I'm admit I have been left stop writing or posting any blog since 3 years ago but I'm going to tell you that from now onward I will continue posting blog and be a blogger again :)

However, I do surprise to see my blog still able to maintain Google Page Rank 2. I could say this is very motivated as makes me feel good.

Hence, there will be a restructure of this blog whereby I will change a new template with better design and neat. Stay tune......

My Favorite Hero "Ultraman"

As summer has arrived, most of the shops will have Summer sales or promotions to increase the sales. But when I went for window shopping at Osu "大須" in Nagoya City downtown, something has surprised me! I saw my favorite hero 'Ultraman' was standing infront of me!!

Unfortunately, this time he was not battle with any 'monster', 'dinosaur' or even 'bad guy' but promoting the Japanese gamble machine "Pachinko" instead. Hahaha it's really funny and I just quickly took a shot on him :D

Something awoke me early in the morning??

Early this morning around 5 am when I went to sleep, some noises from the drainage behind my room kept awoke me. So I decided go out and check it out. Just guess what I discovered?

This is the drainage behind my house

A group of Japanese fishes ( Koi 鯉) were playing among each others in the drainage. They seem very enjoy but the problem is the water level was low, so once they swing its tail a loud noise was made and that’s what actually awoke me. After knowing those noises and yet can’t do anything with it, I just had to ignore it and continue my bed as I still have a morning class to attend that day.

Japanese Lunch Box “Bento 弁当”

Note that in June and July, it is a raining season in Nagoya, Japan. Normally, the rain can last for few days continuous. Sometimes it’s just drove me no mood to cook at home as I usually did, then I will go for a Japanese Style Boxed Meal called “Bento 弁当”.

“Bento 弁当” which also as “Boxed Meal” or “Packed Meal” usually includes rice and various dishes which can be eaten deliciously even if they are cold. In fact it is delicious. The box itself has internal dividers, and sometimes several stacked layers, so different kinds of food will be separated. The whole thing is wrapped together with chopsticks in a cloth or special bag, and the goal is to make the whole package as attractive as possible.

From the pictures above, it’s look nice and delicious right? Unfortunately, I don't have any kind of them but just able to get myself a bento from a nearer supermarket which also in half price (normally after lunch hour all the foods price will drop dramatically) and its look like this…

Although it doesn’t have any nice decoration and attractive box as shown in an early picture but believe me its still taste good and delicious indeed.

Free Gift from Toyota Museum

As I forgot to mention about the free gift during my visit in Toyota Museum Nagoya, Japan, this tapestry (free gift) was given away to visitors as to celebrate the Museum reached 2 million visitors since it’s established. It’s awesome right?

Anyway, I received this free gift when I’m having lunch with friends at the restaurant inside the Museum.

It’s been a while since my last post, so I will try hard to write more posts near future regarding Japan-Lifestyle, culture, foods and travel spot and tips especially in Nagoya (as currently I residing here). For this post, I would like to write about TOYOTA Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology where my Architectural History Professor has brought us there to review its design and construction yesterday. :D

Maybe many of you didn’t know that Nagoya is a city of Toyota where Toyota headquarters (HQ) and its factories mostly located here as well as the Museum. Here’s a short brief about Toyota Museum establishment.

Circular loom

The Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology was established jointly by the 13 companies that make up the Toyota Group. The Museum is located at the site of the former Toyoda Spinning & Weaving Co., Ltd headquarters plant, which was the place where the Toyota Group had its beginning. The building was thus preserved as a valuable industrial resource.

The Toyota Group originated from Sakichi Toyoda the inventor of the automatic loom and his oldest son Kiichiro Toyoda, who began production of looms and automobiles. Their aims were to pour all their strength into developing the economy and society through “Making Things” and through “Being Studious and Creative.”

In recent years, as production activities have become more and more sophisticated, opportunities to actually witness the process of “making things” have decreased. The Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology was established to give today’s young people, who must shoulder the burdens of the future age, a glimmer of an understanding, if possible, of the importance of “Being Studious and Creative” as well as to inspire them with the wonder of “making things”.

With a special pass (photo below), we were able to walk in and out of the Museum without any restriction. Mainly, the Museum has divided into two different pavilion; Textile Machinery Pavilion and Automobile Pavilion. All the machines, prototypes will be shown separately according to its categories. Besides, you also can find restaurant, video library, exhibition hall and souvenir shop. The Former Toyota Group Building also located just next to the Museum only.

