Awwwww shit yo, its Friday and its time to loot the inbox like they did in New Orleans before it was wiped off the face of the Earth. So now I finally have a few free minutes to put up some new tracks for you all, there’s literally about 50 on my desktop that I’ve been wanting to post, but for now I’ll just share the last few that really stood out. 

First up, check out this track by The Sterehoes.  I know, the name is a bit odd and at a glance is almost identical to The Stereoheroes.  This track also does sound like it samples ALOT from Poney Poney’s “Cross The Fader“, but we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt on this one and hopefully there are a few more like “May 68” in the near future to put our minds at ease.

Next up, check out a little peice of Swedish Ghettotech from Basutbudet.  This has been out for awhile now, but I recently rediscovered it and was glad that I did.  I love the DIY feel on all Markus’ tracks.

Recently, the long awaited Van She album, “Ze Vemixes“, which consists of all Van She Tech remixes of Van She originals, finally dropped worldwide.  The rework of “Techno Music” is definitely one of my favorites, reminds me of the ghosts of banger past, back when Van She Tech pumped out amazing remix after remix:

And finally, one last track bfeore I pass out from lack of sleep, here is Bogdan Irkuk’s remix of Sally Shapiro’s “Miracle“.  I love everything about Sally’s soothing voice and the 8+ minute backing track that Irkuk has set it to is the perfect landscape, much better than the original in my opinion (although it sitll doesn’t match up to this one we posted before).

Here are some semi-new tracks from Proxy out of Moscow and Montreal’s Tiga.

First up, is a Proxy remix of Tiga’s “What You Need “off his recent release, Ciao. This track is not that new, but it hasn’t received as much attention as it should have from the blogs. Proxy seems to consistently put out great dancefloor tracks, so we figured we would put it out there again for anyone who missed it.

Next up Tiga does the remixing. The artist he remixes is Fever Ray, who is actually one half (Karin Dreijer Andersson) of the musical duo, The Knife. I really like what Tiga did with this track. This is another track that isn’t getting that much love from the blogs, so here it is.

Seriously, the guys who write this blog are total dicks, they haven’t posted anything in like almost 2 weeks.  Ok, well we’ve been a bit busy, working on some other stuff, trying to pay rent, and helping with TheHype.FM launch.  We figured it was about time to give you a few more tracks to hold you over until we can start posting regularly again.  In the meantime…enjoy!

Take a listen to this and you will understand why it’s on our site. France’s 4 piece group, Chateau Marmont is responsible for this one. Everyone knows Dim Mak founder, Steve Aoki. Incase you don’t, he is that asian DJ that makes vulnerable girls more vulnerable with bottles of Grey Goose. Well, when he’s not busy with all that he is in the studio making some respectable banger tracks. I gotta say this one is a little more than respectable.

I used to be a big fan of hip-hop, a huge fan actually, especially back in the late 80’s and early 90’s when it was more about expression and story telling than bling and catchy one liners.  Somewhere between the Soulja Boy take over and implementation of the ”must auto-tune everything rule” though, I stopped listening; forever removing Hot97 off of my FM presets.  Lately though, I’ve been noticing a alot of rappers breaking into the mainstream (or at least the stream) that have been doing it a bit differnet, with some originality.  Unique lyrics, experimental beats, lack of auto-tune…all things that have been getting me interested in hip-hop again.

Here are a few tracks that caught my attention.  I have a ton more, so if you like them, speak up and I’ll post more:

So many tracks to post in so little time and didn’t want to be on the computer much on the 85 degree sunny days we had.  Anyway, this is going to be another super post, its just easier for us to do 1-2 long posts a week then spreading them out.  If you don’t like it, sorry; if you do, you’re welcome. 

First up we have a little peice of genius by UK producer/remixer Grum.  This has been blogged a decent amount already, but there is no way I could not share this, its just too good.  Friendly Fires have never sounded so good and I love the euphoric breakdown about half way through.

