As I experience transitions (seasons), it is my desire to use my testimony to share with others to help them. Often times we want what we want when we want it. In others words, we can't wait for God to give us what He has for us in His time, we go ahead and move in our own time. We want the candlelight before the omelet. And please don't skip the coffee...

I am amazed at how many people have experienced this besides myself. Society has progressed so drastically. A lot of things are so instant. There is text messaging, checking prices on cell phones, watching live church service on the internet, and so on.

I am the youngest of six kids and realized that I am a spoiled brat. I have come to realize that I was given all the things I needed and wanted. Later in life, I did not know this would hinder me. Waiting for anything was not an option for me.I would see what I wanted and insisted on having it. I realize now how I caused my own frustrations, turmoil, a couple of relationships that never progressed, and so on. God in His infinite wisdom began speaking to me. Isaiah 40:31, But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. So God said, Wait! There I sat in the Waiting Room for a little less than a year.

Well, the wait is over! My due season is here and the best is yet to come! It is my desire to give someone hope and courage to wait on God. He will give you the desires of your heart. Like Bishop Blake says, I see you in the future and you look better than you do right now!

Blessings and glory, and honor, they all belong to You;thank You Jesus for blessing me".

As Mother Willie Mae Rivers, General Supervisor of the Women's Dept. National Church of God in Christ would say, "All the Glory, All the Honor, All the Praise, belong to our God".

Cheryl Pollard says to you today that I praise and magnify God for everything! The Bible says in all things Give thanks to our God. I have been on a journey...trials...test...and simply a "faithwalk". I praise God in the good and the bad.

I thought about saying God is simply Amazing...but guess what? God is more than that! I am in awe in how things are working out for my good. I just want you to know that miracles that occurred during Bible days they still happen. God still works miracles. And whatever God has promised you will come to pass. Have you ever known God to lie? I'll answer that for you...NO! God won't lie.

I learned how to "pray in the already". I pray knowing that it's already done. I pray asking God in His name and then I thank Him. Once I've prayed, it's already spoken into the atmosphere. That thing that I prayed for is already set into motion and I just thank God and praise Him.

The Bible says, God is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him. It wasn't until all focus was on God that the atmosphere begin to change. I began feeling a shift in the atmosphere. This paradigm shift that I'm feeling did not occur just one day, it's all day everyday! Just awesome!

I sum it all up by saying, Praise God through trials, tribulations, good times and bad. Whatever God has promised, He's still going to do it. Pray knowing that it's already done. And seek God with your whole heart, mind and soul.

Be Blessed

The Power Is On!!!

Have you ever came home from work and flipped the switch to turn the light on and nothing happened? No, not you. Well the truth of the matter is that it happened to me once in my lifetime.
There was a process to getting turned back on. I had to find the bill, then hurry to go pay it before the store closes. Then I had to call the company back to give them a code. After waiting a period of time the power was back on.
My point is don't let the enemy find you so weak that your power get turned off. The enemy walked in my office with a lot of questions. I recognized as soon as the questions began who I was dealing with and how I would respond. I thank God for being taught spiritual warfare at Starlight COGIC. I called the devil out right then and there and casted him back to the pit of hell.
And my point is??? Don't get caught in a weak state. The enemy is watching your every move. But wait we already have the Victory!!! Don't get caught having to go through a process simply because you are allowing yourself to be weak. Meditate in the Word day and night, fast, pray, and always praise and worship the God of our Salvation.
If the enemy comes and try to turn your power off, give the enemy a black eye. Keep your armour on and remember spiritual warfare. The bible states in Luke 10:19 "Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you." Keep your POWER ON!!!

