It's not even out yet and it's already port-time for the 3DS. WHICH IS NOT A BAD THING if you had that in mind. No. Most certainly not, good sir. Why? Because it's freaking Pilotwings! Say it with me! PI-LOT-WINGS! Resort.

I can't tell how many hours of my life I wasted on that N64 classic. That didn't sound right. I spen- no. I put those hours to good use. Yes. Much better.

I'm so excited. Finally I can get my revenge on that flame I had to take pictures of but constantly flew through it. Or maybe I should pay a visit to Mt. Rushmore once again. I bet it's in the game. It must be.

Mario Kart 3D

No Nintendo console is complete without a Mario Kart!

Mario Kart 3D

Having a friend over at your house and playing Super Mario Kart on the SNES all day was the essential part of your childhood. I know it was mine. After the huge success of Mario Kart DS on the Nintendo DS, Mario and his friends (and foes) fasten their seatbelts once again to race for the crown. And the Banana Peel trophy.

Unfortunately, Mario Kart 3D has no official release date yet, but I reckon that it will be out around May or April 2011. As of now, we don't really know what characters you will be able to play as. Confirmed are Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Bowser, Peach and Toad. I love Yoshi. Best driver. Period.

Mario is in a hurry to get his pipe cleaned in Peach's Castle. Rated M for Mario Kart.

I'm excited for the new power-ups and the 3D effects. Definitely looking forward to seeing the ink blot. And real-life shell-dodging. I also wonder what the new tracks could possibly be. With the release of Kid Icarus: Uprising, I hope for an Angel Land Grand Prix.

Aside from just racing, Mario Kart 3D will feature online multiplayer (just like its predecessor) and a lot of fun game modes. Balloon fights like in Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64 will be back for us having a blast. Literally.

That's my favorite Italian plumber! The often underestimated Paper Mario series celebrates its debut on the Nintendo 3DS. Paper Mario 3D is a fully-fledged RPG with a turn-based and button-timed combat system, very funny dialogue and a lenghty story mode.

Taking 2D to the third dimension.

Paper Mario mixes the joy of 2D platforming and party- and item systems with experience points of your oh so loved RPGs. Basically, it's jumping, collecting coins to buy new items, defeating enemies, earning XP and leveling up to strengthen your stomping power.

Just by looking at this picture, I instantly want to play this game.

Paper Mario 3D has yet to receive a definite release date.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Actually, there is no need to introduce this series to you.

This is a complete remake of the N64 classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time. By many considered the best game of all time. And that means something.

The 3DS has its price tag for quite some time now, so I wondered how much you would/wanted to pay at most?

Personally, I had hoped for a price at around $200 to $220 (= €200 to €220 which is bullcrap in itself). But $250 is not bad at all. I mean, it's a new technology and stuff.

I will pick up mine right at launch day. What about you?

Kid Icarus: Uprising

After all those years of wait and a more than small cameo in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Pit will return for yet another adventure.

Kid Icarus: Uprising

You can not imagine the volume of my screams during Nintendo's 3DS revealing trailer at E3 2010. I was like: "Dude, what's that blue medusa doing there? Give me Mario or Kirby or- WHAT THE FUC- KID ICARUS! WHOOOHOOO!" Yeah, that was pretty intense. I loved the old games. I think I even played a Game Boy version.

Pit is back in Kid Icarus: Uprising, coming exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.

The aforementioned "medusa" will be the villain in this game. She apparently has done some reaaally bad things so it's your job to put an end to her. From the looks of several gameplay trailers, the game will (for the most part) be played as a third person-flying-grinding-shooting-bullet hell-action adventure game. Sounds good to me. Basically, you dodge stuff, shoot stuff and ultimately kill stuff. IN 3D!

The game looks great, runs smoothly and looks really sharp around the edges. You can already see that this game has had a huge amount of work put into. Nintendo probably wants to make this one count. After some disappointments in the home console department, they try to dish out as much fan service as possible. And I love it. Just watch that trailer. Pit even says "Sorry to keep you waiting!".

This will be awesome. Battling a gigantic cerberus while constantly having fireballs being shot right in your face. Not sure about the red 3DS, though.

