He said to me, “They can take away your name, your money, or your land…but they can never take away what you learn.”

My father is a Mexican immigrant.

He lives with legs in two different worlds: 1. Blindly patriotic to America and wears a USA flag pin on his lapel most days; and 2. Carrying the weight of memories from a different country where much was taken.

He raised me to believe that education is the most valuable thing in which I could invest.

Why? On the surface, you’d think he loved the constant pursuit of knowledge (he’s the type of guy who’ll casually slip in 10-syllable words over breakfast chilaquiles), but it’s truly about owning something that can never be taken from you.

I deeply believe the same.

I invest 10% into ongoing education/personal development every year and it’s profoundly changed my business.

Can I take you behind-the-scenes of a recent investment and what I learned?

Buckle up and be sure to wear your American flag pin, because we’re going all in…

If you’re a regular listener of my podcast (or you watch on YouTube), you heard me admit that I’ve hit a creative rut.

That’s extraordinarily hard for me to admit, but it’s true.

Creating content (something that used to sprout from my mind like dandelions) suddenly required a Herculean effort. It felt like I was trying to create in a parched desert.

It started in October 2022. And here we are in October 2026.

FOUR YEARS IN A CREATIVE DEATH VALLEY?!?

On the outside, it’d be hard for you to tell, but on the inside? Exhausted. What once gave me energy, was now sucking it all away.

I hate (hate!) saying this.

If I was being honest, so much of my identity has been wrapped up in creating content that it was hard to admit that maybe I lost it. (”It” being the elusive gifting from the creative muses in my mind.)

Here’s the CRAZIEST part: I didn’t stop creating. I persevered.

And while there’s a certain degree of nobility in my decision, there’s also a bit a mania too. After all, wasn’t it Einstein who said that insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result?

Last month I invested in a business audit with Jamie Sea to see if she might be able to help me focus on a part of my business where I desperately needed a fresh perspective: CONTENT.

Last week we met online to review her insights and here’s what I’ll say: For the first time in four years, I felt a flicker of my old self return.

Those mercurial muses began to visit the edges of my mind, inviting me to look at Jamie’s insights and ask myself deeper questions not about WHAT I create, but HOW I create it.

If I could revisit the HOW, maybe my entire content system is recreated. And—who knows—maybe I create without a system for a while?

Maybe I just get back to me, creating in the mess…and being okay with it.

Want to read what Jamie included in her audit? These 3 takeaways felt like a straight shot into my soul (I hope they might resonate for you in some way too):

The Jasmine I experience and the Jasmine I experience through parts of the business feel different to me. When I’m actually with you, I experience someone who is f**king SHARPPPPP. You hear what someone says and simultaneously seem to hear the thing underneath what they’re saying. You can hold the macro view of a business while noticing a tiny detail that changes the entire diagnosis. I can watch your brain encounter a collection of seemingly disconnected pieces and then boom, you know what’s actually happening. Then you make the complicated thing feel hella obvious.

Then I go online, and I lose you. I see that brilliant brain teaching posting frequency, sending DMs, content pillars, broad inspiration, messaging, marketing, sales and system. There are moments where I could remove your name from the content and I’m not convinced I would immediately know it could only have come from you. And that’s the gap, because I know what happens when I actually experience you.

What we need to find out is what conditions turn an idea from Jasmine into the version of Jasmine that is fking electric?** Because I can hear the difference. There’s Jasmine who knows something and creates content about it, and then there’s Jasmine who gets activated by something and suddenly her whole brain, magic, and genius comes online. That’s the version of you I experience in conversation. That’s the version you describe on stage, live, candid, in consulting, and when you’re riffing. So I don’t want to overhaul the fact that you originate your ideas. I want to understand what happens between “I have something to say” and “holy sht, Jasmine is ON”* and build more of your creative process around that.

So here begins a new chapter in my life as an entrepreneur and creator.

I don’t know the exact steps I need to take (yet), but I feel the electric current running through my brain again. Slowly, cautiously, but it’s there.

And that makes me thankful.

Every morning I wake up and think to myself, “What am I going to shake up today?!”

How will I create podcasts, rewrite sales pages, how will I teach live classes, what changes in the way I write newsletters, how willing am I to test new approaches to short form videos…?

This list goes ON (and ON), but I’m excited to get back to me, the magical me, and create from a place that is fully lit up.

I hope you are too.

To New Beginnings,
j*

And despite it all, I’m thankful.

So, so thankful.

Shall we begin in reverse order of this rollercoaster of a month?

If I had to use one word to describe the month of September, it’d be: HEALING.

