November 2025 Life Recap — Highlights, Personal Growth & Favorites

It’s time to recap what happened in November 2025, along with some side stories and things to look forward to in December.

November went by quickly, starting with my birthday weekend celebration with my siblings, niece, and nephew. I also achieved a personal milestone by completing the final leg of the Rexona 10 Miler (16 km) race series, which was an incredible feeling. Additionally, I visited Cebu with my coworkers for the Thanksgiving holiday. Let’s begin.

Turning 32 at LarryCille’s Garden, Tagaytay

Last November 9, I turned 32. I had planned a weekend getaway with my siblings starting the night before my birthday. Unfortunately, a super typhoon (Typhoon Uwan) was approaching. I thought a lot about it and asked my siblings if they still wanted to go. Since the accommodation had already been paid for and the weather report showed no rain on November 8, we agreed to go ahead.

Day 1 went smoothly. I celebrated with my siblings, my niece, and my nephew at LarryCille’s Garden in Tagaytay. It was a brief escape from the city noise, yet spacious enough for laughter, karaoke, swimming, and sharing BBQ and grilled seafood. Since my parents were in the province, we called them via video call right before singing the birthday song.

Once November 9 arrived, it kept raining nonstop. I had planned a 32 km birthday run, but I decided not to do it because of the weather.

Overall, I am grateful to celebrate another year of my life with my family.

FRIENDS x McDonald’s Toys: Collection Complete!

When McDonald’s launched the FRIENDS collectible toys, I knew I had to gather every one. It was a great chance to acquire authentic FRIENDS memorabilia at a lower price. I began with Phoebe and Joey, then slowly completed the entire set. As a dedicated FRIENDS fan, it made for a wonderful birthday gift.

Reunited at SM MOA with Joey and China

November brought a reunion with my work friends, Joey and China, turned friends for life! We met at SM Mall of Asia, had lunch at Chili’s, played at Timezone, and caught up as if no time had gone by.

There’s a special comfort in reconnecting with those who have seen you through desk lunches, deadlines, and office chaos — and still choose to be part of your life beyond work.

Rexona 10-Miler Quezon City

The Rexona Race Series officially concluded this month, and I crossed my final finish line with my fastest 16km yet during the Rexona 10-Miler Quezon City leg. One reason I participated in this race series was to earn the Conqueror’s Medal. It’s a special medal awarded only to those who complete all six city legs.

Overwhelmed and Grateful. Those are the two words that echoed as I crossed that finish line. I am excited to share more of my running journey in the blog soon.

Car Camping for My Youngest Sister’s Birthday

We celebrated my youngest sister’s special day in Bridgetown, Pasig City, in a car-camping style. There were no big plans. We simply enjoyed take-out food and dined together in an open parking lot, sharing conversations that led to inside jokes - as always!

I’m really proud of my youngest sister. She’s navigating adult life and making big decisions along the way. I’m glad she’s finding her footing.

Cebu Trip with My Workmates

I work with a US-based company, so I observe US holidays. Thanksgiving is one of the biggest holidays I look forward to because it includes a paid holiday for two days.

In addition, we usually get together to celebrate. When you work remotely, the times you can gather in person become opportunities you don’t want to miss. This year, we went to Cebu.

It was my second time in Cebu, but it felt like a brand-new destination. Here’s a quick view of everything we did for the November 27-29 trip.

I enjoyed a spa session at Tree Shade Spa. It was excellent, and I will definitely return for another visit.
Of course, the runcation continues. I finally experienced the CCLEX run, something I missed since the last time I went to Cebu, I wasn’t into running yet.
I also visited the National Museum of Cebu. It was one of the most enlightening experiences during my trip.
And the lechon! No trip to Cebu is complete without it.

Noel Bazaar with Nica

Nica and I’s Noel Bazaar tradition has reach its tenth year in 2025. It’s hard to believe. It was Nica who initially introduced me to the bazaars, and I’m grateful for having a regular, meaningful activity we share as best friends.

This year’s highlight? My new training shoes, Adidas EVO SL. Nica recommended I buy the color beige, and I’m so glad I followed her advice because they look A-MAZ-ING. I also tested them already for runs, and I love them!

November 2025 Personal Growth Update

I started reading Numbers and have been adding Psalms and Proverbs daily as well.
I finished reading three books: George Orwell's 1984, the novel Small Things Like These, and Cho Nam-joo's Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982.
I ran a total of 76.99 km in November.
I had a great birthday and birth month, celebrating with family and meeting friends.

November 2025 Favorites

Beauty - Honestly, I don't have a favorite beauty product for November this year.

Movie/Show - For some reason, I spent the month rewatching Attack on Titan and some episodes of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. I also binge-watched Stranger Things Season 5 on Netflix as soon as it was released and revisited previous seasons and episodes for a recap.

Song - The Attack on Titan Essentials playlist on Apple Music was a fantastic discovery for me, featuring all the theme songs from Attack on Titan.

Looking Ahead to Next Month

Since this is the final month of the year, I decided to revisit and recalibrate my 2026 goals. I began December by listing the key things I aim to accomplish, and I am hopeful that I will achieve them.

I don’t have any major plans for this month and am still uncertain about where and how we will celebrate Christmas and New Year.

September & October 2025 Recap — Highlights & What’s Next

It's time to recap what happened in September and October 2025, along with some side stories and things to look forward to in the coming months.

The months of September and October. September was the month I took my first solo trip, completed another 10-miler race, and attended the Baha sa Luneta on September 21.

I felt a little spoiled in October, as I was able to watch Hamilton in the theater and experience The FRIENDS Experience - The One in Manila. I also officially became a half-marathoner! Let's begin.

September and October Highlights

Solo Travel in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

From September 1 to 6, I took my first solo international trip to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. How wonderful it is to explore a new place at my own pace and learn how to be comfortable with my own company.

Vietnam is an excellent choice for a female solo traveler. It was loud and gentle at the same time. If you enjoy coffee, good food, and rich history, I highly recommend it. I will be creating a series of content about my solo trip to Ho Chi Minh City, so stay tuned.

Rexona Metro Manila 10 Miler Series - Makati Leg

Another month, another race. Running has truly become a part of my life now. Last September 14, I completed the Makati Leg of the Rexona Metro Manila 10 Miler Series.

Makati feels very nostalgic to me because I spent almost 7 years working at Ayala, Makati. Running along the same streets I used to commute to and from work brought back many memories. Every corner of my run tells a story —a chapter of my life filled with growth, challenges, and unforgettable experiences.

I was unable to finish the race in under two hours this time, unlike during the event on August 3 at the Rexona 10 Miler in Parañaque, where I successfully achieved a sub-2-hour finish. Still, I had a great time, and I am just happy we are almost at the end of the series.

Baha sa Luneta Rally Experience

Last September 21, I went with my youngest sister to join the Baha sa Luneta protest. This was a new experience for me, as I come from a state university and had never participated in a rally before. However, the ongoing flood-control ghost project in the country was different.

This was a clear lie and an example of corruption I simply couldn’t accept. Being around a large number of Filipinos stirs up strong emotions in me. I truly hope things will get better in our country. We deserve better governance, especially with the massive tax we are mandated to pay.

It's difficult not to feel a mix of hope and frustration, but I remain committed to believing in a brighter future for the Philippines.

Meet up with Ma’am Lanie and Espren Steph

Before September ended, I caught up with two of the most important people in my life—Ma’am Lanie, my spiritual mom, and Steph, my best friend.

I’ve known Ma’am Lanie since she was the one who introduced me to God back in college. We met to catch up on life, her engagement (waaaahhh), and we even bonded over a derma session. Haha.

Steph, on the other hand, was my high school classmate, and I have been her best friend ever since. I am also her child’s godmother. We try to meet as often as possible, and I’m happy I get to give her my Vietnam pasalubong. We ate samgyeopsal, talked about life updates, and had coffee afterward.

I will always be deeply grateful to God for blessing me with wonderful friends who walk alongside me through life's journey. Their friendship brings joy, support, and meaning to each day, and I cherish every moment we share together.

Watching Hamilton in the Cinema

Last July, I became obsessed with Hamilton. It was nonstop, on repeat, from watching it on Disney to listening to the musical album. I even played Hamilton during my races.

Hamilton celebrated its 10th anniversary and announced a cinema release, initially only in the United States. By the last week of September, lo and behold, the Philippine release happened. I was so happy. I immediately booked the cinema tickets and went with my youngest sister.

The Hamilton in the cinema is essentially the same as what you can watch on Disney+, but I still had a great time experiencing it on the big screen. I was singing the whole time. And what did I do as soon as we were back at home? I watched the entire play again on Disney+ HAHA.

PUMA Manila Half Marathon

On October 4th, I officially became a half-marathoner. Wow! Even as I write this, I still find it hard to believe that I’ve run 21.1 km. It’s a significant achievement for me, especially considering I never saw myself as someone who would enjoy running someday or be capable of completing such a distance.

I tried to follow a training plan for this half-marathon journey, but I have to admit that I missed a few days. When I finished a Sub-3 half-marathon, I was over the moon. The route really motivated me to push through. I always enjoy the Manila route, where I can run along Roxas Boulevard, Luneta Park, Manila City Hall, Binondo, and Intramuros.

I’m super proud of this milestone and excited to see where my running journey takes me next.

Spent the Weekend at My Kuya’s in Cavite

I spent a quick weekend at my Kuya's house in Cavite. They had to attend an important event and kindly asked if I was okay to stay at their place to help look after my nephew, Lyron, and their dogs. It was a short but nice visit, and I made the most of my time there. I managed to run, cook for Lyron, help feed the dogs, and bond with my sister-in-law’s parents.

The FRIENDS Experience - The One in Manila

I feel so excited thinking about The FRIENDS Experience, which I enjoyed with my best friend, Nica. I shared all about the experience in this post.

To recap, the FRIENDS Experience exhibit has finally arrived in Manila, and it's a show where you can immerse yourself in the FRIENDS set. I love FRIENDS and have watched the entire series several times, so this was such an incredible experience.

September and October 2025 Personal Growth Update

Here are the things I’ve done in terms of personal growth:

I finished reading and studying Exodus and Leviticus.
I managed to journal, which supported my mental well-being. I enjoyed writing about my first solo travel experience, things I’m grateful for, and just daily gratitude.
I had a great reading experience, finishing four books in total: The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley, Yellowface by R.F. Kuang, Strange Houses, and Strange Pictures by Uketsu.
I ran 78.36 km in September and 86.19 km in October. It’s a little below my 100 km per month goal, but I still stayed close.
I spent meaningful moments reconnecting with Ma’am Lanie and Espren Steph. After visiting the FRIENDS exhibit with Nica, we had dinner and caught up on life. I also deepened my connection with my family and stayed close despite the distance. The weekend with my Kuya’s was a wonderful surprise, as well as watching Hamilton with my youngest sister.

September and October 2025 Favorites

Beauty - I’ve been using the Vice Cosmetics Jelly Tint. I just have a different appreciation for it. I love how easy it is to apply and how it adds color to my face. I use it during my run because it’s lightweight, and aside from sunscreen, a lip tint is the only product I usually use.

Movie/Show - I’ve been rewatching the television show FRIENDS ever since I visited the exhibit related to the series. Additionally, in late October, I started watching Physical Asia on Netflix, and I have to say, the show is fantastic. I’m proud to see representation from the Philippines in it, like Manny Pacquiao! I actually watched all the Physical franchise from First Draft to Physical 100 Season 1 and Season 2.

Song - I’ve been listening a lot to Olivia Dean’s newest album - “The Art of Loving.” It’s a fantastic collection of songs that really hits you deep. I can’t pick just one song from the entire album, as every song feels like my favorite.

Looking Ahead to Next Month

November is my birth month, so it’s always exciting. I will run my last race of the year, the Rexona 10 Miler (16 km) in Quezon City. I also plan to catch up on my reading since I am 8 books behind and need to finish 25 books in total for 2025.

I am currently publishing more content. Recently, I have increased my activity on social media, posting more than I did in the past few months.

Since this is approaching the second-to-last month before 2026, I feel a sense of urgency and hope to make every moment count. I will be highly productive during this time, accomplishing as many goals and completing as many projects as I set out for myself at the beginning of the year. Filipino FRIENDS fans, this is not a drill! The FRIENDS Experience is finally in Manila! If you grew up watching FRIENDS or still find yourself rewatching it on Netflix, this is your chance to step into iconic sets from Joey and Chandler’s apartment to Central Perk itself.

Last October 16, I went to Central Perk with my best friend, Nica. My heart was so happy seeing the familiar decorations and all the famous sets that a FRIENDS fan like me surely knows and loves.

