BANWEWE - The European Dream Comes True

Its been a while since I completed my "Dream Trip" to Spain or as they say "BANWEWE". A bunch of people who had heart filled with friendship, humanity and a bucket full of dedication managed to pull a trick out of the magic hat. This is only a tribute to their hard work or as they often use "Souvenir".

Can you even imagine a free trip to Spain with a Champions League experience or watching a Real Madrid match from the left corner first row right beside the by-line watching Cristiano Ronaldo from 10 meters or even getting a Higuain training kit free? Can you imagine six people throwing out their hard-earned money for you to enjoy a dream trip to Europe with all the fun you can't even dream of? I was one such lucky guy to get the chance to have my first "European Dream" come true and Woah... How good it was can only be explained when you rip off my heart!

Something which I found really interesting on the central part of Madrid

First day and four back to back pubs for a guy who is never accustomed to night life not even in Pune ends up in a new culture. Well, that was just the start and what followed it got imprinted in the pages of my heart for ever. From the fantastic Madrid central to the outskirts in Segovia it was nothing less than a dream for a 24 year old, 5 ft 7 inch tall guy with his old-fashioned Specs turned on.

Something which caught my eye, very common in Europe as street performers charm the passing by travelers and citizens

After 14 hours of journey from Mumbai to Madrid(via Amman, Jordan), all the jet-lag vanished in one flash of genius from the "Fantastic 6 Spaniards". A dummy(or as they called it "Cartoonoti") of our mutual friend "Subhojit" a.k.a. Subhoti, standing at the queue caught my eye in the Arrivals area of the Madrid-Barajas Airport holding a poster written "Mr. Banerjee". From that moment, one could easily realize how fun-filled the one-week Madrid trip would be. For a moment I wondered, how did these guyz even think of such crazy idea.

A trip to Madrid is in itself a charm - Great.
Hold on... Its an all-expense paid trip - You gotta be kidding me.
Wait a second.. You will have the company of 6 cool friends during the entire trip who are all fun-hungry! - Its gotta be a dream!

The beautiful city of Madrid slowly engulfed my heart with its lush green fields, modern buildings, busy streets, acts and dances, football crazy fans, new cultures, new people, smiling faces and greets all around. If someone could define "perfect", then Madrid would easily be the closest it could get.

I can talk lot about football because I was in Spain, but then this would never end, instead I would just write about the 10 most humble people in Spain - Six big Spaniards, two queens and two angels occupied my heart with their smiling faces and humorous nature.

After eating a huge Squid Sandwich, lots and lots of Sprite(which somewhere costs more than a beer) and a huge chunk of Madrid-night life, "abordon's" beautiful house was my next destination.

Greeted with a gorgeous smile, Mrs. Victoria gave me a small tour to their house painted in majestic white inspired by my boss's favorite brand - Apple. But there was something more beautiful waiting, it was none other than sweet "Gabi", the first angel whom I have only the chance to see pictures of was standing and playing right in front of my lucky eyes. her smile was as charming as you can ever imagine. While the charming angel was casting spells everywhere she went from the kitchen to the bed-room, I was given more company by the son of Mr. Boss, a small and naughty cat. The visit was made more memorable as I was gifted the Gonzalo Higuin training jersey by Mr. Boss.

If "Gabi" was the first angel I saw, "Norah" was the second angel I had the chance to meet. The big Dan with a bigger heart, who is a Barcelona fan wearing AC Milan slippers, alongside the charming "Mrs. Helen" welcomed me to their equally beautiful house, where the busy angel was showing her energy, running everywhere in the house with a pretty smile. From what I know of Dani it was no surprise to me how good Norah really was. While the angel went to bed, me and Dani shared some light moments and after that I was stunned to find that Dani is a "game-freak". His collection of play-station games made me awestruck. We played several rounds of Pro Evolution Soccer(PES), only to be embarrassed by him with tennis scorelines. I told him that the next time he would be on the other side of the result, provided I play with a keyboard.

The best part with abordon and the big dan is, everytime you can can feel from their words, the pride and happiness they have being a father.

If those two families were a joy to watch, there were other four specialist (lbenito,afnista,JL,james) who gave me company throughout the trip.

lbenito3 or shall I say "l benito tres" was the street-smart. Pulled off the small tricks wherever he went. Be it with the girls or be it with the boys...errr. He even managed to arrange a football match for me with his team mates in a local league which ended disastrously with 3 red cards for us in a 7 a side match. He was at the center of all, wherever we went.

Accompanying lbenito-tres was "James", the shy guy, who thought for one hour before speaking to a bunch of gorgeous American ladies for a picture. It was told to me by many as something else, but they were not sure. Anyway, the guy is a wonderful person, with a great Indian taste in terms of songs and good English accent. The best part with him is he has a huge appetite for fun powered by a king-size heart. A rocking time with "lbenito3" and "James" to the mountains where we shot a historic video. Please note: the official 4-step-dance was invented by we three - me, lbenito3 and James.

Following the above two are two Specialists - "afnista" and "jluis". If you need to do an impossible task within an impossible deadline, you should contact these two "Work-a-holics". While "afnista" is a girl-magnet, "jluis" is a work-magnet. While "afnista" concentrates more on work but attracts more girls, jluis concentrates more on girls but attracts more work. Both of them were a joy to travel with to the beautiful place called "Segovia". While me and afnista"the pasta boy" ate "Alfredo and Sofia" pastas, jluis kept on getting amazed looking after beautiful Spanish girls. I again re-iterate, I can put all my money on them to complete any work, no matter how big the work is and how small the deadline is, but please, keep the ladies away.

