I know its been a while..... and I've been working on something very important. I think you should know this....

• First, I am working on the innovation ideas and strategies to bring the enterprise services from cloud to customers. Does this sound weird or do you call me "Nerd"? .... Got to wait and see what innovation thought would popup that would change the way we handle things.

• Second, I am working on upgrading JKhelp.com to a newer version of THESIS theme. What is this to me? Better performance, increased efficiency and noticeably faster (faster page loads) website. Apart from this, there are lot of enhancements relating to technical aspect that will help me, being a developer of this multi-blog website to design it more better. This newer version has been optimized and ready to perform in the search engines. Again got to wait to complete this upgrade.

Today, June 7^th 2010 is another BIG day for Apple for introducing another new amazing product, the new iPhone 4. Before that I would like to share this mind blowing numbers on iPad.

About new iPhone 4,

One of the most exciting announcements from WWDC today was iPhone 4 - high-powered successor to the iPhone 3G S and iOS 4 - the iPhone’s new operating system. Here are the brief details on iPhone 4:

The first looks:

Like the iPhone 3G S, the iPhone 4 is built out of stainless steel and glass. But unlike the iPhone 3G S, the new model has a boxy look to it, and plenty of sharp angles. That doesn't mean, however, that the iPhone 4 is overweight. According to Apple, the phone is 24 percent thinner than its predecessor. Jobs claims that the new iPhone is "thinnest smart phone in the world."

Under the hood:

The iPhone 4, like the Apple iPad, will run on an A4 chip, which should make for faster processing speeds. Jobs say the iPhone 4 will get the new iPhone OS 4.0 (called as iOS 4), which was first unveiled back in April. OS 4.0 supports app multitasking, tap-and-zoom support for video files, and a new ad platform called iAd. The operating system comes standard on all iPhone 4 units.

The camera:

With the advent of smartphones such as the Sprint EVO 4G, which ships with a 8 megapixel camera, the 3-megapixels on the iPhone 3G S were starting to look pretty white-faced. So the 5-megapixel camera on the iPhone 4 will be a welcome addition for many Apple fans. Its the same for the new video camera function, which Jobs says will record HD video at 30 frames-per-second. And a smaller, front-facing camera on the iPhone 4 will increase video chatting options.

The display:

The iPhone 4 will apparently ship with a next-gen screen that Jobs is calling a "retina display." That name conjures images of a sci-fi thriller, but the "retina display" doesn't scan your eyeballs. Instead, it offers "a better display than the human eye can even process." Jobs says the iPhone 4 screen will feature 326 pixels-per-inch, four times the pixel density of the iPhone 3G S.

The gyroscope:

Much noise has already been made about the two-axis gyroscope built into the iPhone 4. And for good reason: the gyroscope helps the iPhone 4 pick up a range of motions, including yaw, pitch, and roll. Steve Jobs used the gyroscope to demo a puzzle-type game at WWDC, but we can just as easily see the iPhone 4 technology being adapted for more complex games like flight simulation etc.

Battery life:

Speaking of iPhone gaming, Jobs says battery life on the iPhone has been greatly improved. No longer will your iPhone cut out on you in the middle of a good session of Tetris. The iPhone 4 gets 7 hours of 3G talk time, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 10 hours of Wi-Fi browsing, 40 hours of music, 10 hours of video, and 300 hours of standby.

Price and availability:

The iPhone 4 will hit shelves on June 24, and retail at two price points: $199 for a 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB device. The phone will come in white and black. If you have an iPhone now, and your AT&T contract expires at any point in 2010, you're in luck: Apple will allow you to purchase the iPhone 4 at the discount price, provided you re-up your AT&T contract for another two years.

About new iOS 4,

AT&T Announces New Lower-Priced Wireless Data Plans. Should we, iPad owners care about this? Check this out....

On June 7^th AT&T will introduces two new data plans to replace its current $30 unlimited smartphone plan according to today's announcement. In brief,

DataPlus:

• 200MB of data for $15 per month. AT&T says this will be enough data to meet the needs of 65% of its smartphone users. If you go over the 200MB cap, AT&T will charge you $15 per 200MB of overages.