In this post, I’ll share my personal experience exploring The FRIENDS Experience Manila — plus everything you need to know before visiting, including ticket details, what to expect, photo tips, and more!

My Personal FRIENDS Experience at Solaire

OH MY GAWD! That’s exactly how I felt entering the exhibit. New York has always been on my travel bucket list because I wanted to visit the FRIENDS museum and now, it’s here in the Philippines! It felt like an early birthday present.

We arrived at The Theater at Solaire around 6:35 PM (5 minutes late). We were told to wait for the next entry at 6:45 PM. While waiting, we took photos at the entrance, and I had our tickets printed for ₱50 as a souvenir.

Upon entering, you’ll first watch a video of Janice welcoming you (“Oh. My. God.”). The staff also asks FRIENDS trivia, so brush up on your FRIENDS facts!

It's time to recap what happened in July 2025, with some side stories and things to look forward to in the coming month.

The month of July passed by quickly, almost in the blink of an eye. It was eventful for me, from running another 10 Miler (16km) race, celebrating two birthdays in the family, and meeting former and present colleagues. Let's begin.

July 2025 Highlights

Here are my highlights for July 2025.

Rexona Metro Manila 10 Miler Series – Muntinlupa Leg

In case I haven’t shared this with you yet, I want to let you know that I am currently in a running era. I've been dedicating a lot of time to running and have been enjoying it since the beginning of the year. It’s become a significant part of my routine, and I feel great about this new habit that I’ve embraced.

I signed up for the Rexona Metro Manila 10 Miler Series with my oldest sister, and I am currently running it. It includes six races held in six different cities across Metro Manila on six separate dates – Manila City (April 6), Pasay City (May 4), Muntinlupa City (July 6), Parañaque City (August 3), Makati City (September 14), and Quezon City (November 30).

I’ve completed two legs so far: the Rexona Metro Manila 10 Miler Manila in April and the Rexona 10 Miler Pasay in May. And then, on July 6, the third leg took place in Muntinlupa, specifically along the Festival Alabang route.

I was disappointed with my results in Pasay, so I set a goal to improve my performance. However, I couldn’t understand what went wrong. Despite having more preparation, I still couldn’t run faster or longer. I performed well up to the 11th kilometer, but afterward, I began to experience frequent urges to urinate. My bladder felt incredibly full, almost as if it would burst, and I had to walk to rest my body. At one point, I even felt faint and thought I might pass out if I didn’t stop.

I pushed myself to keep going, and whenever I felt capable, I was able to run. Thankfully, I completed the race, and even though I didn’t reach my goal, I'm simply glad I finished. Overall, I had a great time in the race, and I can’t believe I am already halfway through the Rexona Metro Manila 10 Miler series.

Celebrated Back-to-Back Birthdays in the Family

July is a special month for our family because we celebrate two birthdays: my elder sister's and my Mama's. After our race, we headed directly to my sister’s house to celebrate. We visited a nearby cafe for some bonding.

In the evening, we joined a video call with my Mama, who’s living in the province with Papa. I’m glad we’re all still together, and even though we could only celebrate virtually, it turned out to be a wonderful night.

Virtual Run and Walk Challenge at Work

Throughout July, I also took part in our work’s Virtual Run and Walk event. From July 1 to 25, we were challenged to run or walk a total distance of 66 km or more. I participated in the same challenge last year by doing long walks, and thanks to that, I discovered running. This year, I managed to run my way to the finish line. I also logged 127.23 kilometers over 19 activity days.

Finished Reading Genesis

For a long time, I wanted to read the Old Testament, but I couldn't find the right moment to start. Finally, I took the initiative. I used a Bible reading planner called 52 Weeks in the Word by Trilla J. Newbell and followed its schedule.

I began on July 8 and managed to finish Genesis in two weeks, which is a significant spiritual achievement for me. Genesis serves as a powerful reminder of beginnings, faith, and promises, making it a meaningful milestone in my spiritual life.

Met with Past Workmates

I also caught up with my former coworkers from my previous job for a much-needed life update. I had been wanting this, and it kept getting rescheduled several times, but finally, it happened. We had dinner at Kazu Cafe and coffee at HP Proper Coffee Roasters afterward. It was a wonderful night, and I am glad to reconnect and reflect on how much has changed and stayed the same in our lives.

Met a Lot of Workmates at a Wedding

Since I work from home, I always enjoy the rare chance to see my coworkers in person. Recently, one of my colleagues got married, and many of us gathered to celebrate this special occasion. I had colleagues flying in from Pampanga, Baguio, and even Davao just to join us. The evening was filled with laughter and pure happiness. We even had an after-party at another co-worker’s condo, which ended at 3 am.

Watched The Fantastic Four: First Steps

My older sister and I went to Trinoma to pick up our race kits for the August Parañaque leg, and afterwards, we decided to watch a movie. It was my first time experiencing Trinoma’s renovated cinema with recliner seats.

I enjoyed watching The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but I wouldn't quite classify it as my favorite Marvel movie. Its family-friendly vibe made it feel more like a movie for all ages rather than a typical superhero film. There’s just less action, and I even realized how the plot would unfold. I found it to be a charming and light-hearted addition to the Marvel universe, though it didn't resonate with me on the same level as other Marvel films I cherish.

July 2025 Personal Growth Update

July was a month of remarkable personal growth and achievement. I successfully finished reading two insightful books: HBR’s Guide to Being More Productive and The Psychology of Money, both of which offered valuable lessons and perspectives on productivity and finances.

I also established and maintained a consistent daily routine, starting my mornings with journaling followed by Bible study, which brought me a sense of peace and clarity in my life.

In addition to my mental and spiritual development, I dedicated time to physical wellness by running regularly. I logged an impressive amount of mileage for July, feeling more energized and healthier with each run.

Socially, July was also fulfilling. I spent quality moments reconnecting and bonding with former and current colleagues, strengthening those relationships. Moreover, I cherished the time spent with my family, creating memories and deepening our connections. Overall, it was a fulfilling month marked by growth, discipline, and meaningful relationships.

July 2025 Favorites

Beauty

I’ve been breaking out for July, so I’m keeping my skincare at a bare minimum. A product that I’ve been enjoying is the Pond’s Hyaluron Sunscreen with SPF 50. I discovered this as it was part of the loot bag freebie from the Rexona 10 Miler Manila leg. It’s super light and absorbs well.

Movie/Show

I finally watched Hamilton on Disney Plus, and it’s so good I’m obsessed. I honestly got hooked and rewatched it so many times. The music, the acting, the historical themes—all of it completely captivated me from start to finish.

I also recently discovered The Pitt on HBO Max, and I have to say, it quickly became one of my favorites. I absolutely love medical dramas, and this show stands out even more because of its intense focus on trauma situations. What makes The Pitt even more captivating is that all the characters are very different from those in more traditional and well-known medical shows, which adds a fresh and intriguing perspective to the series.

Song

Since I am obsessed with the musical Hamilton, I have the entire soundtrack on repeat almost constantly. I find myself listening to Hamilton songs during my runs, and they truly energize me, giving me a boost of motivation and enthusiasm.

Looking Ahead to Next Month

In the upcoming month, I am excited about several important events and personal goals. First, I will participate in the Rexona 10 Miler Parañaque Leg, which promises to be a fantastic race and a great way to stay active and healthy. Additionally, I will celebrate two very special birthdays—my best friend Nica's and my eldest sister's—making this month even more memorable with these joyful gatherings.

On a personal development front, I am preparing for my first international solo trip scheduled for September. This upcoming adventure is new for me, and I want to get everything organized and ready in advance.

Furthermore, I am committed to maintaining and enhancing my daily routines. I plan to continue journaling, engaging in Bible study, and dedicating time to reading and finishing books, which are all part of my personal growth goals. I also aspire to be more active on my blog and social media platforms, sharing my experiences and insights more regularly.

Overall, next month seems filled with exciting events and meaningful pursuits, and I am eager to embrace everything it has to offer.

Before 2025 ends, I want to start a Project Pan.

Lately, I've noticed my stash of beauty products is growing too quickly, and it concerns me. Having so many items makes me feel overwhelmed. I want to be more selective with my purchases and find better ways to organize what I already have. Ultimately, I’m finally ready to use what I have, finish what I can, and learn to let go.

What is a Project Pan?

A Project Pan is a beauty challenge focused on using up existing products before purchasing new ones, encouraging mindful consumption, and reducing waste. The concept comes from using products until the "pan" (the bottom of the container) is visible. While initially related to makeup, it now also covers skincare, body care, and other beauty products.

Why I’m Doing a Project Pan?

After outlining the key benefits of a Project Pan, I would like to share some personal reasons for wanting to embark on this journey myself.

I want to rediscover hidden gems in my collection

I want to take the time to rediscover the hidden gems in my collection, whether that’s makeup or skincare products I haven’t used in a while. I hope to bring back products I loved but may have forgotten about, and ultimately reduce waste by using what I already have.

I want to gain a deeper appreciation for the products I already own.

I tend to buy skincare and makeup impulsively. When I see something on TikTok or online, I will always buy it. This tendency sometimes results in immediate regret. I realized that the thrill of acquiring new beauty items often overshadows the joy of using what I already have. By shifting my focus to my existing products, I can cultivate a deeper appreciation for them and truly explore their unique qualities.

I’m tired of feeling guilty about unused makeup and skincare products.

During my quarterly or mid-year resets, I consistently discover beauty products I've either never used or only swatched once. Now, I want to free myself from this unnecessary stress and guilt by becoming more intentional with my choices.

I need that sense of accomplishment

I absolutely love the feeling of finishing a product. I used to blog about my empties because completing something gives me such a profound sense of achievement. Each empty container represents more than just a used product—it's a milestone in my journey toward mindful consumption and intentional living.

I want to save money.

By focusing on utilizing what I already own, I can avoid unnecessary purchases and save money for future investments or experiences that truly matter to me.

Skincare and Makeup Products in My Project Pan

As this is my first project pan, I’m starting small and mixing makeup and skincare. I want to start with the products that I genuinely like, or want to use up before they expire:

Skincare

For my double-cleansing routine, I've selected these two products:

Muji Cleansing Balm Acne Care serves as my first step to remove makeup and dirt. I've used about 30% of it so far. My only concern is that it's not travel-friendly when I stay elsewhere.
Swiss Image Elasticity Boosting Face Wash as my second cleanser. I recently finished my previous cleanser, and this one is still about 90% full.

For essence or serum:

Naturie Hatamugi Skin Conditioner. Almost halfway through, and my goal is to finish it.

For moisturizer:

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5. I purchased the travel size and use it as an overnight moisturizer when I want my face to look plump and refreshed the next morning. This is currently 60-70% full.
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre. I discovered this on TikTok where it was praised as both an excellent moisturizer and makeup primer. After purchasing it, I only used it a few times before setting it aside. Now I'm determined to finish it.

For eye cream:

Nameraka Honpo Sana Eyecream. I got this new eye cream as part of my Hong Kong Haul and currently trying to use it consistently.

For sunscreen:

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 50. I’ve been buying a lot of sunscreen lately, especially since I’ve entered my running phase. One of the products I’ve had the longest in my collection is the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 50, and I want to finish it up. I estimate that there’s about 30-40% left in the bottle.

Now let’s do makeup. Since I work from home full-time, I haven’t been wearing much makeup. I only do it for important meetings, online events, or when I go outside on weekends for church, errands, or socializing.

Shawill Face Primer. This is another TikTok discovery I bought and forgot I had. Now, my plan is to use it only for longer events when I’m going out with makeup, but I do hope to use it up with this challenge.
Issy Skin Tint in Sienna. I've been enjoying a skin tint lately, so I want to finish this. I’ve had it for a while now, but I’m quite frugal, so I've around 50-60% left.
Dazzle Me Pressed Powder. This is barely there already, so it's an easy win for me.
Ever Bilena Ultimate Brow Fix is one of my best product discoveries of 2025. I’ve been using it frequently, so I consider this an easy win.
Dazzle Me Volumaxing Mascara. This is my only mascara at the moment, and I’m guessing I still have around 50-60%.
Vice Cosmetics Jelly Tint in Candy Apple, and I absolutely love it! It’s one of the best lip tints I've tried so far, which is evident since I only have about 70% left.

Here are the rules of my Project Pan:

I won’t buy any new makeup/skincare products in a specific category (e.g., moisturizer, sunscreen, lip tint, etc.) until I have completely finished or decluttered the one in my project pan.
I am only allowed to stop using a product if I have an allergic reaction or it’s causing me bumps or acne.
If I don’t like a product and cannot finish it, I will use it at least 10 times before deciding to toss it.

