In the Limelight: Too Faced Cosmetics Absolutely Invisible Translucent Pressed Powder Product Review

Why do cosmetic companies come up with long names for their products? It's been making me wonder for a while now. Anyway, I am reviewing the pressed powder that I have been using since January this year, which I got a while back from Apothica. I have only tried the Caribbean in a Compact Sunny Bronzer and the Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder (which is now a favorite) but I was impressed in the quality of their products, so it goes without saying that I have high hopes for this product. Read on for the review.

Here is how this powder is described on the Too Faced website:

What It Is:

Micronized pigments literally “float” atop skin to even out tone, eliminate unwanted shine and set foundation. An exclusive combination of complexion perfectors increase elasticity, moisture and firmness.

More To Love:

Preventative & Powerful Antioxidants: Free radicals are blocked, UVA & UVB damage is reduced and repaired.

Seaweed Extract & Sea Water: Increase moisture levels, elasticity and heals environmentally ravaged skin.

Chamomile: Soothes and calms, helping skin rejuvenate.

Vitamins: A, C and E, a daily dose of vitamins for the skin offer long term benefits and a healthier complexion.

What I like:

First off, the compact is really cute. It's not the most classy packaging as compared to Chanel and higher end brands but still very nice and girly without being too pink. There is also a nice inscription on the mirror inside that says "Why be pretty when you can be gorgeous?". There is also a separate sponge compartment which somehow makes it more hygienic though bulkier than say, MAC Blot.
The texture is fine and silky smooth and blends easily on the skin. The finish is more satiny than matte so although it looks kinda matte, it definitely isn't flat and dull.
It's not translucent as I expected. It has a slight tint to it which is good if you want a little color on your powder.
Oil control is pretty good and keeps my face shine-free for about half a day and then it gets dewy as the day progresses. But on really hot days, expect oil control to be a tad shorter.
It contains a generous amount of 9g.
It is infused with Vitamins C, A, & E which are claimed to be good for the skin.
Has not caused any irritation or break outs.
Does not turn ashy on me.
Has a shelf life of 12 months. But you know powder, right? They last longer than cream ones.
Fairly priced at $27 based on Too Faced SRP. If converted to Php, it a little over Php 1000.

What I don't like:

I know it's supposed to be translucent and not alter the foundation shade but it somehow manages to do just that. It could also be due to my being acidic, though.
Brand isn't locally available so you have to rely on resellers (which are sometimes ridiculously overpriced though some are reasonably priced) and pre-orders if you want to get your hands on these products. I wish someone would bring this brand here as it is slowly growing on me.

Overall rating: 4.5/5

Will I buy again? Probably not. I still like MAC Blot a little better probably because it's much more accessible here in the country.

In the Limelight: Tarte Amazonian 12-hour Clay Blush in Dollface

My first Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush experience was okay with the shade Blissful. While it wasn't a blissful ending for me and that blush, that didn't stopme from trying another shade from the Amazonian Clay Blush line and got myself Dollface. I have been using this since last year and I decided it's time to finally review it.

What I like:

The shade is a cool light pink that turns warm on me after a while. Please do note, though, that I am acidic and almost everything oxidizes on me. It is pretty and brightens the face.
Surprisingly, it stays longer than Blissful considering that that shade is more pigmented than this one. It stays for about half a day before it fades then eventually disappear.
It has not caused any allergic reaction nor any break outs on my skin.
I got the deluxe size with 3.4g of product but since a little goes a long way, I can just imagine not being able to use it up in 2 years. What more if its the full-sized one?
Unscented.
Animal cruelty-free.
Brand is not locally available in department stores but can be purchased through online resellers for around Php 1000-1400.00 depending on the seller,
Has a shelf life of 12 months as indicated on the label but as for powder products, it can last for up to 3 years if used very carefully keeping it sanitized all the time.
Since it is the smaller version, compact is a bit smaller but still cute and will easily fit even in small purses of pockets.

What I don't like:

No mirror. Becca cosmetics have compacts that are as small as this one yet they were able to put mirrors. This is just minor and I can live with it.
Compared to Blissful, the texture of this one isn't as smooth and silky but still blends on the skin especially when a brush with not so soft bristles are used. Still works with a regular blush brush though.
Still oxidizes but at least it turns out nicely.
Still no 12 hours on the skin.
Not locally available in department stores.

Overall rating: 4/5

Will I buy again? I would if I don't happen to have any favorites but sadly, I have faves. So I might skip on repurchasing but it's not the blush; it's me. :-D

In the Limelight: Laura Mercier Secret Concealer 2 Product Review

For someone with allergies and asthma, dark under eye circles is something I have always dealt with. No amount of sleep and eye creams can counter these dark circles so I have come to accept the fact that my under eyes will always be that way. Since then, I have always been on the look out for concealers that would help "hide" these dark circles. I have tried a few and one of them is the Laura Mercier Secret Concealer in shade 2. Prior to my purchase, I was choosing between this and the Bobbi Brown Concealer but the shade that matches me isn't available at that time so I ended up going home with this one. I have been using this for a while and read on for the review.

What I like:

The shade 2 is a match for my skin tone. I am a MAC NC25 for reference.
The shade does not turn grey on my under eyes. I am acidic and most concealers turn grey on me which can be quite annoying as it makes my under eyes look dull.
It works not just as a concealer but also as a corrector since it is a salmon shade.
Opaque.
Creamy and easily blends on the skin.
It visibly conceals the dark circles and would work so much better for those who do not have very dark circles.
No allergic reaction, no milia or pimples.
Has a shelf life of 18 months.
Locally available at Rustan's for Php 995 / 2.2g pot.

What I don't like:

Since it is creamy, it tends to settle on the crease and lines on the under eyes.
It also tends to slide off in just a couple of hours even if set with powder. Does not even last half a day on me and it's gone before lunch time.
After 2 layers, it tends to cake on the 3rd.

Overall rating: 3/5

Will I buy again? No. Liquid concealers work better for me than cream concealers. It's nice but not enough for me to repurchase.

In the Limelight: Face of Australia Gentle Makeup Remover Product Review

I must have already stated on my older posts that if there is one eye makeup I would choose amongst all the products available, it would be mascara. I love how it instantly opens up the eyes and makes them look more awake. The usual bummer about mascaras, though, is that most of the time, they smudge. So I always opt for waterproof mascaras from Japanese brands but they are notoriously known for being hardcore waterproof. That's why it is also important to have a makeup remover that not only removes hard-to-remove-waterproof mascaras but also gentle enough on the eyes. Last year, I was sent a bottle of the Face of Australia Gentle Makeup Remover by The Updated Trends to try. This review has been long overdue but needless to say, here it is.

