If you've not heard of Jake & Blake, this is your chance to gen up.

Loosely based on The Prince and the Pauper it tells the tale of twins who were separated at birth.

Blake is a pop-star who is rich, obnoxious and self obsessed, yet Jake couldn't be more different. He's academic (which, of course, means he's bespectacled) and sporty. Due to a chance meeting the pair bump into each other and, when they realise their remarkable likeness, they decide to swap lives.

The first series saw the pair get up to all sort of capers, but lurking in the background is the twins' evil uncle who doesn't realise the boys are still alive and well, and will lose the family fortune if the truth ever comes out.

This show ticks all the right boxes for its tweenage audience – it's Disney so therefore there'll be plenty of singing and dancing, the boys have to tackel at least one moral dilemma a week, and they're not bad-looking either.

A série Jake & Blake estreou em abril de 2010 no Brasil e conquistou o público teen. O seriado criado e produzido por Cris Morena, que trabalha na televisão há mais de 20 anos e é responsável pela telenovela Chiquititas, conta a história de dois irmãos gêmeos que, apesar da aparência idêntica, possuem personalidades totalmente diferentes.

Jake e Blake foram separados no nascimento e se reencontraram muitos anos depois. Ao descobrirem que são irmãos, decidem trocar de papéis. Jake é um aluno aplicado, enquanto Blake é um pop star. Jake é muito responsável, generoso e afetivo. Já Blake é milionário, egocêntrico e vaidoso. Já viu no que isso vai dar, né?

Em breve, a segunda temporada da produção vai ao ar no Disney Channel. Em entrevista para o R7, o protagonista argentino Benjamin Rojas (foto), de 25 anos e conhecido por atuar na novela Quase Anjos, revelou que adora interpretar os dois personagens e que gosta de Jake e Blake “do mesmo jeito”.

- Não tem um em especial; os dois têm coisas minhas. Jake é mais tranquilo e a minha vida privada é tranquila. Já Blake é mais elétrico, com a sua vida de artista, e por isso também somos parecidos.

O ator argentino ainda disse que se preparou durante seis meses para encarar os papéis.

- A série é gravada em inglês, então fui a Nova York estudar a língua por um mês. Depois, voltamos a Buenos Aires, me encontrei com o elenco e começamos a treinar e ensaiar as cenas. Assim, fui me envolvendo com os personagens e conhecendo melhor Jake e Blake. Tudo isso começou em julho de 2007.

Com novos personagens e aventuras, a segunda temporada promete resolver vários mistérios. Jake e Blake buscarão informações sobre seus pais e sobre seu passado. Além do mais, os irmãos começam a curtir suas novas vidas, o que torna mais difícil voltar a ser o que eram originalmente. Segundo Rojas, a segunda e última temporada “vai ter um final espetacular”.

Rojas ainda conta que está promovendo o disco de Jake & Blake e que ele até canta em português em duas faixas do disco - Já era Então e Vamos para o Céu.

- O CD tem duas canções em português que, especialmente, fiz para os fãs brasileiros. Me custou muito, porque eu não falo português (risos).

Mesmo gravando o disco e interpretando um cantor na série, Rojas afirma que, por enquanto, não pretende investir na carreira de cantor.

- Ainda não pensei em gravar um disco solo. Por enquanto, não. Mas gosto de ficar em contato com a música e de tocar violão. Quem sabe mais adiante?

Simpático, Rojas, que costuma conversar com os fãs brasileiros pelo Twitter, veio para o Brasil no ano passado, para promover a primeira temporada de Jake & Blake, e termina a entrevista dizendo que foi “muito bem recebido pelas garotas”.

- Diga a elas que tenho saudades e que mando um beijo!

Two twin brothers who were separated at birth, and have now found each other again. Although they look the same, their personalities couldn’t be more different! NG Kids met Benjamín for a chat...

NG Kids Hi Benjamín! We love your show! What are you interested in outside of acting? 

Benjamín I really care about the environment. Right after learning how to ski, I learned to love the mountains, the forest and it has made me realise the importance of protecting the environment.  

NGK What things do you do to help the environment? 

Benjamín When I am in a city I try to use cars less. I also try to save water by not leaving the tap running. Small gestures like not throwing rubbish on the ground makes a big difference – every little thing helps!

