The title is the most important part of a website. The title is supposed to tell the reader as well as the search engine what a page is about. It contains a brief description of the page and the most important keywords should be here. It’s good to know that each page should have a title and all titles must be unique. To submit in website’s directories, you need a title, description and some keywords representative for your website.  Usually, the title has the link to your website, so the search engine associates the title with the relevance of your website. It’s my favorite Marketing strategy! I believe that everything which is free attracts people. Many of today’s corporations have based their entire way of doing business on this strategy.

FreeThe strategy is simple; giving something valuable for free creates a motion. It’s like induction, I give you something and your instinct is to give me something back. But now, when everything is for free the second step disappeared and people are confused. This will lead to another strategy, the viral marketing, which is like a virus: “Go there; they give us something for free!”. And the viral marketing comes with another strategy, mass marketing (mass media will speculate this moment for creating a new story). People will speak about your business on their blogs, at their workplaces and everywhere else.

But where is the business?? The business is in guiding this motion into something more valuable. The most important thing is to have the people on your side. This simple strategy made from Google the most important Internet Corporation. Google starts and continues to offer free internet services but at the same time sells billions of dollars through advertising to us. Many other leading websites use the same strategy: Skype offers free internet video and voice calls, Facebook gives access to free social networking, Flicker and Trillian are other examples and the list can continue.

I smile when I see this strategy applied at the workplace, where the company offers us a training session in Japan or gives us a car to drive, a mobile phone or a laptop to use. This makes the employees to feel very happy and determines them to consider that they go on vacation or drive their car on the company’s expenses. This is totally wrong, because they are just victims of “feels like free” Marketing strategy. The employees will “pay” for all these 40 hours of work per week.

So, through “feels like free” strategy you can use the customers as a bridge for reaching your vision. All you have to do is find out what the customer really needs and then you have to give him what he desires. Besides that, you can also offer things that “guide” him in making your vision come true.

It will be “Bing it” the new expression?

BingThe speculation is over. Microsoft’s search engine officially has a new name, Bing. Bing  will be available to American users on 3 June, and UK users should have access to a beta version. AdAge published this week an article in which they told us that Microsoft will invest an $80 to $100 million ad campaign. Google, by comparison, spent a total of $25 million on ads in 2008. Ads will appear on the web,  on  TV, radio,  in newspapers and magazines.

The software giant is set to launch an $80 million to $100 million campaign for Bing, the search engine it hopes will help it grab a bigger slice of the online ad market. That’s a big campaign — big compared with consumer-product launches ($50 million is considered a sizable budget for a national rollout) and very big when you consider that Google spent about $25 million on all its advertising last year, according to TNS Media Intelligence, with about $11.6 million of that focused on recruiting. Microsoft, by comparison, spent $361 million. Certainly Google has never faced an ad assault of anything like this magnitude.

JWT has been tapped for the push, which will include online, TV, print and radio. Another sign of the campaign’s size: At a time when most agencies are laying people off, JWT added creatives on the Microsoft business last week.

People with knowledge of the planned push said the ads won’t go after Google, or Yahoo for that matter, by name. Instead, they’ll focus on planting the idea that today’s search engines don’t work as well as consumers previously thought by asking them whether search (aka Google) really solves their problems. That, Microsoft is hoping, will give consumers a reason to consider switching search engines, which, of course, is one of Bing’s biggest challenges.

I’ll present in this article some Marketing techniques to make your merchandise more “salesable”.

Make contests in which in order to win, participants will have to write a composition in which they’ll have to name the main features of the product that you’re going to sell. To write something decent, the consumer will obviously try to find positive characteristics of the product. It may seem a little strange, but in this situation you will be the one to win! The consumers will be influenced by what they wrote and they will become faithful customers (even if they won’t be the ones winning the contest).

Lure the customer! Lure Technique is one of the techniques that is used the most for attracting consumers. What you need to do is to promote on the market some products whose price is much lower than the one used by the competition. The rule is that each promotion to be held under the slogan of “limited stock “. In this way the consumer will be attracted by the low prices and he will visit your store. Now is the critical moment for you. The consumer is in your store and the “limited offer just ended”. The product has now another price, a higher one. In almost all cases, the consumer will not leave empty-handed as you’ll offer something almost identical, or the same product, but of course at a higher price.

Always start with the most expensive! When you show the products to the clients, always start with the most expensive one. Even if your instinct “forces” you to do exactly the opposite, surveys have proven that, by showing the most expensive products first sales increase almost 3 times. Obviously, when you gradually show products that are cheaper and cheaper, consumers are under the impression that the price is lower and lower and this makes them buy more. In any case, if you are lucky, the customer can directly buy the most expensive product.

Sell yourself before you sell a product! Make your brand stand out; create a brand image that will sell your product. If you are a professional, if you consider yourself a perfectionist and if you always want to do things better, your employees will see that and the quality of their work will be much higher, resulting in a big sales increase. Further more, the customer will immediately become aware of this and your ROI (rate of return) will rise.
