This Writing Desk was custom made by a Baltimore furniture maker in the 1820′s or 1830′s as a wedding gift for the bride of John Rouse, the Great Grandfather of James Rouse. James Rouse was a well known real estate developer and founder of The Rouse Company, which created Columbia, Maryland, one of the first planned and still a very successful community. This desk was later given by the original owner to her granddaughter as a wedding gift. It continued to be passed down through the family and spent the last 20 years with the great grandson of the second woman (his great grandmother) who was the second woman in the family to have received it as a wedding gift. When I purchased it from him, I truly loved knowing its history and thought I would keep it forever. Unfortunately, this recession (or whatever you want to call it) has hit me hard and I must sell what I can in order to pay my mortgage and keep my house. My loss could be your amazing gain. You will NEVER see anything like this piece. It is one of a kind and in REALLY GOOD condition (not absolutely perfect, but at almost 200 years old, nothing at all that calls attention unless you are specifically looking for minor things). The desk is 32 15/16″ wide, the writing desk part is 34 3/8″ tall when the writing desk part is closed, 29″ to 32 1/8″ from the bottom to the top of the slanted writing surface when open and 39 1/8″ tall at the highest point. Please contact me at (410) 299-7307 if you have any questions or to buy this piece. Thank you. Lisa

This is a GORGEOUS early 20th Century Federal Style Games Table in EXCELLENT condition. PLEASE NOTE: THE PICTURES DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE! – I will try to take better ones. This almost 100 year old games table is solid Mahogany with inlay on all 4 legs, the front, both sides and the edge of the entire top in stringer, floral, shell and bellflower designs. One backleg can be swung open to support the top when opened. It is 30″ high when closed, 29″ high when top is fully opened, 35 3/4″ wide and 17 3/4″ deep when closed, 35 1/2″ deep when top is fully open. There is a paper attached to the underside that explains the use and history of the table, signed by the husband of the Baltimore, Maryland couple that owned it from the 1940′s through their entire adult lives. Please contact me at (410) 299-7307 if you have any questions or to purchase this wonderful table.

Please note there is a 4 picture limit, so I put a 5th picture in my Ad for the Pair of Porcelain Lamps. Thank you for looking!

Very attractive OLD (may be antique – not sure if age) 2 1/2 gallon Buffalo Fire Extinguisher, with an outside entirely made of copper (you can see the lovely patina in pictures) with a brass label on the front. The extinguisher is in very good condition with no dents or gouges. The hose is in good condition and it even has the interior bottle that is full! It stands 24″ high and is approximately 7 1/2″ wide. Imprinted in the metal top is “Tested to 350 lbs.” The top of the Label says “Underwriters Laboratories inspected 2 1/2 Gallon Hand Extinguisher Class A-1 No. B-386843 (last number MAY be an 8 or 9, but my best guess is that it is a “3″). The bottom of the label says “Buffalo Fire Appliance Corp. Buffalo, N.Y. USA.” PLEASE NOTE: I HAVE INTENTIONALLY NOT CLEANED IT UP OR POLISHED IT AS I KNOW SOME OF YOU (Like ME) PREFER THE CHARM THAT COMES WITH AGE – IT WOULD CLEAN UP BEAUTIFULLY IF SO DESIRED. This is an interesting and attractive old piece that will add that special touch to an inside or outside room/porch. Call me at (410) 299-7307 if you have any questions or to purchase. Thanks!

This is a pair of original oils by Lois Anderson, each of which is in a beautiful 11 x 14 frame . One is of a horse in a hunter bridle and the other of a horse in a dressage bridle. Her detail is not only incredibly well done, as a horse person, I assure you it is quite accurate as well. Each is signed “Lois Anderson” in the lower left hand corner. Not too big, not too small, they can hang separately or together in almost any room in the house. The framing alone cost more than 1/2 of the purchase price I am asking for this lovely pair, so please take advantage of my financial situation with this fabulous buy!!! Feel free to call me with any questions. I am happy to ship them to you for the actual cost of shipping if so desired. I am 2 hours south of Philadelphia and 45 minutes northwest of Washington, D.C. You can reach me at (410) 299-7307. Happy Treasure Hunting ;^) Lisa

This is a lovely pair of hand painted porcelain lamps with their original white bell shades, all in perfect condition. The artist has signed each lamp within the roses “MSnyder 1956.” They are painted to match, with roses in reds on one side and roses in pinks on the other side. They are delicate in size while still being functional – just perfect for a cozy reading nook or a tasteful bedroom on each bedside table.