NGK It certainly does! So do you recycle things? 

Benjamín I try to recycle, like I try to reuse bags instead of throwing them away, but we all still need to be learn how we can help the environment by recycling even more. If everyone does something to help, things will change for the better!

NGK What’s your advice for NG Kids readers who want to do their bit to protect the environment?

Benjamín Try to be responsible and take charge of the things we use; nobody should have to clean up after us!

Ayer, en la Costanera Sur, comenzó la ronda del Pepsi Music y fueron muchas las celebrities que no se quisieron perder la primera fiesta con Rage Against the Machine.
Entre otros, estuvieron con look muy canchero Benjamín Rojas y Nicolás Pauls. También participaron Zeta Bosio y su reciente mujer, Estefanía Iracet, Benja Amadeo, Eduardo de la Puente y Jazmín de Gracia, entre otros.
Se sabe que hay gran expectativa por los Green Day y por el 23, cuando cantará Andrés Calamaro.

The gig: President of Disney Channels Worldwide. Lightcap, who grew up in Buenos Aires and spent much of her television career in Latin America, oversees 94 channels that are available in 169 countries and 33 languages.

Tuning in: Growing up in Argentina, Lightcap's favorite show was "Charlie's Angels." She and her friends would play detective, with her portraying Sabrina, the brainy character played by actress Kate Jackson. "In Latin America, you would watch all these shows dubbed — and the dubs are typically made in Mexico for the whole region," she said. "So the funny part is when we played 'Charlie's Angels,' we spoke in Mexican Spanish." (That would be like American kids imitating a British accent).

Textbook romance: Lightcap initially pursued a career in journalism. At age 20 she was hired as a sub-editor on the international desk at Reuters, where she translated stories into Spanish. During a three-month hiatus to study in New York City, she met the man who became her husband. He was sitting behind her in a political science class and offered her a mint — and the rest, she said, is history. "It was one of those 'You make plans, and God laughs' " moments, she said.

Media 101: Lightcap joined News Corp. in 1993 to help launch the Fox Latin American Channel. It was a three-month-long adrenaline rush, in which she worked 18-hour days. "It was crazy," she said. "But the great part was I really got to learn about the channel business from the bottom up." Lightcap climbed the ranks at News Corp., from coordinator to executive director.

The Wonderful World of Disney: The experience with Fox Latin American prepared Lightcap to head Disney's Latin American expansion. "I kept getting calls from headhunters and telling them, 'No, I don't want this. Call me when you get the Disney Channel job,' " Lightcap recalled with a laugh. The call came. She joined the company in 2000 and extended Disney's reach throughout Mexico and Central and South America, adding channels in 19 countries. "It was so obvious that it would do so well in the region because the Disney brand is very deeply ingrained."

Usted habla español?: Lightcap worked to give the Disney Channel programs a local feel. Disney used voice-over talent in each country because of the differences in how, say, Spanish is spoken in Mexico and Colombia. Lightcap went one step further with "High School Musical," launching a reality show, "El Desafio," to audition hopefuls for the casts for three Latin American versions of the feature film. "We found the Disney Channel audience as the most loyal and followed these kids all the way," Lightcap said. "Some of them, after the movie premiered, became hosts of Disney Channel."

Locally abroad: Lightcap is encouraging production outside of the United States. "We're trying to keep everybody informed, so if a show from one country can travel to even two or three countries, it's an even bigger win for us," she said. Take "Jake & Blake," a half-hour live-action show that originated in Argentina. It's a story of twin brothers who were separated at birth: one becomes a pop star, the other a teacher. Naturally, they switch roles. The show is now airing in Europe too.

Bedtime stories: The 24-hour preschool channel premieres in 2012, taking the place of the 10-year-old SoapNet. "What we found in research is most of the channels have their preschool programming in the morning, but that most of the preschool viewing actually takes place between 5 and 9 p.m.," Lightcap said. "If you think about it, it's all common sense. When moms need to get the older kids ready for school for the next day, to get dinner ready, the household organized … you want to be able to sit your kid in front of the TV set and have them watch it."

Focus group of one: As the mother of a 3-year-old girl, Lightcap has a special appreciation for preschool programming. "I feel like I know this segment well, because this is what I'm watching the most right now," she said. "And what I suffer when I can't watch."