DataPro:

• 2GB of data for $25 per month. According to AT&T, only 2% of its smartphone customers manage to blow through more than 2GB of data per month. If you go over the limit, you’ll be charged $10 per GB.

Tethering:

• Smartphone users that want tethering and have a DataPro plan can add the feature for $20 per month. This means you’ll be sharing 2GB between your phone and your laptop for $45 per month.
• But remember this: A 5GB data card plan costs $60 per month.
• This means — on average you’ll be able to have 5GB of smartphone and tethering data for $75 and not have to worry about two contracts.

“Tethering for iPhones will be available when Apple releases iPhone OS 4 this summer.” .

Wi-Fi at 20,000 AT&T Hot Spots:

• The vast majority of smartphones that AT&T offers have built-in Wi-Fi, which lets the devices automatically switch from the wireless network to a Wi-Fi hotspot without prompting, making Wi-Fi even more convenient and easy to use.
• This enables customers to use Wi-Fi in the home, office and at public locations where available.
• Wi-Fi will generally provide consistently fast speeds and does not count against a customer's monthly data plan usage total.
• In addition, virtually all AT&T smartphone customers have access at no additional charge to more than 20,000 AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots in the U.S. Customers can get more information on how to use Wi-Fi and find the location of AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots at www.att.com/wifiaccess.

How are these new plans affecting iPad users? Read further and decide for yourself which is right for you.....

iPad Users:

• Starting June 7th, new iPad customers will have two options: $15 for 250MB and $25 for 2GB of data.
• Any iPad customers who wish to stick to the $30 unlimited plan are free to do so, but AT&T is hoping most people will opt to save $5 and change plans.
• If you think you can squeak by on the new plans and save $5 to $15, AT&T will move you over to the DataPlus or DataPro plan without renewing your data commitment. Think about it.
• For new iPad customers, the $25 per month 2 GB plan will replace the existing $29.99 unlimited plan.
• iPad customers will continue to pre-pay for their wireless data plan and no contract is required.

From the iPad user’s perspective,

AT&T’s new pricing is a big letdown compared to the previous unlimited data plan. Since iPad is a far more demanding device when it comes to data, and activities such as Netflix and hulu streaming will quickly exceed the limit of AT&T’s DataPro plan. Two gigabytes per month is just not enough data for a device such as the iPad, and I think that many users will feel let down by AT&T’s new data plans. let’s take a moment to think about this.

Monitoring and Managing Usage:

Many of you are going to grandfather your unlimited plan, but some of you may plan to either save a few bucks or to enable iPhone tethering. If you’re one of the later, how much data will you need? Unless you’re planning to tether, it’s quite easy to check your past usage to guest how much data you’ll use in the future. Here is how:

• Hit up att.com and log into your online account
• Click on My Accounts and select Bill & Payments
• Click Billing Reports and select Data Trends
• Hit Submit

From there, you’ll be able to get a detailed history of your wireless data usage. If you’re an iPhone user, you can simply grab AT&T’s myWireless Mobile app from the App Store.

As of May 3, 2010—Apple announced that it sold its one millionth iPad on Friday May 1^st 2010, just 28 days after its introduction on April 3^rd. iPad users have already downloaded over 12 million apps from the App Store and over 1.5 million ebooks from the new iBookstore.

In less than sixty days. Apple today announced that iPad sales have topped two million in less than 60 days since its launch on April 3^rd. Apple began shipping iPad in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK this past weekend. iPad will be available in nine more countries in May and additional countries later this year.

I am really lucky and fortunate to own one, on the day of the Apple iPad 3G released. It is that moment of excitement, only privileged  iPad owners like me can enjoy .

Steve Jobs to Kick Off Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2010 with Keynote Address on Monday, June 7. Five key technology tracks includes: Application Frameworks; Internet & Web; Graphics & Media; Developer Tools; and Core OS.

I am so fascinated about Apple iPad & Apple products and I think I should start a new section to just share about the Apple Products & Apple iPad (exclusively), Favorite Apps, Breaking News and other Technology related cool stuff. OLPC’s mission is to provide a means for learning, self-expression, and exploration to the nearly two billion children of the developing world with little or no access to education.

Today the company has announced a partnership with silicon solutions maker Marvell that will make that concept a reality by 2011 — and for just $100 per device.