What I like:

It is very gentle on the eyes, does not sting at all, as it has tear compatible PH.
It can remove face makeup and not just eye makeup which is a huge plus. I don't have to use a separate face makeup remover as this can certainly remove both. Money and time saver.
It is non-greasy and not oily on the skin.
Gentle enough for the skin and has not cause any allergic reaction so far.
Unscented.
Does not need to squirt a lot of product just to remove makeup.
Locally available at The Updated Trends for Php 425.00/125mL bottle. I'd say it's affordable.

What I don't like:

It says it is oil-free but since it is a two-phase product, half of it looks like oil to me. It may just be me but that's what it seems like.

Overall rating: 4.75/5 I'd gladly change the rating to a 5 if the other half of the product isn't really oil.

Will I buy again? Yes. I think this is the makeup remover I'd purchase as soon as I am out of this and the other makeup remover I am using.

In the Limelight: Becca Cosmetics Creme Blush in Hyacinth Product Review

I have always been a powder blush user and creme blushes aren't really my thing although I have owned a few in the past. None really amazed me but that wasn't until I got my hands on Hyacinth Creme Blush by Becca Cosmetics. It was one of the products I picked up from my Apothica sponsorship. Anyway, I have been using it since January of this year and here is my review on the said product.

What I like:

The shade, Hyacinth, is a gorgeous red-pink shade with just a very tiny hint of coral in it. It does not contain shimmers and gives a natural flush.
The texture is very creamy, glides like butter, and blends like a dream on the skin.
Unscented.
The compact is really nice and sleek and fits small purses given its small size. It is smaller than the compacts of their powders and powder blushes.
Pigmented and a little goes a long way.
Its texture initially made me think that this won't last more than half an hour on me but it proves otherwise as this lasts for about half a day on my combination-oily skin type plus the Manila heat and humidity. So staying power is more than decent for a creme blush.
It has not caused any irritation or allergic reaction on my skin.
Locally available at Adora in Greenbelt though I can't be certain of the price.

What I don't like:

This could be pretty pricey here in Manila. The Beach Tints cost around Php 1850 so I can just imagine how pricier this could probably be. (But given the quality, I'm willing to purchase this here.)

Overall rating: 4.75/5 less .25 for the price.

Will I buy again? I think this is my HG (Holy Grail) creme blush so yes! As I stated above, I am willing to pay the local price and purchase it here.

In the Limelight: L'Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Anti Shine Icy Gel Product Review

Here's a very quick post for today featuring a straight on review of one of the moisturizers I am alternating with my favourite Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel. I have been using it for a couple of months now after leaving it untouched in my drawer and it's about time I give it a review.

L'Oreal Paris describes this as...

A light weight skin-cooling texture which brings an instant ocean splash to your skin, locking in a reserve of hydration and freshness. It controls your skin temperature to prevent perspiration and shine. Enriched with Zinc and Micro Sponge technology, it regulates the sebum and inhibits excessive oil production to bring an immediate mattifying action.

Such a useless picture, I know. My cam's really busted but I felt compelled
to include this picture.

What I like:

I like the refreshing feeling this moisturizer gives my skin.
Texture is very light, non-sticky, and gets easily absorbed by the skin being a water-based or gel moisturizer that it is.
It gives my face a satin finish as I wouldn't consider it matte.
I feel like it hydrates my skin.
I do not get any break outs or allergic reaction from it.
Reasonably priced at Php 495 for a 50ml jar with a shelf life of one year.
Locally available at Watson's, SM, and other drugstores nationwide.

What I don't like:

I find the scent a tad too strong for a skin care/moisturizer though it fades after a few seconds.
Although I feel that it hydrates my skin, I find that it does not hydrate it as good as Neutrogena does.
Not impressed with the oil control or the anti-shine part but still pretty good for a moisturizer.
Cooling sensation doesn't really last that long.
Needs a spatula as it's housed in a jar.

Overall rating: 3.5/5

Will I buy again? I think I'd consider this a nice alternative to Neutrogena Hydroboost for almost half the price but I'd still choose Hydroboost over this one at any time of the day. :)

Makeup Storage 2013

If you're on my contacts or friends list on Facebook, you will see my post regarding an acrylic organizer/drawer I got from Multiply. Anyway, I decided to use an acrylic drawer to store my makeup instead and let "Sparky" the train case rest for a while after 2 long years of use. I thought it might be more convenient to use especially when I am in a hurry and I need to primp myself. So without any flurry, here are pictures of my new makeup storage.

The acrylic organizer/drawer houses most of my makeup.

I like how you can separate the top portion from the rest of the drawers.

I put my foundations, a few samples, lipsticks, concealer, a couple of blushes and tinted lip balms on the top most portion.

What's stored on the two small drawers on the first layer.

On the second layer drawer...

And on the third.

Now the small wooden box with a clear window and a drawer partition is where I store those that I rarely use or no longer fit in the drawers. I got the box and a pack of drawer partition from Japan Home Center for Php 88 each. Then the small acrylic desk holder that I got almost 4 years ago from Saizen holds my makeup removers, setting mist/spray, wand concealer, and compact foundation.

There/ Now I like how more organized it is and I no longer need to bring out my train case and open it every single time I apply my makeup. Now, it just houses the boxes of all my makeup. Yes, I like keeping their boxes and used to store everything inside their boxes. Anyway, I hope you find this organization/storage nice.

Rouge A Levres - Lipstick Swatchfest

Howdy? I noticed that recently, I have only been doing swatches and reviews mostly on blushes so this time, I decided to swatch my very minimal lipstick collection together with a couple more lip products. I will also be including a very brief review and/or description of each product so I can give you an idea on how they work for me. I would like to apologize for the lines on the pictures, my camera, I think, is busted. On to the mini swatch fest.

1. Guerlain Rouge Automatique in Chamade - This is a reddish-pink shade that looks quite similar to MAC Sheen Supreme Ultra Darling on my lips. It's applies very smoothly, glides like butter, and never drying on my lips. It leaves a nice light stain on my lips after a few hours with sips and chews in between. Can be applied sheer or layered for a more opaque and bright colour. Mildly scented. Plus I love the sleek packaging.

2. Guerlain Kiss Kiss Stick Gloss in Corail des Mers - If I want something lighter that will look pretty natural on my lips, this is the one I swipe on 'em. It is glossy on its own and goes on smoothly on the lips. It initially looks a bright coral-pink but it turns to a peachy-pink shade after a while. Has a strong scent that I sometimes cannot tolerate.

