Keeping up with David Hill at our Mt. Falcon photo session was a feat in of itself. David is the founder of Dogs Run Chicago and Dogs Run Denver. Owner David Hill, who has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, Wall St. Journal, 190 North, Comcast Sportsnet (video), Runner’s World  and NBC Chicago is an ultrarunner with over 10,000 miles (video) of professional dog running experience.

He is new to the Denver scene and we are happy to welcome him to Denver! David has finished 17 ultra marathons since 2007. He typically runs 80-90 miles per week (amazing!) His business is to take dogs on 4-7 mile runs (depending on ability) to help them burn energy, drain anxiety and lead an overall happier life (we like him already!) Thank you David for a beautiful morning and welcome to Denver!

We ventured to the Windy City to train three uber-fabulous pet photographers to join our team. I feel blessed in my ways and thank my lucky stars every night for this group of wonderful ladies that make every photography session special and unique for our two and four-legged clients. Buttercup

Kodiak

Kodiak is an eight year old neutered male Cocker Spaniel that was dropped off at the shelter because his owners “didn’t want him anymore”.  He is a sweet dog who gets along with other dogs. He can be a little bossy at times, but isn’t a classic alpha. He gets along with people, although he does seem to be more comfortable around women. He is pretty good with house training, although he has had a couple of accidents, so he will need some reinforcement in his house training skills.

Little Guy

My name is Little Guy.  My real name is Kalalau, but Little Guy was so much easier for my foster mom!  I’m a lively little 12 year old.  I recently lost my family when they had to move and were unable to take me.  Since I am a senior I have a few health issues but they are all managed with low cost medication.  I have low thyroid and a mild heart condition, neither of which slow me down.   I also don’t hear very well, but my sense of smell is amazing!  I live at 8,000 ft and am as active as the younger dogs in my foster home.  I am good with dogs of all sizes and am not interested in cats.  I am a great little companion who would love to be someone’s lap warmer.  I ride well in the car and am good on a leash.  I also know sit and down and can use a doggie door.

Oreo

Oreo and Buttercup are five year old litter mates that came to RMCR from New Mexico.  Oreo is black and white (of course!) and is the male and Buttercup is brown and tan and is the female.  Both are altered, microchipped and up to date on their vaccinations.

Oreo and Buttercup are strongly bonded and, therefore, we want to place them as a pair.  They are absolute sweethearts that are well house trained and get along well with other dogs and with cats.  Their favorite pastime is to pile on top of each other on their foster mama’s couch and love to be the first one to be petted!  They know their names and come when called, dance and sit for treats and are very well behaved.  They know basic commands such as sit, come, no, wait and are working on stay.  Their foster mama hasn’t crated them and they’ve been allowed to roam free in her home without incident.  They chew nothing but their own toys and eat together quite peaceably.  They don’t bark except for the obvious things like that trash guy they think is trying to steal their stuff or the interloper squirrel!
