I got to visit with a good friend and roommate from college this week and was thrilled to get to meet her almost 5 year old twins for the first time! Sarah told me that Ava wasn’t generally very “smiley” for portraits, but having heard that from other parents before, I was convinced that I would be able to work some magic with her. Now I must admit, sweet little Miss Ava was playing some serious hardball. I could not even get her to crack the smallest grin! After a little talk with mom, we got one or two out of her, but she was quite the contrast to her brother! They we both so sweet and I can’t wait to photograph them again sometime soon!

Such a handsome little man! Mom had to wipe away the tears from his cold sweet cheeks a few times, but we were able to get some cute smiles in bewteen. We had about 20 minutes before the sun went down so I think we did pretty well with our time! Such a fun age!

Branson 9 months

Oh the many challenges we faced for this 9 month session! Our first session was cancelled due to the first bout of snow that came through middle TN, so we were excited to get things rescheduled for this past weekend. Shery had picked out this location that she was thrilled about and…what do you know…they happened to be filming a movie at the exact time and place and we couldn’t get past security! Bummer. We tried a few outdoor shots but sweet little Branson had to be so cold. He was such a good sport! We finally opted for Opryland hotel and we were able to get the smiles we were looking for! I’m sure it helped that daddy was in the pictures too!

Ohhh this little one is sooo sweet! She’s already passed the 6 month mark and gets more adorable every time I see her! This of course is my darling niece. The fam all got together for the holiday weekend in January and I was thrilled to get her in front of my camera again. Luckily the sun came out just in time for some pics. Isn’t the blanket a perfect match?

Ok, seriously…I’m pretty sure this is what Lenny Kravitz looked like as a toddler. Ya think? This kid cracks me up! He was so serious! But boy does he have a handsome little serious face! I love loading the images onto my computer after a shoot where I’m not sure if I got much, only to find a few rubies in the mix.