3. YSL Rouge Pur Couture in Rose Dahlia - This is the shade I go for when I feel like my skin's dull due to lack of sleep and this immediately brightens up my face. It is a lovely coral-pink shade that is opaque which leaves a pretty stain on the lips. Lasts for a few hours too just like Guerlain Rouge Automatique in Chamade. Has a strong rose scent too that my sense of smell has gotten accustomed to.

4. YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain in Coral Fauve - My latest acquisition. Lately, I have been into tints and stains as they last longer on my skin and lips so I decided I should give this a try. It is a non-sticky gloss with a reddish coral tint that lasts for hours. It leaves a stain behind even with the gloss going kaput. It is a bright coral-pink upon application but it turns red-coral on me. And if I apply a second coat, the color is intensified making it look red on me. It also amazes me how non-drying it is. Now I love it and I want a pink shade - 15 or 13, perhaps. Sadly, the brand has pulled out and is no longer locally available. Why, Rustan's, why?!!!!!!

5. Chanel Rouge Allure in Comedia - As my very first high end lipstick, this has earned a spot in my heart. The very sleek and classy packaging got me at first glance. The shade is a nice rosy pink-peach shade with nice flecks of gold shimmer that is very fine, giving the lips a certain sheen. It also lasts a couple of hours on my and does not dry my lips either.

6. MAC Sheen Supreme in Ultra Darling - Pardon the different lip pose for this swatch. Anyway, this is a reddish-pink shade just like Guerlain Rouge Automatique in Chamade with a glossy and shiny finish. It also does not dry out my lips and lasts for a few hours. Smells like vanilla too.

7. Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti - I don't know how this particular lippy made it to this date as this has already melted and I can no longer apply it without a lip brush. As the name suggests, it is a lip butter which also melts as quick as butters do when it's hot. While I love the shade and its longevity, it dries my lips. Not happy with this product at all.

8. Model's Own Lip Balm in Tangerine - I love this tinted lip balm and has been my go-to lippy for months now. This is a verrry pigmented tinted lip balm that keeps my lips moisturized through out the day. Shade is red-orange that smells fruity and juicy but can be sheered out by applying very little product on the lips. I also love how long lasting it is and has the ability to brighten my face. And quite inexpensive too, just not locally available. Dang!

9. Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate - When I want to wear a tinted lip balm that isn't as bright as Model's Own Lip Balm in Tangerine and more natural looking, this is what I dab on my lips. It is a sheer coral-pink shade that is moisturizing with a scent I like too.

10. Sleek Pout Polish in Powder Pink - I received this product from Updated Trends third quarter of last year. This is a sheer candy/baby pink shade that can make me look pale on its own so I usually use this as a base for other lip products or as a gloss on top of a brighter shade to tone it down. This isn't drying and I like how glossy it is.

No lip swatch:

11. Caudalie Paris Lip Conditioner - I don't think there is a point to swatch this since it doesn't have any tint at all. This lip balm rescues my lips from wind burns and when my lips get very dry. I usually apply this before bed time to hydrate my lips and I wake up to softer smoother lips that are less drier than the night before. It has a strong vanilla scent so I do not use this on a regular basis.

12. DLE Cosmetics Light Up Gloss in Pink Fetisssh - see my review HERE.

13. DLE Cosmetics Light Up Gloss in Jess Barely - This is a very basic lip gloss with fancy light up packaging that allows you to apply it even in the dark. It also has a small mirror on the side so it's pretty great for touch ups. It isn't that sticky which is nice. Shade is a very sheer almost translucent pink with shimmers perfect to be used on top of lipsticks.

So that about sums up my lipsticks and other tinted/lip balms. I hope you find something useful on this post.

In the Limelight: CHANEL Joues Contraste in Narcisse 44 Product Review

"Narcisse" in French is Narcissus (Greek mythology) - the handsome young man who fell in love with his own reflection and was turned to a flower.

Well, I don't think I'd turn to a flower for falling in love with this blush the first time I swatched this and applied this on my cheeks. Tonight I will be reviewing one of my favorite blushes at the moment and has been for a few months now which is Chanel Joues Contraste in 44 Narcisse.

What I like:

The compact, as usual, is sleek and elegant which has been the trademark of Chanel for decades now.
The shade, Narcisse is a very pretty delicate candy pink shade that gives a nice subtle glow and sheen on the skin. I have read reviews about it not showing up on those with medium-dark skin tones but it is enough to show up on me and I am a MAC NC25. I just need to swirl my brush on the pan twice and it picks up enough color for my cheeks. I used to call JCs "kaskas blushes" because I have to swirl the brush a lot of times with my previous one just to pick up color but this shade proves otherwise.
It comes with a nice velvet pouch which keeps the fingerprint-and-dirt-magnet compact from accumulating a lot of dirt.
It has a faint rose scent which, I think, my sense of smell is accustomed to since this isn't my first JC (see Tea Rose review here).
It doesn't mimic the natural color my cheeks have when I blush but this one brightens my face and this started my love affair with pink shades.
It stays on my skin for at least 4 hours which isn't bad considering the skin type I have.
No allergic reactions from it, no break outs either.
Has a shelf life of 18 months (which I honestly think is longer than that period).
4g of products lasts a verrrrrry long time and I mean it. You'll barely make a dent even if you've been using it for months, I dare you.
Locally available at Chanel Counters and Duty Free (where you can get it cheaper).

What I don't like:

The compact, while sleek and classy is such a dirt and fingerprint magnet. I have to wipe it clean every time I use this because a dirty compact isn't a pretty sight.
Expensive for Php 2350 at Rustan's but I guess all the things I like about it makes it worth every single cent.

Overall rating: A whopping 5/5! I can forgive the compact being a dirt and fingerprint magnet because of the shade and how it works for me as a blush.

Will I buy again? No doubt about it! :)

In the Limelight: Vincent Longo Lip & Cheek Gel Stain in Liquid Kiss Product Review

How's Monday, guys? Start of another workweek and perhaps a stressful one but let's welcome it with a smile instead. Anyway, I will do my best to keep this blog updated as often as I can. I don't want to make a blogging schedule as that would make me feel like this is a chore and might add more to the burn out I am experiencing at the moment. So in my attempt to keep this updated, I am reviewing another non-powder blush which is a lip & cheek tint. I am not the type who likes using tints as I never got the hang of applying it on my cheeks and when used on the lips, they just disappear or settle on my lip lines which I'm telling you isn't a pretty sight. Okay, I won't prolong the agony and make reading this entry a pain with my blabbing so here's the review for the Vincent Longo Lip & Cheek Gel Stain in Liquid Kiss which is one of the products I got from Apothica.

