With a view to try and earn some money from the internet, I'm busy researching and trying a few things:-

Advertisements on web pages and blog

Commission on sale – payment received when a surfer clicks an advertisement on the site and purchases – nothing earned so far
Google Adsense – payment received when a surfer clicks an advertisement on the site, also a minuscule payment per thousand times advertisements are displayed. A little less than €30 earned when Google suddenly disabled the account without giving a reason. This was appealed without success! Probably some jumped-up twerp at the local Google office wanting to impress? From reading the terms and conditions I am unsure as to what, if any, condition I broke. Is Google now becoming for the interent what Microsoft was for PCs and Oracle is for databases?
I am now searching and reviewing other possible means of advertising.

It might also be worth registering at WAZZUB - there are now more than 2 million members. It could well be a scam, but if not, the earnings potential is infinite!

NCRI - Whoever has certified the humanitarian standards and human
rights and international standards for protection of refugees, in
particular freedom of movement in a "voluntary relocation," should
appear before the reporters and residents and answer to them.

Upon the request of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the
National Council of Resistance of Iran, for transitional period of
transferring power to Iranian people, 400 members of the People's
Mojahedin Organization of Iran at Camp Ashraf are going to Camp
Liberty this afternoon.

Contrary to propaganda and hollow statements, the minimum guarantees
have not been provided and nobody has certified the humanitarian and
human rights standards in this camp. In decitful statements for
propaganda purposes it is attempted that technical infrastructure such
as the number of water faucets (with no running water) that a shelter
technican has reported be depicted as meeting humanitarian standards.

The UNHCR has reiterated the need for freedom of movement of the
residents and their rights to enjoy minimum guarantees for safety and
welfare as asylum-seekers and "people of concern".

Inviting journalists should not be solely for political and propaganda
purposes and without access to the residents and not being able to
meeting them and talking to them as it has been in the past.

Whoever has certified the humanitarian standards and human rights and
international standards for protection of refugees, in particular
freedom of movement in a "voluntary relocation," should appear before
the reporters and residents and answer to them.

Without freedom of movement, free access to medical services, ability
to meet lawyers and without the Iraqi armed forces leaving the Camp
Liberty, it will be nothing but a prison under the name of "Liberty."

Internet Advertising

For some people seeing advertising all over internet web pages is irritating! To be fair, some web publishers do go over the top with their use of adverts, sometimes even interfering with page navigation within their own site.

Sometimes though, surfers don't seem to appreciate that web content does cost – if only somebody's efforts to produce something useful! Is it not reasonable that some authors would like (and maybe even deserve) to earn something for all their efforts? Some surfers even use so-called ad-blockers now to prevent ads disrupting their surfing!

There are many ways in which web site publishers can earn through the use of advertising. These include pay per click, pay per view and commission. Earning can vary depending on which scheme and company is used. Various forms of targeted advertising also play a part here.

With the floating of Facebook on the stock exchange, I'm sure things will develop as most of the value of Facebook is for advertising. - the ability for advertisers to target campaigns at people based on profile information! The question then is, will Facebook users allow their information to be used in this way?

Considering all of the above, is internet usage really free?

By now, most people are familiar with Snopes and/or Truth or Fiction for determining whether information received via e-mail is true or false. Both are excellent sites.

Advice from Snopes:-

1) Any time you see an e-mail that says forward this on to '10' of your friends, sign this petition, or you'll get bad luck, good luck, or whatever, it almost always has an e-mail tracker program attached that tracks the cookies and e-mails of those forwarded addresses. The host sender is getting a copy each time it gets forwarded and then is able to get lists of 'active' e-mail addresses to use in SPAM e-mails or sell to other spammers.

2) Almost all e-mails that ask you to add your name and forward on to others are similar to that mass letter years ago that asked people to send business cards to the little kid in Florida who wanted to break the Guinness Book of Records for the most cards. All it was, and all any of this type of e-mail is, is a way to get names and 'cookie' tracking information for telemarketers and spammers - - to validate active e-mail accounts for their own profitable purposes.

You can do your friends and family members a GREAT favour by sending this information to them; you will be providing a service to your friends, and will be rewarded by not getting thousands of spam e-mails in the future.

If you have been sending out (FORWARDING) the above kinds of e-mail, now you know why you get so much SPAM!

Do yourself a favor and STOP adding your name(s) to those types of listings, regardless of how inviting they might sound.

You may think you are supporting a great cause, but you are NOT. Instead, you will be getting tons of junk mail later. Plus, we are helping the spammers get rich. Let's not make it easy for them.