After all this I can't resist myself from writing about football as my trip was centered on Football, which suited my taste. With one die hard Real Madrid Supporter(Mr. Boss) alongside the ever so "elegance" lbenito3(or shall I say lBROWNITO3), who is a true Atletico Madrid fan, I was sure to be sandwiched to choose only a single alias. I shall say that I was damn lucky to be the cheese between the bread, as I my life went "Zhingalala" after getting to witness both La-Liga(Real Madrid vs Levante) and Champions League(Atletico Madrid vs AC Milan).

It was a smash hit in Facebook with some top comments!

If I had to choose between both experience, I would stand right in the middle, as one experience(Santiago Bernabeu) was like watching a movie live while the other(Vicente Calderon) was more of a real life experience of what "craziness" means. Both had its positives to count for and I can't just make up my mind.."Lo Siento". What I can comment is that, I was present in two heavens and the best part was that I was alive both the times. For a football fan, watching those two games, watching those two teams of the same city, watching Cristiano Ronaldo, Diego Costa scoring in front of my eyes, it was nothing less than a dream come true(if anyone ever dared to dream).

The "Adios" moment!

In the 7 days I spent, I only had my schedule filled with two words - Fun and Pride. Pride because of my mates who selflessly made a dream come true for me and fun part is self-explanatory. I can swear to god, that even if I had ever hoped of a trip to a foreign land, not Bangladesh, not Nepal, not Sri Lanka, not even Asia, but Spain, then it would not have been light years near what I experienced. Thanks to all of you who helped me get such an experience.

A Zero on a Hero: "Making the initial turns"

Never in my astronomically small mind I could have imagined that I would be making a post on my Biking experience. Just few days back I was chatting with a friend regarding my Zero Experience on Bikes and here I am writing a brand new post of my first hand experience on a Hero Honda Splendor (Pro). Perhaps, this is what life is..You never know what's Next? (A perfect answer to Samsung Mobile's evergreen Question "Whats Next?").

From Kolkata to Adra, the transition takes 5 hours of train journey and to overcome those 300 minutes of boredom you need inspirations. Here I am talking about family and Childhood friends whom I could only patch up with in my Hometown Adra. No studies, no Projects, No nothing except for Full time Masti.

Sunday, 15th April, 6:30 PM, as a part of my daily routine at my Hometown, went to our common place for Adda (Gossping), met my friends, and shared our experiences. Meanwhile, I noticed Abhisekh bringing a bike while we were on our so called "Bayis Inchies" (22 Inches - alternate name for Bicycles used by us ). I acknowledged him on the same and said jokingly "Chalane me Maza ayega..Sikha de na?". To my amazement, he replied positively and was ready to give me first lessons instantly. Watching the weather and the darkness, we planned to postpone the learning tutorials till the next morning.

Monday, 16th April, 11:45 AM, Reached our Adda Place along with my friends. I along with Mahatab(another childhood friend), were left alone by Abhisekh who was busy paying his 200% attention to another person, who was of the opposite sex (lets not stretch that further else I will be KO'ed by him). Almost 3 Hours of my ever so precious time was spent with Mahatab talking utter craps about life and all that stuff. At around 2:30 PM he got a call from his father, shouting on him(Mahatab) over the phone, ( I realized that through his expression only), ordering him to come home immediately. Meanwhile at the same time, Abhishek's deadlock with that Lady finally broke and he came to the fray. Much to his disappointment, we called it a day and were wrapping up for our homes. While we(me and Mahatab) gathered with our "22 Inchies", and Abhisekh with his Splender Pro, Abhisekh offered me a quick lesson and I could not reject the lucrative proposal. On my left hand side, Abhisekh gave me some quick knowledge cookies while on my right side, Mahatab was visibly looking drowned in the oceans of anger, or call it the fear of getting busted by his father :).

The very first day of Training

Clutch, Accelerator, Break I heard in an advert but never actually realized what all these things really meant. Abhisekh's knowledge cookies almost cleared all my doubts.

"The funny side was that while he was giving me tips on How to start the bike I was more concerned of How to Stop it? "

Induction motor..3 Idiots..Remember anything?

Since I had the facility of auto-start in my hand, I utilised it to perform the ever so famous sound of Bikes you see in Movies with the celebrities pushing the accelerator to create the sound. You remember that sound? Yes.. the same sound that Raju Rastogi(Sharman Joshi) produced when his professor Virus(Boman Irani) asked him how a Induction Motor Starts.

Brrroooom Broooom Brrrrrrrooooooooooom!!

As I tried to implement the lessons taught by Abhisekh, Mahatab's face was becoming steaming hot. The toughest lesson was to make the Bike move and thats where I faltered at first, finding it tough to synchronize the Clutch and Accelerator combo. Took me around a whopping 15 attempts to make it start with Abhisekh also getting frustrated sitting at my back. The next problem was shifting from 1st to 2nd gear and that caused a bit of panic too as I had my share of problems with the clutch. Nevertheless, as the time progressed I adjusted myself to the conditions, not like Sehwag but more like Dravid, taking my time. The road was beautiful with great visuals on my both sides in the officers colony, garnished with green trees making it look heavenly. As the path was all clear and no signs of any incoming traffic, Abhisekh asked me to shift the gear and press the accelerator thereafter, I did the same (bit hesitatingly though) touching the 45Kph mark much to my delight. I also had one doubt cleared off my mind,

"its weight is not felt when you are on it, you just feel flying."