What I like:

The packaging is very simple. It's in a slim, black smoked glass tube that doesn't take a lot of space in one's makeup bag.
The shade Liquid Kiss is a nice reddish tint with a hint of brown, almost close to being brick red. It looks natural on the cheeks.
It does not have an awful taste like one of the tints I own with the brand name I'd rather with hold.
Tint lasts for hours. I road tested it and it lasted for at least 5 hours on my cheeks but less on my lips.
Pigmentation is good.
Didn't dry out my lips.
I did not get any allergic reaction from it (I usually experience such within the day).
I think it is fairly priced at $22.30 for 7.5mL of product at Apothica and sadly, Sephora no longer carries this product.

What I don't like:

It looks unnaturally dark on my lips even when applied very sparingly which isn't the tint's fault. My preference.
It settles on the dry patches or spots on my cheeks no matter how much I moisturize that area and blend it as fast as I can.
It oxidizes. I think almost everything oxidizes on me. Bah!
Not locally available.

Overall rating: 4/5 I still gave it a 4 because it is more than decent as a lip & cheek tint. I'm just probably not meant to use tints because I just can't seem to apply it right. This just doesn't work for me. A lot of girls like it though.

Will I buy again? Probably not. I prefer the likes of Benefit Posietint and Becca Beach Tints due to the consistency of the product.

Other: The tube isn't full at all even when it's new so don't be surprised and panic that the product might have leaked the moment you get your hands on this product. Also, when I removed the swatch from my arm, I noticed it left a dark stain that's somewhat close to being black or gray. I wonder why it looked like that.

In the Limelight: Majolica Majorca Creme de Cheek in PK 312 Shell Pink Cream Product Review

How's your Sunday, everyone? Mine's a pretty lazy one as I had to rest the whole day (and yesterday too) due to fever and to somehow make this day productive, I decided to post a review of one of my non-powder blushes and that is the Majolica Majorca Creme de Cheek in PK 312 Shell Pink Cream. So without any further delays or ramblings, here is my review of the said product.

What I like:

The shade PK 312 or Shell Pink Cream is a really pretty medium pink with just a very tiny hint of peach. I do not think it is that close to being shell pink which is a tad more lighter but nevertheless still a pretty shade.
Though it is housed in a nail polish bottle very reminiscent of polishes from the Korean brand Etude House, I think it's still somewhat practical as its size, being small that it is, can easily fit even in small purses. The good thing, though, is that it doesn't leak.
Texture is nice. From kinda watery that dries to a very creamy velvety finish that I find easy to blend.
Does not have any distracting scent at all.
I can truly say that with this blush, a little goes a long way. I only need a dot on my finger and rub it with another then apply on both cheeks. One small dot is enough for both cheeks.
Pigmented and lasts more than 4 hours on my combination-oily skin.
I did not experience any irritation or allergic reaction from this product.
Reasonably priced at Php 495 for 5.4mL of goodness.

What I don't like:

If I don't use this for a couple of days and left it sitting on my train case, I notice that there is a transparent liquid that separates and floats atop the pigment. I have to shake it to make sure that they mix together. Not sure why that happens but at least the shaking doesn't need to be as rigorous as it has to be with Becca Beach Tint.
Oxidizes and turns reddish quite a bit on me after a while.
It sits on dry patches on my cheeks.

Overall rating: 4/5

Will I buy again? I probably would if only it does not oxidize on me.

The Rainbow Bridge - Furball and I

I never thought I'd be updating my blog this New Year's Day. I was planning to do it this coming weekend but a furry little friend of mine made me. Here's our short story...

Almost three weeks ago, I was on my way home from work and was waiting for an FX along P. Tuazon in Quezon City with my co-worker when we heard a tiny meow coming from somewhere near us. I couldn't ignore and looked back and I saw this seemingly newborn kitten already near a manhole, crying and meowing, probably scared because she's alone and her eyes are still closed. She had thick, white fur with two patches of gray on her hear. Such a cute little one. I couldn't leave her there to die so even if I knew it would upset my mom, I still brought her home. I had to help her live, she had to live.

I nursed and fed her, I found an old cosmetics box which I no longer use and made it her "room". She has two small pillows to play with and pink Pooh face towel as gifts to her from my niece. I made sure she was warm and well-fed and even brought her with me to work, much to the dismay of some bosses because I was attending to her when I was supposed to be working (Yeah, my bad, I know).

I felt so much joy when her eyes started to finally open. And every time her tiny paws reach for my finger like she was playing with me, I always tell her that she'll live 15 years and we'll grow old together. I was happy and have grown to love Furball. Oh, I named her Furball, by the way. I once again had a pet and I convinced my mom and aunt that I can keep her even though I have asthma.

Since the 30th, she has been a very sleepy kitten, easily falling asleep and meowing only when I stirred her up, then back to sleep. I still make her drink milk and she'd fall asleep right after. Then last night, just half an hour before midnight and New Year, she refused to drink milk and was very, very weak. She wouldn't move and just lie down, she won't even make a sound. I knew she was sick and had to keep her warm. I made a makeshift bed and blanket out of a small face towel and placed her beside me on my bed. I wake up every now and then to make sure she's alive. I woke up this morning to find her snuggled on my arm and was sleeping there. She seemed fine - she was once again meowing and was moving a lot. Then suddenly, she was weak again. I held her on my hand and realized how weak she really was and wouldn't move. Then she made a silent meow 3-4 times and pee'd and she's gone. I couldn't believe how quick that was.

I can't stop crying because I love that kitten, she has really found a spot in my heart. I don't know what else I could've done to save her and see her being the naughty kitten that she was. She's still in her "room" lying down because somehow, I am still hoping she's only asleep and will spring back to life. I still kiss her forehead and caress her but I know I'll never see those sweet, innocent eyes again. Never. So in an attempt to comfort myself because I have lost this cute little furball that came into my life a few weeks ago, I found a poem. A poem about pets and their carers reunited once again in the distant future. Who knows, maybe I'll see Furball together with all the other cats I had since I was a kid someday. I hope Tinkerbell, Cedie, Malikot, Kuting, Fluffy, Red, White, Black, and the others welcome her on her new home in heaven. :)

What I like:

Initially, I thought this was good for "oily skin" but as it turns out, this is for those with sensitive skin. Turns out to work just fine because lately, my combination-oily skin has been experiencing hypersensitivity these past few months and most products made for oily skin proved to be a little harsh for me. This one is gentle enough and does not strip the moisture off my face.
Paired with Cetaphil, this does not cause any irritation to my skin, leaving it soft and supple after cleansing.
This gently exfoliates my skin and it looks radiant each time.
Does not cause any allergic reaction to my face.
I like that it is natural and biodegradable. See, the word "natural" sometimes make me take a step back before putting it anywhere near my face due to my less than pleasant experiences with such products but this did a fab job.
One sponge is good for 3-4 months use. Mine is 3 months and a half old and is still usable.
Locally available online for only Php 365.