Although the purpose of this visiting was to review the Museum architecture and construction design but somehow my focus still keep on those steam engines, automobiles and cars model. :D Oh, what a bad student!! Anyway, I'm also have took some video clip on it. Just enjoy :D

Sakura, Sakura, Sakura Nagoya, Japan Part II

As a picture is worth a thousand words, frankly I like that proverb personally. Thus, I would like to post more photos to describe Sakura rather than write a long description on it.

This Sakura photos were took in front of the Nagoya Castle, Nagoya and the area surrounded it. I did not manage to enter Nagoya Castle as it was quite late already by the time I reached. I hope you’ll enjoy the Sakura photos. :D More Sakura photos will be posted in near future.

Roses Garden in Nagoya "Tsurumai Park"

As the spring arrived in Japan, is time for roses to grow. There is a park named “鶴舞公園” (Tsurumai Garden in English) nearby the Nagoya City where plenty of roses were planted. There are more than 100+ species and over 1000+ of roses you can find there. Really amazing huh!! Its also one of the famous spot for rose garden in Nagoya too.

In the park, you can see all different species of roses from a tiny size to the huge size. I won’t list out all the species of roses here as I’m not a “Rose Expect” hehe :) so what you going to do, just look at the photo and find out yourself!!

During weekend, you will see many Japanese will have their family reunion over there. For sure, You also can see lot of people going there just for a nice photo shots like me :D or even sitting there enjoy the roses all days. No doubt, the environment was really nice and wonderful. Besides, in the park you also can find children playgrounds, food stalls and other public facilities such as toilet.

Local Food in Nagoya, Japan

Maybe you have seen a lot of exclusive restaurants in Nagoya where mostly the foods are costly through tourism or travel websites. In this post, I will try to show you some local Japanese style restaurants instead. Yesterday, I and my friend went to one of the local restaurant for having dinner together. The food was cheaper and yet delicious; the environment was nice and you can feel the real Japanese style over there.

This meal was cheap and only cost me about 480 yen which included a bowl of rice with fried chicken steak at top, miso soup (Japanese soup), and meat balls with salad as you can see in the photo below.

Why don't you also have a try when next time you travel in Nagoya? It’s just a good idea to search for local restaurants because the environment and styles are totally different from restaurants in hotel or well known (expensive) restaurants.

Beauties of Nature - Parks in Nagoya City

Last week, my Environmental teacher has brought us to visit some parks in Nagoya City as part of the lecture. I've found out it was very special for some parks with its well planning and concept as well. So I've decided to write this post.

The first and second park we visited was design where its combine with the school. Its mean that's no fence or concrete wall between school and park. The concept is pretty good especially for primary school as children mostly like to play at park I guess? Besides, the park also provide some general facilities such as bench and drinkable water as you can see at the photo below.

The third park we visited was more to the natural environment. The planning was nice and very comfortable. When we were there, I almost can't believe that's a park!! The rope bridge and small man made waterfall has created an incredible view. Just look at the photo below :D

While the last park we visited was called Hachiryuu Ryokuchi 八竜緑地(はちりゅうりょくち). Actually its like a forest in small scale then a park but yet this little forest was surrounded by residential area. Inside, you can have a safe walk as a proper walkway was prepared. You also managed to enjoy the nice view of lake as they use it for water preservation purpose.

Is really a good spot for family reunion over weekend especially if you like get touch with the natural environment.

Sakura, Sakura, Sakura Nagoya, Japan

When you think of Japan, you think of Sakura flower which famous for its beautiful view. Fortunately, this year I able to enjoy the Sakura Festival (Matsuri) in Japan :D No doubt the flowers are pretty, with the natural environment set as background it's create an amazing view of it.

I've been few places in Japan to enjoy Sakura, here is one of the famous Sakura spot in Nagoya, Yamazakigawa 山崎川 which located in Nagoya City. Actually, this place is a drainage area, but with proper planning which all different species of Sakura trees planted along the side and nice pedestrian walkway too. It does create a nice view for it.

During evening, many peoples will pay a visit over here for a walk, jogging or just sitting there enjoy the beauty of Sakura. Here are some photos I took over there, hope you all enjoy :D Next post, I will try to write on Sakura in Kyoto.