Hong Kong Haul

Last April, I had the privilege of visiting Hong Kong with my parents and two sisters. It was my first time in Hong Kong, and I was filled with excitement.

I'm especially grateful to my eldest sister, who took care of the flight, accommodation, and even covered the fees for our activities, including Hong Kong Disneyland, Ngong Ping 360, the Peak Tram, and a night cruise at Victoria Harbor.

Thus, I had a little allowance for shopping, which was a bonus! I'm really happy with the things I bought and today I get to share them with you in this post.

GU Corduroy Short Shirt in Natural and Ribbed Slit Pullover

The first store we visited was GU, the sister brand of Uniqlo. It was my first time actually being in a GU store, and I was initially overwhelmed by all the choices. I headed to the sale section and, fortunately, found something that caught my eye: a GU Corduroy Short Shirt. I got it for HK$ 99, which is around Php 700. As I was about to check out, I noticed another item—a top that would be perfect for the summer weather, GU Ribbed Slit Pullover for only HK$59 or around Php 400.

Sasa DHC Lip Cream, Keana Rice Mask, and Shiseido Neuve Oil Control Loose Pressed Powder

Sasa has always been a dream shop of mine, so when I finally came across one, my excitement was off the charts! I couldn’t wait to dive into all the amazing products. However, I was a bit disappointed that I didn’t find many of the items I was hoping to get.

On the bright side, I did spot the DHC Lip Cream, which I've heard so many good things about—definitely a win! I also grabbed the ever-popular Keana Rice Mask that’s been making waves on TikTok. And guess what? I bought an oil control pressed powder, and when I got home, I discovered it was from Shiseido! What a lovely surprise!

Lung Fung Chloe Perfume Mini Set, Sana Eye Cream, La Roche Posay, and Anessa SPF 50

Lung Fung was a store my sister recommended, and I can't thank her enough for it! Most of the items I couldn't find at Sasa were available there, and the prices were absolutely phenomenal! They were so low that you might start to wonder if they could be fake.

I picked up the Chloe Perfume Mini Set, which comes with two delightful mini perfumes. I’ve been slowly building my perfume collection, and I’m really excited about this new addition!

I finally found the Sana Eye Cream that I had almost purchased at Sasa but couldn't find. I ended up buying two, especially since the price at Lung Fung was fantastic. I also grabbed the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume; I just wish I had bought more! I've used it a couple of times already, and it's amazing!

And last but not least, I found Anessa SPF 50 on sale! I’m so happy I came across it. Overall, my shopping trip was a huge success!

Lee Kum Kee Seafood XO Sauce

I first tried XO sauce at Honolulu Cafe in Greenbelt 2, and I instantly fell in love with it. It’s not your typical chili oil; instead, it boasts a rich, deeper seafood flavor that sets it apart. During our visit to a grocery store in Hong Kong, I stumbled upon a jar of Lee Kum Kee Seafood XO Sauce and knew I had to buy it right away. At just HK$29, it was a steal! I’ve been enjoying it with all kinds of fried foods, and it adds such an incredible depth of flavor.

Asics Magic Speed 3

Last but certainly not least in my Hong Kong haul are my new running shoes! I finally scored a pair of carbon-plated racing shoes at almost 70% off—what an incredible find! The Asics Magic Speed 3 has been such a delightful addition to my collection.

I've been on the lookout for a high-performance shoe that can help elevate my running game, and these shoes did not disappoint. They’re lightweight, responsive, and perfect for race day.

First, let’s go through all the products that made it to my Best of Skincare last year.

Luxe Organix Niacinamide + Bakuchiol Retinol

I was browsing TikTok one day when I came across a video featuring Luxe Organix Niacinamide + Bakuchiol Retinol. It's been a while since I last used a body scrub, so I got excited to use one again.

What I love most about Luxe Organix Niacinamide + Bakuchiol Retinol is the scent; it smells amazing and makes you want to keep coming back for more. The scrub is gentle on the skin and doesn't strip away your skin's natural layers. I enjoy using it on my arms, legs, knees, back, and elbows.

While I haven't noticed immediate whitening effects, it's still a great addition to my body care routine.

Luxe Organix Aloe Vera Soothing Gel Review

COSRX Low pH Good Morning Cleanser

When I traveled to South Korea in January 2023, I purchased the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Cleanser as part of a buy-one-get-one deal. I started using it around October 2023, but it took me quite a while to finish one bottle.

I finally emptied it in February 2024, and I have to say, it was a great everyday cleanser. It didn’t irritate my skin, and even though I miss the squeaky clean feeling that other foam cleansers provide, I'm still glad I continued using this one.

Nivea Soft

I’ve heard a lot of positive reviews about Nivea Soft, particularly about how it’s a better and milder option for facial care compared to the classic blue tub. Intrigued by the recommendations, I decided to try it as my main moisturizer for my face.

One of the things I really love about Nivea Soft is how quickly it absorbs into my skin. Unlike some heavier creams, it doesn’t leave a greasy residue, which makes it perfect for both daytime and nighttime use. After applying it, my skin feels instantly hydrated and refreshed.

Dermaction Pure Anti-Acne Day Lotion SPF 50

If there’s one item from this list that I highly recommend, it’s the Dermaction Pure Anti-Acne Day Lotion SPF 50. You definitely need to try this one!

It’s an excellent sunscreen for those with sensitive skin who experience breakouts. I love the consistency of this sunscreen; it's runny but not overly watery. It feels like applying a lotion to your face.

It doesn't leave a white cast, absorbs easily, and has a mild scent. I’ll definitely be buying this again.

Best of Makeup for 2024

For some reason I bought a lot of makeup last year. Haha. But I did find some great items. Here they are:

Detail Cosmetics Fresh Filter Foundation

I absolutely LOVE this foundation! The coverage is amazing, and it feels lightweight on my skin. I use the shade Cashew, which is perfect for me. I really appreciate the dewy finish; even as an oily girl, I can still make it work, which is great! The only issue I have with the Detail Cosmetics Fresh Filter Foundation is that it's difficult to pump out. I usually need to do 7-10 pumps to get enough product. Also, I'm not sure if it's just my experience, but mine got a bit messy after a while.

Dazzle Me Better than Filter Maxnificent Essence Cushion

I got the Dazzle Me Better than Filter Maxnificent Essence Cushion a bit late, but it was enough for me to appreciate the product and include it in my year-end "best of the best" list.

I’ve wanted to own a cushion foundation for a long time. However, I struggled to find a brand that caters to Filipina skin. I was considering the Skintific Cushion Foundation due to its great reviews on social media, but I was concerned I wouldn't be able to find my shade.

Fortunately, Dazzle Me released their own cushion foundation, and since it's available in stores, I was able to easily find my perfect shade. The Dazzle Me Better than Filter Maxnificent Essence Cushion is really easy to use, and the coverage is spot on. It also lasts as advertised without looking cakey.

I did encounter a minor issue with the packaging of the item I received, as it has a subtle leak. While it's something that can be fixed with a tissue, the mess can still be quite annoying.

Dazzle Me Muse Pressed Foundation Powder

My ride-or-die pressed powder has to be the Dazzle Me Muse Pressed Foundation Powder! I absolutely adore it to mattify my face. The texture is so smooth, and it provides just the right amount of coverage without feeling heavy or cakey. I’ve enjoyed it so much that I’ve already hit the pan, which is a testament to how much I use it daily.

GRWM Quad Goals Palette

I try to avoid palettes as much as possible because I tend to accumulate them, and I find it hard to finish one. However, when Get Ready With Me released the Quad Goals, I thought it would be great to have everything in one set. I immediately chose two blushes, a contour, and a highlighter. I absolutely love the palette I created because it includes everything I need. I even brought it with me on my trip to Singapore to attend The Eras Tour, and I loved using it!

BLK Cosmetics Creamy All Over Paint in Daffodil

I've always wanted a Rare Beauty cream blush, but while waiting to have enough spare money to buy one without feeling guilty, I stumbled upon a great alternative: the BLK Cosmetics Creamy All Over Paint.

After trying it out, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this blush! It quickly became a staple in my makeup routine, and I’ve been using it ever since I got it. It’s so pigmented—truly, a little goes a long way. I adore the shade Daffodil as it complements my morena skin perfectly. It’s the ideal everyday blush for me.

Ever Bilena Pillow Pop Cream Blush

To be honest, I don’t remember when I got this blush, but I know it's been in my vanity for a long time. One day, while doing my makeup, I rediscovered the Ever Bilena Pillow Pop Cream Blush and thought it was fantastic. I suddenly stopped using my other blushes and started using this one, and I absolutely love it. I also use it during my Zoom meetings for an instant pop of color!

BLK Cosmetics Daydream False Lash Mascara

This has been a big surprise for me, but in a very good way. I’ve seen reviews about this product and how it can resemble false eyelashes when used, and it truly does. I created a separate review for the BLK Cosmetics Daydream False Lash Mascara because it is really impressive.

The volume and length it adds to my lashes are remarkable, making them look full and fluttery without the heaviness that often comes with traditional false lashes. The only problem I had with this product is that it’s hard to remove. You might find that it stays on for 1-2 days, and the only product that effectively removes it is an oil cleanser.

Maybelline SuperLock Brow Glue

This is my go-to brow product because it really holds my brows in place. I'm so glad I discovered it during a stroll in Watsons. It acts like a clear glue that sculpts and styles the brows, keeping them in place throughout the day. I also love that it's small and compact, making it easy to carry everywhere.

Previously, I was using the GRWM Browlift Grooming & Laminating Eyebrow Gel, which I also adore, but I found it to be a bit too lengthy in application. The Maybelline SuperLock Brow Glue provides the same results as the GRWM, but it's more convenient for me.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz

I must admit that I bought the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz on a whim. It happened to be on sale, and the offer included a brow mascara and some stencils, making it hard to resist. I thought to myself, “Why not give it a try?”

I didn’t like the clear brow gel, but the brow pencil, also known as the Brow Wiz, was indeed amazing. I can see why this product has cultivated such a loyal following over the years. The pencil glides on effortlessly, allowing you to shape and fill in your brows with just a few strokes. I appreciate how precise it is, enabling me to create both bold and subtle looks depending on my mood or the occasion.

For anyone looking to enhance their brow game, the Brow Wiz is genuinely a fantastic investment.

Vice Cosmetics On the Daily Lasting Liner in Espresso

Another eye product I enjoyed last year was the Vice Cosmetics On the Daily Lasting Liner. I bought two shades, Jet Black and Espresso, and I love both; however, I have a special preference for Espresso because it is very versatile.

What I love about Espresso is that I can use it not only for defining my eyes but also for contouring my nose. Its darker brown tone creates a softer edge, which gives a more natural look compared to harsher lines. Looking ahead, I'm excited to explore other shades, particularly the In the Nude.

Detail Cosmetics Jelly Lips Lip Plumper in Main Character

This is my first time discovering a lip plumper that not only delivers on its promise but also perfectly complements my being “morena.” The way it enhances my lips while maintaining a natural look is something I truly appreciate. It's refreshing to find a product that not only meets my expectations but also boosts my confidence as I step out for the day.

Dazzle Me 24/7 Wonderfullip Tinted Lip Serum Universal

I’ve been a huge fan of the Dazzle Me 24/7 Wonderfullip ever since I received and tried it. I included it in my 2023 Best of Skincare and Makeup list for a good reason. Not only does it provide SPF protection, but it also deeply nourishes the lips, making them feel soft and hydrated. Plus, at just Php 149, it’s an affordable option that delivers excellent quality.

When Dazzle Me released a tinted version, I was absolutely floored! This new formula takes an already fantastic product to the next level. Now, I get to enjoy all the benefits of the clear Wonderfullip, but with the added bonus of beautiful color. The tinted version not only primes and nourishes my lips, but it also offers versatility; I can wear it on its own for a natural look or layer it over other lip products to create extra sheen and protection.

Vice Cosmetics Lip Liner

For the longest time I’ve been wanting to try lip liners as I’m not exactly a huge believer I need one. When I saw that the Vice Cosmetics Lip Liner was on sale on TikTok I ordered right away. I’m so happy I did. I’ve been loving the shade Kizz Me More but I also own Kizz & Tell and First Kizz. All shades are great and I can mismatch depending on the lipstick I am using. However, I also enjoy just using a lip liner and topping it with the Dazzle Me 24/7 Wonderfullip Tinted Lip Serum Universal. It’s the most natural looking combo in my opinion.

Happy New Year, everyone! I really hope your year is off to a great start. It's hard to believe it's already been six days since we said farewell to 2024 and welcomed in 2025.

How are you doing?

2024 turned out to be an incredible year for me. It was a time I dedicated mostly to my family and even kicked off my fitness journey. I felt happier and more content than ever. I started the year with the intention of romanticizing my life, and I believe I succeeded in my own little way.