Blood is Thicker Than Water

And I struggled for awhile finishing my book, He Spoke to Me. My deadline for the book was August 2011 and here we are August 2011. God the all knowing God that He is knew that He would speak to me and give me the last words to finish the book. And then today was Family and Friends Day at church, God surely spoke to me.
All BECAUSE OF THE BLOOD.
"The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin" (I John 7). The Son is He "who came not by water only but by water and blood" (v. 6).
He completed the great work of His life by giving it " as a ransom for many," He instituted the Lord’s Supper, saying-" This cup is the New Testament in MY BLOOD that is shed for you and for many for the remission of sins. Drink ye all of it." (Matt. 28). "without shedding of blood there is no remission of sins." Without remission of sins there is no life. But by the shedding of His BLOOD He has obtained a new life for us. By what He calls " the drinking of His blood " He shares His life with us. The blood SHED in the Atonement, which frees us from the SIN, the guilt of sin; and from death, the punishment of sin; the blood, which by faith we drink, bestows on us His life. The BLOOD He shed was, in the first place FOR us, and is then given TO us.
Later on in Revelation, John stood out on Mt. Transfiguration and seen a number which no man could number, he was told in reply to his question as to who they were, "They have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."
And the songwriter says, “What can wash away my sins, nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again, nothing but the blood of Jesus. I’m so thankful for the blood. Thank God for redemption. Because of the blood, I am chosen.
He could have chosen anybody He chose me. He chose me…I didn’t choose Him. Sometimes there are issues with being chosen. Like Peter, He denied Jesus, he wanted no association. He knew what would happen of the thought of the very idea of being connected with Jesus. Like Peter, there is often fret of being associated with Jesus. There is condemnation. I am called to be blessed! I am chosen to bring forth fruit! Fruitful in my finances, fruitful in my family, fruitful spiritually, fruitful emotionally. I don’t have time to be distressed because of all those things, because I am chosen. How do you fit in with a family that’s not even your family? You don’t fit in. Someone may say, “Get in where you fit in.” No way, you’re chosen. They may say, “C’mon just get in the mix”. Just tell them you’re chosen, set apart. What God has for me is for me and no weapon formed against me shall prosper. What God placed inside of me will come to pass. I am chosen.
People will try to cause conflict with you because you are chosen. When they come knocking at your door don’t let them in. If they call you with confusion end the conversation. Don’t take the bait. People will be jealous of you because you are chosen. Tell them to put their hater shades on because God is elevating you because you are chosen.
It’s all because of the blood. Family members often say blood is thicker than water. Well, what are they trying to say? Family first, than others. Let’s trace back our lineage. Genetically, are we not blood kindred. Okay, let’s move forward before we get too deep.
Single women like me often like the idea of family and being a part of a family other than their own. The idea sounds exciting and in actuality can be somewhat exciting. A Christian single woman knows her place. She knows who she is. She knows that God is first in her life. And it’s the blood of Jesus Christ that allows her to be chosen. The Blood that she knows is deeper than any kindred relationships.
A Christian single woman knows how to be “in the mix” and captures the attention of others with them thinking there is something different about her. It doesn’t take a short dress and a lot of make up to turn the heads of people. Her confidence in Jesus makes her stand out. She’s a chosen one.
A Christian single woman is intelligent and knows God. She knows Him as a Provider, a Healer, a Waymaker, a Strong Tower. She’s not a know it all because she realizes that learning is ongoing. She is teachable and willing to learn. She knows that it is in Jesus that she find wisdom and knowledge. And oh my, she is willing to be corrected. One thing she knows for sure is that God speaks to her and that it is because of the blood of Jesus that she is here today.
Personally, I am thankful to all the people that have allowed me to grow in God and I plea the blood of Jesus against all those that try to hinder progress.

HE SPOKE TO ME

This is an excerpt from my upcoming book, "He Spoke To Me". The book is totally inspired by God because "He speaks to me". Be blessed!

Chapter 1
He Spoke to Me

2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)
16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

I was pulling in my driveway just coming home from church when I looked across the street. There he was standing 6 feet looking like what I consider a tall glass of Uptown (Uptown in NY, NJ, and ATL is a mixture of sweet tea and lemonade). All I could think of is, “ooh there he is”! Then it happened, “Hey, Cheryl how are you doing:? He spoke to me! All kinds of feelings begin to stir up. Covering my mouth “Wow, he spoke to me”. That’s how it all started, just because, “he spoke to me”.

“He Spoke to Me” is my testimony. In January of each year I go on a 21 day Daniel’s Fast. The first year I was working in a chemical plant working shift work. I was fasting, praying, and reading my Bible while at work. The Holy Spirit was all over me. I felt like I was glowing like a candlestick. Then suddenly a beam of light came through an opening in the warehouse. This light was brighter than any light I had ever seen. I stood out on a platform in the chemical unit. As I looked out into the atmosphere on this clear day, plant workers were taking apart a distillation column. The workers were completing a “turnaround” on the vessel. They first purged the vessel to clean it out, and then shut it down, and began taking it apart. After pressure washing it thoroughly, they put the vessel back together again. As I continued to stand there, God spoke clearly and said, “It’s Turnaround Time”.
That’s where it all started, just because “God spoke to me”.