Professional Football

Isn't ridiculous how much some professional football players “earn”, mega wage packets win or lose, with some of the prima-donnas getting far more in a year than the average working person can achieve in a lifetime? It's no wonder that a lot of football clubs are on the verge of bankruptcy, and that a lot of people can't even afford to go and watch a game.

Okay, sponsorship is one thing, but the current pay structure in the top clubs can't be sustainable with a lot of footballers just sucking the sport dry.

Maybe one option is to have a prize (a pot, such as for boxing) on all professional games with the winner taking all, excepting of course a much smaller amount of appearance money for the losing side?

Also, the state of refereeing appears questionable – inconsistency, incompetence etc. Isn't it time to ensure the professionalism of match officials by giving training were required, and also checking their quality? Why can't football introduce television refereeing and other electronic checking such as is used in tennis, rugby and cricket, at least in the higher professional game?

Crony Capitalism?

I'd always naively thought that it was the shareholders who ultimately ran a company by voting to appoint directors etc.! So, I was surprised to hear that this wasn't the case.

Seemingly these “top” people just appoint each other without any reference to the shareholders, usually giving each other ludicrous contracts – ridiculously high salaries, pensions and bonuses! “You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours” fits here!

When a company isn't profitable, how can anyone justify paying any employee a bonus?

Coincidentally though, these practises seem to be much more common in the financial “industry” banks, insurance companies etc.

As far as I can see, the only people really deserving these sorts of remunerations would be:-

People setting up companies from scratch
Executives taking a failing company back to profitability
Inventors
Artists – stage, music etc whose earnings are related to performance
Sports people who win

Perhaps there are some company executives who think that they deserve to be paid in the ludicrous fashion in which some “professional” footballers are paid!

Another point to consider is who comes up with these ridiculous contracts for example that of ex-Sir Fred "The Shred" Goodwin? Is it just incompetence or even corruption? Maybe these contract writers and signatories could be sued by the company shareholder?

Internet Dating

As internet and online dating seems to be on the up, I thought I'd list my experiences, which might be of help. I was lucky but there are a lot of pitfalls!

Some years ago I decided to go on holiday to the far east as I'd never been there before and had heard that it was so beautiful. As I was going to go on the trip alone, I thought I'd have a look at an internet dating site to see if I could make one or two friends before I went, as I planned to go to the Philippines and also to Thailand.

I signed up with date.com (free option) and just had a look round. I was soon contacted by a nice Philippine girl who eventually invited me to Cagayan d'Oro to visit. With this, I decided to book my trip. While I was booking my flights there was a bit of hullabaloo! I asked what was going on and was told world war 3 had broken out – it was 9^th September 2001! I still booked my flights though – a week in the Philippines, followed by a week in Thailand!

I decided to go back to the dating site to see who I could meet up with whilst in Thailand. I eventually made contact with 2 women who I arranged to meet, one in Bangkok, one on Koh Samui. Before I left on my trip, I was in regular contact with the girl in Bangkok, and our relationship blossomed!

So, I left on my trip, flying first to Manilla with an overnight stop in Taipei and then on to Cagayan d'Oro. When I arrived I was met by my friend, she'd booked me into a hotel for my stay. I had a great week, my friend showed the things to see, but we never clicked romantically, even though I still consider her to be a friend!

I then flew back to Bangkok (I'd traveled through on my way to the Philippines) and was met at the airport by my friend and her brother. She'd booked us into a luxury apartment in the centre of Bangkok, showed me the things to see, and love blossomed!

On my return I started with arranging a visa so my now girlfriend could come and visit me in Europe. After a couple of months she came over and we decided we would get married.

A couple of months later, once the immigration papers had been arranged, we flew to Thailand where we were married!

We've now been married 10 years and have 2 beautiful daughters!

We've been lucky, but there are many pitfalls for people looking for a serious relationship on the internet!

A friend of my wife was drugged, raped and filmed by an American man in Bangkok.

There are a lot of people on social and dating sites pretending to be somebody else, often using photos of someone else to make themselves appear attractive or to hide their real identity or race. Some even pretend to have a different nationality or be resident in another country!