There are definitely more things I could have done, but overall, it was a fantastic year. And for my first post this 2025, I’ll take a walk down memory lane, month by month, highlighting the noteworthy events of the year. Let’s begin!

January 2024

Celebrated the New Year (2024) in the province with my parents and sisters. This was my second road trip to Eastern Samar with my eldest sister, and this time, we were also joined by my other sister and her baby.

Received a PR Advent Calendar from Dazzle Me Cosmetics. Every blogger dreams of getting a PR package, and as someone with a smaller blog and audience, I’m truly thrilled to have received such a thoughtful gift. It’s my first time getting an advent calendar, and it was actually a dream come true. Take a peek at what's inside below:

February 2024

Binondo with my sister. It’s been a while since I visited Binondo—my last trip was in 2017 with my old coworkers. I'm really glad to be back, especially since it was just a few days before the Chinese New Year, which added to the excitement in the area. We checked out Jones Bridge, which looked stunning at night, grabbed some Chinese snacks, and enjoyed a meal at Ching Fung Snack House.
Cousin Shan’s surprise Bachelorette Party. I’ve mentioned Shan in this blog HERE and HERE, but to summarize, she's my closest cousin and has been my best friend since I came into the world. In just a few days, she’ll be getting married, and I’m excited to help plan her surprise Bachelorette Party with her sister and other dear friends.

March 2024

Parents visit Manila. My parents came to Manila to spend a couple of weeks for my cousin Shan's wedding. They were both principal sponsors, and I had the honor of being the Maid of Honor. I also helped pick out their dress and barong for the occasion.
Shan’s wedding. My cousin Shan's long-anticipated wedding day has finally arrived. I feel truly honored to witness my cousin walking down the aisle and uniting with the love of his life.
Singapore-Malaysia travel. I enjoy exploring new countries, and Singapore was a destination I hadn't experienced until now. During my visit, I spent time at the beautiful Gardens by the Bay and the iconic Marina Bay Sands. I also checked out various other attractions and had the chance to reconnect with my longtime friend Armstrong, who is currently living and working in Singapore.

This was my second trip to Malaysia, and I was only there to enjoy a long layover on my final day. I didn't get the chance to explore the country extensively, but I was still glad to have made the visit.

Eras Tour concert experience. I traveled to Singapore to experience Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. It still feels surreal to think that I got to see a concert in another country, especially one featuring Taylor Swift! I went with my best friend Nica and her sister, and we were fortunate enough to catch the final day of the Eras Tour at the National Stadium Singapore.

April 2024

Liwliwa Beach, Zambales. I went on a wonderful overnight adventure to Liwliwa Beach in Zambales with my eldest sister and her lovable dogs, Maddie and Feejie, on April Fool’s Day. We stayed at Kwentong Dagat, a charming beachfront accommodation that perfectly complemented our seaside getaway. I enjoyed the delicious free breakfast they offered, and the whole place was really nice.
3 Days 2 Nights stay at Shangri-La The Fort for work. One of the highlights of my year was the all-expense-paid retreat we had for work. It was such an incredible experience to finally meet the owners and founders of the company I work for. I was also thrilled to connect with my coworkers, whom I had mostly spoken to online. We had an absolute blast during those days together, and the fact that everything was provided for us made it even better. To top it all off, I even won the Female Star of the Night—can you believe it?
Milo Marathon 2024. I cheered on my oldest sister during her first race of the year while taking care of the dogs. She ran an impressive 10km, and I couldn’t be prouder of her!

May 2024

Pansol, Laguna and Lucban, Quezon with my sisters. I had another spontaneous getaway with my sisters that I truly cherish. We spent the night at Camp Wiggles in Pansol, Laguna, enjoying a delightful staycation. One of the highlights was being able to let the dogs enjoy the pool with us. The next morning, we explored UP Los Baños and then took a side trip to Lucban, Quezon before checking out. It was wonderful to savor pancit hab-hab and Lucban longganisa again.
Cha-Ching One Million Milestone event. My first paid event appearance in a long time as Izza of SavingsPinay PH. I met some of my fellow personal finance bloggers like Ameena of The Thrifty Pinya, Janice of The Pinay Investor, and Sir Fitz of Ready to be Rich.
Met with my former workmates. In 2022, I left my previous job, and since then, I haven't had the chance to reconnect with my former colleagues, like my supervisor Ms. Love and my teammate Marie. It brought me so much joy to finally meet again after such a long time.

June 2024

Eastern Samar - Cebu travel. I returned to Eastern Samar to celebrate my youngest sister’s college graduation, and I couldn’t be prouder of her for finishing Cum Laude! To commemorate this achievement, we treated her to a trip to Cebu. My nephew Lyron joined us on this adventure, making it even more special as we got to bond and spend quality time together.

Cebu was truly a delight. I loved exploring the various places we visited and savoring the delicious food. We made stops at Magellan’s Cross, Fort San Pedro in Cebu, Temple of Leah, 10,000 Flowers, Moalboal Beach, and Taboan Public Market. Of course, we had to indulge in some lechon!

Upgraded my phone. I’ve finally upgraded my phone after using the same one since 2021, and I couldn't be more thrilled! From iPhone 11 64GB, I got an iPhone 15 Pro Max with 256GB memory! As someone who blogs and shares my life on social media, this was such a great investment.

July 2024

Participated in 2024 Mid-Year Prayer and Fasting. I eagerly anticipate the Mid-Year Prayer and Fasting at our church. It's a wonderful opportunity to reflect on all that God has accomplished in the past six months and to prepare my heart for the months ahead.
Attended Run2U in Manila Concert. Another concert for the year, and I was with Nica again. We watched Run2U in Manila, which was the fan meeting for the Running Man Korean variety show here in the Philippines. It was my second time attending the concert, and although the first one really left a mark, it was still a great show.
Started my fitness journey by doing long walks. This year, I really embraced this routine and made it a significant part of my life. Since I began freelancing in 2022, I hadn't engaged in much physical activity, so I felt a tremendous sense of accomplishment for dedicating myself to doing long walks.
Makati carless Sunday. During my long walks in July, my eldest sister and I attended Makati’s Carless Sunday for the first time. The atmosphere was lively, with countless people walking, running, and cycling throughout the area. It was also great to return to Makati, a place where I used to work years ago.

August 2024

Stayed with my Kuya and his family at Cavite with my other siblings. My youngest sister, Karen, finally touched down in Manila, and we were all excited to have her here. To make the most of her stay, we decided to head to Cavite to spend some quality time with my Kuya and his family. It had been a while since we last gathered, so we looked forward to catching up and enjoying each other's company.
Read a lot of books. I had an amazing reading month in August, completing five books! I think this is the first time I’ve ever managed to read that many in a single month, and I’m really proud of this achievement.

September 2024

Another short visit at my Kuya’s. I traveled to Cavite to support my Kuya and Ate Lhen after the heartbreaking loss of their beloved furbaby, Chibi. Losing a pet is never easy, and I wanted to be there for them during this difficult time. I knew how much Chibi meant to them and how deeply they were affected.
Stayed at my parents in Eastern Samar for two weeks. Another highlight for me was staying at my parents' home in Eastern Samar for two weeks. This time, I traveled alone. During my stay, I enjoyed reconnecting with my parents, sharing stories, and savoring home-cooked meals by my Mama that I had missed so much. I also took the opportunity to revisit Eastern Samar’s beautiful beaches and continue my long walks every chance I got.

October 2024

Reconnected with my Makati Victory Group members. After such a long time, I finally had the opportunity to attend an on-site church service again, and it felt incredible to be back. I'm also thrilled that I reconnected with my Makati Victory Group members during this visit. After the service, we enjoyed a delightful lunch together, catching up on each other's lives and sharing stories.

November 2024

Sunday church with my youngest sister. If there’s one thing I can’t believe happened this year, it’s finally bringing a family member to church. This moment has been on my Christmas bucket list for such a long time, and I’m overjoyed that it finally came to fruition. I brought along my youngest sister, Karen, to church, and it was an experience I will always cherish.
My 31st Birthday weekend at Lobo, Batangas. I celebrated my 31st birthday with all my siblings during a fantastic weekend at a beautiful private villa in Lobo, Batangas. We spent time lounging by the pool, eating, and going to the beach, where we created new memories with each other. It’s sad we can’t be with our parents but how lucky I am to have such supportive and loving siblings with me. I couldn't have asked for a better way to welcome another year!
Espren Date with Steph. I also had a great time talking with my best friend Steph on our post-birthday date together. We shared our favorite memories and talked about how we've grown over the years.
Vice Comedy Club experience. Another November baby is Karen. This year, she decided to make it extra special by inviting us to join her for a night of laughs at the Vice Comedy Club. When the show started, the comedians shared funny stories and clever jokes that made the audience laugh hard. I have to say, though, some of the jokes were a bit edgy and not suitable for everyone. Still, the overall experience was amazing!
Started running. After spending time taking long walks, I decided to gradually transition into light running. At first, I wasn't sure if I had it in me to run even a short distance. However, as I continued my walks, I discovered a newfound strength and stamina that surprised me. I found joy in the challenge, and with each light run, my confidence grew. It was a remarkable realization that I was capable of more than I initially believed.

December 2024

Sister’s Garmin Run race. My sisters and I came together to support our eldest sister in her 21km Garmin Run. As we cheered her on, it was so inspiring to see my Ate give it her all. Watching her push through each kilometer brought a sense of pride and joy. In that moment, it wasn't just about the race; it was about family, support, and the shared experience of witnessing someone we love pursue their passion.
Another stay at Cavite. I decided to stay a couple more days in Cavite because my Kuya was on an extended vacation from work. It was a great opportunity to spend more time with family and enjoy various activities together. I did some runs as much as I could and played badminton with my nephew Lyron. One of the highlights of my trip was when we visited SVD Farm in Tagaytay. The scenery was breathtaking, and we explored the lush landscapes and enjoyed the fresh air.
Date with Nica. Nica and I finally met after the Run2U concert in Manila in July. We had our usual afternoon of lunch, visiting a bookstore, and enjoying coffee while catching up on updates in our lives and more. We also exchanged gifts; she brought me some Te Tarik from her recent trip to Malaysia. I'm grateful to Nica for over a decade of friendship.
Christmas Lunch Makati Victory Group. After such a long time, my Makati Victory Group members and I finally met for a Christmas celebration. We enjoyed lunch and exchanged gifts. We also reminisced about old times and caught up on each other's lives, strengthening the bonds that connect us.
Date with my cousin Shan. I also had dinner with my cousin Shan. It’s hard to believe she is already in her third trimester! Time has flown by so quickly. I couldn’t be more excited for her as she prepares to enter this new season of motherhood. We talked about her pregnancy journey, and she shared her hopes and dreams for the little one.
Celebrating Christmas, my father’s birthday, and New Year’s eve with the family. I ended the year on an incredible high note, surrounded by family as we celebrated Christmas together in Cavite. It was a heartwarming gathering, and I felt so grateful that we were all united for this special occasion. For the first time, we decided to have a gift exchange, which added an exciting twist to our holiday celebration.

In addition to the gift exchange, I participated in a lively cash “pabunot,” where various amounts were raffled off. It was thrilling when someone won Php 1000, others won Php 500, Php 200, and Php 100. The anticipation and cheering created an atmosphere of excitement that perfectly complemented the festive spirit.

The day after Christmas, we continued our family celebrations by honoring my father’s 68th birthday at Dahon at Mesa Tagaytay. The picturesque setting and delicious food made it a memorable occasion. Unfortunately, my youngest sister had to work, so we couldn’t be with her.

As we transitioned into New Year’s Eve, our family gatherings took on a different shape. Although we had to celebrate separately, it was delightful to see how each group embraced the occasion. Those who had families of their own held their celebrations, while my eldest sister, youngest sister, parents, and I came together for our own intimate gathering.

We indulged in an amazing feast that included a mouthwatering lechon from Ping-Ping’s, steak, an arranged charcuterie board, fresh salad, creamy pasta, and other delicious dishes.

Even though we weren’t all together, the warmth and happiness we felt on New Year’s Eve showed that love brings us close, no matter the distance. As the clock struck midnight, we raised our glasses to welcome the new year, filled with hope, joy, and treasured memories of our time together.

Overall

2024 has been a year centered on family, filled with cherished memories and meaningful experiences. I’ve spent quality time with my loved ones, creating bonds that I will treasure forever.

It was filled with personal highlights too, such as my trip to Singapore and Malaysia, attending the Eras Tour, starting my fitness journey, going to on-site church, celebrating my 31st birthday, and reconnecting with my Makati Victory Group members, among many other experiences.