What I don't like:

I made the mistake of squeezing the water out of it just a little too much and the pointed part just literally crumbled on my hand. Now I cannot use that part and that happens to be my fave because the shape is just right for my nose. So please do not make the same mistake that I did. :(

Overall rating: 4.5/5

Will I buy again? Yes though I will try a different one. It'll turn 4 months by mid-November and I am definitely going to try the charcoal one which is for oily skin. I hope it won't be too harsh for my skin though.

Other: When I first opened it, I noticed that the sponge was damp. I don't know what to make of it but it was a bit weird but it does not have any bad smell at all. When dry, it can be really hard that its like a very lightweight stone.

It has been a while since I last owned a NARS blush and I thought it was over for me and Francois NARS *yeah, yeah, dream on*. I developed an immense liking for sheer blushes and that caused my deviation from pigmented ones such as those from this brand. Anyway, it was on my birthday that I received a shade I never imagined would look nice on me which is Gaiety. Its strong blue tones scared me at first but boy this proved the saying "first impressions lasts" so wrong. Anyway, here's my review.

Gaiety is described as a bright candy pink shade on the NARS website.

What I like:

NARS almost nailed it with the shade description that this is a bright candy pink shade. I would personally describe it as a blue-toned bubblegum pink though. It is very pretty. Although it looks kinda scary on the pan because of strong blue tones, it gives a nice flush on the cheeks and somewhat imparts a certain glow on the face.
It isn't the most finely milled blush and it might seem chalky at first but it eventually blends very well on the skin.
It has shimmers/sparkles but not visible on the cheeks which is good. You don't end up having glitter mess on your face.
Unscented, which I have always adored about NARS blushes.
Pigmented and a little goes a long way. Lasts for about 8 hours on my skin type though I am mostly in an air-conditioned area.
Has a shelf life of 24 months or two years and with the intense pigmentation it has, it can last you longer than that.
No allergic reactions, no break outs either.
Locally available at NARS counters in Rustan's.

What I don't like:

The compact has always been a con for me. As compact and sleek it looks, the rubber matte texture of it easily attracts dirt and gets sticky in the long run.
May seem pricey for a mid-range brand but the quality and shelf like makes your Php 1450 worth it.

Overall rating: 4.75/5 Such a gorgeous pink blush that pink blush lovers will love.

Will I buy again? I might. One pan will certainly last a long time.

In the Limelight: Canmake Creme Cheeks Blush in Peach Dream Product Review

Hey, guys! How are you doing? I told you I'm doing my best to regularly blog again so I am posting a review of another blush today. As most of you know by now, I have a certain fondness for Japanese cosmetics. I can't rave enough as to how impressive the quality of their products are even with drugstore brands. I was lemming a creme blush from Canmake, a Japanese drugstore brand, and it took me a while before I finally caved in and purchased and now, here is my review.

The shade I am reviewing is 01 Peach Dream.

What I like:

The shade is a very pretty milky peach-pink shade. It somehow looks blue-based on my arm and cheeks.

Texture is really soft, smooth, and creamy making it spread and blend easily on the skin.

Unscented.

Pigmented enough to show on extremely light to light skin but needs building up for medium-dark skin.

Has not caused any irritation or allergic reaction on my skin.

What I don't like:

It has glitters that seem like they have minds of their own because they go to different parts of my face. Beats me how they manage to do that on their own.
Does not last even for an hour on my combination-oily skin type. Easily rubs off. Poor staying power.
Pretty pricey for a drugstore brand and not locally available so you have to join pre-orders to get your hands on Canmake.
Small and the packaging is flimsy.

Overall rating: 1.5/5 I think this is the lowest rating I have ever given a blush. That is how displeased and unhappy I am with this blush. Others may like it a lot but for a Japanese brand, I guess I expected a bit more from it.

Will I buy again? No, not even other shades. I'd like to try their powder blushes though.

I was supposed to be back to regular blogging but I am doing some adjustments for work and sadly, blogging once again took the backseat. Anyway, I finally decided to review one of the products I have been reaching out for almost every single day since I got hold of it. And it's not even makeup - it's a hair product from Davines which is the OI/Oil Absolute Beautifying Potion. When I was asked if I wanted to try this product, of course I did my research first, if there is one particular ingredient that I could be allergic with and such. Now, my hair is dry and gets frizzy so when I found out the promises this product offers, I agreed without hesitation to try it.After four months of using this, almost always having bad hair days, I think I have used this enough to make a review.

According to Davines, this product is a refined multi-functional oil for universal use which is the perfect combination of treatment and styling in a single product that provides immediate results.

What I like:

The first thing I noticed is the smell. It is kinda strong but not unpleasant. The scent somehow reminds me of coconut and pretty musky, which I am honestly not fond of but this surprisingly does not bother me at all. It leaves a nice scent on my hands that lingers for a while.
This really makes my hair softer, smoother, less frizzy, shiny, and more manageable. And I am not even singing praises just because this was a product sent for review. I am really impressed because I keep touching my hair after application of this potion.
A little goes a long way. I only need a drop which is enough for my mid-length hair. And the strands of my hair are pretty thick too so for one drop to cover my hair, I can say it does go a long way. And I am only halfway through the small 12mL sample size bottle after 4 months.
Has a shelf life of 32 months. That's why I decide I don't have to finish the entire sample and use what's left only on special occasions that my hair needs to be tamed.
Does not make my hair look and feel greasy.
I think it is locally available.

What I don't like:

In as much as I am delighted by its effects on my hair, I don't think it is long term. I remember skipping using it for about a week and my hair went back to its original state prior to use. Could be that it's a styling product and not a treatment potion.
It is pretty pricey for $32.64 at Amazon but if you want to style your hair and see your hair transforming right in front of your eyes, I think the price is worth it considering the shelf life and how it could last you through out that period.

Overall rating: 4.5/5 For a styling product, I have never been this impressed enough to even be willing to shell out that amount in case I run out of the sample.

Will I buy again? Although I did not purchase this, I am considering buying. Now that my work needs me to deal with people more, I think my hair should be more presentable without coarseness and frizz and this does a good job.