My Place in This World

Keeping all things in perspective I have to remember that this is a blog. I’ve been led to write about this for a couple of reasons that’s deeply ingrounded in me.
Often people do not know their purpose, they have no vision, and have no goals in life. Then, there are people that have goals and a vision but their goals are so broad that there is never completion of anything. You have to be focused. The tools in your heart have to match the information in your head.
Proverbs 29:18 states, 18Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Habbakuk 2:2 states, 2And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
First of all, you’ve got to have a vision. After you have prayed and God has revealed to you your vision then, write it down. What seems simple to some people is not really that simple to others and we must keep that in mind.
A goal is to get what you see on the inside to happen on the outside. Then at some point, you must measure where you are against where you have been. In the business world it’s called a baseline. So when you get there you can say this is where I was, this is where I've been, and now I've made it.
My Place in This World
What is your place in this world? What do you mean “my place in this world”? Some seem to think that their purpose is to satisfy and please themselves. Really? Yes, really. It is quite selfish to believe that it’s all about you.

“My Place in This World” is inspired by the gospel singer, Michael W. White. A few of the lyrics says, “I’m looking for a reason to find my place in this world”. After hearing the song, the words appeared as though they encircled around my atmosphere. The words begin to deal with me on a personal level then I got to my office and began to sing the lyrics.

“The wind is moving but I am standing still
A life of pages waiting to be filled
A heart that’s hopeful
A head that’s full of dreams
But this is becoming harder than it seems
Feels like I’m looking for a reason
Roaming through the night to find
My place in this world”

Then a divine intervention occurred. A student that keeps changing her major came into my office and began her change of major discussion. She began saying, “I thought I wanted to be a nurse for me to learn how to take care of myself”. So I said, “I’m listening”. She stated, “That’s it”. I began talking to her about everything we do in life is not about us. What about other people? What about their needs? Are we put on this earth to take care of just us? So I asked her, “Have you found your place in this world”?

I say to you "Where is your place in this world"?

Wings Like an Eagle

Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.
When someone waits on the Lord, their eyesight gets better. They are able to see things in a new way. This time when they read the scripture, the Holy Spirit opens up their understanding. When they write the vision down, as it states in Habakkuk, it will be a God given vision.
The eagle has excellent eyesight! It is capable of seeing fish in the water from several hundred feet above, while soaring and gliding. An eagle's eye is almost as large as a human's, but its sharpness is at least four times that of a person with perfect vision. The eagle can probably identify a rabbit moving almost a mile away.
Just imagine that while you are staying focused with no distractions you are have the ability to have insight and soaring into the plans that God has for you.
Oh yes, the person that waits shall have renewed strength. Hallelujah! Power from our God Almighty because He is Power! Strength like that of an eagle!
How about mounting up with wings as an eagle? That would be a humanly awesome feat all by itself. The wings of eagles are powerful and eagles often use them with great skill. Eagles know how to climb high into the air without working too hard.
Imagine, once again, soaring high and not having to work very hard to soar. The very thought of being asked to fill a job that you thought you wasn’t qualified to do in what the government calls a recession. Not filling out an application for a job but being told “we want you”. The favor of God and you waiting patiently is allowing you to soar higher than you could ever imagine.
Sometimes, an eagle is able to take advantage of natural currents of air to help it rise. When wind runs into a hill or a mountain, it is forced upward - and the eagle can go along for the ride. This kind of air current is called a slope updraft. Just like an eagle, as we are waiting on God and He is renewing our strength, we breathe in fresh air. The Holy Spirit encompasses us. As we soar higher there is an updraft and we go higher in the Lord.
Eagles fly with other eagles. Wow! I wonder why an eagle would fly with something that just may not be going in the same direction with them anyway. It’s really hard to explain to someone how you have experienced the awesomeness of God, if they don’t desire to know Him. It is quite hard to conversate with someone that does not have an interest in our Creator, the maker of heaven and earth. It is hard to express to someone that you have been filled with the Holy Ghost and they have no desire to be filled. It’s easy to share your experience with another eagle…
Another key fact about an eagle is that when it is paired with another eagle, they remain together until one dies. Enough said!