While I was riding, my devilish mind was flying somewhere else and that needed to be sorted out since, once you are on the ride your dedication and concentration must not be compromised in any way. With your mind strangled on 4 things already: Gear, Clutch, Accelerator and Brake, one cannot even think of doing something else, let alone thinking. My coach sitting at the back kept inspiring me with his pep talks.

Given the circumstances I was in I could have made a dictionary within my freaking little mind. They were like those Meta tags which defines your site to search engines and all. Some of those keywords that were rounding my head were like:

Speed, Control, Brakes, Feel, Fun, Comfort, ACCIDENT, Wind, TRAFFIC, BUMPERS, Dream, Heaven....

So much sinusoidal was my thinking that I found it hard to decide, whether to laugh in joy or cry in fear. But as the hands of my Sonata Wrist Watch tic-tac-toed I felt more comfortable and was feeling a great sigh of satisfaction.

Thanks to Abhisekh I had some more practice sessions in the next two days of my stay at Adra. Clutch-Accelerator combo improved by leaps and bounds for me. Despite that some friends feared to take a trip with me, as was the case with Raj(yes, another friend). When I offered him a seat, he chose not to much to my disappointment. So much was his fear that while waiting for me to comeback along with Abhisekh after the practice session, that he got off the road several times thinking that Debraj Is Coming..Stay aside.

Chabilal (Ah..Friend Count= Friend Count + 1), was kind enough to take the back seat but at the same time he asked something..

Chabi: Chala Ata Hai na Bhai? (Bro You know to ride?)
Debraj(Me): Bas Naya Naya sikhe hai. Bas ek dikkat hai, samne koi achanak se aa jaye to brakes ka koi bharosa nahi. (If someone comes suddenly, I might panic to apply the brakes correctly).
Chabi: Baapre, ek kaam kar, maximum 2nd gear me chalana (OMG..Do one thing. Don't push it ahead of the 2nd Gear).
Debraj(Me): Chal Dekhte Hai (Lets see...i replied with a naughty smile)

The small session also went well and Chabilal was more or less impressed by my skills. Oh, and I did cross the 2nd gear though.. :) :).

Abhisekh was rewarded only with a 200ml Soft Drinks on the very last day of my stay at my hometown Adra , for his tutorial classes. Perhaps, too less, but nevertheless, he was happy with it and so was I not to lash out a hefty sum from my ever so light purse.

The experience was of life time validity. Thanks to Abhisekh for giving me the opportunity. Only practice can make a man perfect (same implies for a woman too...). To wrap things up, I would end up with a small but beautiful quote, summarizing my experience..

"Experience is an arch, to build upon."

22 Days - "The gateway to Heaven"

The gateway to Heaven

I regret to say that this training will be remembered by me for my entire life. I know, the word "Regret" might sound a bit absurd here but frankly speaking the word Regret stands out of the rest of the words as I will miss the fun that I felt each day. I could say with my eyes and brains open to the max. extent, that

"If there is a atmosphere to learn, then this is IT"

The way the 22 days went was least expected by us when we first heard about the same. We had joy, we had fun but at the same time we did not allow any opportunities to our trainers to have a negative impression. I and most probably all of my fellow colleagues will agree with me on the note that We played, we made fun of each other, there were gossips all around but on the same note it must also be quoted that We were right up there in the Leaning curve.

Nevertheless, we really came up as a unit as I feel and I can bet 10 bucks (thoda kanjus hun na..) that the LAB 7 creatures(and I mean it "Creatures"...You heard it right) were the best of them all. Working as a team, as a unit whether it were the games (Counter Strike, FIFA, NFS) that we played or the exams that we gave.

Lets compile the whole thing and the analogy(.class) becomes something similar to this...

"We had people from different religions, but all of them entered the same Religious place"

There were several groups, students from different colleges, it took time to make the roads between the different groups but when the road became concrete, it was like a single lane National Highway.

Let me explain, the road did not have any dividers and the best part was whatever and whenever we did something it became a well synchronized team effort. All vehicles went in the same directions.

Lets have a look what were the highlights of LAB 7:

1. The gaming group

Counter Strike, FIFA and Need For Speed

Personally speaking FIFA is a game you can play day in and day out and I can ensure you that you will not end up bored even for a single moment. Counter Strike deserves the same mention.

Many players who emerged from the Counter Strike are:

VIPER (Suvodeep), **[Terminator]**(Baidyanath aka Bauda), yoookiller(Srinjoy), Cr79(Tejesva), karthik(Karthik), eoin(Mama), rowdy(forgot his original name), mansij(Mansij), player(Abhi), G.one(Manish), mkt65(Mihir "President"), Shahbaz "Shahbazul Shahbazul", Vishal "PCO", Saviour(Agni), Maddy(Madhumanti only girl contestent..hats off..), Vivek(forgot his CS alias)
and lastly I too played CS with several names, most prominently...AssaSIN[A*C*I*D] and KoLaV3R!

