A great masterpiece directed by George Clooney, show what is the true politics about.

THE GAME
Governor Mike Morris (George Clooney) is running for presidency against Senator Pullman in a Democratic primary. Both sides has been campaigning aggressively, with Stephen Myers (Ryan Gosling) and Paul Zara (Philip Seymour Hoffman) aiding Morris in his slight lead over Senator Pullman.

SETUP
Senator Pullman's head campaign manager Tom Duffy (Paul Giamatti) calls Stephen Myers one day to arrange for a meetup intention was to engage him into helping Pullman, not knowing that Tom Duffy is trying to jeopardize his job in the campaign. After the meet up, Stephen Myers was harrassed by the media and it was Paul Zara who informed the media. Now Morris lost a good helping hand while Pullman has one lesser opponent to face. A WIN-WIN situation for Pullman and great move by Tom Duffy.

GAMBLING THE LEVERAGE
Stephen Myers was totally devastated while he is out of job and Tom Duffy initial intention to pull him over was just a plot. The woman he loved committed suicide and he was nowhere to go. However, he does know Governor Morris's secret, a leverage which he forced Paul Zara out of job and becomes the next big man to Governor Morri's

It is the movie that shows the real politics in politics world. Perhaps this is why the cast received a combined 13 Academy Awards nominations, 3 Academy Awards, 23 Golden Globe nominations and 6 Golden Globe awards.

Got to watch it quick !!!

Melbourne Day 1 - Lunch Time at Jyu Jyu Japanese Restaurant

We got to hurry up to finish our lunch and reach the graduation ceremony by 2pm. My sis recommended this Japanese restuarant for lunch and I thought they could be better. Mentioned to be one of the better Japanese restaurant she has eaten before while in Australia.

Basically all the staff in this restaurant is Japanese, but they do speaks good english. The one in white is the owner and heard from my sis that he is very strict with the staff..

We got so hungry that we have ordered a meat bun to share among 3 of us ..

Surprisingly nice... lolx. Better than Singapore's meat bun.

Actually I was hoping high standard for their food, but yet it disappointed me totally. I ordered a Ten-don and the friend prawns & veggies should be very crispy. If you see the photo below... It is kind of oily and definitely soggy.

My mom order a Tempura Udon while my sis ordered a Gyuu (Beef) Udon.

Super expensive !!!

We are done with our lunch and now heading to the graduation ceremony ground by taking a short trip on bus.

Melbourne Day 1 - Super clean public toilet

Running short of time liaoz... Took a train with my mom and sis to Clayton, a place nearby to the graduation ceremony location. Of course the first time we looked for after landing at Clayton was the toilet. There actually ain't any toilet in the restaurant which we intended to go.

If you see this booth-like building from afar, it looks exactly is a carpark booth !!! The toilet is fully automated with voice assistance and the best part of it ? The toilet is super clean, compared to those in Singapore. It is absolutely free of charge and I think they did a great job of having this kind of portable toilet around the streets. Time to go for lunch..

Melbourne Day 1 - Reaching the hotel

Did not catch much sleep during the flight and ended up sleeping in the cab till arriving at our Somerset hotel apartment at Elizabeth Street. This is more like a family service apartment which has much amenities and also a small cooking area for perhaps some home cooking. But the stupid thing about this service apartment, if you are going with your family, why is there only one bed ? I thought they should include a sofa bed as well. The rooms cost est. AUS$ 250 per night, kind of expensive of this standard though.. Anyway, we are just going to put down our bag and go out for lunch.

Luckily the view outside was still not bad .

Has not been posting recently, so I decided to post about my trip to Australia.

After a long seven hours of flight, we finally arrived in Melbourne. Think about it, it was close to 5-6 years since I last visited Australia. Wonder how much it has changed.

七時間の飛行機を乗ったもんが、やっとメルポルンに着きました！今考えたと、僕もう五年ぐらいオーストラリアに来なかった。どんなに変わったなぁ。。

Don't be fooled by the photos, although it is a sunny day, but the wind is strong and cold !! blurrr.. But firstly... a cigarette... buay tahan ah ... Finally, we are ready to move off to our hotel apartment, Somerset Apartment by taking a cab.

太陽は強いと見られるですが、実は風邪が冷たく強いだったよ。写真に騙されないで。でも、空港に出たら、とりあえずタバコ一本吸った。七時間の飛行機、もう我慢できないや。はいはい、出発します！タクシーに乗ってホテルアパートに行きましょ！わ、寒い。。。

Durian shaved ice... Nice to eat but after the ice melted, it is like a overdose of milk mix...

Waffle n ice cream is nice , but the cocoa powder spolit it...

F&N Carbonated Soda ?

Who says that coffee cannot be carbonated ? I was away in a business trip in Indonesia and they offered me a drink which I am quite surprised. The moment I took the first sip, I knew I am in for it. Perhaps it is a new flavour, I couldn't get over the overwhelming taste of coke with coffee. Why F&N don't sell this in Singapore ? lolx.

I have been following on Fast and Furious series and Fast Five has proven they are back for more actions. Compared to the previous series, Fast Five has actually packed more actions (previous version simply talked too much don't you think ?) We have some old cast, but there are also new cast which freshen up the movie totally. I mean it is like, who is that gal over there ? (You will know what i meant in the next post on Fast Five). Today is the 2nd day of the National Achievers Congress 2010. One more day to go before I can have a good rest.. The time shows 12:55 am at this exact moment and I am not yet sleeping ? I think it should be rather normal to those that knew me, I simply don't sleep that early! Only managed to dozed off six this morning and missed the morning sessions of the NAC. I wondered how many speakers was there ..

Still in the mist of reading a book which was given free by one of the speakers, Adam Ginsberg yesterday, named "the legacy effect." Perhaps I has not been reading for the past few months, or rather years, reading a book means killing more eye power and brain cells to me, my eyelids simply failed to hold their positions. Luckily, this book has been inspiring and interest that prompt me to wake up everything I tries to visit the Zzzz Monster... I am now on Chapter 10 and with less that 30 odd pages to go, i will finish this book real soon..

By the way, I find this book very beneficial and if anyone who is interested, just just borrow from me. But remember to return back to me as I hoped more could have a glimpse at this book.

Going to continue my reading now and ending this post with a quote from the current chapter.

The Lincoln Lawyer - NTGUILTY

After sacrificing some hours of sleep watching this midnight movie, it is proven to be worthwhile to be late for work next day (oops, hope my boss does not see this post). Mickey Haller (Matthew McConaughey) is a low-level criminal defense attorney representing gangsters, mobs and addicts to get away with crimes with his different approach to justice while he earn his stash easily through his own ways.

If you can see from the poster, the car plate on the Lincoln he sat on wrote "NTGUILTY", already shows you this guy can be quite a punk though he is a attorney. Liked his attitude and style of handling people in the show.

He was right cool until he signed on to defend rich real estate agent Louis Roulet (Ryan Phillippe) for an case of assaulting a prostitute. This case slowly brings him to link back one of his clients, whom though pleaded he was innocent, yet Haller persuaded him to plead guilty to reduce his sentence from death penalty to life sentence.

This is a great show to watch and the twist is fabulous. I better stop here else all the excitement will be gone by the end of the post. You can catch a glimpse of the trailer right below here. I would rate this movie 4.5/5.