I am grateful for 2024 and looking forward to what 2025 has in store.

Thoughts on Turning 31: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

I recently celebrated my 31st birthday, and it prompted me to reflect on the journey that has led me to this moment. What better way to capture these thoughts than by sharing them in a blog post?

So, here’s my take on the good, the bad, the ugly and everything in between about turning 31.

The Good

Turning 31 feels like a whole new chapter. In my 20s, I viewed those in their 30s as quite old, but now that I’m part of that group, my outlook has shifted entirely. I no longer see this age as a milestone of aging; instead, I feel energized by all that life still has to offer. There’s a sense of excitement within me about what lies ahead!

Life is truly wonderful, and I say that with genuine humility. Recently, during my birthday celebration, I found myself reminiscing with my siblings about how good God has been in our family’s life.

It’s amazing to think about how much we’ve accomplished—none of which we could have predicted all those years ago. It’s not just about money or material possessions; what really matters is the stronger bond we’ve forged as we’ve grown older. Together, we’ve turned once distant dreams into reality, and I couldn’t be prouder of my parents and siblings. I also feel so grateful that my family is healthy and happy.

On a personal level, I’ve found fulfillment in my career in digital marketing, where I enjoy the flexibility of working from home. Though I've taken a step back from writing lately, I still cherish my blogs - www.izzaglinofull.com and www.savingspinay.ph as they both became my personal outlet.

I’ve also been blessed with incredible friends who genuinely love and support me, enriching my life in ways I’m truly thankful for.

There’s a sense of maturity and clarity that comes with the territory of being in your 30s. It’s true, I feel more at ease in my own skin. I've gained wisdom through experiences—both joyful and challenging—that have shaped my outlook on life. This newfound confidence empowers me to pursue my passions even more. Plus, I’ve built a solid support system of friends and family who enrich my life, reminding me that I’m not alone on this journey.

How I Plan in Taking Care of My Skin in My 30s

The Bad

As I embrace the peace that comes with aging, it’s bittersweet to watch my loved ones grow older as well. Witnessing my parents age and their hair turn gray fills me with a profound sadness, especially since they live in the province and I’m far away. Now that I have the opportunity to travel, I make it a priority to visit them as often as I can and to spend meaningful time together. I also cherish our video calls, which help bridge the distance.

Being part of the sandwich generation brings its own set of challenges. While I’m focused on building my own life, I feel a strong urge to support my parents and express my gratitude for everything they’ve done for me. It’s a delicate balancing act between nurturing my own journey and honoring the deep love and care they’ve given me throughout the years.

Lastly, I feel a sense of sadness that living in a digital world makes comparison unavoidable. This constant tendency to measure ourselves against others can foster feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt. Finding a way to focus on my own path, rather than getting caught up in what others are doing, has become increasingly important.

The Ugly

I think the ugly side of turning 31 is the fact that as we grow older, we inevitably face a set of expectations that can weigh heavily on us—especially for women. Society often seems to impose a timeline for significant milestones like marriage and starting a family.

At 31, I find myself still single, without a boyfriend or even someone I’m talking to. Watching more and more people in my life move on to new stages of life makes the pressure feel even greater.

I do hold on to my belief that God is crafting my love story, and His timing is always perfect—neither late nor early. That said, I won’t lie; it’s becoming increasingly challenging to remain optimistic in this area of my life. I often feel anxious about where I am compared to where society thinks I should be, and that worry can overshadow my achievements. I know I should trust in God's plan, as He promises, "When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen."

Beyond being in relationships, I find joy in other parts of my life. I’m nurturing my passions, friendships, and personal growth. Each day brings new chances for exploration and self-discovery. While wanting love is important to me, I recognize that my life is about so much more. As I move forward, I remind myself that life isn’t a race, and each chapter unfolds in its own time.

Despite the mix of emotions, I realized turning 31 offers an opportunity to embrace the complexities of life. While there will always be good, bad, and even ugly moments, I can choose to focus on growth and resilience. As I turn a year older, I want to celebrate not just the passing of time but the exciting possibilities that lie ahead.

In my most recent post, I shared that prioritizing my skin has become essential now that I’m in my 30s. I’m particularly committed to incorporating sunscreen into my daily skincare routine. Over the years, I've gathered quite a collection of sunscreens. Here’s a rundown of the options I currently have on hand.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++

I first discovered Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen during a family getaway when I saw my sister-in-law using it. I was really impressed because, despite spending most of the day under the sun, her skin remains unchanged. I immediately asked the sunscreen she used and saw it was this Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch.

I’ve used this sunscreen on both my face and body, and I absolutely love the finish it provides. At first squeeze, it might seem thick, but once applied, it goes on sheer. It doesn’t leave any greasy residue and is quickly absorbed by the skin. I’ve even used it before applying makeup, and it works perfectly!

Whenever I know I'll be heading to the beach or spending an extended period in the sun, this sunscreen is my go-to choice for protection.

Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++

Last year, during my trip to South Korea, I was eager to get my hands on this Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sunscreen. I saw TikTok from South Korean beauty gurus who rave about it as one of the best sunscreens available. It’s lightweight, doesn’t leave any white cast, and even provides a moisturizing and supple feel to the skin.

I was thrilled when I stumbled upon it during my first visit to Olive Young. To my delight, I even received a free travel-sized moisturizing cleanser with my purchase. This sunscreen truly lives up to the hype; it’s an excellent moisturizer as well. I love using it before applying heavy makeup, as it also acts as a great primer. It melts into the skin and has a refreshing, cool sensation.

The only downside to this product is its price, so I do my best to conserve it.

Tokyo White Whitening Tinted Sunscreen SPF 50 PA ++++

Out of all the sunscreens I own, the Tokyo White Whitening Tinted Sunscreen is my least favorite, particularly for use on my face. Being a tinted sunscreen, the shade is lighter than my skin tone, which makes it difficult to blend evenly. Instead, I use it on my body for added protection and coverage. Aside from the sun protection it gives, it is also packed with Glutathione and Vitamin C and E which are active ingredients you don’t really see in a sunscreen.

Deoproce UV Sunblock Cream SPF 42 PA+++

One of the sales representatives at Watsons recommended the Deoproce UV Sunblock Cream SPF 42 to me during my visit. I was on the hunt for a lightweight sunscreen that offers solid coverage.

I adore this product because for less than Php 500 you can have a multi-sunblock cream that protects skin, can be used as a makeup base, blocks both ultraviolet rays (UVA) and burning ultraviolet rays (UVB), and doesn’t cake at all.

It appears white when squeezed, but adjusts beautifully to match your skin tone upon application.

PS. I did buy this product in Watsons but please take note that an FDA warning has been posted recently about this specific product. Right now I also don’t see it on Watsons website anymore.

Fairy Skin Premium Tinted Sunscreen SPF 50 PA++++

I'm absolutely in love with the Fairy Skin Premium Tinted Sunscreen! It's hands down my favorite tinted sunscreen so far, and I've already used up an entire bottle. This is definitely one of those TikTok products that truly lives up to the hype!

It is ultra-lightweight, absorbs fast, and doesn’t leave white cast.I even mix my foundation with it to make a skin tint that offers just the right amount of coverage while still letting my natural skin shine through.

How I Plan in Taking Care of My Skin in My 30s

Turning 30 last year marked not only a milestone in my age but also in my skin. I realized that this milestone not only signified a new chapter in my life but also brought about changes in my skincare needs.

Neglecting a proper skincare routine in my 20s has finally taken its toll on me. I now have dark under eyes, milia, laugh lines, wrinkles, rosacea, and suffer adult acne. I'm optimistic that better days are ahead for my skin. While I can't change the past, I can certainly focus on nurturing and improving my skin in the present and for the future. So without further ado, here’s how I plan on taking care of my skin in my 30s a.k.a. my 30s skincare routine.

Skincare Reality Check

To be frank, I didn't prioritize taking care of my skin in my 20s. It took me a while to realize the importance of sunscreen, and I didn't bother seeking advice from a dermatologist. As a result, I've developed dark circles and milia. Since my skin was clear during my teens and early 20s, I mistakenly assumed it would always remain that way. However, now that I'm 30, I realize there's a lot I need to do to care for my skin.

The positive aspect is that I now have the financial means to invest in my skincare. This is truly the best part for me. I can finally afford quality products and professional services for my skin, whereas before it would have been more of a luxury.

However, there are also downsides as I am currently working night shift. One major issue is that it has negative effects not just on my skin but also on my body:

1. Sleep deprivation - Working from 11 pm to 8 am disrupts my sleep schedule, preventing my skin from regenerating properly as it's different sleeping during the day than at night.

2. Irregular meal times - Working odd hours also leads to irregular eating patterns. Some days, I end up having only one meal before work, while on other days, I eat twice a day, once before and once after work.

I knew I needed to overhaul my skincare routine in my 30s so here’s what I am doing in my daily regimen:

Before Shift Skincare Routine

This will be my morning skincare routine since I don't differentiate between morning and night skincare routines. I focus on differentiating between my skincare routines before and after my work shifts (11pm and 9am). My pre-work skincare routine is more intensive, and I focus on using essential products such as serums, essences, and moisturizers.

Double Cleanse - I’m a big believer in double cleansing and enjoy doing it as well. First, I will use an oil-based cleanser or micellar water followed by a foam cleanser. Currently the oil-based cleanser I use is the Biore Cleansing Oil and for facial wash I have COSRX Low pH Good morning Gel Cleanser.
Toner - During my visit to Mitsukoshi BGC in May, I came across the Naturie Hatomogi Skin Conditioner and decided to purchase the 500ml bottle for only Php 399. I was impressed by how it leaves my skin feeling fresh and relaxed after use. This gentle toner is perfect for replenishing moisture after double cleansing.

Eye Cream - I've always been self-conscious about my under-eye area. I've been trying different eye creams since my early 20s, but I still haven't found one that really does the trick. Since the beginning of 2024, I've been using L’oreal Revitalift Hyaluronic Acid, and I want to use it up before I try another eye cream. It's difficult to see immediate results, but I see it as a small step in the right direction.
Serums - I alternate between using Vitamin C and Retinol every other day. Vitamin C brightens the skin and protects it against free radicals, while retinol boosts collagen production and reduces fine lines. I recently finished bottles of Olay Niacinamide + Vitamin C Serum and Olay Regenerist Retinol Night Serum. I'm considering trying out some new serums.
Night Cream - Finally, to complete my skincare routine, I prefer using a night cream specifically designed to hydrate my face while working.

After Shift Skincare Routine

I usually finish work at 8 or 8:30am so it gives me a window to do some quick after shift skincare routine. The goal here is a simple skincare routine of just cleanser, toner, and day cream with SPF.

Cleanser - I like to just clean my face before going to sleep and I use the same as the COSRX Low pH Good morning Gel Cleanser.
Toner - Again, it’s all about reintroducing hydration in my face. I am just happy whenever I use the Naturie Hatomogi Skin Conditioner.
Eye Cream - I want to be diligent about using up the remainder of my current eye cream, so I apply it twice a day.
Sunscreen Moisturizer - Before I go to bed, I always make sure to apply a moisturizer or day cream that contains SPF protection. I prefer a lightweight formula that is easily absorbed into my skin.

Now that I have established my before and after shift skincare routine, I also include additional steps occasionally that I don't do on a daily basis.

Facial Mask - Every other day, I like to treat my skin to some extra hydration by using a nourishing face mask. This helps to replenish moisture and give my skin a healthy, radiant glow. I don't have a specific brand of facial mask that I prefer, but I find Korean facial masks to be more accessible and soothing for the face. That wraps up my 30s skincare routine. I'm also looking forward to scheduling a visit to a dermatologist soon for a thorough skin check.

July 2024 Life Recap - Goodbye July, Hello August 2024

It's been quite a while since I've done a monthly recap blog. I can't even recall the last time I posted one of these, but here we are. July was a month filled with nothing but moments to be grateful for and I’m excited to share them with you.

July 2024 Highlights

Let me start with some of the key events from July.

Running Man in Manila Concert

I rewatched the Running Man in Manila concert, and this time I was accompanied by my best friend, Nica. Back when we were colleagues, we used to watch Running Man together. I introduced the show to her, and it always brought us a lot of laughter. I attended their first concert in the Philippines last year on April 1 and had a fantastic experience. When they announced their return for July 6, I hesitated at first, but my fondness for Running Man won out, and I decided to go. I'm really glad I went with Nica this time.

A Month of Long Walks

When I started working from home, I wasn't paying much attention to my physical fitness. I wasn't engaging in any form of exercise at all. However, when the second year of a virtual run and walk community event, a project I spearheaded at work, came around, I saw it as a great opportunity to re-engage in physical activity.