Really now, who has never ever played one of them Pokémon games? After the incredible success of the first four generations, sixteen individual games (including remakes and special editions) and several spin-off games, the new versions are about to emerge. Pokémon Black and White will hit stores on March 6 2011. The two new games will introduce 156 new Pokémon

that you will want to catch. That's a total of 649 Pokémon overall. Go ahead. Pick your favorites. I dare you.

The games' concept is conceivably easy. Fight, catch new Pokémon, level them up, get even stronger, beat the crap out of the Elite Four at the end of the game, gain access to new areas and try to be the Pokémon Master.

A Pokémon Master is someone who caught all the Pokémon and bought every single piece of merchandise. So they say in the anime series.

Anyway, you're gonna love this game if you're into those catch-this-catch-that-and-make-it-stronger-games. And it's not that hard. Even a child could pick up and play it!

The graphics have been dramatically changed since the last games Diamond and Pearl. It's even more 3D (not the 3DS-3D) and the battle system has been upgraded as well. Sprites now don't just stand around all day waiting to be slaughtered. Now they jump while doing so.

I hope you read my first entry of this blog. Because it's awesome and because it's about Nintendo's latest creation (which is awesome in itself).

Let's start by taking a look at the latest entry in the Resident Evil series. By god, that's on a handheld?

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

Surprised? I'm not just gonna aim at the 3DS but also on great games for the regular Nintendo DS.

Ever heard of Phoenix Wright? That lawyer guy in a blue suit? First, those games are freaking awesome. You really care about the characters, the storylines are fantastic and you will cry at the end of part 3, Trials and Tribulations.

But hey. The creators of the Ace Attorney series made another game, similar to Phoenix Wright.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

And let me tell you: you have never played anything like this.

The story in a nutshell. You play as Sissel. Or rather as his spirit, because Sissel is dead. Why did he die? That's what you are supposed to find out in this game.

Sissel's spirit "wakes up" at a junkyard, looking at his own dead body. Not knowing what's going on around him, a young lady gets shot by a mysterious assassin. Sissel learns to use his so-called "ghost tricks" with which he can manipulate objects in his vicinity. For example, he can possess a ball to make it roll to another place so Sissel can reach objects farther away.


This is Lynne, Sissel's red-haired helper. And she's about to die. Too bad.

That alone is a pretty cool system but the real candy is his ability to connect to a dead body, talk to the spirit of the departed and go back in time to four minutes before their deaths. In these four minutes, Sissel can manipulate objects to prevent the person's death.

While in "ghost mode", time stands still and you can move freely between objects, try to interact with them and see the outcome. Some are downright hilarious.

As said, your main objective in Ghost Trick is to find out why Sissel had to die and who killed him. The characters and story are awesome (those dudes over at Capcom must be some bunch of story- and character whiz-kids) and the animation is ... wow. Yes. It's glorious 2D sprites! I have never seen such fluid and beautiful animation in a 2D game period.

I swear, if you are the least bit of a text-adventure lover or if you liked the Ace Attorney games, check this out. Hell, even if you are not a text-adventure lover, give Ghost Trick a chance. In case the end of the game makes your head explode or something, don't worry. As long as there is someone like Sissel, you don't have to fear death ever again. Unless he doesn't see you die. It's just tough luck, then.

Nintendo 3DS - Real 3D without glasses!

Real 3D without the need of stupid looking glasses? Yes. Features big name games like Pilotwings, Nintendogs, Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda, Star Fox, Street Fighter, Resident Evil and even Kid Icarus.

Just look at this beast. Two screens, one is a fully functional touch screen, the other can display real 3D images. The slider on the right side of the top screen can be used to adjust the intensity of the 3D effects. Are your eyes tired? Turn that 3D off!

There is even an analog stick. Remember the good old N64 days? 360 degrees of freedom? IT'S BACK WITH A VENGEANCE, BABY!

The 3DS has several new functions like the newly implemented Home menu. Access the most important options ingame with the push of a button. Oh, and it has like 5,000 cameras in it. For shooting photos of your face - IN 3D! Not to mention all the other body parts you can take pictures of. Just don't go and poke your eye out.

The 3D effects cannot be seen on recorded video. That's a shame. But I guarantee that if you see the new handheld in action, it will blow your brains out. It's just that awesome.

The 3DS will be released on March 25 2011 in Europe and March 27 2011 in America.