I wondered what would have happened if Sree "Kelano public" would have joined the CS team...

FIFA players included:

Agni "The fire", Karthik"calling ~~Karthik~~ Sunny", Abheek "silent eater", Rishab "Silent Murderer", Anirban "Gigantic Mama" and also me Debraj.

The card Players:

Karthik, Agni, Rishab, Biswarup, Maddy, Barnadeep "Shanto Sishto", Mama, Honey, AP, and others...(sorry I know I missed some names here),

The NFS team:

Rohit(Rockstar), Biswarup(shanto chele), Barnadeep "Shanto Sishto", Saswata("they call him sutko"), Agni, Abheek, Karthik and others..

2. Non Gaming Group

This group mostly comprises of girls along with a selected boys..

Sreetama"Kelabo", Soumita "throws Nickname not found exception", Ekata "Can't spell anymore", Joncy "Reminds me of South African fielder"(no offense expected), Ria "na na na na A....D", Maddy "Female Counter Strike Champion", Vandana "I should not say it anymore...or should I..?", Honey "Don't do any Hani(hindi wala) to me...", Anupurba "reminds me of GP @Abheek", Sweta "Smarty", Sayak "Gayak was a better name", and I "Debraj" was also in that team...

Srinjoy "Ever soooo Bhooka" and Mihir "South City is a special place" also worked in this department on temporary basis.

Bornodweep "Killer instincts", Saumik "Mr. Thinker".....

These were the different religions and when these religions meet at a place it is called "The Lab 7 Team".

I am certain that the 22 days that we spent here will remain in some corner of the heart of every member, no matter how much your heart can engulf. The irony is that I cannot express my feelings for the first time in my blogging career of mine (if you can say it that way). Words like Awesome, fantastic....are too dwarf in front of the experience. It is easier to code a full fledged project rather than to adjust yourself after this experience. Too good...

As the new trainer walked in, we hardly noticed him as he was silent for more than 2 hours or so, the rain was slowly pouring from the dull looking sky in the sleepy atmosphere.

The gamers were gaming, the sleepers were sleeping, the movers were moving, the spectators were spectating, the bunkers were bunking and the girls were uttering..

Eventually as he was about to introduce himself I was about to excuse myself. Went for a Puri/Kochuri and he started making Dahi (or Doi) of my fellow colleagues.

At first glimpse, you could hardly tell who was the teacher...one needs to have an eagles eye to capture the odd man out. Nevertheless, when the command switched to his hand, we were able to understand the Man-in-Command "Mr. A".

From the very first year in college we only knew the significance of "C" word (Ask Mr. Dennis Ritchie for more info.) but since the new man from Orissa entered the movie of the Haunted palace, we came to know what is the significance of "W" word..(Not an alphabet anymore...because of its importance)

Frankly speaking about the new trainer, he was one of those kinds who has something in store for us....like the Magician with the Magic hat,

the Only difference was that It was not Entertaining anymore!!

Here is why we started to recognize the "W" word....

Mr. A started the slides and we started responding to his queries, but as there are already so many genius in our section, in a few moments we started noticing the "W" word as it repeatedly flew from his mouth. As I told, initially it was abstracted from us (or Encapsulated....He has jumbled up my concept as of now), but

Our RDBMS teacher(more of a friend), finally had to call it a day much to the disappointment of our Gaming department, who will hardly get any better colleague than Arif Sir (We did heard RF at first..not Arif and wondered what could be that). As like the last two...Sidhu Bhai and Vijay Dinnanath Chowhan, we did not wanted to get rid of him (atleast not without giving us a treat). Mr. RF accepted our request and then came the Pizza's ordered fresh from Dominos. Here are some pics that I had and thus will share with you guyz. Here I go...

I do commit that I took four slices, but at the same time I can assure you that except for the first time, I shared each slice with minimum of four other students.

Someday its better to leave the things at the Almighty's hand

Full night drama and no studies is what you could go for when the exams are knocking on the doors and that too of that stature of Accy. I left it to the almighty as my eyes were raring to close the shutter as the Enemy's Hand were pointing at the 2 AM mark. Closed the silly looking but extremely addictive Gtalk button where you often Type rather than talk..."It should have been GType"..P

Next day, I opened my eyes at 6:45 thanks to the SAMSUNG Mobile (Which has also a bluetooth...this line is for someone who made a mockery of it by asking me whether it has that facility or not)...Took the bath by 7 AM, with extraordinary courage. Reached the bus stand by 7:30 and I was as lucky as a winner of KBC when I got a seat in the Bus along with Baidyanath "Mr. Vatish 001" Dutta.

Was at the Same old place by 8:20 AM.

Learnt that Sohini, Sreya (two Wo-mans) are gone from the training....and So was Joyita..I wondered why God Why? Why this Kolaveri Di? They could have left earlier...At least 2 and 1/2 plates of Doi boda (as Joyita went for a Distributed Shared Memory for the wada with Masi (MKC), who is still alive).

Test was about to begin and It seemed perfect to write a Head-Start blog for the same kind of training. I did the same as the 72 Heartbeats/Minute thing directed me the same to do. I was off to the blogger.com page in a flash.

