Representing Toms Shoes

noreply@blogger.com (lizadooolittle) — Thu, 16 Jun 2011 22:37:00 +0000

Maybe I'm destined for philanthropy. For my first birthday, we requested new toys in lieu of gifts, and all of them were donated to MEND. In the spirit of helping children, Ninang (Godmother) Maite, donated a gift in my honor to Heifer International. It seems fit that my first gig is for Toms' One For One Movement, where for every pair of shoes or sunglasses purchased a child in need is given a pair of shoes or the gift of vision through prescription lenses.

When we circulated the link to family, Ninang Maite's comment was the best:

"It reminds me of a Friends episode where Joey gets a tv gig but you only see like the back of his head. LOL!"

Rainy Saturday, so we stayed indoors. Started the day with drum circle, but left early because I had a meltdown and needed a nap. Woke up to a goat cheese Brie and pear panini--a new favorite! Then I spent the afternoon playing until we met up with family at Curry House.

Our heater broke and it's suppose to be one of the coldest weekends, so my parents bought me this ridiculous(ly warm) outfit, which they call "the dinosaur." It may look like Purple and Pink puked on me, but it sure is snuggly. You know it's ridiculous when even the dogs snicker when I walk into the room. Cheap $10 thrills for the family, at the expense of my...wait, I don't have pride yet.
