I just finished editioning this 4 color silkscreen print of Don’t Mourn, Organize! They are for sale in my online shop for $35+shipping. This image has been featured on the New Yorker’s website, Broad City, Art In Print, Just Seeds, Verso’s Radical Diary, and is the image that inspired Print Organize Protest. Purchasing this print will help me continue to do this kind of work and help me fund projects like Print Organize Protest. It’s been a rough year for a lot of us, your support means a lot!

In November I founded a new project with called PRINT | ORGANIZE | PROTEST Koak and Craig Dansfield. The project is a network of independent artists and printers working together for radical social change. P.O.P. events are coordinated and autonomous- we work together as a collaborators to coordinate action-oriented printing days and open our doors to the public to come and print shirts, signs, posters, make buttons. We encourage people to actively participate in local organizing events, including city council meetings, town halls, marches, demonstrations and protests. Here in Santa Cruz we’ve been using it as a way to get people ready for the General Strike.

This month we partnered with Interference Archive who hosted a P.O.P. event during their Inaugurate Resistance Propaganda Party where they saw upwards of 500 people come through in two days! One of their founders, Josh McPhee was interviewed about project by Democracy Now! and the New Yorker, where my “Don’t Mourn Organize” print was used as the featured image.

It’s all pretty exciting and pretty incredible.

Originally printed alongside Richard Brautigan’s poem “California Native Flowers” for Independent Bookstore day, this is the art-only edition. Limited, hand numbered and signed. Proceeds from the sale of this print will help with the restoration of my Little Giant Letterpress!

I will also have them available at the MAH Art Market July 26th in Abbott Square, and if you live in town and want to buy them directly from me you can choose the “pick up” option and grab it from me in person!

Tanks are printed on COFFEE American Apparel triblend racerback shirts. T-shirts are printed on NATURAL Next Level sueded jersey shirts (cotton/poly blend). American Apparel tanks run a little small, and the Next Level shirts are long and true to size.

The super amazing folks over at KRATE are helping me get my first (non-band) T-Shirt printed! I’m taking preorders until Monday night for $15 ($20 after)! No shipping charge if you want to pick it up from me, otherwise there is a $3 charge to mail it to you anywhere in the US!

This coming Friday is the opening for my show “North American Birds: Images From the North American Bird Wing at the American Museum of Natural History”. These paintings were done from photographs I took in the AMNH as a Fun-A-Day project in 2011. This is their first formal showing, 32 pieces! The opening reception is March 7th from 5-9 at Stripe: 107 Walnut Avenue, Santa Cruz.

Very excited about this event.

SUPER excited about doing this poster for my buddies Blackbird Raum. This show is going to be RULING. Album release, tour kick off, killer line up, new shirts, AND I’m hand printing posters and back patches for the show.  And I will be in Alaska. Which I want to complain about but I can’t because it’s fucking Alaska! and that is also going to rule. SO. Go to this show for me! Rock out, party hard, and dance the shit out of it.

This weekend was the opening for Cemetery Polka, a group show of art inspired by the music of Tom Waits. I did a piece called “Temptation”, with acrylic, graphite, ink and gold leaf.