Exams finished....copied and helped others in doing the same. My appreciation for "Mr. Vatist 001" (I guess if I say the name again he wont show me his answers). He has sound and Complete knowledege in most of the programming languages whereas mine is say:

Distorted, Clustered, Insecure, Highly flexible, incomplete by (m)any means. (I am not that bad too...its just that some people like to have some fun while reading...else I am a great Talent in those field..but a bit Unpolished).

After the exam, we were very angry (dont want to use the bad words). The exams were good and deserved something better. We were very disappointed after looking at the scores. All of us deserved to get more than 75% atleast and it happened to be a mediocre kind of performance. Our friend Manish "Mr. Big Boss" Krishna Anand from BIT scored 80 and his friends also got the same...(Congrats to them...I really dont know their names else I would have loved to mention...Will have to send the link to them as well...).

Some lines are coming up from my 85 beats/Minute Machine...so writing them...

It was joy, it was Fun, till the new Teacher came and he lacked Fun.

Anyways, Counter Strike was installed in our machine thanks to some big hearted colleague ("Dinu Bhai"...thanks to you for the word), and I started firing along with Baidyanath Dutta (BND). Girls looked disinterested...The irony of the hour was when we were playing the tough, brave and strategic game against our mates of other college, they were playing a game called........"ANGEL GUN" or "ANGEL RUN"...not too sure..but it didn't have a gun and Priyanka "Not Mkc anymore" Chaudhri was uttering some nasty words(...not too sure what that was though..), when somebody was manhandling the angel in the game. Come on...How boring..A game played with guns at one PC and other one had a pink screen with a barbie doll being dressed up as if they were real. Even the second remaining girl of the IT-NSEC-Acc Universe..Ekota Tripathy (Sorry for the mistake in spelling, but I wont go back..."bahut alsi hun na")joined the Pink coloured game.

I had one very good game in the mean time after struggling to get my hands on the mouse. Killed seven in a row(all heads). It brought some notice among Ryan (Counter Strike name of a boy from SIT...a PRO player), Viper(another PRO player) and his colleagues as they came to meet me as I said I was playing from my lab. My name in Counter Strike is "AssaSIN[A*C*I*D] " anyways..BND (dont worry I wont say Mr. Vatist 001 anymore till the last exam), plays with the name "**[Terminator]**", he was playing beside me..and was playing well.

The rest of the day I was least interested in what the new boy said...I dont know what to call him as we have not decided yet. Nevertheless, we had a great moment but at the same time we missed our previous teachers...We still remember you both Vijay Dinnanath Chowhan..:D and our very own.....Siddhu bhai...(he might read it)...Sudipta sir...We miss you both.

Its all set to get our hands on our first main exam of Acc. Lets see what is in store for us. The stakes are high and the resources are low. Latest news is that two girls have arrived and so NSEC wont be without any girls from IT after Joyita decided to say TATA to Acc. Sohini and Sreya also said TATA for some reason which is yet to be known.

Enjoyment and Fun are Priceless, but Dosa is not

Well..well...well, I had my day and guess what was the occasion...it was my 23rd birthday. Some people cut cakes and some people make a birthday party at their home. I did neither but one thing is for sure, I had no less fun than what they can get.

Woke up from morning after getting, what they call a 'GPL'(Don't even dare to ask the full form). It was a sweaty encounter with the bed as I woke up virtually boiling, but it was not too late when I realized that the wind got the better of me. All my confidence to overcome the weather resulted in complete failure. I had to take the shelter of my jacket.

Much to the delight of my black lower garment(which includes my super-formal trouser and the only black pair shoe), it was raining outside. Trust me...Garia, will be the last place you would like to end up in a watery situation(pardon my english again)..Anyways by the time I had reached the Haunted Palace(don't read it place), my outlook had some different artistry on it, thanks to the rain and the AS3 bus(the least said, the better it is).

Reaching the destination, I had a task to complete which was delayed to a good 20 minutes but ultimately it was done, but somehow it lacked perfection. Some knew and some didn't. For those who knew it was another opportunity to follow the tradition, after which I was bound to shout my lungs out in pain. I already had my purse loaded as I knew that I wont be spared, I just waited for a signal and when I got one...I had to give them a treat (as if I had another choice...did I?). I thought that it will be better to give a early morning breakfast than a mid day lunch, the reasons to which are quite obvious. But, special thanks to some of my "She-Friends"(...as the term girl friends always gets dealt incorrectly) who went for early breakfast, my idea shattered into pieces or perhaps they simply poured water in it. The moment made me remember the truely beautiful lines of the famous poem called "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner"

"Water, water, every where,
Not any drop to drink."

Anyways...I had to do it. So, invited all my IT mates to the Dosa treat in the lunch time. It felt great to invite someone especially when you are host. Some even didn't knew what was the occasion...but after coming in 4th year, they showed maturity.

Dosa was on by 1:15 PM as we went to the Money Submission Machine- "The Dosa Stand"...Some of them wanted to have "Doi Bada"(in Bengali) or "Dahi Wada"(in Hindi)...that included the two Wo-Mans "Sohini" and her so called Step-Mom "Shreya" whereas baba of Sohini, Baidyanath"Puro Vat" Dutta went for the Dosa, two others that wanted to go for a Distributed Shared Memory System which were Joyita and Priyanka Mkc (What does that MKC Mean)..also went for the Wada. The last remaining girl Ekata(She gets angry when you call her Ekta...call her EKOTA...I hope I am pronunciating it correctly) was happy with the "default" of the Switch(Menu).

