A gorgeous view into Yellowstone from the point of view of a geyser.




A beautiful black bear that caused a bear jam as we all scrambled in Northern Yellowstone to see him. You&#39;ll notice the lack of a hump on the back of their neck between their shoulder blades as a distinguishing characteristic.

Pronghorn. They can run up to 60mph. Boy was I glad they keep their horns for this photo (antlers are dropped toward the end of winter in antler using animals.)

    On our second day out we decided to dip our toes into Yellowstone for a bit. Keep in mind the ride from Jackson Hole, WY to the Northern Mammoth hot Springs takes approximately 3.5hrs at safe speeds (slower then the limit.)

I don&#39;t convert to black and white often, but when Nik color efex pro had a b&amp;w filter by default and it looked good I decided to dump it into silver eFex pro and give it a go!









For both images I used the filter that had high structure and contrast. I also dialed in a red filter to make the sky pop and slightly lowered the structure. Barnegat is a location that I have wanted to visit for a long time. It being the eve of Christmas I thought how appropriate would it be to show a bird with a love for the cold. This is a Snowy Owl. A beautiful bird and a first for myself photographing it. It is an immature bird as seen by its spotty plumage. The adult form is pure white.