HCC Waarschuwing

Voor alle leden van de HCC (Hollands Computer Club), het blijkt moelijk om een lidmaatschap op te zeggen - het kan alleen maanden ban te voren terwijl, dacht ik dat de wet veranderd was met betrekking to automatisch verlengin van contracten!
Ik had een email factuur gekregen van de HCC, ik had het beantword met een verzoek to het stopzetten van mijn lidmaatschap wegens mijn werksituatie. Ik had een antwoord gekregen dat ik 2 maanden van te voren moeten opzeggen!
Nu krijg ik een vorderin van de rot incasoburo Intrum Justitie - Justitie, laat me niet lachen. Hun administratie kosten zijn 37 Euro - voor wat? In deze tijden blijken de meeste incasoburos als graaiers te zijn. Misschien zit dit in het Nederlands cultuur?
Volgens mij is de HCC een stichting en zoals met de meeste stichtings in Nederland zit er bovenop een dikbetaald directeur!

Amstelgrad

Amsterdam is now Amstelgrad for me!
This is mainly due to the ex-mayor of Amsterdam, Job Cohen, but also to the behaviour of some members of the council building department. They seem to be nothing more than a bunch of Marxists sometimes - behaviour one might expect in North Korea!
For me, it was a choice between Amstelgrad and Stalindam!
The Dutch government now seem to be behaving in a similar dictatorial fashion! Democracy is long gone in NL!

Amsterdam is nu Amstelgrad voor mij!
Dur komt meestal van de oud burgermeester, Job Cohen, maar ook van het gedrag van sommige mensen van Gemeente Amsterdam, leden van Stadsdeelcentrum Bouw en Wonen! Het zit er uit als een Marxistisch stad in Noord Korea soms!
En nu doet de Nederlands regering een beetje hetzelfde - democratie is heel lang weg in Nederland!

Learning Dutch?

As the Dutch language is Germanic with some words and the sentence structure similar to modern German. It is easier than German as Dutch grammar is much simpler, though a lot of people are scared off with the “gutteral” pronunciation!

As a native English speaker, I came to the Netherlands in 1995 after having lived in Germany for 2 ½ years. I didn't take the language too seriously at the start as I didn't know if I would remain, but after a few months I started to learn the basics - numbers, telling the time etc. Eventually I enrolled in a basic Dutch course (2 evenings per week for 6 months) at the local buurtcentrum (neighbourhood centre).

As a result of my speaking the basic Dutch I'd learned, I eventually got a job with a small Dutch company, who enrolled me in the 1 week “total immersion” course at Berlitz in Amsterdam. A few months after this, and with the help of some coaching I managed to pass the Dutch NT2 at the second attempt (Nederlands als tweede taal – Dutch as a second language)! I managed to build up my Dutch vocabulary by writing a couple of programs, English-Dutch, consisting of a vocabulary list and a program to test my knowledge. This was of great help, enabling me to pass the exams!

I've since added a lot more words and also added more languages. See JAGeZe for more information.

One thing to bear in mind for English speakers living in the Randstad, is that most Dutch people speak (some) English so it is difficult for the Dutch learner to practice. My solution was to play ignorant and pretend I didn't speak/understand much English!

Remember the days when a politician, left, right, or centre, was in politics for the good of the people, whether you agreed with his/her views or not?
It seems that nowadays, the vast majority of people who go into politics, go into it as a career, ultimately to fill their own pockets!
Whatever happened to those people who served their time using their skills in their chosen industry before moving into the political arena to use the skills they'd learned for the benefit of the people?

Merchant of Venice

After living in the Netherlands for almost 17 years and seeing the actions of the current government and taxation authorities (Belastingdienst), I am now of the opinion that if William Shakespeare was to rewrite his comedy "The Merchant of Venice" today, he would have to give it the title "The Merchant of Amsterdam"!
The Belastindienst appears to be trying to get blood out of a stone with one set of people whilst allowing large scale tax avoiders and frauders to continue unchecked!

Security against Muslim Extremists and Terrorists

Especially with what happened at the British Embassy in Tehran and in view of the upcoming Olympics in London in 2012, wouldn't it be an idea to take a leaf out of Israel's book with regard to protection against Muslim extremists and terrorists?
Whilst not being anti-Muslim, perhaps the security authorities in the West should use the Muslim fear/dread of pigs to their advantage! In buses, trains and aeroplanes etc, placing a pig bladder full of pig blood to fight against suicide bombers! Also herds of pigs could be left to roam in the grounds of western embassies in sensitive arab countries.
Obviously though, care would need to be taken so as not to offend the local population (if this were at all possible)!

