I know, I know; it's been ages since I last posted anything. Honestly I'd be surprised if anyone still reads this site after such a long hiatus, but once school and work get the best of you, its a slippery slope. Hopefully this new track by Spank Rock (who have been non-existent for the past 2 years) remixed by the one and only Todd Edwards will be a nice start to my apology.
Once again, I've risen from the early morning ashes to bring you something for your ears to feed on. My insomnia is your gain, and this morning I brought along a little bird to serenade. It's an Oriol, but this time there's no Cal Ripken, Jr. Enjoy the sounds, absolutely beautiful, each one a track that gives you 3 in 1; and honestly tell me that these tracks don't mentally transport you to the beautiful serenity above.

I don't know if you are aware but all house music is created at one central location, pictured above (Montevideo, Uruguay). But what about the house music created outside of the house music house you ask? Impostures! Just ask Kylie Minogue, recent collaborator with Joel Zimmerman aka Deadmau5 or house music legend Sergey Tkachev and they'll tell you what's up. They followed the rules, put in the man hours, did the research, and pumped out two tracks that not only fit the spec, but fill up a dance floor like a fire at the bar. Enjoy these two new gems, and remember, make sure its the real thing next time before it's too late!
Sorry for the little delay, been a bit busy slaying jacuzzis lately...somebodies gotta do it. I love this new remix by Kingdom, sounds like something that was thrown together with a bunch of house and hip hop samples, with a little bmore and a few clever reverses to set the mix off just right. Combine that with the beautiful Chicago-esque vocals, some well placed bass synth stabs, along with a sort of Fruity Loops charm and this thing is stuck on repeat.
The new Mount Kimble LP is easily one of the greatest pieces of music start to finish I have heard in years. Each track blends seamlessly into the previous and the next, like a 70 minute ambient sound scape with no start or finish, just bliss.
Today I have 2 beautiful tracks for you. The first is by the still somewhat underground indie unit, Tycho, remixed by Mux Mool. Second up is the new project of our friend Jordan aka the former "Adult Roy" now under the moniker "Drungk Shapes". In the past alot of his work was a bit too experimental for most but I could easily see his new project becoming an object of affection with the Pitchfork/G vs. B crowd. Check it out for yourself.
A few days ago I got my hands on a 2001 Electronica compilation titled Bio Rhythms and I've had it on repeat ever since. For some reason it not only appeals to me much more than the new releases I've picked up this past week, but it also somehow sounds much more current. See what I mean for yourself:
Die Antwoord means "The Answer" in Dutch or Afrikaans or whatever language they speak. The answer to what, I don't know. What I DO know though is that everytime I've heard them over the past few months something like the above picture consistently pops into my head. Straight hood yo. I know this isn't exactly new stuff, but this picture and the "get the eff out of my head" value of "Wat Pomp's" chorus made it too hard to pass up.
