Its a good job vinyl is his only addiction. Still only 22, James Zabiela was introduced to the world of acid house through his father who worked in a local record shop and would come home laden with armfuls of early house and techno. The year? 1992. A time of innovation, invention and an endless stream of Guerilla releases. James was hooked instantly. Like father like son? The phrase could've been coined for Zabiela's career. " I was only 12 years old but I can still hear the thumping through my bedroom floor!" smiles James, who for now has purposefully avoided the lure of London by remaining in Southampton. My Dad would come home with armfuls of acid house tracks at the weekends, he recalls. It wasn't until I was 15 years of age, when I was to work in the same record shop, that tracks such as Joey Beltram's 'Energy Flash' & 'LFO' made sense to me. As soon as they did I was hooked. It wasn't long until he was offered a job at the shop as a vinyl buyer.

Sankeys Club opened its doors in June 1994 to humble beginnings in Beehive Mill on Jersey Street, a Victorian Mill responsible for kicking off the industrial revolution. The brainchild of Andy Spiro and Rupert Campell, who quite freely admit that it, was a crazy idea. However, they cite their naivety as the driving force behind the project taking shape. Lets face it, they were trying to open a club / live music venue in the heart of the most rundown area in Manchester. There were no random punters wandering past stumbling in on the off chance... Sankeys was well off the beaten track.
After nearly going bankrupt just 6 months after opening, things started to take shape, Bugged Out ! was born, and became the regular Friday. Golden was every Saturday. One particular weekend stood as the real turning point. Carl Cox came and spent the weekend at Sankeys Soap... The club was sold out the whole weekend, and the big man rocked the joint. Everyone started talking.
During this first golden period at the club it not only saw debut performances from the likes of Daft Punk and The Chemical Brothers, but also live shows from luminaries such as Bjork, Gill Scott Heron, Jurassic 5 and Moby. It seems that Sankeys Soap had struck gold - during the week Sankeys Soap became all about showcasing awesome talent, and with the weekend providing the ultimate hedonists party. Things were looking good.
However dance musics much publicised problems was steadily creeping out of control and clubs felt it through dwindling numbers. In 1998 Sankeys Soap closed and customers and authorities alike assumed that it was the way it was going to stay... Between 1998 and 2000 several people tried to re-open Sankeys Soap, but to no avail. The Manchester authorities saw no sense in opening a relic of the 'old Manchester' that they had worked so hard to finally stamp out.
However, in 2000, David Vincent came along with his business partner to try and re-kindle the Sankeys magic. David had masterminded huge events in the UK including events at the MEN, London Arena and promoted previously at World renowned clubs like the Hacienda, Pacha (Ibiza) and Ministry of Sound (London) and of course Sankeys Soap. Their proposal was granted and in September 2000 they re-opened Sankeys Soap with the slogan - 'Don't worry we've found the keys'

For over 10 years The Liquidroom has been entertaining music fans in and around Scotland by hosting gigs and events 7 days a week , 365 days a year. We are proud to have worked with artists from every music genre ; from Hip Hop to Rock, Country to Pop and we have seen Dj's from around the globe grace our stage for some phenomenal club nights. We pride ourselves on being a venue that is open to all which is available to hire, as well as in-house promotion being key to our events calendar. After being closed for refurbishment for almost 2 years, we are happy to be back bigger and better than ever. Technically we have installed a bespoke and state of the art sound and lighting system yet unseen in any venue of our size in the UK. About Governors Island/
For almost two centuries, Governors Island was a military base, home to the US Army and Coast Guard. It was closed in 1996 due to changing operational needs. But New York political leaders recognized the historic venue's potential, and in 2003 the federal government sold most of the Island to the people of New York for one dollar.
The 172-acre Island is about 22 city-blocks long from tip to tip. The northern 92 acres of the Island are the Governors Island Historic District, and are open to the public for picnics, tours, concerts, car-free biking, and more. The 2.2 mile Promenade and Picnic Point are also open to the public.

Getting Governors Island/
Getting to Governors Island is just a quick, 5-minute boat ride away. The event will be accessible via New York Water Taxi. The Water Taxi's will leave every hour from Pier 11. The first ferry will leave at 5:30pm and every 15 minutes thereafter. Additional pickup locations may be added. The closest subway stationsare: 1 at South Ferry, W at South Ferry, and 5 at Bowling Green. It is also a short walk from the Wall Street Area. Various city bus lines also service the Battery Park Area with stops near the ferry terminal. Taxis and car may pull directly in front of the terminal for drop offs only. There is no parking at the terminal itself, however there are ample lots in the area. See below for further details...

These stalwarts of the scene are joined by We Love weekly resident Jem Haynes to take control of the Discoteca for a rare and prestigious vinyl-only session in celebration of the label.

Meanwhile, the world famous Space Terraza plays host to James Zabiela showcasing his house sound for 2011. The Hot Chip DJs, Felix Martin and Al Doyle return for the first of their three date exclusive residency and Radio 1 current "In New DJs We Trust" favourite Heidi bringing the jackin' sound' o' Chi' Town with support from Made To Play's Jesse Rose. Kicking off proceedings is We Love's own Mat Playford playing a three hour live show using a customised analogue setup.

2011 brings new faces to share this summer's series of events. Jaymo & Andy George's label Moda host the Sunset Terrace before Mr Doris' "Afterdark" project takes over after midnight. Ryan O'Gorman returns with The Burlington Project to host twelve intimate dates in the Redbox, the room for clued up locals and holiday-makers alike.

We Love... goes deeper than Sundays and Space in Ibiza. It is an international family encompassing connections that go back to Darren Hughes' days at Cream in the early 90s, and spread as far as the annual We Love... Sounds festivals in Australia to events in Brazil, the UK and further afield.

The Festival hosted many international djs, just thinking about some of them such Anthony Rother, Antipop Consortium, Extrawelt, Ellen Allien, Ivan Smagghe, Ed Rush, Resonant Evil, Far too Loud, Acid Junkies, Motor, The Drama Society, Vitalic, Dexter. 
The scenery is the perfect one created by the two open air arenas of the Forteprenestino; always been the privileged place for each kind of musical's expressions, that can be performed in an amazing surroundings nature. 

The 5th edition of Electrode, Independent Electronic Music Festival, born thanks to the powerful joint venture of different music's projects working in the roman scene such as MissAnthroPeak, Sonic Visioner, Truckstop76th, 00 Nowhere, Urban Pressure. From the very beginning the main purpose of the festival has been to put together the most interesting kinds of Electronic music (electro, techno, d'n'b, techouse, break beat and more) in an amazing and unique open air dance hall. In the 2 days of the event we will see switching on the stage some of the most appealing roman and international djs.
