About the event

Q. What is a Jamika Double Speed Dating event?

A. Jamika Double Speed Dating is termed “Double” as you get to meet double the members of the other sex in the same amount of time compared to traditional one-on-one speed dating. It minimises the daunting experience of a one-on-one date. You will have a double speed date buddy by your side during each double date.
Jamika Double Speed Dating replicates a more natural way to meet and socialise with new people. As everyone is in a more comfortable environment, your true self is more likely to shine through, increasing the chance of enjoying yourself and the company of your dates.

Q. When and where are the Double Speed Dating events held?

A. We understand that our guests would have busy schedules on the weekend, so Jamika events are mostly scheduled for weeknights at popular venues around Melbourne CBD. Details about up and coming Jamika Events will be posted on our website and linked to our facebook group.

Q. What happens if half way through I don’t enjoy myself?

A. Jamika Events’ hosts endeavour to ensure a fun night for everyone. However, should any guest become uncomfortable during the event, please bring it to the host’s attention and the host will privately go over options with the guest. And the decision that the guest makes shall be respected. Should the guest decide to leave, please be aware that we will be unable to refund your admission, as we have organised catering and event coordination on your behalf.

Q. What time do the events begin and end?

A. Most of our Double Speed Dating events begins at 7:00 pm, with the dates starting at 7:30 pm and running approximately to 9:45 pm. During the night there will be a 15 minute break for more canapés and drinks. Jamika Events do reserve the rights to vary the schedule and night proceedings if we see fit.

Q. What's the dress code?

A. Jamika Events promote an atmosphere of Style and Fun. Remember, dress to impress as you are going on a series of double speed dates.

About the people

Q. What kind of people will I meet?

A. Our guests tend to be single professionals. Double Speed Dating is a relatively new concept, so our guests are believers of “All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better”.

Q. Will I meet new people at each Double Speed Dating event?

A. While we can't guarantee that all participants will be new to you, we will try our best to not include you in a Double Speed Dating event where there are more than two people whom you have previously met.

Q. Are there always equal numbers of men and women at these events?

A. Jamika Events try our best to ensure that there would be an equal number of men and women at each of our events. We ensure that we have the required number of people confirmed and we send out several email and SMS reminders. We also ask people to let us know if they can no longer make it as we can usually fill a space, even at the last minute. Nevertheless, life is full of surprises outside of our control, so at times there will be unequal numbers, despite our best efforts.

Q. Can I attend with a friend?

A. Yes. You can attend an event with up to 3 friends. To attend and buy tickets for a Double Speed Date, simply follow the step-by-step instructions on our website in the BUY TICKET NOW section.

Q. Can I attend without a friend?

A. Yes. You can attend any event by yourself. To attend and buy tickets for a Double Speed Date, simply follow the step-by-step instructions. Jamika Events will try our best to pair you with a double speed buddy of the same gender and similar age group.

Q. Can I come with a friend of the opposite sex as my date buddy?

A. Yes. However, as the Double Speed Dating format requires the males in the 4 person group to move on to each assigned table, one of you (the male) will have to follow the format and move on to each table.

Q. What if I need to cancel?

A. Similar to any event ticketing, we do not offer refund or exchange on any ticket purchase except as required by law and as otherwise specified by the seller. Please visit our Terms and Conditions page for further detail.

Q. Why should I sign up for email notifications?
A. We will be promoting Jamika Events throughout the year. By signing up to email notification, either through our Facebook Group or Registration Form or becoming a Member of our Website, you will be able get priority notification (and possibly discounts) to upcoming events.
About the ticket purchase

Q. Is this site secure?

A. Absolutely! We use PayPal as our secure payment service provider. They also use VeriSign Identify Protection so that your personal and credit information are safe with us. In addition, transmission of your credit card details over the Internet uses 128 bit encryption techniques. This is same technique that banks use.

Q. How do I pay for my admission to a Jamika event?

A. There are a number of ways you can pay for admission. We take secure Visa and Mastercard payments through Paypal. Alternatively, you can contact Jamika Events to organise alternative payment options.

