	One of our favorites of the year. 'Imperial Dragonfly' made her debut at the AGTA Spectrum Awards. This beautiful dragonfly pin/pendant is comprised of green jade, diamonds, rubies and sapphires set in 18K gold.
	In 2015, green jade designs maintained their popularity as the annual top selling color of jade. This ring is a great example of the more contemporary styles from our designer. Long, curved green jade rectangular stone set in 18K yellow gold ring with princess cut diamond side stones.
	Sales of ice jade designs continued to be very strong in 2015. Just as the green jade ring above exemplifies the more contemporary stylings of Kristina's designs, these ice jade earrings represent many of her more updated traditional designs in her collection. Icy jade cabochons set in 18K white gold with diamond bezel & accents.

Due to the popularity, we are expanding our Mason-Kay Designs by Kristina Collection in 2016.
The fifteen designs below are a sampling of our newest designs from this collection. We will be exhibiting at several trade shows this year, including AGTA Tucson (Booth 1200), the Atlanta Jewelry Show (Point of View Gallery-Booth PV29) and JCK Las Vegas (Booth B25147) . The other colors have always been popular, but recently ice jade and water jade have grown in popularity. Ice jade is devoid of color and when found with translucence has an amazing glow! Water jade refers to jade that has just a bit of color, usually a slight hint of green, giving it a 'watery' sheen. Mason-Kay sells to jewelry stores all over the country and therefore caters to wide variety of styles and tastes. We, of course, have large oversized earrings. We often use large carved jade for earrings as it mitigates the weight and provides a colorful, large statement without weighing down the ear. Shown below is a beautiful pair of water jade triangular shaped carved earrings. They are intricately carved with a dragon design and set with matching water jade accents and sapphire bead roundels. Also, shown below are a pair of green jade carved 'fan' earrings set with beautiful red jade disc tops.

Besides a large carved earring, we have also seen a resurgence of larger green jade tear drop earrings. The standard green jade tear drop earring has been a staple for years, but with a newer, younger customer base growing the larger green jade and other color, larger, tear drop earrings have been in demand.

Jade stud earrings and small drops closer to the ear have remained big sellers for Mason-Kay. A very popular style by Kristina is shown below in green jade, lavender jade and red jade of an oval or pear shape (sometimes also round) cabochon stone set in a simple bezel or sometimes with milgrain edging with a diamond top and euro lever backs.

However, this year we heard many groans and grumbles of disappointment from other vendors. It seems sales were very disappointing for many. Unfortunately, the industry as a whole has been complaining, but luxury sales always seem to ebb and flow.

Now, water jade is very similar to ice jade, but it exhibits more of a watery color with light shades of green. Water jade can also demonstrate levels of translucency. As with all finer jadeite, the tighter the crystalline structure the higher level of translucency and therefore the finer quality.
