I have found that pastel purple is not used

often enough

in the design of interiors.

It was refreshing to have a project to work on that was not a neutral color.

Bean Bag Chairs

The Most Recent Installation

required Bean Bag Chairs.

They were custom made by

Curved Space in Toronto.
We used fabrics which coordinated with
the window treatments.

These Bean Bag Chairs

are extremely comfortable, and

mold to your body.

The foot stool is a great addition to prop your

feet up and can be used as an extra seat.

If you'd like to have one made,

ask for Wolf at Curved Space.

He'll help you with your custom order.

Wouldn't these bean bags be great for
the College or University Student
in their dorm room or flat.
Kid's love these but adults would too.

Palladian Window Covering

Many New Homes

have these curved top windows.

They are lovely left exposed when located in

an entrance way or Living/Family room.

They present a problem however,

when in a bedroom.

Here is a window treatment solution

which blocks out the light in the bedroom.

A curved top Roman Blind.

This one is made from a soft linen fabric and trimmed

with a multi colored grosgrain ribbon.

Added on to the bottom half of the window

is an Inset Sheer Roman Blind.

*****

I am always looking for curtain styles for these windows.

Vintage Tablecloth Roman

Roman Blind from a

Vintage Table cloth, An undetailed Tutorial

I have made many a project with vintage fabrics, be it part of an old dress,

hankie, lace, drape, bedding.

*****

To make this Roman Blind a vintage table cloth has been used.

Firstly, you must prepare the fabric by bleaching and washing out any stains.

The next step is to patiently iron and steam until the piece is wrinkle free.

This is where weights come in handy.

Stretch from all four corners... steam, steam steam.

Cut the fabric ( finished size plus turn back). I allow 2 inches to turn under for the sides.

For the Hem I allow 3 inches turn under where the dowel will be inserted.

Allow 1" at the top to turn back with the soft side velcro. The hard side velcro will be on

on the board which will be mounted to the window.

I've used a Block out lining for this blind as it is for a bedroom window.

The sides are hand stitched for a smooth unpuckered finish.

Rows of Rings are added and strung with cording.