Top Picks: Blushes

A warm Monday evening, everyone! It has been a month since I updated this blog and I feel like I am once again feeling it. I somehow rekindled my "relationship" with makeup and rediscovering those products in my stash. However, I think that I still have my spending habits when it comes to makeup under control. I somehow managed to divert my attention to work, books, and bags (again). Anyway, I though it would be nice to share those blushes that I find myself reaching our for very often. So I present to you the Fab 5!

This might remind you of my Les Fards a Joues post that featured the blushes I had at the time of posting but this is quite different. These are my top picks at the moment and it could change any time but so far, these Fab 5 make me a happy camper. I won't be doing a detailed review of each but just a brief description of each shade, how it feels, and how long it usually stays on me.

1. Chanel Joues Contraste in Narcisse - this is such a lovely candy pink shade that looks very feminine and delicate. Feels quite silky but I've seen and touched better. This has a rose scent that no longer bothers me and lasts fairly well on my combination-oily skin type. My favorite out of the bunch right now.

2. Burberry Light Glow Blush in Peony - another pink shade that is dainty and girly. Also has a faint scent that my sense of smell tolerates. It feels very smooth and buttery and feels nice to the touch. Lasting power is also acceptable.

3. NARS Gaiety - now, who would have thought I would be reconnected with NARS blushes? I strongly believed that I was done with the brandbut this one is an exception. I guess I wasn't firm enough with myself being over with NARS. Just like the first two, this is another pink shade that has strong blue undertones. A lot would describe it as bubblegum pink and I'd have to agree. This isn't as pigmented as the previous NARS blushes I have owned but among these 5 picks, this has the best staying power. Not as smooth and silky as Chanel and Burberry but it blends well with the skin.

4. Becca Mineral Blush in Flowerchild - the first three have all been strong pinks and this one is a tad different. This is a peach-pink shade that reminded me of NARS Orgasm and Deep Throat with gold shimmers too. It is also quite smooth and lasts a pretty long time too.

5. Becca Beach Tint in Guava - Becca must be doing something right for me as another current favorite is this Beach Tint. Although the lasting power quite disappointed me, it still remains a favorite because it is a salmon pink shade that is very lovely on the cheeks and blends nicely on the skin too. It also doesn't hurt that I totally dig the scent.

In the Limelight: DLE Cosmetics All Natural Light Up Lip Gloss in Pink Fetissh Product Review + Gloss Giveaway at the end!!!

Imagine yourself having a few cocktails in a bar and suddenly, this guy looks your way, smiles at you, and you weren't totally prepared as he walks to your direction. You wanted to look pretty so you quickly dabbed on some lip gloss on your lips and to his horror (and much more to your horror), it was all over the place with some smeared on your teeth the moment you smile at him. And he disappeared just as quickly as Harry Houdini would. That would be an embarrassing yet a funny sight, wouldn't you agree? That is exactly what you will see on the DLE Cosmetics promotional video. They are a fairly new company in California with the Natural Light Up Lip Gloss as their main product at the moment. They sent me a couple of glosses to try and here is my review.

I received two shades - Pink Fetissh and Jess Barely. And I am reviewing Pink Fetissh.

What I like:

I find the tube simple and sleek. Nothing really fancy but not cheap-looking either.
Pink Fetissh is a pretty pink shade with a hint of peach that has shimmers. The shade somehow reminds me of a Chanel Glossimer that I have previously owned. The shimmers do not end up all over the face which is a good thing.
It can be worn alone or on top of a lipstick to add gloss and shimmer on your lips.
This is not a very sticky gloss. I have a strong dislike for really sticky lip products, hence, the lack of such product on my stash. It feels quite comfortable on my lips.
It has not caused any discomfort on my lips nor on the surrounding skin. No allergic reaction, no stinging.
Fairly inexpensive for $8.95/tube.

What I don't like:

While shimmers are pretty, I find it a tad frosty for me. But it is a personal preference and younger ones might feel more attracted to it. If you have full lips, this may make them look fuller so apply the gloss little by little.
Since they are a start-up company, you only get 3 shades to choose from at the moment - Pink Fetissh, Poison Apple, and Jess Barely.
Not locally available for most countries but they do ship internationally at a fair cost. Just be patient for your parcel to arrive.

In between: The light up gloss idea isn't a first for me. I purchased a lip gloss from a local brand with almost the exact same packaging and "mechanism" for the way it lights up. It also has a small mirror on the side for quick application. I was not really fond of makeup that lights up because it sometimes causes me to have migraine, having that sudden burst of light. But if this doesn't come with it, that defeats the purpose of this product being a light up gloss. Others may like it more than I do. I like the gloss a lot (and so does my mom who digs the light that she decided she'll keep the Jess Barely shade to herself) but I am quite sensitive to light.

Overall rating: 4/5 I did my best to stay objective when giving this gloss a rating. Setting aside my personal preferences and sensitivity, I find this a nice lip gloss especially for those who do not like stiiiiiccckkkkyyyy glosses and want a touch of gloss without feeling uncomfortable.

Will I buy again? If they come up with more pretty shades to choose from, I would. Though I find myself curious about Poison Apple since it seems like a gorgeous red shade. I just might! :)

Remember my lemming post about the Luminaze Catalytic Skin Tone Illuminator Dark Spot Corrector? Well, Santa must've heard my wish and granted my wish early. Last summer, when a cousin came back from the US, I was handed a loot that contains this product which made me squeal with delight. But the sad part is that every photo I took of it that I took was gone. As I was about to transfer pictures to my laptop, I had this glaring error that I had to format my memory card which is such a pain and since I completely used up the product in less than 2 months and threw the empty bottle in the bin, we'd have to settle for a stock photo instead. Anyway, here is my review.

According to Luminaze, this product:

Corrects dark spots.
And we can prove it.

Luminaze actually breaks down melanin for a visible improvement in the appearance of dark spots and overall evenness of skin tone in only 7 days. It's clinically proven to work better and faster than the leading prescription ingredient, and it's gentle enough to use every day.

What I like:

First of all, I have sunspots and freckles and although they did not completely disappear, they lightened, which allows me to somehow conclude that this product works.

Does not feel heavy on the skin and non-greasy, which allows itself to be easily absorbed by the skin.

I was worried that it could dry my skin but I'm glad that it didn't. My skin felt moisturized and nourished.

Even though the spots are still visible under the naked eye, I am pleased that this product has somehow evened my skin tone which is a plus.

No allergic reactions, nothing that annoyed my sense of smell either.

It is in a pump packaging which is hygienic. There are two compartments and pumps - the enzyme and the bio-activator. With one pump, I got the right amount of product for my entire face.

What I don't like:

I easily ran out of it even though I used it sparingly. Each compartment only contains 15mL of product which isn't much.