Surprisingly, I discovered a love for long walks. I found it therapeutic, as it's a free activity that allows me to explore the neighborhood and also provides time for reflection.

I love it and I even managed to keep up a week-long streak of walking. Even after the virtual run and walk event is over, I plan to continue doing long walks.

Back to short hair

I ended up cutting my hair (again!) and went even shorter this time. There's something about having short hair that makes you want to go even shorter, don't you think?

Watching Deadpool x Wolverine with my sisters

Before the month ended, I met with my sisters and we watched the Deadpool x Wolverine movie in BGC. It was a great opportunity for us to bond and enjoy a movie together. We also discovered a great place to eat if you’re around the BGC area called Love Luka Pizza and Bakery Co. Their food was so amazing yet affordable. I will definitely eat there again and will recommend it as well for others to try. It’s located on the Central Square Mall Cinema floor.

Personal Growth Update

In July, I achieved a lot. Establishing a regular walking routine has significantly improved my life. Typically, I start my day by going for a walk at 4pm or 5pm, which lasts for 1-2 hours. After returning, I take a shower, have dinner, read a book, journal, and spend time on my devotion. I also make sure to wind down for a few hours, and sometimes I even take a nap before starting my work shift from 11pm to 8am the next day. Once I finish work, I usually grab a bite to eat. Then, I spend 1-2 hours on content creation; if not, I head straight to bed and fall asleep.

Goal Updates

In my 2024 Mid-Year Life Update I shared all about what I want to achieve for the rest of 2024. I thought it would be great to provide you an update about what happened to them and my progress as I do monthly recaps.

Read 25 books - I only read one book in July so that puts me at 8/25 for 2024. The good thing is I already surpassed the number of books I read last year.
Publish more blog posts - I had three new posts on this blog which is an achievement as well. I wrote about 2024 Mid-Year Life Update - Goals, Habits, and More, 2024 Mid-Year Reading Recap, and What is a Mid-Year Reset and How to Do It.
Get back to social media contents - There’s much I can still improve in this area but I’ve been doing IG Stories well at least.
Upload YouTube videos consistently - My aim is to release 2-3 videos a month but I only did one for July. I do wish to increase this number in August.

Get active - I am just proud of myself for getting into long walks and it’s honestly one of the best things that has happened to me so far this 2024. I think for August I want to try incorporating other forms of activities, if I can.
Focus on good habits and routines - I had a great start establishing good habits and routines for July and wish to continue for August.

July 2024 Favorites

Beauty - My perfume for the month of July was Zara Red Temptation. As for makeup, I rediscovered my love for Fashion 21 Double Up Mascara, it’s just one of the best mascaras I’ve tried so far. I also bought a new makeup product, my very first Anastasia Beverly Hills makeup product. It's a soft brown Brow Wiz and a clear Brow Gel. I’ve already tried them both to do my brow routine and there’s no question why it’s one of the superior brow products out there.

Movie or Show - In July, I didn't have the chance to watch many movies or shows, but I did spend some time watching all of the late Rico Yan’s movies uploaded on YouTube. His sudden popularity in July prompted me to search for stories about him and watch his movies. I was surprised to learn that he was only active as an actor for 7 years, yet his legacy continues to transcend through generations even till now.

Song - For July I was obsessed with Billie Eillish’s Birds of a Feather from her newest album. It was such a great vibe. I also discovered Chappel Roan and her song Good Luck, Babe was on repeat.

Looking Forward Next Month

For August, I want to publish more blog posts. I wish to at least double the number of posts I published compared to July. I also want to finally upload 2-3 videos on YouTube. Of course, I want to ensure I still do long walks but as mentioned I wish to include other activities like a High-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout.

I will be spending the second half of August at my sister’s and will bond again with the doggos so that’s something I am really looking forward to. This is also special because I get to spend time with my youngest sister Karen now that she’s here in Manila.

I am really looking forward to celebrating the birthdays of two of the most important people in my life. My eldest sister has always been there for me, offering support and guidance, and my best friend Nica has been my rock through thick and thin. I am grateful for their presence in my life and I can't wait to make their birthdays special.

How to Do a Mid-Year Reset - 5-Step Mid-Year Reset

At the beginning of this month, I shared my personal mid-year reset. I am a strong advocate for mid-year resets as they help me gain clarity about my goals for the remainder of the year. While I typically set ambitious targets at the start of the year, the mid-year reset allows me to assess my progress and make any necessary adjustments.

Here's an overview of my 5-step mid-year reset process:

Step 1. Reflection

I dedicate a day to do my mid-year reset wherein I start with a reflection. I look back at the goals I set at the beginning of the year and evaluate what I have achieved, what haven’t been accomplished, and what I will no longer pursue for the remainder of the year.

During the reflection step, I also create a journal entry and freely write what I felt so far in the current year. Am I happy with how I spent my time, money, and energy? Are there any regrets I need to take note of? I also try to identify any of the challenges I faced.

Step 2. Let go

The next step is letting go. This is when I release the negative energy, forgive myself, and let go of any regrets and grudges I had over the past months. I also incorporate some cleaning during this time just for mental clarity like cleaning my physical space especially the areas where I spend most of my time - home office and bedroom.

Step 3. Redefine your goals

Now that you've had a chance to reflect and let go of the past, it's time to redefine your goals for the second half of the year. Take a look at the goals you set earlier and haven't yet achieved. Review what you will continue to work on, make adjustments, or set new goals if needed.

For example, if you had aimed to read 12 books by the end of the year but have only finished 3 books so far, consider if you want to stick with the original goal or adjust it to a more attainable number.

Step 4. Create a New Action Plan

Breaking down your larger goals into smaller, manageable steps can help set the tone for the coming months. This approach creates an action plan.

For example, if your goal is to read 9 books before the year ends, aiming to finish 2-3 books per month can be a practical step. Choosing the books in advance can also reduce decision fatigue and get you started on your reading goals sooner.

It's also beneficial to establish new habits that align with your objectives. Identifying these habits and integrating them into your daily routine can facilitate progress towards your year-end goals.

Step 5. Celebrate and Adjust

Finally, remember to celebrate the progress you've made in the first half of the year, no matter how small the wins may seem. Take the time to acknowledge and appreciate your achievements, no matter how minor, as they all contribute to your overall growth and success. This positive reinforcement can provide motivation and encouragement to continue working towards your goals in the second half of the year.

Remember, a mid-year reset is a journey, not a destination. Be patient with yourself and enjoy the process of growth and transformation.

Hello everyone! I'm excited to do a mid-year reading recap. This is my first time doing this, and I can't wait to share how my reading journey has been going in 2024 so far. Let’s begin.

The Stats

Here’s a quick snapshot on my reading stats from January to July 2024:

Number of Books Read: So far I’ve read 7 books.
Reading Goal Update: In 2024, I aimed to read 25 books, but I'm currently 6 books behind schedule. Despite this setback, I recently reaffirmed in my Mid-Year Life Update that I am not lowering my goal or making any adjustments. I am committed to challenging myself and reading as many books as I can, with the hope of reaching my target by the end of the year.
Total Pages Read: I read a total of 2,229 pages so far this year.
Genre Breakdown: In 2024, I've made it a point to diversify my reading by delving into a wide range of genres. So far, I've delved into 5 fiction and 2 non-fiction books, exploring contemporary fiction, self-help, Christian literature, mystery thrillers, and memoirs. This varied approach to reading has made this year stand out for me, as I've been more open to exploring different genres on a monthly basis.
Favorite Format: I absolutely love reading ebooks because they are so convenient for my on-the-go lifestyle. I find that I can quickly finish a book when it's in ebook format, which is perfect for my busy schedule. However, I also cherish the experience of reading physical books and am planning to read more of them in the coming months.

The Highlights

In my mid-2024 reading recap, I can confidently say that The Talented Mr. Ripley by Patricia Highsmith stands out as my favorite book so far. This 1955 psychological thriller novel introduces the captivating character of Tom Ripley and delves into his obsession to fulfill his desires. What I love most about it is the roller coaster of emotions it provides.

The fast-paced nature of the story reminds me of the gripping reading experience I had with Gone Girl, which remains one of my all-time favorite books. I was so taken with The Talented Mr. Ripley that I ended up giving it a 5-star review.

The book that surprised me the most was Mitch Albom’s The Stranger in the Lifeboat. As a fan of Albom's previous works such as Tuesdays with Morrie and Have a Little Faith, I had high expectations for this book based on its intriguing summary. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it surpassed all my expectations and became my favorite book by Albom so far.

My biggest disappointment goes to Taylor Jenkins-Reid’s Malibu Rising. Although it's a popular book on BookTok, I found it to be my least favorite among Reid's works that I've read so far. While I appreciate Reid’s storytelling, I struggled to keep up with the numerous characters in this book. Unlike her other books like Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Carrie Soto is Back, where there is one central character and the rest are vividly portrayed as side characters, Malibu Rising left me feeling overwhelmed with the multitude of characters to keep track of.

The Talented Mr. Ripley

Genre: Fiction, Mystery Thriller

It was a series of TikTok videos showcasing scenes from the movie version of The Talented Mr. Ripley that made me delve deeper into the story. Upon discovering that the movie was based on a book, I knew I just had to read it. I'm so glad I did because it turned out to be a hidden gem. I absolutely love this book, especially the writing style - it's just so good!

The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio: How My Mother Raised 10 Kids on 25 Words or Less

Author: Terry Ryan

Pages: 496

Genre: Non Fiction, Memoir

This is another book I read because I saw videos on TikTok from the movie version. It's a fantastic and inspiring story, perfect for anyone looking for a light read that motivates you to keep moving forward in life. I highly recommend this book, especially to aspiring writers, as the main character manages to support her family by winning writing contests. It's truly an amazing story!

The Stranger in the Lifeboat

Author: Mitch Albom

Genre: Fiction, Christian, Spirituality

"What would you do if you found yourself stranded in a lifeboat and a mysterious man appeared, claiming to be God?” This book will leave you yearning for more with its incredible writing. It offers valuable insight into coping with death, not only your own but also the passing of those around you.

Reading Goals for the Second Half

I still have 18 books left to reach my goal of reading 25 books by the end of 2024. That means I need to read and finish 3-4 books every month. It's definitely going to be challenging, but I'm determined to give it my best shot. On the bright side, I've already surpassed the total number of books I read last year, so I consider that a win for this year.

2024 Mid-Year Life Update - Goals, Habits, and More

Today I am doing a mid-year life update for 2024.

Although I missed doing this post last year, I did manage to share one in 2020, 2021, and 2022 if you're interested in checking those out.

This mid-year life update is a great opportunity to reflect on everything that has unfolded so far this year, from personal highlights and small victories to progress updates across various aspects of my life. It's also a chance to reassess my goals and priorities for the remaining months of 2024.

Let's begin.

2024 Highlights and Wins so far

This year has been a whirlwind of amazing experiences! I can’t be anything but grateful

For the first six months of 2024, here are what I’m most proud of:

I spent the holidays in the province for both Christmas and New Year. We went by car, so it was another long ride with my eldest sister. We traveled together with my other sister and my niece, Baby AJ, so I was happy that my parents were able to see their granddaughter after a long time.

I received a holiday PR package from Dazzle Me Cosmetics. It was an advent calendar, a first for me. I'm not often approached by brands for PR packages, so I am truly appreciative of Dazzle Me Cosmetics. This isn't the first time they've generously gifted me; in the past, they also gave me Php 2000 worth of makeup.

I had the honor of being the maid of honor at my cousin Shan's wedding. It was an unforgettable experience to witness my closest cousin tying the knot with the love of her life. Additionally, both my parents were in Manila at the time to serve as godparents (Ninong and Ninang). We were able to bond a lot during their visit. I've vlogged about this and you can watch it HERE.

I had the incredible opportunity to watch Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour in Singapore! It's still sinking in, and I'm so thankful for this unforgettable experience. My best friend Nica and her sister accompanied me, and apart from the amazing concert, we also got to explore Singapore, which was a first for all of us. Additionally, we had a long layover in Malaysia.

I had a wonderful time at Liwliwa Beach in Zambales with my eldest sister and the doggos. The beach was calm and stunning. Despite the intense heat, we had a fantastic time playing with the dogs on the beach and soaking up the sun.

I had an amazing time during the 3-day, 2-night Shangri-La staycation provided by our company. It was my first experience staying in a 5-star hotel, and it coincided with the visit of our bosses from Arizona to Manila. We had a great time bonding, enjoying karaoke, and even attending a Gatsby-inspired gala where I was honored to be awarded Female Star of the Night. The company also generously provided us with lots of freebies, making the experience even more memorable.