Rest of us were happy with the Custom made Dosa...call it Masaaaaaala Dosa("thoda pyaar se"). It was fun after that, (except for the Money giving away to the Dukan-daar). Enjoyed a lot with a smile in my heart. Really....mazza aya...bhishon bhalo laglo. I had to convey them a special message, "Do not convey the Treat Festival to other boys and girls who were not a part"

The day was special...and much to my very own delight I purchased a new memory card. Mihir "President Bhai" was very supportive and caring in making me choose one...frankly speaking...its me who takes his earpieces most of the time in the lab as I feel more energetic while listening to Music. And it moreover helps you to keep your mental stability. Mihir "President Bhai" also misses some calls from his girlfriends thanks to me. So, you can understand why he was so caring this time.

First of all....Happy New year to everybody.

To my readers(no matter how few they are), todays post will not be any masala kind of thing, it will be more of a philosophical thing.

Just a random thought from some corner of my heart, in which I believe...

Have we ever wondered how much role does 31st December play in the build up to 1st January. Perhaps not, we go out party and enjoy our time in the first day of the new year with a hope that everything will be better and try to motivate ourselves in every way possible.

If you dig deep in your soul, somewhere you will find what led to the celebrations and enjoyment. 31st December acts just like a Gift wrapper you use to wrap gifts for your hubbies on special occasions. Imagine a birthday present without a wrapper...how odd will it look? And what ultimately happens is that the Wrapper goes to the ground teared and shattered and the new gift is the focus of attraction, more or less the same way 31st December acts in the build up to 1st January.

All the preparations for new years celebration is done on that day and the countdown begins from the wee hours of that very day..

The point is that some things in life deserve more respect than a simple neglect. Don't ignore those...

"So, give it the respect it deserves."

Anyways, some people might find it hard to digest the above few lines. For them and for the rest of all...

The concept of AS3 Bus Explained using C and Java

A bit confusing isn't it? Understanding the concept of a Bus through a Programming Language? If you don't understand 'C' (not She as in Sayak "Preet Ki Lat" CarMaker's case)...its the Language C discovered by Dennis Ritchie, it will be a problem for you to understand.

As you can see in the above figure we will slowly make you understand.

The first part is the return type. To tell it in very simple way...it represents what goes out of the Function which is AS3 Here.

The Second Part is the Name of the Function. Here it is AS3.

The Third Part shows what are the Function is taking in.

What is AS3?

AS3 is a Bus which goes from Garia Station to New Town (for general people) and it has a great USP that it also comes back via the reverse route i.e. from New Town to Garia Station(for other creatures).

So what are the conclusions?

AS3 Bus does not have any outputs. Once a Passenger comes in He does not go out of the bus before the final destination is reached. i.e. Outflow = Null
AS3 Bus take in as many passengers as possible. The three dots (...) signify a function which takes in large number of inputs as arguments. So there is no restriction in the inputs. so Inflow = Unlimited.

These features also lead to many other derived features...(like inheritance in Java....)

First and foremost AS3 Bus follows Object Oriented Approach. Every other things acts like an object. It will seem that every thing is still except the bus. Just like a bunch of Statues as there are no interaction with people and often you will find people pushing and uff....aff...ing at every alternate minute.
While inside the bus you cannot feel your body parts and often confuse with whats yours and whats others...:D
If you get a chance to grab a seat in AS3 then you are as much lucky as someone who wins a Lottery.
Encapsulation is obeyed also....you will always be protected from all the directions. Its more secure than Java actually, its like a BIOS password which has been forgotten.(though there are ways to recover). Abstraction is maintained also....You are always abstracted from the destination until the conductor shots out loud.

A masterpiece straight from the two Gentle "Wo" Mans

Like the last post...today I shall bring some interesting incidents. New teacher on the cards, who on first glimpse looked a strict kind of teacher...but will have to reserve my thought as What it seems might not be equal to what you get...as they say "Jo Dikhta hai woh hamesha Hota nahi.." Like our very own..."Dinnu Bhai", he seemed a easy nut to crack as he also took our intros.

But How Wrong Can I be?

The depiction of the newly appointed trainer (Whom I started calling... "Siddhu Bhai" and others called with some vulgar names...:D) within a flash of second as we heard the word "ACTIVITY". For the boys and girls of NSEC, it was something which that they are not accustomed to. The moment we heard the word, it seemed as if we reacted "WHAT THE.....?". But thanks to some Worms (Teja and BND mainly), we had what we call "Mal Masala" in our hands.

We got some highly unexpected and highly un-probabilistic occasional breaks. I thought that its the same thing that happens to a goat, moments before he is made ready for lunch.

"Feed it and then, Bleed it.."

Here is the painting part.....

After I and BN returned from a stomach full of lunch,

my eyes straight went to a painting...I reacted instantly and thought " what a ******* painting?" To describe the painting, here I go...

Simply Stunning, Out of the World(Similar to Aliens), Painted in High Level Language (very Complex to understand for normal people like us), I called that a Masterpiece.

The painters were Sohini(who calls BND baba) and Sreya(who calls herself as Step-mom of Sohini).

