Spotted these at Target: Urchin wall decor *Updated

I've always wanted a set of these and so I just had to grab them! At my store there was one big urchin ($19.99) and two smaller versions ($14.99). These were painted black but the tips were spray painted a brassy color. The pictures online don't do it any justice. They are bit dark, I may go in with some gold spray paint to brighten them up, but first I need to find a place to put them.

*So I found a nice little spot for them next to the tv.

Birds & blooms and a new hidden laundry room

So right before my state of New Hampshire got clobbered with another snow storm I walked around my yard and saw a bunch of buds coming up through the mulch. I had planted a bunch of different varieties of crocuses and daffodils last fall and I have been patiently waiting to see them. Currently they're now covered with a mound of snow, this is adding to my frustration. It seems like this long winter will never end, but I know spring is right around the corner.

I don't know what it is about late winter early spring, but for me it always seems to involve a crowbar. This is what we plan on doing while we wait for things to thaw out.

My dream kitchen idea. Not happening just yet, but hopefully in the near future.

These are old pictures of my kitchen taken before we moved in. The space is in the shape of a T, the right side (above) is cabinets and appliances, the left is a breakfast nook and in front is the hideous laundry area that needs to be hidden. I'm still saving up to do make my dream kitchen a reality, but for now I think I'm going to work on the laundry room. What I want to do is get rid of the cabinets and put up shelves, a large countertop over the washer and dryer and build a small extending wall to hide that area and make it separate from the kitchen. I know this will make the kitchen seem smaller, but right now the space isn't working. I don't have places to put things away. The kitchen has become a total mess just like my office once was (when you scroll down you will see what I'm referring to). I like being organized when there is a place for everything to go, but when I hate a room I basically neglect it and don't enjoy keeping it neat and tidy. I have started to rip out the cabinets and have plastered up holes. I will show you those photo's soon and how messy I let this room get, I'm gonna let it all hang out.

New line of Orla Kiley soaps

I went to Target today and was surprised to see a new line of Orla Kiely soaps. My favorite scent (in the green bottle) was called tomato vine, and it smells like a tomato vine, I love it! Reminded me of the bay leaf sent, which my husband has grown to love.

So I went to my local craft store and was surprised to find a long standard frame that measured 12"x36". I picked this one up at A.C.Moore, metal edge and glass, not plastic. I scaled the print to fit and popped it in, it's amazing what a nice simple frame will do.

Hello, hello new year!

Hey everyone, I've had an exciting past few months. First off I dropped my laptop and destroyed the poor thing and had to get my hard drive recovered. There were a few weeks where I thought I could have lost everything! Luckily I have it all back, thank goodness!

Ok lets talk about some good news. A pattern of mine is set to cover the new January issue of Flow magazine! I think there may even be an illustration of mine in there too.

Flow is a magazine for paper lovers. Flow is all about positive psychology, crafting, mindfulness, and not being perfect. We do so by presenting attractive stories around the themes simplify your life, feel connected, live mindfully, and spoil yourself. Each issue is printed on a special assortment of paper and contains creative inserts, such as coloring in pictures, special notebooks, and handy calendars.

I also have a really cool project in the works and I want to tell you all but I'm forced to stay zipped. Argh! I'm such an impatient person. Hopefully soon I will be able to spill the beans.

I love my aluminum tree again! I got it years ago from someone on Craigslist for $25 (back when I used to find treasures on CL). I never found a color wheel for it and because it lacked light of any kind I started to use it less and less over the years. A tree without light is a bit boring.

Not sure if it's all the caffeine I've been consuming or the fact that I broke my computer and have more time on my hands I decided to spray paint a string of lights. Now that the cording is silver it blends right into the tree. I used some blue tape to cover the bulbs before I painted. I bet a string of lights and a color wheel would look fab.

Totally have quilting on the brain. Above is a quilt made with my upcoming farm fabric with Moda called Oink-A-Doodle-Moo. Not sure who made this blanket, but it's gorgeous! The plans for this quilt will be for sale in March along with the rest of the line.

Also did some searching on the web and found these quilts made with my Mod-Century fabric. I'm really looking for a smallish wall quilt made with this fabric. Would love to have it in my studio, if anyone out there has anything for sale please let me know. Thanks!