NL Building Land Fraud - Groza BV, HappyTelesales, Happy4Us, Inesterra

I was approached by a Marc van Bakel a few years ago from a company, HappyTelesales about the investment opportunities in building on current farmland. He told me that HappyTelesales was starting several projects to build on farmland - houses, industrial units etc., and that HappyTelesales would arrange all the necessary permits and permissions. A company, Investerra (Hans Noomen) would manage the projects.

Van Bakel didn't tell me that they had stolen my details from a company called Terra Vitalis!

I bought a piece of land in Lippenhuizen for €12,500, but a lot I later heard from the local authorities that no-one had ever applied for any permits to do anything with the land I had bought

Later, van Bakel contacted me about a "project" in Niedorp costing more than €70,000. HappyTelesales would arrange the finances through the liquidation of a number of my investment policies and pensions - according to van Bakel, they were experts in this sort of thing, and this was confirmed in person by one of their representatives, a Richard Cats - thus no financing, no deal!. Through their incompetence/carelessness, or was it done deliberately, the financing was unsuccessful! Their legal documents even referred to a non-existent plot of land! Other names of interest are Thomas Vroon, Paul Reinders, Willem Woerdeman and Sjors Aronius.
The fraudsters have now taken me to court demanding a percentage of the more than €70,000 as compensation – seemingly "Justice" is supporting the fraud? Perahps a loophole somewhere in the law?

I get the same story from both the authorities in Niedorp and Lippenhuizen - no applications to build, and probably there wouldn't ever be a permit given!

Coincidentally or NOT , the owner of the "companies" Groza BV, HappyTelesales and Happy4Us is Gert-Jan Boot and/or Franciscus Petra Maria Boot – HappyTelesales went bankrupt in 2009!
Seemingly also participating in the fraud are M.A.Poort (notary), M. de Winkel (jurist) and I. van Bakkum (lawyer)!

Complaints have been filed regarding fraud, together with reports to the AFM.
It also seems that "Justice" supports these criminals - a sign of corruption in the courts?

Are there others who've been ripped-off by these fraudsters?

Is this the Dutch way of doing business - saying one thing but setting something totally different on paper, or is it a worldwide phenomena?
What has happened to "my word is my bond"?

