Where's Jane

2012-04-10T21:36:00.000-07:00

I don't have enough time to maintain this blog any more, but I still make things. Visit http://JaneLeBlanc.etsy.com for artwork that I sell.

I've opened a shop called The Black Sheep where I sell felting supplies, my artwork, and some antiques and vintage stuff. The store is located in Center Barnstead, NH. Visit the store online at http://ShopTheBlackSheep.etsy.com and my antiques/vintage at http://ReFineryNH.etsy.com

Also, because I make things from recycled stuff so often, I started a blog called The Black Sheep Blogger

Stowe, Vermont

2010-04-09T06:37:00.001-07:00

I'm in Stowe, Vermont this weekend. It's raining, but that's ok, there's a bunch of us ladies sitting around quilting, sewing, and bitching. It's a Stitch 'n Bitch weekend getaway after all. But I'm here on a buying trip. There is a really good antique shop up here that I always get really good buys on assemblage supplies, ephemera and stuff.

New Hampshire Weather

2010-03-02T05:42:00.000-08:00

I had no electricity or water for three days. No internet! Luckily we had heat from our propane stoves. And I could charge my phone in my car. This photo is of Derry, NH. It didn't seem this bad in Deering, but it must have been, a lot of us had no electricity.

New Collage

2010-02-02T15:05:00.000-08:00

I haven't left the studio all day. I've started a new collage and thought I'd post my progress.

Yellow Blinking Light

2010-01-24T10:24:00.000-08:00

Well, my computer is dead. Dead, dead!

I tried to turn it on and only get a blinking yellow light on the "on" button. Everything is in that computer (I'm on my laptop now). But I saved everything in that computer. Okay, a lot of it was backed up, but a lot of it was not.

AND, my old camera works with that computer. My laptop does not. I have an Etsy store and need my old camera to take pictures of my stuff for sale. My new camera is sucky and I can't get good pictures.

poor, poor me......

Some of my new assemblages and collages:

Collages from 2007

2009-09-26T05:32:00.000-07:00

These collages where made from bits of paper from old books. The faces are made by cutting up images and pasting them down, layer after layer, until they look like faces.

Here is a little collage I did as a study. Hope you like it.

Back in the Swing

2009-04-06T01:31:00.000-07:00

After a very difficult 2008, I think I'm finally back on track. I've added some new art things to my etsy.com store janelanglois.etsy.com and started a new store so I can "destash" some of my collections, refinerynh.etsy.com.

I love robots.....

2008-03-19T13:08:00.000-07:00

I saw some of Gordon Bennett's robots while I was visiting my nephew in Brooklyn. I fell in love with them, here is his website. http://www.bennettrobotworks.com/

I want one.....

2007-09-03T06:02:00.000-07:00

I think she's done. I was going to add a white wash to her dress but I like the way it is now. What do you think? The black stripe on top of the canvas is just the edge of the canvas and not part of the painting.

Work in progress . . .

2007-08-12T14:38:00.000-07:00

As if I don't have enough on my plate, here is a new painting/collage I'm working on for an upcoming show. The model is a vintage boudoir doll. This painting needs to get done by the end of September. The painting is 60" tall, that's 5 feet ... what was I thinking???

I thought I'd add her to my blog and ask all of you for your opinion, advice, thoughts....

I drew her in green oil paint on a green background. Then I pasted torn pieces of pattern tissue to form her dress.

8/19/07: I've added some dark areas to the figure, painted the background red and toned down her dress with a red glaze. (photo coming soon)

I'll be adding more pictures as I progress.

Now I've gone and committed myself to finishing this....

The Bug Series of Assemblage Art

2007-07-30T04:11:00.000-07:00

Here are a couple bugs in a series of assemblage bugs I've been working on. The top guy is a Mosquito or at least it's my version of a mosquito, and the bottom guy is a Lightening bug, or some call it a Firefly. They're both around 6" to 8" tall. I retain the copyright and can use the image whenever I want too! And I can make more just like him if I want to too. But you can enjoy the real thing, if you buy him of course.Click on my Etsy store, see the side panel, or click on one of the bugs.