"It's Complicated"

The next upcoming movie is entitled, “It’s Complicated”. Although it’s the title of a movie, is it really complicated? Often times on social networking sites there will be a question on the site, “Are you in a relationship”? Sometimes the answer will be, “it’s complicated”. Is it really or do we make it complicated. It seems as simple as, we are in a relationship or we are not. Often people define relationship as being synonymous with commitment. The fear of commitment segues into the next area, shades of gray.
Some people believe everything should be black and white with no shades of gray. Of course, black and white make everything clear with no doubt and no hesitation. Gray brings about complication with unsurety, wavering, lack of trust, straddling the fence, extramarital affairs, to name a few. People often try to make the gray area (complication) correct with detailed justification as to why it’s complicated. People can attempt to justify anything; however, that does not make it right.
What if the question on Facebook, Twitter, and other sites asked, “Are you in a relationship with God”? What will the answer be? Is it complicated? Surely, the person who answers yes knows who God is to them and communicates often with God. They are sure of their relationship with God, they trust God, and there is no other higher power. But just what if someone puts, “it’s complicated”. What makes your relationship with God complicated? Someone may say, I’m just not there yet there are some things I still want to do. So we know what that means they still want to get some “stuff out their system”. Well, in the corporate world, its call a WIP, “Work In Progress”. No one is perfect; God is still working out some things in each one of us.
And surely, when you have a relationship with God all other relationships will “not be complicated”. When a man finds a wife he finds a good thing and finds favor from God (Proverbs 18:22), and it’s not complicated. Sometimes the verse is misinterpreted as though it reads when a man finds a woman he finds a good thing. It then gets complicated. A woman has to be whole. She has to know God and be fully restored from past hurts and pains. She becomes a wife in her spirit before she literally becomes a wife. And “It’s Not Complicated”!

He Chose You!

He Chose You
Have you ever wondered why was I chosen? What did I do to be chosen? Why me? Out of all my friends…me? Out of all of my family members…me? Out of all of my classmates…me? He chose you…Now what?
Your life is seen as amazing! You were chosen! This is enough to start praising God right now. Don’t forget live your chosen life with caution, someone’s watching you, sometimes it is the only Bible they read. Often times people want to see how you do certain things, how you go through trials, and how you communicate in stressful situations. And yes, some people just want to watch you, do you. And I say to those people, watch me because I was chosen. God’s has revealed who you are and you should know whose you are. You are a child of the King. The cattle on a thousand hills belong to Him. In my Father’s house are many mansions. Since my Father is the King, I am of Royalty. Since I am His and he is mine, I don’t act any kind of way and I don’t talk any kind of way. Knowing who you are is amazing and whose you are is amazing!
Mary Mary sings, “if you are not sure about what you see…it’s the God in Me”! People at work know that there is something different about you but can’t quite put their finger on it. You don’t have to tell them what it is; they will soon see it’s the God in you because you were chosen. They wonder how you can tolerate workplace issues but little do they know you are excited because many are called but few are chosen and this life of Royalty is wonderful. It makes you get a little preach in you…I know a man that sits high and looks low! I know a man that heals the sick! I know a man that’s a way maker!
You are chosen…now what? You have been commissioned to do a job. Who are you witnessing to in the neighborhood? Who are you witnessing to when the opportunity presents itself at work? Who are you witnessing to “in the highways and byways”? Other people need to know God as a Healer, as a Waymaker, as a Strong tower.
What is your God given Purpose? Do you know? Have you prayed and asked God for revelation on your purpose? God has commissioned me to tell people everywhere that, “It’s Turnaround Time” and through telling them God said it’s time to go through a metamorphosis that people will get to know him and some will know Him in very big way. I tell people at work, online, at church, my family how it’s time for a turnaround,
So, my brother and sister, if you were chosen, it’s time for you to do you. Do you, as it is God’s will for you to do, because you are Chosen. Praise God!

Never Would’ve Made It

Never Would've Made It…A song written by Marvin Sapp. Who would have ever imagined that this song would touch so many lives? You would hear it loudly playing in a store as someone's mobile ringtone; it's downloaded to an mp3 player or Ipod for workout music. The song is still being sung nationwide in many churches. Have you ever wondered why?

