What a clear example of how police in this country routinely violate our First,
Fourth, and Fifth Amendment rights. They
threaten citizens with arrest in order to get people to give up their rights
and assist them with an investigation. Phillip
committed no crime, yet these officers detained him without probable cause.
Saying that someone is “Suspicious” begs the question, “Suspicious of what
crime?” If an officer can’t answer that question, detaining someone is not
lawful.

This man's rights were being violated because of ignorance. I have to commend him for remaining calm and respectful in this situation. Because he did, he was able to turn it into an opportunity to educate. Awesome!

Complaint Audits

I once posted a negative coment about an interaction I had with state troopers. A friend who is an ex FBI employee commented attempting reinforce the popular belief that bad cops make up a very small percent of police and most cops are good. I used to think that was true too. Anyway, she ended her comments by telling me that I should make a complaint. After seeing these videos I have to wonder how that might have gone. Even if the complaint was taken, I doubt that it would have been dealt with in any meaningful way. Watch the videos below and let me know what you think.
