There’s no question as to what this drawing is! Jaryd did a great job in creating this version of Superman, with the giant S on the chest of his blue leotard, red boots and billowing cape, and purple jockstrap. I’m not sure how Clark Kent or his alter ego combs his hair with these T-Rex arms, but would any six year-old artist worry about that?

The Missing Bat?

I believe this is another Halloween drawing by a very young Kayla, probably created on the same day as the one in my previous post. I mentioned on my earlier post of her Halloween scene that it was missing a bat, and I’m guessing she decided that too, and then possibly created this drawing of what I think might be that missing bat. However, the orange duck-feet and carrot-looking nose cause me to wonder if I might be wrong. It could be a penguin if you look at it differently. Regardless, I love the pose and long eyelashes on this creature.

On Porpoise?

I believe this crayon drawing by Trent at 4 is a porpoise or other sea creature. Its abstract quality makes it possible for it to be a whale or even a goldfish in an aquarium with some other blue fish. I love the wispy look and blending of colors. It’s swimmingly beautiful!

What would Halloween be without a few carved pumpkins, a friendly ghost and a few flowers 😊? Wait….no bat? The perspective of the steps leading to the front door of this house makes me feel as if I am walking down a haunted hill.

Hotel Trent

I like his use of perspective on the steps leading up to the very small entrance and the lights shining through the many windows. I also wonder if he was considering a string of hotels branded with his name someday?

Mac's County Fair

Mackenzie and I hadn't drawn in a while so we spent the evening and early morning hours on Paint again. She wanted to capture a county fair and here it is! We had a debate on the Ferris Wheel and ended up with a compromise....and I agreed to a purple customer service building and she allowed a few trees and flowers! We really liked how the roller coaster turned out!

"Family Portrait"

Bree and I started this painting (intended to be a portrait of a fictional family) on a school half-day. I finished it after she was picked up by her Mom. Bree had discovered how we could zoom in up to 8x and really fine-tune our pictures, which has allowed us to start creating more detail in our pictures. We copied one daughter for the second, the Dad for the Grandfather, and one of the Twins for the second.

Can you pick out the mom and dad and their three kids?How about Grandpa? His Girlfriend? Grandpa's girlfriend's twin sons?

Oh dear, this is getting addictive! I think this should be a comic strip family.....hmm.

Mac says Trent should really get credit, but i doubt he really wants to admit drawing it (he's "cool", you know). Frosty looks posed for a Christmas card, doesn't he?

Trent was learning how to use the circle tool and other drawing lines in making Frosty. Trent actually has artistic talent underneath his athletic jock surface. When he was about ten he painted the most incredible rendition of my patio area in acrylic paint, and also draws pictures of skateboarders.