Many people identify with the lyrics realizing God was there for them in whatever situation they were going through. People realized that if their valley experience was divorce, financial problems, in between jobs, a piece of a job, little or no food, they never would have made it, without God. I heard someone say, right when I thought all hell broke loose, But God! God seen fit to keep them! That's Awesome!

Marvin Sapp says, "I'm Stronger, I'm Wiser, I'm Better, Much Better". Isn't that something, you have to go in the valley in order to get stronger, wiser, better, much better. Realizing that God was there all the time, we get a "Suddenly" down in our spirit. "Suddenly" we're stronger, "Suddenly" we're wiser, "Suddenly" we're better, oh we're much better! Psalms 55:22 says, "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved". Well, since the Word says it, we should believe it!

We should pray and ask God specifically what we need in the situation and/or be delivered from in the situation. And sometimes we have to go through the situation (valley). The next time we think about praying about the valley experience we should praise God thanking him for delivering us out of the valley or helping us go through the valley. We should thank him because once we asked him what we needed in the beginning and spoke it out in the atmosphere believing, it's already done!

Certainly, We Never Could Have Made It, Without God!

It Takes Teamwork to Make the Dream Work!

Although my blog would have you to think about sports vs. academics, I would be amiss to not mention how Jesus used teamwork to spread the Word. As Jesus preached, he did not do it alone he had a team. Jesus was the Coach and the twelve disciples were the team. The Coach ,the team along with others put into place the Bible...a success story if we follow it. It takes "teamwork to make the dreamwork".

More often than not, sports are often a measure of success in high school. There are sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, etc. that have more parental and fan focus than academics. A major theme here is sports vs. academics.

Young football players strive hard on the field to get scholarships to go college and play football, however, sometimes have to go to a junior college because they are not prepared academically. High school grades and SAT/ACT scores are equally important when trying to get a scholarship at a university. Learning is a constant in life.

So where do we go from here. What do parents do regarding their student and extracurricular activities? Parents need to be involved in the education of their child by going to orientation, parent teaching meetings, and asking often about school. After the parent identifies that their student has an academic weakness, they should do all that they can to help the student get the appropriate help. Parents are the major player on the team that will help the student be academically successful.

Students sometimes can use help from someone other than their parents to help them succeed. A mentor is a person that the student can directly identify with and can help the student lead toward goals. The mentor can check on the student at school at least once a week. If nothing else, the mentor can be the encourager to help the student focus on school assignments. The mentor is another teamwork player to help the students dream work.

The Coach can also motivate the student to be all they can be academically. No pass…No play need to be strictly enforced. The student need to know that there are consequences to not succeeding academically. Just like college success stories, tutors need to be provided to assist students that do not understand what is being taught in class. The Coach can also encourage the parent to not only be involved and participate in sport activities but in all academic activities, as well. The Coach is the team member that can communicate with the student, the parent, the mentor, and teachers.

And yes, teachers are vital in a student's education. The teacher should encourage students to be very organized by using a planner to keep up with assignments, test, and projects as they correlate with sports activities. If the student slows down academically, the teacher facilitates a team meeting that consists of the student, parent/family member, the Coach, the Mentor. This group will provide "teamwork to make the dream work".

A football team going to state is great, however, an academically empowered team is a success!

As I stood out looking across the plant, there were workers in a unit completing a "Turnaround" .

During the turnaround the workers were breaking down a distillation column. They washed and cleaned up pieces of equipment that was dirty. They cleaned nuts and bolts that held the equipment together. After the cleansing, the equipment was put back together, powered up, and started back up to produce products.

As I looked out, God said, "It's Turnaround Time". It's time for people to be broken down, cleansed and purified, put back together again, and function as "a new creature, old things passed away, all things brand new". God clearly spoke and said that there would be people that had to go through some things. The key word is "go through". They can't give up, they have to get to the other side of "through". The people would have to lean not to their own understanding but acknowledge Him, as they go through. God would then cleanse and purify them, making them "whiter than snow". When they are cleaned up, they are given strength and boldness through Jesus Christ. The cleaned up Saint will be given power to trample over serpents. Well, Praise God!

The Saint is given tools to use to assist in the "turnaround":

meditate in the Bible day and night

pray

fast

praise and worship God

worship with other believers

separate yourself from people not headed in the same direction you are headed

Be Blessed!!!