Congrats to the girls for such a terrific piece of Abstract, outrageous and out of the world painting.

The next thing I did was ask them to give the master-piece in the pen drive...and here you go...

Here is how they described the High Level Painting to me...

The scene is from a ocean. Sohini is standing in the middle of the ocean and crying foul for the decision of joining Acc. over TCS. The Crying Mechanism is a Leaky Bucket mechanism..:D :D...the tears go to the bucket and the bucket has a leak in the bottom which is making the ocean. It is even worth noticing the manner in which the author has thought of the mechanism....awesome to the creators to make others understand the logic behind Leaky Bucket. It is a real life example of Leaky bucket. It seems quite clear (I dont know how clear it may seem actually) from the picture that Sohini is bleeding from the mouth...(might be a suicide attempt...I dont know the reason...will have to ask her).

Sreya is in the right corner of the Master-Piece. She is also bleeding from the mouth and also crying with a Leaky Bucket Mechanism. The colour combination of the dress is definitely to be praised. Meanwhile, Sayak "Preet Ki Lat" CarMaker does not seem to have any regrets over his decision and thus is trying to ride the boat in the ocean, but how can Sreya leave him like that when she and Sohini is also suffering from guilt. Sreya cruelly drags the boat of Sayak and thus Sayak fell to the Ocean. I did not knew why there were two deadbodies. It might have happened that Sayak was pregnant and his son also died in the mishap.

How cruel can the world be??

I thus will congratulate the painters of the Master-Piece, the two gentle "Wo" mans again.

I will have to praise their master-piece...and will like to point out some salient features:

An incident to remember: "Nearly Perfect"

First post for the newly created blog (my fourth including my blog on Indian football :P) and here I go sharing with all of you an incident that will remain in my tiny head for some time.

Training for Accent.(full name is abstracted) was the occasion during which the incident took place.

27th December: Day 2 of Training, The after-effects of the effort, dedication and concentration(might sound too strong) put in on the very first day at the training was clearly visible in my freaking head in the next morning as conditions were equally bad from head to toe of my body.....

Got up from bed sharp at 7 thanks to my cute little SAMSUNG mobile, and was ready by 7:45 for my ride to the training centre. Stood up from the source to the destination till I reached the haunted palace. Unlike the previous day, we were given more time to do what we wanted than what we were forced to do. It was 6PM when I left the premises along with my colleagues for our journey back to pseudo-home. 6:30 PM- A lovely Yellow colored bus (which had pre registered members) was irresistible to avoid considering the conditions of the AS3 Buses (where people can't feel their body parts and often confuse between - whats theirs with others?). Accompanying me in the bus were a group of similar looking creatures -

Baidyanath Dutta (a.k.a BND), Mihir Kumar(President Bhai), Abhay ( The ___ of ___ )Bhushan, Sumitava "No More Accent." Saha (or should I say Swaha), and Iqubal Ahmed.

I along with Iqubal were the unlucky ones not to get a ever so comfortable looking luxurious seat. Nevertheless, midway through Sumitava " No More Accent. " S(w)aha asked me to hand over his bag to him. I was smart enough to hand over my bag instead. After we reached our stoppage, near the Peerless (Which most of the time I call HOPELESS), we decided to take a Taxi.

As the Taxi was about to start, I realized something was missing, YES, THAT WAS MY BAG. Oh dear, what a misery. My mind went blank, as the bus had already left and probably was out of the 1 KM radius.

I had three options:

Take a taxi, chase down the Bus.
Take a auto from Garia Stn. to Garia Bus stand and wait till the bus arrives
Go to your place, and FLUSH what happened.

I chose the third one considering the fact that how much will the quantities haunt me in the longer versions. In terms of Financial Management it shall be termed as the "values of the assets I had".

Significance: Was given by my Mom and I loved the warmth it gave me. Really was liking that.

As I was going back, I had to hear some nasty comments from my fellow colleagues but I was hardly able to take in as my mind was getting diverted to the incident. For a moment, I thanked the almighty that I was lucky enough to not to loose out any important documents. After, reaching my PG/Mess ( Pseudo Home), I explained the incident to my mate. Thank god, he reacted Okay-ly (pardon my English please). I was as disappointed with the loss as I was when I lost my Laptop in the 1st year of my college. Though the loss was far less, but the damage was the same. My face hardly told the story as I don't react much and hence, don't show my emotions. I called up my home, and translated the entire happening to my mom(as I always do). She gave me enough confidence to overcome the struggle. I was feeling good then. With a slim chance of recovering the lost materials, I went back to bed hoping for a better day at the next glimpse.

28th December: Day 3 of Training, Things started brightly for me as the conditions were fine to take a bath in the shivering cold - One really needs some courage to do that.... Anyways, I was brave enough to take the challenge. Reached the Haunted Palace, along with Baidyanath("BND") and Sreya(who joined us en route to the destination).

We knew from the word GO, that the day will have a lot of free time as we were scheduled to learn OS and Networking, which most of my beloved colleagues remembered. Tejesva "HACKER" Duggar was at doing what he did best, forcefully dragging Srinjoy "Bhooka" Das, who was (n)ever so eager to learn. In the mean time, our very generous sir "Dinnanath" (whom we call Dinu Bhai) was trying to make us learn the way of skipping the slides, in which we were also interested... :D :D. A miss call at 11 AM was ignored by me as I thought someone was trying to do a Prank on me (could have been very expensive). As the day progressed, our free time increased, much to the delight of the so called "colleagues".

