Jamie will be juding the Music category at this years Academy Excellence Awards. For all the details head to the Academy Excellence Awards website.

The Academy Excellence Awards are a prestigious student awards scheme that recognise outstanding achievements by Y11, 12 & 13 students studying at Academies in England.

All shortlisted students and their academies to attend an Inspiration Day and Awards Dinner at the University of Nottingham on 4 July 2012.

A fab new blog post from Jamie today that tells us he is heading into the studio any day now. And even better news is that Jamie is going to try and keep us all up to date on it.

SIFT SORT AND MOULD

I’ve been mostly at home writing and demoing whilst watching my daughter start to function like a real upright person. I should be hitting the studio to record these tunes for real any day now which means new music for your ears is just around the corner. I’ll try and document this next part a little more frequently for you this time. The fog of the blank page is clearing – now comes the playtime!

“Standing Still” written by Jamie, Steve Robson, Wayne Hector to represent Germany at Eurovision 2012

Earlier in the week I reported that “Standing Still” written by Jamie was in the the running to be THE song to represent Germany at The Eurovision Song Contest. And now I can confirm this great song has been chosen, and Roman Lob is the man who will be singing it.

I think it’s a great little song and wish Germany all the best at Eurovision on the 26th May.

Last night BBC 4 aired Sonny Rollins ’74: Rescued! in which Jamie introduced the first section. And I have to say I am mighty proud of Jamie as he was brilliant.

Check out this great song being sung by Roman Lob. Roman is one of the finalists for this years entry from Germany for Eurovision 2012. Lets hope this becomes their entry.

Jamie will be joining BBC Radio 4 on the 16th March at 6.30pm for the 70th anniversary show as part of the “More than words” listening festival for Bristol.