Economic Collapse in Greece

Even on a stiflingly hot summer's day, the Athens underground is a pleasure. It is air-conditioned, with plasma screens to entertain passengers relaxing in cool, cavernous departure halls - and the trains even run on time.
There is another bonus for users of this state-of-the-art rapid transport system: it is, in effect, free for the five million people of the Greek capital.
With no barriers to prevent free entry or exit to this impressive tube network, the good citizens of Athens are instead asked to 'validate' their tickets at honesty machines before boarding. Few bother.
This is not surprising: fiddling on a Herculean scale — from the owner of the smallest shop to the most powerful figures in business and politics — has become as much a part of Greek life as ouzo and olives.
Indeed, as well as not paying for their metro tickets, the people of Greece barely paid a penny of the underground’s £1.5 billion cost — a ‘sweetener’ from Brussels (and, therefore, the European taxpayer) to help the country put on an impressive 2004 Olympics free of the city’s notorious traffic jams.
The transport perks are not confined to the customers. Incredibly, the average salary on Greece ’s railways is £60,000, which includes cleaners and track workers - treble the earnings of the average private sector employee here.
The over ground rail network is as big a racket as the EU-funded underground. While its annual income is only £80?million from ticket sales, the wage bill is more than £500m a year — prompting one Greek politician to famously remark that it would be cheaper to put all the commuters into private taxis.
‘We have a railroad company which is bankrupt beyond comprehension,’ says Stefans Manos, a former Greek finance minister. ‘And yet, there isn’t a single private company in Greece with that kind of average pay.’
Significantly, since entering Europe as part of an ill-fated dream by politicians of creating a European super-state, the wage bill of the Greek public sector has doubled in a decade. At the same time, perks and fiddles reminiscent of Britain in the union-controlled 1970s have flourished.
Ridiculously, Greek pastry chefs, radio announcers, hairdressers and masseurs in steam baths are among more than 600 professions allowed to retire at 50 (with a state pension of 95 per cent of their last working year’s earnings) — on account of the ‘arduous and perilous’ nature of their work.
This week, it was reported that every family in Britain could face a £14,000 bill to pay for Greece ’s self-inflicted financial crisis. Such fears were denied yesterday after Brussels voted a massive new £100bn rescue package which, it insisted, would not need a contribution from Britain .
Even if this is true — and many British MPs have their doubts — we will still have to stump up £1billion to the bailout through the International Monetary Fund.
In return for this loan, European leaders want the Greeks’ free-spending ways to end immediately if the country is to be prevented from ‘infecting’ the world’s financial system. Naturally, the Greek people are not happy about this.
In Constitution Square this week, opposite the parliament, I witnessed thousands gathering to campaign against government cuts designed to save the country from bankruptcy.
After running battles with riot police, who used tear gas to disperse protesters, thousands are still camped out in the square ahead of a vote by Greek politicians next week on whether to accept Europe-imposed austerity measures.
Yet these protesters should direct their anger closer to home — to those Greeks who have for many years done their damndest to deny their country the dues they owe it.
Take a short trip on the metro to the city’s cooler northern suburbs, and you will find an enclave of staggering opulence.
Here, in the suburb of Kifissia, amid clean, tree-lined streets full of designer boutiques and car showrooms selling luxury marques such as Porsche and Ferrari, live some of the richest men and women in the world.
With its streets paved with marble, and dotted with charming parks and cafes, this suburb is home to shipping tycoons such as Spiros Latsis, a billionaire and friend of Prince Charles, as well as countless other wealthy industrialists and politicians.
One of the reasons they are so rich is that rather than paying millions in tax to the Greek state, as they rightfully should, many of these residents are living entirely tax-free.
Along street after street of opulent mansions and villas, surrounded by high walls and with their own pools, most of the millionaires living here are, officially, virtually paupers.
How so? Simple: they are allowed to state their own earnings for tax purposes, figures which are rarely challenged. And rich Greeks take full advantage.
Astonishingly, only 5,000 people in a country of 12 million admit to earning more than £90,000 a year — a salary that would not be enough to buy a garden shed in Kifissia.
Yet studies have shown that more than 60,000 Greek homes each have investments worth more than £1m, let alone unknown quantities in overseas banks, prompting one economist to describe Greece as a ‘poor country full of rich people’.
Manipulating a corrupt tax system, many of the residents simply say that they earn below the basic tax threshold of around £10,000 a year, even though they own boats, second homes on Greek islands and properties overseas.
And, should the taxman rumble this common ruse, it can be dealt with using a ‘fakelaki’ — an envelope stuffed with cash. There is even a semi-official rate for bribes: passing a false tax return requires a payment of up to 10,000 euros (the average Greek family is reckoned to pay out £2,000 a year in fakelaki.)
Even more incredibly, Greek shipping magnates — the king of kings among the wealthy of Kifissia — are automatically exempt from tax, supposedly on account of the great benefits they bring the country.
Yet the shipyards are empty; once employing 15,000, they now have less than 500 to service the once-mighty Greek shipping lines which, like the rest of the country, are in terminal decline.
With Greek President George Papandreou calling for a crackdown on these tax dodgers — who are believed to cost the economy as much as £40bn a year — he is now resorting to bizarre means to identify the cheats. After issuing warnings last year, government officials say he is set to deploy helicopter snoopers, along with scrutiny of Google Earth satellite pictures, to show who has a swimming pool in the northern suburbs — an indicator, officials say, of the owner’s wealth.
Officially, just over 300 Kifissia residents admitted to having a pool. The true figure is believed to be 20,000. There is even a boom in sales of tarpaulins to cover pools and make them invisible to the aerial tax inspectors.
‘The most popular and effective measure used by owners is to camouflage their pool with a khaki military mesh to make it look like natural undergrowth,’ says Vasilis Logothetis, director of a major swimming pool construction company. ‘That way, neither helicopters nor Google Earth can spot them.’
But faced with the threat of a crackdown, money is now pouring out of the country into overseas tax havens such as Liechtenstein , the Bahamas and Cyprus .
‘Other popular alternatives include setting up offshore companies in Cyprus or the British Virgin Islands , or the purchase of real estate abroad,’ says one doctor, who declares an income of less than £90,000 yet earns five times that amount.
There has also been a boom in London property purchases by Athens-based Greeks in an attempt to hide their true worth from their domestic tax authorities.
‘These anti-tax evasion measures by the government force us to resort to even more detailed tax evasion ploys,’ admits Petros Iliopoulos, a civil engineer.
Hotlines have been set up offering rewards for people who inform on tax dodgers. Last month, to show the government is serious, it named and shamed 68 high-earning doctors found guilty of tax evasion.
‘We will spare no effort to collect what is due to the state,’ said Evangelos Venizelos, the new Greek finance minister of the socialist ruling party. ‘We promise to draft and apply a new and honest tax system, one that has been needed for decades, so that taxes are duly paid by those who should pay.’
Yet, already, it is too late. Greece is effectively bust — relying on EU cash from richer northern European countries, but this has been the case ever since the country finally joined the euro in 2001.
Two years earlier, the country was barred from entering because it did not meet the financial criteria.
No matter: the Greeks simply cooked the books. Two years later, having falsely claimed to have met standards relating to manufacturing and industrial production and low inflation, the Greeks were allowed in.
Funds poured into the country from across Europe and the Greeks started spending like there was no tomorrow.
Money flowed into all areas of public life. As a result, for example, the Greek school system is now an over-staffed shambles, employing four times more teachers per pupil than Finland , the country with the highest-rated education system in Europe . ‘But we still have to pay for tutors for our two children,’ says Helena, an Athens mother. ‘The teachers are hopeless — they seem to spend their time off sick.’
Although Brussels has now agreed to provide the next stage of its debt payment programme to safeguard the country’s immediate economic future, the Greek media still carries ominous warnings that the military may be forced to step in should the country’s foray into Europe end in ignominy, bankruptcy and rising violence.
For now, the crisis has simply been delayed. With European taxpayers facing the prospect of saving Greece from bankruptcy for the second year in a row, some say even the £100bn on offer will pay off only the interest on the country’s debts — meaning it will be broke again within two years.
Meanwhile, there are doom-laden warnings that the collapse of the Greek economy could be the catalyst for another global recession.
Perhaps if the Greeks themselves had shown more willingness to tighten their belts and pay taxes due to the state, voters across Europe might not now be feeling such anger towards them.
But having strolled the streets of Kifissia, and watched the Greek hordes stream past the honesty boxes on the underground, it does not take a degree in European economics to know when somebody is taking advantage — at our expense.
As in other countries, why can't the Greek taxation authorities at least recover the taxation which should have been paid? Certainly in the UK, and the Netherlands, monies can be recovered which should have been paid years earlier!
The whole shambles is unfortunate for the Greek people who have paid their taxes! Just as always happens, honest hard-working people are penalized through no fault of their own!

