Alan is up against Ant and Dec, Sarah Millican and Graham Norton.

Alan to host the Brighton Comedy Festival Gala in aid of Sussex Beacon in October

Alan will be hosting the annual Brighton Comedy Festival Opening Gala in aid of Sussex Beacon on Friday 5th October at the Dome concert hall.

Special guests already confirmed are regulars from Stand Up For Week Seann Walsh and Paul Chowdhry, British Comedy Award winner Jo Brand, festival favourite Simon Evans, and Dublin comedy duo Abandoman. Other guests to be announced.

Money raised will go to Sussex Beacon who run a Hospice in Brighton dealing with people suffering from HIV and Aids.

Alan's Summertime Specstacular aired on 8th June and was a riot! Justin Bieber, David Walliams, Carol Vorderman, Dr Christian Jessen, the Rizzle Kicks, The Saturdays, the Made In Chelsea cast and many more joined Alan for silly games and a bit of a knees up at Channel 4 HQ.

If you missed Alan playing swingball with Justin Bieber; Alan as The Queen vs the Iron Lady; Alan and Jonathan Ross enjoying a staycation in Brighton; David Walliams looking sumptuous in a summer frock, a live link up with Russell Brand in LA, Alan as Noel Edmonds, Jamie Laing in a gold onesie(!), the Rizzle Kicks rocking the house with Mama Do The Hump... you get the picture...

Alan has been nominated for a BAFTA for best Entertainment Performance for Chatty Man. He's up against Dara O'Briain (Mock the Week), Harry Hill (Harry Hill's TV Burp) and Graham Norton (The Graham Norton Show).

"The first time you come across Alan Carr, you notice one thing. He's screamingly camp. Imagine the love child of Kenneth Williams and Frankie Howerd, and you might get close. He says he's never come out – there's never been any need to. Gay activists have even accused him of being too gay; of giving homosexuals a bad name.

The funny thing is, he says, he's spent so much of his life trying to de-camp himself. He'd try to play football or deepen his voice, but there was always a little something that gave him away – the obsession with Wonder Woman, the laugh, the limp wrist, the love of Doris Day films, the attraction to Rock Hudson..."

Alan and Melanie Sykes raise £175,000 for charity on The Million £ Drop!

Big congrats to Alan and Melanie Sykes who won a whopping £175,000 for charity tonight on The Million Pound Drop!

The money will go to The British Wildlife Rescue Centre (Alan's chosen charity) which "cares for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife which is often brought in by members of the public and the RSPCA"; and to Hearts and Minds (Mel's chosen charity) which supports "families touched by Autism in the UK & Ireland".

Alan's got off to a cracking start this year with two awards in as many months! On January 25th, he beat fierce competition to take home the Best Chat Show gong at the National Television Awards - in a category that included Graham Norton and The Jonathan Ross Show!

Alan thanked his fans for all their support and their votes!

And earlier this month, he won the Loaded LAFTA Award for Best Stand Up.
