I haven’t been blogging for a while and decided to make a comeback with this little guy by Bugaboo.  I thought this was a good entry for Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge 80 : snowmen this week.  I embossed and inked up some vellum to make the background. I quite like the effect.

This is my entry for the CDAC Progressive Challenge #9. This digital image provided by Crafty Ann’s for the challenge and is coloured with Flexmarkers.

This is a project that I didn’t get around to sharing last month in the mad rush to get everything ready for Christmas. I made a little pizza box to hold 4 tea light candles and folded a piece of 13,5 cm by 13,5cm card to hold it. I cut a window with circle nestie and made a frame using the same nestie and a slightly larger Nellie Snellen die. There is a piece of recycled clear packaging stuck on the inside to make sure the candles don’t fall out. The sentiment stamp is from Great Impressions. The snowflake stamps are from a stamp set from a local Dutch store (Kruidvat). Gingham ribbon, ink pads and card stock from stash.

I flipped the image to look the other way (gotta love digital images!)  and coloured ‘her’ with Flexmarkers. The frame is made with the leftover outside of a Nellie Snellen die. The paper swirls are die cut with a die from Crealies.nl.  The sentiment is from a mini stamp set by Inkadinkadoo.

I decided to make the sentiment the focal point of the card and layerd it on top of a scalloped nestie and a Marianne design doily. I made the base by dry embossing  a metal template and then cutting away some parts with a craft knife.

The challenge on Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge this week is ‘whatever lights your candle’. I have chosen to take this literally and make a card using a candle image. I liked the purples in the image and pyramids are quite fun to do. What I really had fun with was making the paper frame for the image. It is standard linen card stock which has been embossed and then spritzed with pearl glossy accents. I used a spellbinders tag die to cut out the frame. I used the same tag die to cut out the sentiment so that the card was ‘balanced’. It is very different to what I have been making recently, but I think I like it.

This is my second card for the CDAC Progressive Challenge #6.  Other than the digital stamp from Gingerloft and the card base, this is made entirely out of scraps. Even the die cut edge was a ‘flop’ from another card.