Q. Do I need to pay upfront?

A. As the ticketing process is automated, you will be required to purchase your ticket/s prior to the event. Once payment as gone through, you will get an email confirmation and a registration form for the event. This is done so that we are confident that it will be a great night out for all.

Q. What if I don’t have a credit card?

A. Not a problem. Please contact Jamika Events on jamika.events@gmail.com to arrange secure bank transfer.

Q. How soon after buying the ticket will I be sent my invitation?

A. Upon confirmed ticket purchase, you will get an email confirmation of invitation to our event and a registration form for the event.

About ‘what happens after the event’

Q. How soon after the event will I receive my matches?

A. Matches are emailed to participants within 48 hours. Usually they will be sent before midday the day after the event, however if there is some following up needed it can take a little longer.

Q. How will my matches contact me?

A. We'll provide your matches with the email address or phone number you gave us for matches when you registered. You can select how you would like to be contacted.

Q. Who calls whom?

A. We encourage both parties to call or email each other, based on our guests’ nominated preferred method of contact. Remember, you already know the other person is interested in you!

By using the Jamika Events online Site, you are agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions. If you choose not to be bound by the terms and conditions, Jamika Events does not grant you the right to use the Site and you must not use this Site.

Variation

Jamika Events may vary these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any variations become effective on posting. By making a purchase through this Site after the terms and conditions have been varied, you agree to be bound by the variation.

General Terms and Conditions

The following conditions are both of sale (including any resale or subsequent assignment) and conditions of attendance at all Jamika Events functions:

No refund or exchange on any ticket except as required by law and as otherwise specified by the seller.
The right is reserved to add, withdraw, reschedule or substitute events and / or vary advertised programs, prices, venues, seating arrangements and audience capacity. If we are unable to fill an event, we may reschedule the event, and the paid admissions will be notified by email / SMS regarding the reschedule and details of the rescheduled event. If this new date is not convenient, you will be offered the opportunity to wait for the next suitable event / refund. Please note that should you require a refund, you must notify Jamika Events through email no later than 48 hours after the notification of event rescheduling. However, we will endeavour to ensure that all events proceed as planned.
The right is reserved to charge a fee for the replacement of tickets.
The right of admission is reserved and is subject to Jamika Events’ and the venue's terms of admission, copies of which are available from Jamika Events on request. Late arrival may result in non-admittance. Individual who has not conducted themselves in a proper manner or who we have received complaints about during an event may be refused admission / asked to leave the event.
The right to be the final arbiter in any dispute as to whether an admission is valid.
Cameras, audio and video recorders may not be permitted. The right is reserved to broadcast or telecast any event.
The right to take photographs for publicity purposes. These images may appear in our printed publications, member newsletters and on our website. By attending a Jamika Events function, you are providing Jamika Events with the permission to use your image(s) taken at events in publicity material (newsletter, web page, direct mail etc). Names will not be used.
It may be a condition of entry to individual events that a search of person and / or their possessions will be required at the time of the entry to the venue / event.
Jamika Events holds no responsibility for the outcome of any relationship that may or may not arise between you and another person that you might meet through a Jamika Events function.
Jamika Events take no responsibility for the activities neither of participants, nor of participants at consequential meetings. You agree not to initiate any claim against Jamika Events resulting from either social or dating activities and agree to hold Fast Impressions free from any liability.
Entry may be refused if tickets are damaged or defaced in any way or are not purchased from Jamika Events or other authorised points of sale.
Tickets may not, without the prior written consent of Jamika Events, be resold or offered for resale at a premium (including via on-line auction sites) or used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes (including competitions and trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services, either by the original purchaser or any subsequent bearer. If a ticket is sold or used in breach of this condition, the ticket may be cancelled without a refund and the bearer of the ticket may be refused admission.
Scalping warning: The resale of tickets in certain circumstances is governed by ticket sales legislation and may attract criminal penalties.
Additional terms applicable to sales through this Site: If applicable, you must allow adequate time for collection or delivery of tickets. Methods of collection and/or delivery will be available when choosing your collection/delivery details.
GST will apply to all goods and services supplied through this Site. Prices in this Site include GST where applicable.
Where concessions are applicable, suitable and valid identification must be provided for collection of tickets and at the venue.