I have been reading books and I'm making progress towards my goal of finishing 24 books by the end of 2024. So far, I have read 6 books, which is already more than I read last year. Despite being a few books behind schedule, I believe I will surpass last year's total and I hope I reach my goal.

I had a great trip to Laguna with my sisters. We stayed overnight at Camp Wiggles in Pansol, Laguna, where we had a relaxing and restful time. Afterward, we visited Lucban, Quezon Province, and enjoyed tasting some delicious Lucban longganisa and pancit hab-hab.

I received an invitation to Cha-Ching’s One Million event at the Marco Polo hotel. It marked my first blog event this year, and I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to connect with fellow personal finance bloggers.

I met with my ex-colleagues at my previous work for a quick catch up about life and work.
I went on a 10-day vacation to our province to attend my youngest sister's college graduation. While there, we also took the opportunity to explore the beautiful sights of Cebu.

Areas of My Life and 2024 Goals Update

In my 2024 Notion Tour video, I discussed my 2024 goals across different areas of my life:

Here are some mid-year updates on each of these areas and the goals I've set.

Spiritual/Faith

My primary objective is to read the entire Bible. Although I have already read the New Testament, I am eager to embark on a journey through the Old Testament. Additionally, I aim to uphold a daily devotion and spend quality quiet time with God.

I must admit that I struggled to maintain these goals. Fortunately, I acquired a new Bible last May, which has proven to be very helpful as it includes a commentary. Participating in our church's Mid-Year Prayer and Fasting has been instrumental in rekindling my commitment to prayer and fostering a more intentional relationship with the Lord. I am hopeful for a spiritual revival in the coming months.

Personal Development

I set a goal to finish 24 books this year, and I'm happy to report that I've already completed six. This is a significant achievement, considering it's only halfway through the year. I've particularly enjoyed reading "The Stranger in the Life Boat" and "The Talented Mr. Ripley". In addition to reading, I'm still focused on establishing consistent routines such as journaling, devotion, skincare, and regular exercise or movement.

Financial

Ever since I started my current job, my overall finances have been good. Working from home has nearly tripled my earnings compared to my previous job. Despite this, I've noticed that I'm spending more and feeling like there's more room to spend now. I tend to spend on experiences such as travel and concerts. I acknowledge that I can improve my financial management, and I'm determined to do so in the latter half of 2024.

Health and Fitness

I haven't been very focused on health and fitness, but as I'm in my 30s now, I understand the importance of paying more attention to this area. I haven't been able to consistently meet my goals, such as incorporating some form of daily movement like a 15-minute workout and hitting 5,000 steps each day. However, I'm looking forward to making some positive changes for the next half of the year.

Blog and Business

Since 2022, I have not been that involved in blogging due to my graveyard shift work. It makes it challenging to establish a routine and dedicate time to blogging. However, I genuinely miss it, and I am delighted that I have managed to release some new posts recently. My aim is to increase the frequency of my posts and establish a structured approach to creating social media content.

I'm happy with my progress on YouTube. I've consistently posted at least two videos every month since February, and it's been going really well.

Relationship

I'm thrilled to be able to spend more quality time with my family. From visiting my parents and spending time with my eldest sister and her dogs, to catching up with my other sister's family and my brother's family, it's been truly wonderful. For the first time, we were able to treat our parents to a trip in Cebu.

Additionally, I've had the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and meet my current workmates. It's been a great balance of family time and social connections.

Work

I feel incredibly grateful and privileged for the work I have. I am fortunate to have a job that allows me to do what I love while being fairly compensated for it. Although some days can be quite busy, I understand that it comes with any work anyway.

What I Want to Achieve for the Rest of 2024

With only 6 months left until the end of 2024, there's a sense of urgency to make the most of this time. I feel a strong desire to accomplish all that I've set out to do and take on new challenges before the year concludes. The remaining months provide an opportunity to pursue my goals with renewed focus and determination.

Here are the things I plan to focus on:

Read 24 books. I am determined to read 24 books, even though I know I'm currently behind my goal. I don't want to adjust my goal because I still believe I can accomplish it. I've been dedicating at least 30 minutes a day to reading, and I'm hopeful that I can surpass the number of books I read last year.

Publish more blog posts. I aim to exceed my past two years' blog post count when I was absent from the scene. In 2022, I published 11 posts, marking a decline in my blogging frequency. My primary objective is to gain momentum and strive to double the number of posts I produce and publish.

Get back to social media contents. I want to become more active on social media. I need to revamp my social media presence and establish a consistent routine for posting new content.

Upload YouTube videos consistently. Currently, I aim to release 2-3 videos a month, but I plan to gradually increase the frequency in the coming months to make my schedule more manageable. After receiving a high number of pageviews on my YouTube video about personal finance, I've decided to focus on creating more content in that niche.

Get active. I want to be more active and prioritize my health and fitness goals. My aim is to engage in some form of physical activity every day, whether it's going for long walks, runs, or engaging in high-intensity interval training (HIIT).

Focus on good habits and routines. I have identified six key habits that I want to prioritize: journal, devotion, reading, exercise or movement, skincare, and supplement. By focusing on these habits, I aim to cultivate a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle that prioritizes my physical, mental, and emotional health.

Overall

I have high hopes for the rest of 2024. I am determined to fully commit and make significant progress toward accomplishing my goals for the rest of the year.

It involves creating a grid of 365 boxes, each representing a day of the year. Then, using a key of colors or symbols, you can fill in each box with the corresponding mood you felt that day.

2024 Intentions

In addition to choosing a Word of the Year, creating a page to list down your intentions for the year is a great way to stay motivated and focused.

By dedicating a page in your bullet journal to your intentions, you can expand on your Word of the Year and create a roadmap for achieving your goals.

Intentions are different from goals in that they focus more on how you want to feel and be rather than what you want to achieve. Intentions are more like resolutions that guide your actions and decisions throughout the year.

For example, if your intention is to live a more intentional and mindful life, you might set goals that align with that intention, such as meditating daily, reading more books, or spending more time in nature.

Today I’d like to share with you the list of books I want to read before 2023 ends.

So far, I’ve managed to read a total of six books, and I’m hoping to add more to my list. I made a similar post in 2020, and I thought it would be a great idea to do it again this year.

Sharing my reading goals with others not only motivates me to read more but also helps me discover new books that I might have missed otherwise.

Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by David Grann

This is the current book I’m reading as of writing this post and it’s so good so far. After watching the movie, Killers of the Flower Moon by Martin Scorsese, I was motivated to read the book it’s based on.

I'm particularly interested in learning more about Mollie and the Osage history.

David Grann's book is a detailed account of the FBI's investigation into a series of murders that took place in Oklahoma in the early 1920s. The victims were wealthy Osage people, and the book gives us insight into how the FBI cracked the case and convicted cattleman William King Hale as the mastermind behind the crime.

I’m so excited to finish this book and add it to my reads this year.

The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder by David Grann

This is another book from David Grann and his latest work published in April 2023.

The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder recounts the story of HMS Wager, a British naval ship that met its end along the coast of Patagonia. The survivors of the wreck eventually returned to England, where they faced a court-martial and gave contradictory accounts of the events that occurred.

I'm excited to read and finish "The Wager," a non-fiction book similar to "Killers of the Flower Moon." Both books are true stories that I'm eager to delve into.

I'm only 40% through The Employees but I'm thinking about starting it again since it's been a month since I last read it.

The Employees by Olga Ravn is a science fiction book that explores the interactions between human and android crew members on a futuristic spacecraft as they come across mysterious alien objects. The story is told through a collection of reports from the crew members, which are gathered by mediators from the corporation running the ship.

Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I have had the pleasure of reading two books by Taylor Jenkins Reid, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Carie Sotto is Back, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed by her writing style and storytelling abilities.

In this fast-paced work of fiction, Malibu Rising will take you on a thrilling ride through 24 hours in the lives of four famous siblings as they plan the party of the summer. I have no doubt this will be a great read.

Forrest Gump by Winston Groom

I have another book that I started reading, but I keep getting sidetracked by another captivating read.

Forrest Gump is a tale about Forrest and his escapades, which include shrimp boating, ping pong championships, and reminiscing about his childhood sweetheart. It was adapted into a movie featuring Tom Hanks, so I am quite familiar with the plot, but I am eager to see how the book differs.

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin

I've had this book on my TBR list since the beginning of 2023, but I haven't had the chance to read it yet.

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow’s story spans 30 years and explores the relationship between two intelligent friends who are deeply in love, but never become romantic partners.

It received quite a great review on Goodreads at 4.21 points and even won for Best Fiction.

That’s it for my books to read before 2023 ends. Six books that I hope to finish in less than two months. It's definitely doable, and I'm excited to find more inspiration to read even more.

Today I wanted to update you on my experience with COSRX. I've been trying out some of their other products and wanted to share my thoughts with you.

COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

The COSRX Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser is one of the well-known COSRX products. This face cleanser is perfect for those who want a gentle yet effective start to their day. The low pH formula of this cleanser helps to get rid of any excess oil and dead skin cells, while the tea tree oil and natural BHA help to refine and improve the texture of your skin.

What I love most about this product is how gentle it is on my skin. It doesn't leave any tightness or dryness after use, which is a huge plus for me. In fact, my skin feels soft and refreshed after every use.

Sometimes, I find the scent of the cleanser a bit too strong in the morning. Since it contains tea tree oil, it has a somewhat medicinal fragrance that might not be everyone's cup of tea.

How to Use COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

Gently massage the cleanser on wet skin.
Rinse thoroughly with water.

When I had a texture issue on my skin, I did some research and found that the COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner is an effective product to address it. I personally found it to be quite effective, but I made the mistake of using it with another exfoliant, which ended up being too much for my skin to handle.

As a result, my skin barrier got damaged and my dermatologist suggested that I stop using this product and switch to basic, mild products instead. However, I didn't want to let the product go to waste, so I started using it for my underarm instead as a part of my night time skincare routine. So far, it seems to be working well in that capacity.

If you're looking for an effective way to prevent the early development of whiteheads and blackheads, the COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner could be just what you need. This toner can also help treat flaky skin caused by a lack of moisture. Have you ever tried a gloss-to-stain product? I’m not the biggest fan of gloss but if it’s free why not try it, right? The Dazzle Me Glossip Girl Lip Cream is a gloss-to-stain formula that provides luster of a gloss, pigment of a lip cream, and stain of a tint.

You can use it and it dries down to a pigmented , glossy sheen and fades into a moisturizing yet lasting stain. The shades I received are 02 Preppy Peach which is an apricot peach color and Pink Punk, a raspberry pink.

I did receive two vibrant colors from the line which I think does not match my skin color that well. I’m excited to purchase the other shades like 01 Nudeze, a mocha nude or 06 Brown 90’s, a mauve brown.

Other shades from the Dazzle Me Glossip Girl Lip Cream line are 04 Brick Baddie which is a burnt red and 05 Redropolitan, a rouge red.

One of the best ways you can make 2023 better is to put more emphasis on self-care.

Self-care, by definition, is anything you do to take care of yourself. It is essential not just for our mental state but also for one’s emotional and physical well-being.

Here are 23 self-care ideas for 2023:

Take time to pause, breathe, and meditate

Put time on your day where you can simply take a pause, breathe, and meditate.

Make sure that you spend time to clear your mind from all the to do lists, all the worries, and all the overthinking. Even a five-minute pause is valuable.

Start journaling

One of the best self-care ideas for mental health you can do is journaling. Try to spend 15-30 minutes a day just writing down your thoughts. You can do this digitally using free journaling apps like Notion or Day One. A much more therapeutic way, on the other hand, is journal using pen and paper. I am personally guilty of worrying too much of what the future will bring. This will often than not give me anxiety and cause me my inner peace. Practicing mindfulness is something I need to be preaching to myself too. Mindfulness is all about being in the present. It’s becoming more aware of your innermost thoughts and feelings and can be an effective tool for self-care.

Spend time with friends and family

With times like this when we realize how precious life is, we have to be more appreciative of the people around us.

Weekends are a great way to reconnect with friends and family members. The work week can easily get pretty hectic that we don’t have that much time spent with family and friends.

Get quality sleep

I think this is the area I struggle the most lately. Coming from a typical 8am to 5pm job to a graveyard shift schedule is a lot of adjustment. But sleep is important. It helps in keeping your stress level balanced, your mood great and immune system strong.

Set goals

Last but not definitely not the last is to set some goals. Goal setting is such a vital part when it comes to personal growth. Having goals helps you in so many ways.

First, it makes you motivated for more. Now that you have a clear vision of what you want to accomplish you get to plan your next actions toward that goal. Next, goals make you accountable. Because you are doing it mainly for yourself, it’s easy to take responsibility for your actions.