Petitiion to UNAMI with regard to Camp Ashraf

Protection of Camp Ashraf

We warn about massacre of 3,400 Iranian dissidents in Camp Ashraf (home of Iranian dissidents for over 25 years) in Iraq. Up to this point, Iraqi especial millitary forces under the command of Iraqi PM Nouri al-Maliki have killed 47 of these defenceless and unarmed refugees and injured about 1000 of others in two deadly assaults at the behest of the Iranian regime.

It is almost three years that this camp is under an inhumane siege which also deprives patients and wounded from access to medical treatment resulting in a number of them losing their lives. It is now close to two years that Ashraf residents are being psychologically tortured day and night by 300 loudspeakers and months ago.

While the UNHCR has declared Ashraf residents "asylum-seekers" who must enjoy international protection, Maliki and the Iraqi government has threatend to evacuate Camp Ashraf and forcibly transfer its residents to other locations in Iraq. Relocating residents of Ashraf inside Iraq, is a Crime against Humanity and is a prelude to a grand massacre that has been devised by the Iranian theocratic fascist rulers and the government of Iraq. Overwhelming evidence demonstrates that the Iranian regime and its elements in Iraq intend to bar the progress of UN projects, especially those of the UNHCR, by all possible means and thereby obstruct a peaceful resolution to justify another deadly millitary attack against defenceless, unarmed residents of Ashraf.

In such conditions, the initiative of EU High Representative, Baroness Ashton, to appoint Ambassador Jean Du Ruyt as the EU’s special representative for Ashraf is a very worthwhile and effective measure which has our strong support. We demand his prompt visit to Ashraf to make his efforts more operative in peacefully resolving this crisis.

We also request:

- The US, EU and UN to impel Iraq to categorically remove any forcible relocation of Ashraf residents inside Iraq from the agenda;

- The US, EU and UN to impel Iraq to remove the illegal and suppressive deadline of the clouser of Ashraf by the end of 2011, until the end of the UNHCR’s work and the transfer of all Ashraf residents to third countries;

- The UN Secretary General and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to station a permanent monitoring team in Ashraf and the protection of Ashraf residents with UN blue helmet forces, until the transfer of the last person to a third country should be facilitated and guaranteed by the UN Security Council.

- The US, EU and UN to impel Iraq to bring an end to the inhumane siege and psychological torture of the residents by means of 300 loudspeakers and to allow the residents to have free access to their lawyers and medical services.