Unexpected healing.

Okay that was two words. I blame the pain killers

Think about when you made your morning coffee today.

You poured water into the coffee maker, pressed the button, and a few minutes later, you had a fresh, hot cup of coffee.

The cause? Pressing the button and starting the process.

The effect? Your delicious cup of coffee. Simple, right?

This is the Law of Cause and Effect.

Everything that happens to you—good or bad—has a cause.

When you embrace this, life becomes easier, more joyful, and (most importantly) you’re in a state of radical acceptance.

For most my life I raged against accepting things out of my control.

When my mom was diagnosed with brain cancer…when the business went unexpectedly sideways in 2022…when I couldn’t start a family.

Oh, how I raged.

And the worst part is that none of these personal situations had a clear, distinct Cause.

But the Effects? They were like living in a nightmare I couldn’t wake from.

And yet.

If I truly believed in Cause and Effect (and I decided that I did), then I could control what I caused.

And I soon became a one-woman freak show of non-stop causation, a wrecking ball of Cause.

There wasn’t a cancer specialist I wouldn’t visit…a business solution I wouldn’t try…an adoption lawyer I wouldn’t speak to.

I believed that the more Causes I created, the more Effects I could affect.

If I didn’t quit, I couldn’t lose.

But here’s the thing: most people don’t live this way.

(For years, I didn’t either.)

When they face obstacles or failures, instead of taking ownership, they blame someone else.

(Their boss, the economy, their upbringing, their lack of time…it’s always something outside of them.)

And when they do that, they give up control of their own life.

They start believing that their success is in someone else’s hands.

The truth? The most successful people in the world own their actions.

They take full responsibility.

When they fail, they don’t make excuses.

They learn, they adjust.

And they move forward.

Living in alignment with the Law of Cause and Effect means you’re no longer waiting for someone to hand you the life you want: you’re creating it.

And the more you understand this law, the faster you’ll see results.

Every single experience you have in life (whether it’s a win or a setback) is packed with information.

It teaches you about the effects of your actions so you can refine them and get better results.

The most brilliant minds in history didn’t see failure as failure—they saw it as an experiment.

They took in feedback, made adjustments, and kept going.

That’s living in harmony with the law of cause and effect.

The moment you stop looking outside yourself for the reason things aren’t working, you gain the ability to change them.

Last week, I went on a walk with my sister. (This is a weekly routine where we begin our walk at 5:00 in the morning, and we walk about 10,000 steps.)

We watch the sunrise, and we talk about everything under the sun.

Surprisingly, my sister mentioned that when she listens to my podcast, she said I sound too harsh, too direct.

Bianca went as far as said, “You just sound like everything is easy, like you don’t acknowledge how hard it really is.”

Whoa.

I’m writing this note to let you know I’m a work in progress, and so is my business.

If I have ever come across like I have it together, that nothing goes wrong, that I think my ideas are brilliant, or I’ve never made a mistake, I ask for your forgiveness for that misrepresentation.

The truth and the reality is that I’ve made more mistakes than anybody else I know.

Building this business has been the hardest thing I have ever done.

If I have ever given the impression that running a business is feeling like my toes are in the sand, frolicking on private jets while doing shots of caviar, I beg your pardon.

Despite how I might come across on my podcast, the words I share with you are purely out of humility and love.

I love that you’re here, and I love that you want to build a business, and I love that you want to make more money than most people think is possible.

It’s out of THAT love that I will respectfully tell you that my voice carries the truth and reality: building a business will be the hardest thing you will ever do, and it will also be the most rewarding thing you will ever do.

I also want to remind you that if other people:

Don’t understand the decisions that you’re making

Don’t see the future that you see

Don’t understand the sacrifices you’re making…

…KEEP GOING.

If people doubt or question your ability to build a business, please know that you would not have been given the vision if you did not have the capacity to bring it to life.

You are not given these ideas and desires by happenstance.

You’re given them as a responsibility to bring them to life, but with that responsibility comes the deep commitment to be unrelenting on days that are dark, cold, and lonely.

Please remember: I don’t have it together, nor am I a Know-It-All.

I’m just a girl speaking her truth, asking you to avoid my mistakes, count the cost of building your dream, and be relentless in your pursuit.

10,000 Steps at a Time,
j*

P.S. You can listen to my podcast >>HERE<< or watch it on >>YouTube<<.

There are certain conversations that leave me feeling challenged, inspired, and completely rethinking what’s possible.

This is one of them.

And I’m THRILLED to share with you.