Goals are meant to be specific, measurable, attainable, relative and time-bound. Make sure you are keeping your goals that way. Having goals to work towards in life helps you stay on track to improving and growing as a person.

Learn how you can stick to your goals.

Set intentions for tomorrow

Lastly, set your intentions for the next day. How do you want to feel tomorrow? Any personal goals you want to accomplish or make some progress on?

Beauty Resolutions I’m Going to Try

Today let’s talk about beauty resolutions.

I must admit that I haven’t been that great in terms of taking care of my skin. I try but time and time again I fail in keeping the routine. You can read this post, this post, and this post for ideas.

But it’s been five years and I am in a totally different season in my life. I am working from home at the graveyard shift which calls for a different lifestyle altogether.

So I am trying this again and sharing it with you as accountability.

Are beauty resolutions important?

You may have read and seen videos online of people sharing their beauty resolutions but what is it anyway and why do people consider them at the beginning of the year?

Beauty resolutions are a set of regimen you try to do consistently in order to unleash your inner beauty. It’s not just about makeup and skincare but can involve your overall health and wellness as well.

I’ve narrowed down the 2023 beauty resolutions I’m going to try as follows:

Focus on skincare
Drink supplement
Downsize my makeup and skincare drawer
Upgrade the makeup products I use
Take care of my body as well

Focus on skincare

I’ve never had a problem before dealing with acne no matter what skincare products I use. But since 2019, I have suffered from adult acne. Twice I went to a virtual consultation with a licensed dermatologist, got both topical and oral medication, and I did clear my skin.

However, when I stop the oral medication they come back. I can’t just rely on oral meds as they are antibiotics so I need to, once and for all, address the problem and get a long-term solution.

Here are my plans:

Visit a licensed dermatologist’s clinic. I’m done with virtual consultation and now I want to really pay a visit to the clinic and have current skin checked.
Follow a skincare routine. After my trip to South Korea last January I bought some K Beauty skincare items that I’ve been trying my hardest to religiously use. I’ll share about the K beauty skincare products I bought in Korea soon.
Use eye cream. I have bad and dark under eye circles long before I transitioned to a night shift. I tried a lot of eye cream but they always pass their expiry date because I can’t keep finishing one. I either forget about them or don’t see any results. I bought something in Korea that I’ll be trying to incorporate in my routine and I do hope it helps lighten and hydrate my under eyes.

Drink supplement

Before the pandemic began I went to Healthy Options to shop for vitamins that can help with my immunity and beauty.

I bought a bottle of Vitamin A & D, Vitamin C plus Rose Hips, and Collagen Complete. I love them so much but when I ran out of the vitamins I wasn’t able to repurchase them for some reason. That is completely my fault by the way.

For 2023, I want to go back to drinking supplements and will buy the same vitamins again. I also want to add glutathione. I think it’s time I experience the effect of glutathione. I’m looking at Aishi Tokyo by the way to start my quest on glutathione na mahihiyang ako.

Downsize my makeup and skincare drawer

Now I don’t have a big collection of makeup and skincare items but I do have products that still sit on my shelf I don’t really use. I have a number of lipsticks, palettes, lipsticks, and more that are just sitting there getting dusty.

I want to prioritize a day where I could just go through my makeup and skincare drawer and take out those I can give to someone and those I should definitely throw away.

Upgrade the makeup products I use

When I mentioned I’m capsule processing my beauty drawers this 2023, you might not see this beauty resolution coming. However, I’m really up to investing in some makeups that are already tried and tested through the years even though they cost much.

One of the products I’m looking forward to buying is the NARS Soft Matte Concealer.

Take care of my body as well

Last but not the least in my beauty resolutions list is to forget to take care of my body. I want to ensure I use a body wash, put lotion daily, and I exfoliate my body every now and then. It is my hope that doing this routine will help me look and feel better.

So to recap here are the 2023 beauty resolutions I’m trying out:

I will focus on skincare by visiting a licensed dermatologist, following a skincare routine, and using an eye cream.
I will drink supplements again such as Vitamin A & D, Vitamin C plus Rose Hips, and Collagen Complete. I will also try to take glutathione this year.
I will try to downsize my makeup and skincare drawer. Keep only the items I love and what works for me.
I will up my makeup game and invest in products that are known to work.
I will take care of my body by using a body wash, putting lotion, and exfoliating.

Sticking to beauty resolutions can be life changing. I remember at least a week or two of me following routine and being happy at the end of the day. It’s like quality self-care and loving yourself.

Hello and welcome to 2023!

How are you doing?

It feels like a lifetime since I last wrote a blog entry and I truly, honestly miss it. I miss the times when this online diary consumes every bit of my being. I will go to this blog, read past entries, and just be in awe of the memories I have through the years.

Blogging is a huge part of my life. It contributed to where and who I am today. As I welcome 2023, I’d love to take another chance at this. To blog just like before, be happy, and share what I can share.

And since I’ve been missing in action last year I thought it’d be great to share with you the events of my life as the very first blog for 2023. Let’s take a walk down the memory late, month by month, highlighting the noteworthy events of 2022.

January 2022

Trip to Eastern Samar

January was a big month for me. I spent 10 full days of approved personal time off to visit my parents and sister in our province, Eastern Samar. The last time I was in our province was 2018 and I was with my whole family. This time, it was only me and my eldest sister. And what makes the trip extra special is that it was a long road trip.

As I mentioned in my 2021 Mid-Year Life Update, my parents and youngest sister moved out of the house to live in our province. It’s been months since I last saw them so it was indeed a great moment.

February 2022

Date with Nica

Nica has always been a constant companion of mine and I treasure the time where we get together over coffee, a meal, and a lot of life updates. This was our first time meeting for 2022.

Got my Delonghi Espresso Machine

In December 2021, I attended a Thanksgiving blog and media event. I won one of the games and the prize was a Delonghi espresso machine. As someone who loves coffee this is one of the greatest things ever! I was able to claim it the first week of February and it was awesome.

Camping trip with the siblings

For the very first time I experienced day trip camping. My sisters and I went to Serenity Farm San Miguel By D Studio in San Miguel, Bulacan.

We arrived at around 8am, set up a car camp, roamed around the place, slept a little, ate lunch, had coffee in the afternoon, and went home. As much as we wanted to go for an overnight stay, I had a paid webinar I needed to attend. It was a great experience all in all and something I wish we can repeat.

March 2022

Date with the Coffee Monday Barkada

The month started with me meeting my Coffee Monday Barkada. The Coffee Monday Barkada is a friendship built from my previous job. We were hanging out over coffee every Monday and it’s there that our friendship grew.

We met in BGC, had lunch in Tim Ho Wan and coffee as well. Of course it was filled with life updates because aside from Nica, I haven’t seen the others in years.

My Niece’s Baptismal and First Birthday

March was quite eventful starting with the arrival of parents back in Manila. We had a lot of celebrations in the family for March with my Niece’s first birthday, my parent’s wedding anniversary, and my brother and nephew’s birthdays.

Before March ended we also had a new fur baby in the family! Yay! My eldest sister adopted a new fur bundle of joy.

April 2022

Spontaneous Pampanga trip

I always love our spontaneous Pampanga trips. Grateful for my sister’s car and the provision to do impulsive road trips to the City of Pampanga. We had lunch at Aling Lucing’s Sisig, a must visit whenever you’re in the area.

First Election Campaign Rally

I also had my first ever election campaign rally for Leni-Kiko in Pasay! I’ve never participated in one so it was truly a memorable one. We had dinner afterwards at Single Origin which turned out to be one of my favorite restaurant discoveries in 2022.

May 2022

Another Pampanga Road Trip

Mid-May I accompanied my eldest sister to her friendly basketball match in Pampanga. We stayed over the weekend on Airbnb with the doggos. After the match my sister and I bonded over some pizza near where we were staying and did a quick trip to Aling Lucing’s Sisig before going home.

Webinar for DLSU’s Exceed 2022

Grateful I got an invitation from students of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants De La Salle University-Manila Chapter (JPIA-DLSU). It was for their 1th Accounting Convention for Business Leaders, entitled EXCEED2022. Happy I got to share what I know as a resource speaker for "It Makes CENTS: The Art of Saving in Online Shopping." This class focused on online shopping platforms, which equips audiences with the necessary knowledge of what it takes to be an intelligent online consumer.

Celebrating Father’s Day with the family

In June I celebrated Father’s Day with my siblings. Since my father is staying in the province we had to video call him instead to do proper greeting. Writing this I can’t help but miss my Papa.

July 2022

Date and Ikea Trip with Friends

Went on a lunch date and IKEA window shopping with my friends from my previous work. We ate at Manam and went straight to IKEA to roam around. It was a great day.

Quezon Memorial Circle

It was my first time in Quezon Memorial Circle and what made it extra amazing was the dogs were with me. I didn’t know Quezon Memorial Circle was that good. The huge open space is perfect for bonding with the dogs and there’s the great steak place where we had dinner.

Last day at work

July also meant my last day at work. Leaving a job I’ve been in for the last five years was definitely hard but necessary. I said yes to an opportunity that is once in a lifetime and something I never even thought would happen.

Wais sa Buhay with Chinkee Tan Interview

August started a bit special as I had a rare opportunity to get interviewed by Chinkee Tan for a segment in Wais sa Buhay. It was streamed live on Pilipino Star Ngayon and The Philippine Star’s Facebook Page. Super grateful for the opportunity.

It was the first time that I was left with the dogs and I love it! I think it was the first time that I fully embraced my role as a Fur Tita. I never knew I could love dogs so much but my eldest sister’s dogs are just so adorable.

Getting my Kindle

I’ve been thinking about it for a couple of months but I do love to have a Kindle. I shared about my plan with my eldest sister and was surprised she gave her Kindle to me. It may have passed me down but the Kindle still works well and it did help me read more books.

I am lucky to have Shan as my cousin, she’s been my rock since day 1.

World Savings Day Financial Talk

Got an opportunity to do a financial talk for Cebuana Lhuillier’s World Savings Day celebration. For the first time since 2020 it was a face to face event which made it more amazing. I got to speak with bloggers and teach them how to restart your finances.

November 2022

Birthday at Sinagtala Farm Resort

I celebrated my birthday with a road trip to Sinagtala Farm Resort in Bataan. I was with my eldest sister and of course the dogs. We were there for an overnight trip and maximized the time by going a little early.

We head on first at Tsokolate de Batirol ni Nanay Dory and had suman sa latik and tsokolate de batirol. After that we went straight to Sinagtala Farm Resort to have an early check in. We went to a nearby market to buy some supplies and had lunch in a Japanese restaurant on the way. Day 1 ended with us just relaxing in the place and getting settled in.

The next day we went for an early walk around the vicinity. Sinagtala is a huge farm resort and there are plenty of activities you can do. We walked the dogs around and swam in the pool. After that we had to prepare for our trip back home.

Once we were home my sister surprised me with a mini cake and I blew out a candle and made a wish.

Boracay Trip

I also had my very first trip to Boracay. I went with my colleagues to celebrate Thanksgiving together. I was surprised at how amazing Boracay is. I had a great 4 days and 3 nights experience, free from work. We stayed at Station 3 and booked a hotel stay with free breakfast.

When I went back from Boracay I was craving for some steak! That time my sister was still on her work trip abroad so I ended up spending a post-birthday celebration and went on a solo date at Stoned Steak Tomas Morato. I super love the experience. I am grateful how I can now afford to satisfy my cravings.

Got invited to Spotify Creator Day Manila

December started with a bang as I got invited to attend Spotify Creator Day Manila. It was a by invitation event for Spotify podcasters and those soon to be podcasters. I used to attend blogger events before and the experience will always be surreal. This time I was seated together with Hasna of Pinoy Big Brother! I also met Joyce Pring and couples Jim Bacarro and Saab Magalona. They were the main speakers during the event.

Super Show 9 Concert Experience

Met with Nica yet again as we watched Super Junior’s concert together! The concert was originally set to happen in August but one of the members sadly lost his dad the day before the event. With that it was postponed to a later date which happened on December 17.

I love Super Junior and they are just the OG boy group to stan through the years. My bias is Ryeowook and I can’t help but admire his voice so much. I definitely had a great time watching the concert.

Celebrating New Year in San Juan Beach, La Union

For the first time ever we celebrated New Year away in Manila. We booked an Airbnb for 3 days, 2 nights and had fun together. I was with my sisters, my brother in law, and my niece during this trip. It was my first time in La Union and we even saw Wil Dasovich while we were walking on the beach front.

2022 was indeed the year of transformation. I never thought I'd be able to achieve the very things I achieved in 2022. I am grateful to God for all the blessings.