A small mock test was waiting for us, for which we hardly cared about. We had Internet connection and we jumped on it as Wild Cats. Some were Cricinfo'ed and some were SRK'ed. I was Goal'ed and Blog'ed. I managed to open my favourite online football game, TrophyManager where my team Adra Power Supply(My Cricket Crazy friends hate that Name and the Game) was doing just fine and were winning in their cruicial last league match, which shall be enough for promotion to the topmost league in Indian league, the i-League.

As the Mock test was nearing, Hacker Dude "Teja" was getting more equipped and was teaching his skills to Swatilekha. Even she was firing some Telnet's and ssh's at random computer. I could and most probably would have been the victim of one those malicious Telnets had I not disabled my network connection at the right moment.

The Mock test had some charming things written all over it from the word go. I remember a line reading something like
".......the highest scoring students will be awarded prizes, the result of which shall be published in March 2008." March 2008....Thats right!!

BND joked that we needed Time machine to get past that barrier. I remember the same line again, " VALUES OF ASSETS". I thought the loss would be more than the profit and in the end we will have a lots of "SUNDRY CREDITORS"(Which I first read Sundary....Creditors).

Questions which were thrown to us were virtually insulting...:P. Why a day and Night occurs? What is GDD? What is IDC(with an option saying "Indian Discovery Channel"?

During the mock test, I was made to feel proud for my knowledge on football by Srinjoy and Sohini (who for some strange reason calls BND - baba.....and for some strange reasons Sreya calls herself the step-mom of Sohini...I am confused about the relations...).

MOC(K) test was over by 5 PM as we all passed harmlessly. I got 76.92 to be very precise.

It was the last day for "Dinu Bhai" and that demanded a treat, and so we asked with a smile on our face. Much to our joy, he was ready in a flash. We were given a nice sip of hot coffee by our Vijay "colleague" Dinnanath Chouhan (I hope somebody do not forward the link of the post to him).

I said to my friend Sayak "Preet Ki Lat" Karmakar,

"Ek Cup Coffee ki kimat tum kya jaano Sayak Babu, Kisike __ ka __ hota hai ek cup Coffee"

I was hoping that somehow I can make my friends stay till 6:30 PM than I might have a chance to get that Yellow Bus. It was 6 PM by then when we were waiting. Sayak "Preet ki Lat" Karmakar was also there waiting for his bus along with Sohini and Sreya, whose route is from NewTown to HOME(as said by Sreya). I used the famous lines again (with some modifications),

" Ek Mufler ki Kimat tum kya jaano Sayak Babu"

As the time was going forward, chances were looking bright to meet the bus. As many as three AS3 buses passed us, but neither of them had a space for even a tiny little mosquito. Some ideas were flying around by my mates which were not pleasing me. Some wanted to go for a indirect bus and some wanted to do the impossible (get inside a AS3). I was sharing some nasty opinions with my friends regarding the possiblities of finding the bag or its contents. Some times I thought I will catch the conductor "Red ~~Handed~~ Headed" wearing the Mufler and sometimes I thought that the Bus conductor and his fellow mates would have changed their route(of the bus) to avoid us finding them....itn't that nasty.

It was 6:31 PM when our President Babu spotted the Yellow bus. I went ahead thinking that I might get lucky. The first thing I asked after getting in was Mihir...Go for it. Mihir fired in the question to the villian looking conductor, " Bhaiya koi bag kal chut gaya tha....aapko mila kya?", he relied,"yes" and the day turned close to perfect for me. I felt a great joy in touching the Knight Riders bag and that "Angoora" Mufler. There was the Diary too. The Conductor (who looked like a Hero now) asked whether everything was there or not...I replied positively without cross-checking much. The next thing I did was calling up my mom, to tell the story. She was equally happy as me and it was a great feeling. After giving the Bus fare, I offered a small tip to the Hero Conductor, which he calmly refused quoting,"Ye to hamara farz tha"...I thought perhaps...the tip was too less...He(the Hero) also told me that he did give me a miss call after searching though my diary and that turned out to be the same miss call which I ignored in the morning. I did not realized it instantly as I said..."I don't think I got a miss call". My friend replied,"Perhaps he gave a miss call to your Girlfriend"...I thought, that might be true for a second.....then I realised...How come I have a girlfriend and I don't know? :D :D......While we were getting out of the bus...I managed to give him a better deal and forced him to keep that. He smiled back...

While we were there in the next bus(1B) back to Garia stn. I got the idea of opening up a new blog and sharing up the experience with you all and here I go. I thought it would be a perfect story with a perfect ending.

Well almost......
When I and BND got inside the auto-rickshaw, I checked in my bag and found that I thing was missing and that was the Rs.85 Pierre Cardin Pen...I thought a bit then realized

"Ja hoy Bhalor jonno hoy"
or (in Hindi)
"Jo hota hai Acche ke liye hota hai" (my dad say it often)

Perhaps, it was not the conductor, it might have been my fault as I might have dropped the historical pen somewhere. Nevertheless, What I learned could be trapped inside these small few lines...

"If the world was perfect, it wouldn't be."