Not locally available and pricey for $120!

Overall rating: 4.5/5

The product works, if only it weren't THAT expensive. I also have to add that if you are not fond of and allergic to mushrooms, you may want to take a step back before purchasing this item as the Luminaze enzyme in this product is harvested from a mushroom that grows on trees high in the Swiss alps.

Will I buy again? I would like to but the price is kinda prohibitive. And it also hurts that it's not locally available. I would've loved to see how it could further improve my skin by my wallet tells me that I can't afford it. Story of my life.

In the Limelight: Sleek Makeup Blush in Rose Gold Product Review

Sleek Makeup has made its mark on beauty aficionados worldwide for their inexpensive yet good quality makeup. Their eye shadows, blushes, and lip products all scream pigment which isn't the case with other inexpensive products. I was keeping myself from purchasing any of their blushes even though there were hundreds of raves because I knew I didn't need any more cheek colours but when I found a good deal online, I caved in and got Rose Gold. It is one of those blushes that are being compared to NARS Orgasm (again, I wonder why there are a lot of Orgasm-ish shades) and even though I no longer own that said blush, I can clearly remember how it looks. Let's see if it can pass as a dupe for the said blush or if I even like it at all.

Sleek Makeup describes their blushes as....

What I like:

The compact is small and sturdy and does not totally look cheap. It is indeed very sleek.

There is a mirror inside the compact which is very useful for touch ups.

The shade is a gorgeous peach-pink shade with gold flecks.

Very pigmented. On the swatch below, I only dabbed my finger and did not even swipe it across the blush yet I was able to get that much product.

Lasts a few hours which is acceptable.

No allergic reactions, no breakouts either.

Inexpensive for Php 400-450 for 8g of product.

Has a shelf life of 24 months or two years.

Now locally available, thanks to distributors and resellers.

What I don't like:

A very pretty shade, albeit too shimmery for my liking. It is a "shining, shimmering, splendid" blush. If shimmers are your thing, you will definitely love this. I'd choose iridescence over shimmers any time of the day.

Oxidizes on me and looks bronze-y after a couple of hours on me.

Overall rating: 4/5 Aside from oxidizing on me, I can't say this isn't a good blush because it is. The shimmer thing is just a personal preference.

Will I buy again? In case I decide to, I'll probably go for Flamingo which is another pretty shade. :) But I don't see myself purchasing a blush from them soon. :)

In the Limelight: Becca Mineral Blush in Flowerchild Product Review

Time really does fly pretty quick, don't you think so too? It's already the second half of 2012 and the next thing we know, we're welcoming 2013 with a bang! Anyway, how are you doing, guys? I'm hoping everyone is having a great time on this lazy Sunday evening. I've been reading ebooks of the Women's Murder Club by James Patterson the whole day and I must say I am hooked! Now before I stray from the topic, let me get back on track. Tonight, I will be reviewing one of the few pigmented and shimmery blushes I have on my stash and that is the Mineral Blush in Flowerchild from Becca Cosmetics. I am somewhat developing a certain fondness for the underrated brand. Anyway, this is one of the items I got from Apothica when I used my sponsorship fund from them. I was kinda expecting it to be close to NARS Orgasm due to other bloggers and other reviews comparing its likeness to the said blush so let's see if I agree or disagree with them.

Becca describes Mineral Blushes as...

A delicate powder blush infused with micro-fine minerals that deliver a soft glow.

Imparting a soft halo of colour, this delicate powder is formulated with micro-fine minerals that subtly reflect the light and cast a luminous glow.

With the following Key Attributes that makes such nice selling points:

What I like:

Becca describes Flowerchild as "peachy-pink with golden highlights" which they totally nailed. It is such a pretty shade reminiscent of NARS Orgasm but definitely way better than the said blush. Its shimmers are very fine definitely not as pronounced as Orgasm's.

Texture-wise, it's even better. It is very finely milled, smooth, and applies nicely on the skin.

I kinda like how small the UFO compact is but houses 6g of product. It doesn't hurt that it comes with a mirror too. It's easy to fit in small purses too.

It lasts fairly long even on my skin type which is combination-oily, now leaning a bit more towards being oily. Perhaps 4-5 hours at best under the sweltering heat of the sun?

Unscented which is huge for me. Most of the blushes I am loving right now are scented so this is like a breath of fresh air.

Pigmented and a little goes a long way.

Has not caused me to break out unlike their Boudoir Skin Mineral Powder Foundation which definitely made a statement on my skin.

Locally available at Adora in Greenbelt and from a few online resellers too.

What I don't like:

Says it only has a shelf life of 6 months. Becca, you have got to be kidding me?! Seriously? Even creme blushes last longer than that. Even your Beach Tints (which I really adore sans the rigorous shaking before use) last twice as much as 6 months. Thus, I am not buying your 6-month claim. Period.

Kinda expensive at $32/compact. Imagine how it's priced here in Manila, will you? *I'd rather you don't*

Other than these two, nothing more.

Overall rating: 4.5/5

Will I buy again? I am having thoughts because of the shelf life but I know it's most likely just a marketing strategy. But I don't see myself buying this again in the near future only because I can imagine how one compact can last for a couple of years.

What's in My Bag - Updated

I like "What's in My" posts whether it is in a makeup bag and/or a purse. I am always curious to see what other girls bring with them on a regular basis and I also think that it is a refection of at least a part of their personalities. I finally decided to do an updated "What's in my Bag?" post, with the last one being in 2010 so it has been long overdue. Anyway, I will keep this post short and sweet so here goes...

I bring a wallet and a wristlet with me everyday. In the wallet, I store most of my IDs, cards, and cash. I store some cash, keys, and a spare phone in my wristlet which is what I usually bring when I usually go out for lunch.

This pochi silicon pouch is very adorable that I can't stop looking at it. It is definitely a conversational piece because it is simply cute. It is where I store my mobile phones because it is water-proof and both fit inside, and I can also put my earphones in it in case I decide to bring it. I got it from Clipper for Php 199 (a little over $5). :D

I can't help but adore Rilakkuma. It is a very spacious pouch that I decided to use it as a kikay kit or a makeup bag. Inside, I only bring a few pieces with me - 2 blushes, 2 lip balms, 1 lipstick, 1 pressed powder, 2 brushes, and an eyebrow pencil.

I forgot to include my B&BW pocketback in Dancing Waters in the picture. That is my fave scent to date. I no longer carry a book inside my bag because I have 3 dozens of ebooks that I have yet to read on my phone. I also bring that Infant Jesus of Prague crystal piece which a friend gave me for my birthday last year to keep me safe and protected. I also bring a sports bottle with me which I usually let dangle from my wrist so I can keep myself hydrated. The weather in Manila has definitely gone bonkers!!!