Next up, I wanted to post that I have been loving alongside the summer-like NYC weather we’ve been having (until yesterday).  This time, Imogen Heap gets a somewhat minimal vocoded makeover from BK’s own Tommie Sunshine.  Such an upbeat, depressing track.

I also wanted to post something a little different, to give a bit of a plug to a great blog I stumbled upon.  It’s called Blog The Oldskool, dedicated to early 90’s Jungle/Breaks/Hardcore and everything related.  I always admire the niche blogs that do something a bit different than the masses, cause you know its all for the love of the music.  Anyway, here is one of my favs off the site, “Stimulation” by Intellect.

Next up, check out the latest remix from our Australian friends, Calling In Sick.  They have the rare ability to keep pumping out bangers that are in no way annoying or repetitive.  I don’t know how they do it, nor do I really care as long as they keep it up.  This time they take on Grafton Primary’s “All-Stars” and turn it into something that reminds me a bit of the first few Designer Drugs remixes (big compliment):

This next track I wanted to post, well, I’m not quite sure how everyone will feel about it but I like it so I thought I’d give it a shot.  This was sent to me by 19 yo 70’s rock loving Parisian who goes by the name of Adult Roy.  What I love the most about AR isn’t even his music (which is good) but the entire concept of his project.  The music is going to be the backdrop to a burlesque style stage production which will be performed live in a Parisian night club next year.  Not just that, but the themes of the music/play include murderous dragqueen mermaids, aztec gods, vampires, teen gangs, and much more.  I’m also a fan of the DIY bedroom production style, but then again, I don’t think this one’s for everyone:

No, we’re not taking a break from posting, although I’m pretty sure Keylow has since he never posts the things I send him (HINT!); but these are just some tracks I thought I’d post because they are the real mellow kind of chill out tracks that are a perfect break from all of the fast tempo dancefloor hypemachine hits.

First up, this is one of my favorite remixes ever.  It is a downtempo/ambient remix of Motorcycle’s 2003 hit ”As The Rush Comes“ (by the original producers themselves) bringing everything the original was missing.  Just an all around amazing track, or maybe I just have a soft spot for songs that romanticize narcotic use, you be the judge:

Next up, I wanted to post this track by Nuuro titled “Avila“.  Nuuro is a Venezualan musician currently living in our own NYC, but reminds me alot of M83 blended with all of the finer parts of The Postal Service.  A great track that’s been on heavy rotation here.

Also, I wanted to post this track by Joris Voorn called “Addict“.  Joris is a Rotterdam based producer/DJ that’s been making hardware based electronic music since the late 90’s.  Not much of his work really appeals to me, but something about this repetitive erie track always relaxes me.

Finally, I wanted to post 2 last tracks.  The first, one of my favorites off of one of the best LPs of the 21st century, and the second a track I’ve loved for a very long time.  I think you can figure out which is which.

The Pristine Blusters, three DJ/producers based in Rio and Sao Paulo Brazil, are pretty much unheard of in the blog world and we’d like to change that right now.  Their 5 minute minimix titled “Across The Time” (Download HERE)  did get some attention (think of it as Girl Talk on steroids…if that even makes sense), but it was their original produtions that really sparked my interest.  They combine Baile Funk rhythm and beats with hard synths and artists like Mr. Oizo to create something that sounds somewhat familiar but also very new. 

This first remix, of Brazilian artist MC Gi’s “Quer Romance“ reminds me alot of Bonde do Role plus a little Miami Bass style minus the Bonde humor; I’m a big fan:

Next up, check out their take on Mr. Oizo’s “Positif“.  I don’t like this one as much as ”Quer Romance“, but any remix that turns an Ed Banger track into Rio Funk is worth checking out, don’t you think?

Finally, one last thing you should check out is Buffet Libre’s latest mixtape titled Hit2.  We as a rule, usually don’t post mixtapes that aren’t our own, but for this one we made an exception.  Other than the inclusion of my most hated song at the moment (Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance“)  this mix keeps your attention start to finish, and is worth checking out.  Download Hit2 HERE.