(OLPC) - “It’s not a laptop project, It’s an educational project.”

The hardware is being produced by Marvell using its Moby Platform, featuring a built-in camera for video conferencing, and support for 3D graphics and Flash.

Although the project’s version of the device will run the traditional Sugar operating system as an application, the Marvell version could ship with the Android operating system from Google, the Windows Mobile platform or Ubuntu. Marvell co-founder Weili Dai also told The New York Times that the first version of the tablet would be equipped with Google’s Android operating system.

OLPC’s Chairman Nicholas Negropante says the tablet will be part laptop, iPad and Kindle. He also hopes that the company will be able to produce 100% plastic devices by 2012, reduce the cost to $75 and include a dual mode display so that the tablet will work both in the sunlight and at night.

Negroponte added:

"At CES [2011] we will show a tablet that can be and will be used for children in the developed world that will allow us to start testing many of the things that combine, if you will, a laptop, an iPad, and a Kindle, and sort of take those and put them into one device."

Weili Dai, Marvell's Co-founder and Vice President, added:

"Marvell has made a long-term commitment to improving education and inspiring a revolution in the application of technology in the classroom. [...] Education is the most pressing social and economic issue facing America."

Again a crazy hectic week. Never ask about my work, it is always high priority, critical, urgent, etc, etc. you know how it is. Yesterday I was sick with allergies, cold and had to apply sick leave to take myself rest from work. But guess what? I ended up working whole day answering offshore team calls, client mails, issue resolutions and of-course some critical development. Lets get out of this topic.

You know the story, not much time to explore my new Apple iPad 3G. Hope to get some spare time this weekend.

I have an exciting news to share. Atleast it is exciting for me. I am going to present an Educational Session at ASUG Annual Conference event this year. The ASUG Annual Conference is held in Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida from May 16^th to 19^th, 2010.

My presentation is on Tuesday May 18^th from 11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. and my topic is "Developing High Quality Products using Test-Driven Development with ABAP Objects". I am very excited because, this is my first presentation in such huge ASUG Annual Conference. This will be even more exciting for those who attend as they would discover an agile strategy to improve software product development and learn about test-driven development (TDD), an agile methodology that addresses both design and testing and improves product design and product quality.

Hey folks, my whole schedule for last week and this week is really running crazy that I couldn't get back to my personal works and so my blog post. Moreover it looks like the seasonal allergies are of high intense this year. I had a tough time coping with these seasonal allergies. Now I am doing way better and Excited!.

I have good news to share....I bought my first Apple iPad 3G, it looks really cool.

As a proud owner of an Apple iPad 3G, I can say that Apple iPad is really a magical & revolutionary product. It is even worth waiting for 3G version, released on Friday 30^th April 2010. As I said, in my earlier blog post, I think "I am obsessed". Atleast that is what my friends and colleagues say.

Here is the picture holding the first iPad (WiFi version) at Knoxville Apple Store on April 8^th during my ASUG meeting visit.

It's altogether different experience holding this amazing product in my hand and seeing the awesome applications running so fast. I am so thrilled. It is worth waiting! .

It was an exciting day again waiting for the product to be released at 5:00 PM. It reminds me the day I had to stand in queue to get my first Apple iPhone. I had to get to my local BestBuy store, 2 hours early so that I don't be one of them who go empty handed. My local BestBuy store (Johnson City, TN) saved me a trip to Knoxville (nearest Apple Store). Thanks to BestBuy.

Surprisingly on iPad 3G release day, my local BestBuy store had only received 5 pieces and I was lucky to get the first one. It is really heart breaking to see many fans going back without the iPad. I think Apple needs to do something about this.

One other thing was that all the 5 pieces were 64GB memory capacity. I had initially planned for 16GB, but ended up buying 64GB, which is good :-). I am now starting to realize that 16GB would not have been sufficient to store all the content like the Photos, Movies, MP3, Videos, Books, Apps and Podcasts.

I should say "I am obsessed" with this magical and revolutionary product iPad. After seeing & listening to what this can do (including enterprise related), I am totally convinced. I can't wait to own one...waiting with patience.

Apple has announced that the 3G-enabled iPad will be launched on Friday, April 30^th. On April 3^rd, Apple introduced a version of the iPad that can access the Internet over a Wi-Fi connection. The upcoming one will have Wi-Fi and support for AT&T's 7.2 Mbps mobile broadband network.

