Waiting For My CNA License

Last week I mailed my CNA license application. I am hoping and praying that it wont take too long for it to be issued by the Arizona Board of Nursing. As what I've know, it may take 1-2 months for the processing but still hoping that I will have it sooner. I can't wait for my license number because it is needed when applying for a job. So, I can't work until I will get my license and I can't wait to work honestly. It will be my first time working here in the US so I am pretty excited.

There are times when we are looking for things everywhere and we just can't find it right away and we are so in a hurry we break things. I hate it when it happens to me but I can't avoid it sometimes. The other day I was looking for something in my desk drawer while in a hurry when suddenly I thought the drawer slide broke. I found what I was looking but then I had to fix the drawer first. Good thing it wasn't really broke, I just pulled it too fast and inappropriately.

I have good news! I passed the CNA state license test. I took the written and skills test last April 21st. I wasn't so happy right after I took the test because I wasn't sure if I pass or not. The written test was so confusing and I was afraid that I didn't get the pulse rate right on one of the four skills because I started counting the second hand of my watch instead of the beating coz I got nervous. I knew that I messed up the pulse rate and I wasn't sure how long did I count my watch but I decided to just add 8 to my counting. I thought that maybe it was within 8 beats and also because 8 is a lucky number for Chinese. Well, guess what? I had it right.

I knew that it will take 4-5 days before the result will be posted online but I have been checking on the first day and luckily on the third day, the results were posted. I cried when I saw the words passed. I really didn't expect that I will pass the test. I wasn't even 50% sure. I told my husband and my friends already that I am not sure if I pass the test and I don't want to expect too much. I would just take the test again if ever I failed. Thanks God! He answered my prayer. I am so happy that I passed both the written and skills test. I don't need to study again. Tomorrow, I will be mailing my license application. Hopefully it won't take too long for the AZ state board of nursing to process it. It is very important for me to start looking for a job.

Either you can put them on the side or somewhere organize. I like the idea of stackable chairs because they are easy to be removed and then whenever it is needed, easy to get them and put into place.

CNA Certification

I am happy coz I finally got my CNA certificate from our school. I went to school yesterday to get it but the CEO didn't sign it yet so I had to go back today. So I got it now. Yesterday, the school secretary helped me register for the state board test instead while I was there. I got lucky because it supposed to be at least 8 days before the test to register but they accepted my registration since they have 3 more spots available. One of my FIlipina classmate got lucky too. I don't if the other one was able to register today. I called both of them about the test registration yesterday because we really want to take the test the same date. So nways, good luck to all of us on Saturday. I am pretty excited but a little nervous.

The downfall of the economy has had our family struggling to recover from this relentless recession. My husband and I are no different from thousands of others and we have begun extremely proactive to find ways to save without a huge sacrifice in the quality of our lifestyle. My Younger Sister Is Getting Engaged

I am so happy and excited for my little sister. Her and her boyfriend are getting engaged next month. I just talked to her a few minutes ago and I asked her if she's ready to get married soon and she answered yes. My husband and I talked to her boyfriend once via skype and he seems nice. We had a group conversation once with my sister because he wanted to talk to me. He told me that he's going to marry my sister. That he's gonna take care of her and love her and treat her like a princess. I then told him that I will remember what he said. He knows that I am the only one in our family who won't be there during their engagement and their wedding too within this year that's why. I'm very happy for both of them. I just want to wish them all the best. Hopefully, they will be able to visit us here in Arizona soon as what they've told us. It's just so hard for me to go back to Philippines this time with a two year old little girl.

Tanning

One thing I know is that I hate sunburn and I don't like the way it looks. Aside from being painful is it doesn't look balance throughout the body. Sometimes I get it all over my face and sometimes all over my back and it turns really red. It doesn't look pretty at all. When I see women gets tanned though, it looks good to me. I like it because you can really see the real beauty of a woman when she's tan. One time I thought of spray tanning and I am just imagining myself with it. I can't tell if it will look nice on me but I want to try it. One of these days I might try it for real.

Silver Bullion Bars

I have not seen a real gold and silver bars and I really wish to see one. I saw on tv but not in person so it is not the same at all. So many people all over the world loves to invest in golden eagle silver bullion bars and some of them are collectors. It must be wonderful to own these types of precious thing. Have you guys seen these things that I am talking about? Probably, one way that I can see the bars would be to go to a museum. I would really love to at least see.

So finally, my CNA clinical is done. Last Wednesday night I went to the nursing home to finish my last 4hours and minutes clinical. Which I missed during our last day because my daughter had a diarrhea. Thankfully, I was just about to leave that early morning going to the nursing home and so I decided to take care of her. Nways, I was expecting to get my CNA certification last Friday but it wasn't ready yet because the attendance sheet was not forwarded to the school yet from our instructor. Hopefully, tomorrow when I'll call the school first thing in the morning, my certification will be ready for me to pick up. It is very important for me to get it because I can't register for the state board test without it.