So that's everything inside my bag at the moment. The bag looks pretty stiff like it cannot fit everything inside but it surprisingly does because most of the time, I hand-carry either the pochi pouch or the wristlet.

In the Limelight: Make Up For Ever MUFE High Definition Powder Product Review

If you are a frequent liquid foundation user with combination-oily to oily skin, you need to set your liquid foundation to help it last longer. A powder that does that while making your skin almost perfect looking is something that is tempting, if I may say so. The MUFE HD Powder promises to blur out your pores, making your face look as flawless as it can be on camera or videos. I gave in to the temptation when I purchased it and I am now giving it a review.

What I like:

The powder is very finely milled so I can imagine how this fills in the pores making the skin appear poreless and flawless.

Almost translucent and a very light dusting does not change the color of foundation.

A little goes a long way and heed my advice when I say you only need very little of this product applied with a very light hand.

The packaging is simple and straight on with no fancy packaging and all the works that makes a product more expensive.

Talc-free for this who are allergic to talc.

It gives a matte but not flat look but give it a few minutes to set and your skin then becomes glowing but not obnoxiously glowing.

Makes the skin feel silky, smooth and velvety to the touch.

Helps makeup last for hours.

Locally available at MUFE counters.

What I don't like:

Finely milled as it is, it feels chalky on the hand but not on the face.

It makes my skin itch.

Pretty messy as it gets everywhere!

Do not ever apply too much of this as this will definitely add an unnatural ghastly white cast on pictures. People forget that this is for film and not for flash photography, thus, they tend to over apply it especially on the under eye area and bam! They have white patches under their eyes. I won't blame it on the product because incorrect use of it with unpleasant results isn't entirely the product's fault.

Pretty expensive for a setting powder. I got the 5mL travel size of this for Php 850 (roughly $20) on eBay.ph and I am more than certain that it costs more in the store.

Will I buy again? No. Simply because I get allergic reactions to it and I prefer pressed powders.

Overall rating: 4/5. I still gave it a 4 because the product is really nice but as with any product, it just isn't for everyone like how it made my skin itch.

If you are not always in front of the camera, filming videos, you can definitely skip this powder and if you are into flash photography, be very, very careful with this product.

In the Limelight: Laura Mercier Creme Cheek Colour in Innocent Peach - A Product Review

How's your weekend, everyone? I haven't been blogging as frequently as I'd like to and I will no longer make any promises to blog more often but I'll do my best to update this blog every time I can. Anyway, today I am reviewing a creme blush from Laura Mercier that is part of their Lingrerie Collection for Spring 2012 which is Innocent Peach. I am not a huge fan of creme blushes due to my skin type but lately, I am sort of digging them. So without further ado, here is the review.

Laura Mercier describes the Creme Cheek Colours as "A long-lasting, natural cheek colour formulated to provide translucent, buildable coverage for a soft, velvety finish."

What I like:

Innocent Peach is such a luscious mixture of peach, coral, and pink which translates to a salmon shade that has enough warmth in it. It is simply pretty.

Texture is smooth and very creamy that it glides like butter on the skin but dries to a satin finish.

My nose did not detect any scent at all.

Pigmented.

It looks natural on the skin (A common characteristic of most creme blushes. Operative word: most) and blends fairly well with my skin tone.

No allergic reaction, no breakouts either.

The little compact has a mirror which is pretty handy for touch ups.

Inexpensive for Php 995 at local Laura Mercier counters.

Has a shelf life of one year.

What I don't like:

Oxidizes on me after a while which then looks dirty on me.

Lasts for only half an hour to an hour tops which could very well be due to my combination-oily skin.

Contains only 2.34g of product.

Overall rating: 3/5 If only it lasts longer on me and ultimately, if it does not oxidize on me, I definitely would have given this a higher rating.

Will I buy again? Probably not. I'll go for tints such as Becca Beach Tints instead. :)

In the Limelight: Becca Beach Tint in Guava - A Product Review

Hello everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts once again, I have been spending my nights and the past couple of Sundays reading the books I have yet to read. Anyway, over the years, I have read that lip and cheek tints are perfect for summer. They last fairly better for oily-skinned individuals when the summer heat has the ability to melt your makeup as compared powder blushes. That's why I have been alternating between my Becca Beach Tint in Guava and powder blushes. Now, as I type this post, it is raining and it feels awesome but it was freaking hot earlier so I am not so sure if summer is over or if it's here to stay. Same thing as yesterday on our way home from a training in Nueva Viscaya, the rain was crazy and we had to stop and limit our speed to 20kph because the wind was unbelievably strong as well. Luckily, we got home safely this morning. And before I stray from the topic, I'll go ahead and review the product in the limelight tonight.

What I like:

On most times, I easily get overwhelmed by scents. This isn't one of those. When I first unscrewed the cover, I noticed the scent which I am really fond of. It smells fruity and simply nice.

The shade is a very very pretty medium pink with a slight hint of coral. I can't say that the shade is very natural but you know how non-powder blushes look more natural, right?

It is not as watery as other lip & cheek tints and has more of a water-gel consistency. It is easy to spread and does not dry quickly. I do not have a hard time blending this on my cheeks.

Pigmentation is decent. I only need two dots on each cheek to see some color.

The packaging is cute. Nothing too fancy and I actually find the nozzle pretty easy to control as compared to those in pumps. I find it more hygienic than those with doe-foot applicators.

No allergic reactions and no break outs in using this product.

Locally available in Adora, Greenbelt.

What I don't like:

Most people claim that it lasts a very long time on them but it proves otherwise in my case. It is there for only 3-4 hours.

The tube is very tiny and contains only 7mL of product. Since its consistency is like that of a water-gel, it seems less than liquidy products. So you have to use very little unless you want to use it up pretty quickly.

Pretty pricey for $25 and definitely costs more here in the PH. Php 1750, if I am not mistaken. *feel free to correct me though*

Drying on the lips.

Overall rating: 4/5 I still gave it a 4 because I love the color, the scent, and the consistency. Even though it does not last as long on me as it does on others, I still gave it a 4. It might just be me.

Will I buy again? I am contemplating on whether I should get a back up of this shade or go for Watermelon instead.

Tip: Before squeezing out some product, shake it as hard as you can because the oil in it tends to separate from the pigment. Not good if you're in such a hurry. Having to shake it a lot sometimes annoy me so I sometimes put it in the fridge and let it stay for a couple of minutes and when it's out, it's already in gel form. Saves me time and energy. :)