Latest News: Those who have already ordered this version of the iPad will receive it on April 30^th, and the product will be in Apple stores after 5:00 pm on that day (I hope to grab one that day). Those who place pre-orders now won't get their purchase until May 7^th.

Cost: Device and Service

The 3G-enabled iPad will come in several configurations: Customers can reduce these costs $130 by forgoing 3G access.

Those who want access to AT&T's network will have the option of paying $14.99 for 250 MB of data or $29.99 for a month of unlimited data. This will be pre-paid directly on the slate, and no contract will be required. During the time customers have purchased 3G service, they will also have access to all of AT&T's Wi-Fi hotspots.

Note: While this device will have support for the cellular-wireless data standard HSPA, it will not be able to make voice calls.

An Overview of the Apple iPad

The iPad is Apple's answer to the netbook. It's a device that packs more functionality than a smartphone, but is also more portable than a laptop. This new device is an excellent combination of power and portability.

The center piece of the device is its 9.7-inch touchscreen with a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. It's the iPad's most critical feature, so it's a good thing that it's beautiful. Colors are vibrant, fonts are crystal clear and the support for a wide selection of viewing angles is amazing. Since it lacks a built-in physical keyboard, users enter text on the 9.7-inch, 1024 x 768-pixel capacitive touchscreen. Apple also offers a Keyboard Dock for typing and the iPad can support the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard.

The Apple iPad runs iPhone OS 3.2, a 1 GHz processor, which is a debut version of this operating system and come with a suite of software for browsing the Web, exchanging email and watching video, as well as a calendar and address book. Email can be drawn from consumer services like Google or Yahoo and business users can connect to an Exchange Server.

EBook reading will be a major function of the device. A new iBooks app lets users buy and read books. It's also going to be able to run third-party software written for the iPhone and iPod touch, as well as apps created specifically for the device.

In addition, it is able to access the iTunes Store to buy music, TV shows, movies and games. Because the iPad uses the same OS as the iPhone, it can run most of its 150,000 or so apps. The good news is that Apple is building much more support for multitasking into iPhone OS 4.0.

The iPad is 0.5 inches thick and weighs 1.5 pounds, and according to Apple has a battery life of up to 10 hours. You can find more detailed information here. Guided tours here.

I was quite busy last couple weeks. I am trying to catch up things....On Friday, April 9th 2010, I could attend the ASUG (America's SAP User's Group) East Tennessee Chapter meeting held in Knoxville, TN. It was very exciting to attend the meeting as this gives an opportunity to attend some educational and networking events. This particular meeting was more focused on some key technical aspects, which of-course will be exciting for programmers like me .

Meeting Highlights were:

• Thursday Night Networking Event: Hacker Night, Hilton
• Keynote Presentation: Business Process Excellence and the SAP Professional, Puneet Suppal, Vivido Labs
• Advanced Web Services, Peter McNulty, SAP
• Web Dynpro ABAP, Tom Jung, SAP

Of these, I missed the cream of the event - Hacker Night.

Anyhow, The most interesting part, that really caught my interest was one of the interactive session with Mr. Tom (Thomas Jung, SAP). When I asked Tom if SAP has any plan to make SAP product accessible through a mobile devices like iPhone or iPad? Will iPad be useful in Enterprise? He had shared this wonderful idea on how he setup his own cloud to access SAP through a compatible browser from anywhere.

Since iPhone and iPad has this compatible browser Safari, which has capability to access the new NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC) for HTML and WebDynpro for ABAP (WDA). Here are the pictures showing SAP running on iPad. (Courtesy: http://enterprisegeeks.com). Isn't this cool !!!

• You can run SAP instances in the Amazon cloud. (Using Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) to store persistent data)
• The results of running setup like this is a fast and cheap way of running up multiple systems with many features.
  • You are only charged running costs for those systems that are running
  • Low running costs (at the time of writing, $US 50 cents an hour)
  • Low storage costs ($US 15 cents / GB / month for your 50TB)
  • No more waiting for hardware – you can start implementation right now
  • Systems (i.e. extra application servers) can be implemented, but not running