Going To A Birthday Party

This morning when I was at the nursing home I got a text message from one of our friends that we are invited for a birthday party of our friend. Some of our friends are there already but I am still here at home but I will leave soon. I am pretty excited because we don't hang out that much anymore. Stroller

I've been thinking of buying a new stroller for my daughter because sometimes it is hard for me to handle her when we go somewhere like to the mall. She runs around and then I can't concentrate what I am doing. She doesn't use her stroller that much anymore lately though, just barely use it I should say. I am thinking that her stroller is not that big enough for her anymore. She got another one stroller when she was a baby but I don't like it much. I try to look around for strollers at Peppyparents.com and I think I know what to buy whenever I am ready. There are times that I don't need a stroller like when I go grocery shopping because my daughter can just sit at the cart but there are times that stroller is necessary.

It was our last day at the nursing home for this week today. We go there from Monday thru Friday only. Next week we will be just until Thursday because it is holiday on Friday. Anyway, during our 15 minutes break we just all talk at the room where we stay and put our stuffs while we're doing our clinical. I've heard from one of my classmates about vlc player and so I google it when I got home. I learned that VLC is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player and framework that plays most multimedia files as well as DVD, Audio CD, VCD, and various streaming protocols.

Today was the last day of our laboratory class. We finished all the skills and we are all ready to go to the nursing home on Monday. While some of our classmates are doing the skills because we take turns, we took pictures with some of our classmates. We will take more pictures during clinicals for sure.

Clinicals Starting Monday

Tomorrow will be our last day in school but not the program yet. We finished the fourth week out of six weeks. Everybody in our class our pretty excited because on Monday we will be starting our clinicals. I can't believe how fast the time flies. Can you? I've been having hard time a little bit when it comes to waking up early but I'm doing real good in school. In the morning when my phone alarms for me to wake up, I still want to sleep more but I have no choice but to get up, clean the house and get ready for school and prepare Mackenzie for the daycare. It is not easy for me and I have to get use to it because as soon as I will pass the state test and get my license, I will apply for a job right away. Since I start going to school, I wake up at 5:00am coz my class starts at 9:00am til 1:15pm. It's funny because at 11:00am I always start to get sleepy but the only time I can sleep is at night when Mackenzie is asleep too. I normally pick her up at the daycare between 1:30 and 3:00pm coz sometimes I have to wait till she wakes up from nap. I try to sleep as soon as we get home but it's hard because Mackenzie keeps on waking me up.

RELOCATING TO TN

My husband and I have recently relocated to Murfreesboro, TN. We moved from Montgomery, Alabama. He has taken a job teaching at Middle Tennessee State University. It was a great career move for him, so I was excited to move, but hated to leave the house that we have lived in for the last five years that I absolutely LOVED. Luckily though, we found a pretty good house in town, close to the school and we are currently doing a lot of updates. So far, almost everything that we had planned is completed. We are partially moved in. There are only a couple of things left to do: we are having the counter tops replaced in the kitchen, they are still working on the master bathroom, and I have got to look into wireless internet providers murfreesboro so that we can have a reliable internet connection at the house. Other than that, I think that we will be able to be fully moved in this weekend. I am just really ready to settle and start loving our new home as much as I loved the old home.

Final Test Is Over

At last our final test is over. We had our final test this morning and we all felt relieved after seeing our scores. I don't know if we all passed the test but me and two other Filipina classmates passed. Tomorrow until Friday we will focus on our skills and then our clinical at the nursing home in the next two weeks. We are all excited for the clinical but getting nervous of the state test. I guess all we can do is to study the skills thoroughly and master them at our clinical.

3 More Weeks To Go

Time flies incredibly fast, isn't it? I can't believe that we finished the 3 weeks already out of 6 weeks of our CNA class. Monday will be our final test then starting Tuesday through Friday will be laboratory days or skills days. Then finally starting the following Monday for 2 weeks will be our clinical, it is our hands on days with the real nursing home residents. I honestly can't wait to get over with everything now including the licensure exam because I can't wait to start working right away.

Not At School

It's been almost two weeks now since I updated this page. I am just busy with my CNA schooling that will last for six weeks that's why I wasn't here. It's fun being at school again after more than 6 years. Especially doing the nursing skills at the clinical laboratory. I am enjoying it even when before when I was studying associate of nursing degree, I've always enjoyed. Today, I have to miss school because my daughter had fever last night and it is not allowed for her to be in daycare if the fever is within 24 hours. I didn't know about it so I went to the daycare to drop off Mackenzie but then I had to bring her back home with me. Tomorrow she can go to the daycare again. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she won't have fever again. I've been giving her motrin since last night.