Natalie Dawson and I are diving into topics that don’t get discussed nearly enough: money, ownership, wealth-building, and what it really takes to create extraordinary success.

Natalie shared that women today have more earning power than ever before, yet many don’t have trusted mentors, advisors, or peers they can openly discuss money with.

Women are making more than their spouses, their parents, and even the people who traditionally guided them—and as a result, they’re navigating financial decisions alone.

Natalie believes that’s a problem.

Because while there’s no shortage of financial advice online, there’s often a shortage of honest, practical conversations from women who are actively building wealth and sharing what they’ve learned along the way.

One of the most powerful moments in this conversation comes when Natalie made a bold claim:

If you don’t currently have a skill capable of generating $500,000 per year, your next goal should be developing one.

At first, that number might feel intimidating, but Natalie broke down exactly why she believes it’s achievable.

And this conversation goes far beyond business tactics.

Natalie shared a deeply personal story about a costly business relationship that taught her one of the most important lessons of her career: nobody will ever have your best interests in mind more than you do.

So she challenged herself to answer the following questions:

What did I do to create this situation, and what do I need to learn so it never happens again?

That mindset of radical ownership becomes a recurring theme throughout our conversation, and I can’t wait for you to enjoy it on VIDEO >>HERE<<.

Dear friend… I’m writing this note in two parts: 1. Before the VIP Consulting Session; and After.

With her permission, Callan Faulkner is allowing me to document her journey to a 8-figure launch this October.

A few details I need share to get this party started off right:

Callan hired me to consult her personal branding and marketing strategy.

We were friends, now I’m honored to say she’s a client, too.

No, I don’t always share my clients’ stories publicly (Callan insisted we share everything so—collectively, as an industry—we rise…let’s GO!).

Monday 1:13pm : En Route to Minnesota

In preparation for my time working with Callan and her team, we’re meeting for a full-day VIP session.

I emailed an onboarding questionnaire last week and though I won’t get into the details, I’m able to share that their goal was Systems and Processes for their Marketing Strategy.

And this? THIS IS WHERE MY INNER GEEK DANCES WITH MY CREATIVE SOUL.

This is where systems and content basically do the Lambada.

Don’t know what the Lambada is?

Good for you, it’s not for holy eyes. It’d make Elvis blush.

I always get a bit nervous and excited when I get to consult a new client…and this is an extra sweet opportunity.

In a (rare) personal look into how I’m feeling, it’s also bittersweet.

Every client I’ve worked with, I’ve had my mentor Susan at my side. She was an ace in my pocket.

She taught me how to think, what to release, and how to get to the core issue of high level strategic opportunities.

When we lost Susan to cancer in June, the hole in my heart felt endless.

When Callan signed as a client, my mentor was the first person I wanted to call.

Before JD dropped me off at the airport, he said, “Remember, Susan is still with you…she left you everything you need…trust it.”

So I trust.

Tuesday 7:46pm : En Route to Newport Beach

Last night Callan hosted dinner for her friends, and she invited me.

I watched the sun set behind lush green trees in her backyard while cicadas sang to usher in the moon.

She grilled filet mignon. We ate, laughed, and dreamt out loud.

It felt like Self Awareness Summer Camp, but instead of sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows, we simply said to each other, Tell me s’more.

Close to midnight, I arrived to my Lake Minnetonka house (no, it’s not technically mine, but I acted like it was so one day it will be) and slept with the window shades pulled up.

Sunrise was my alarm and I ate breakfast on an Adirondack chair, my toes tucked in the lush green grass.

When Callan and her team arrived at 9am, we hit the ground running and—like how most of these VIP Consulting Sessions go—we set the intention, then simply created the space to:

Ideate: Ask WHY, get clear, what are we solving for?

Conversate: There are no bad questions, we focus on facts (no feelings), we weigh perspectives.

Co-Create: List action items, set a plan, outline initiatives.

And here’s the best part: The day ended with high level outline of her brand strategy.

Not her brand itself, but, rather, creating a regularly scheduled time to define it, share it with her leaders, and trust they build it according to her ethos.

It was a beautiful thing to watch unfold.

Most people know Callan for running the top A.I. educational program for entrepreneurs, but I was fortunate to witness her deep desire to help business owners build successful businesses, and have more time to live a full life.

A full life of time, freedom, and even room for play.

What you’ll begin to see is the evolving nature of her brand, messaging, and content to reflect the value she helps create for others.

I can’t wait for you to experience her evolution and (with her permission) be able share her biggest lessons and takeaways as we work together.

Sunrises over Lake Minnetonka,
j*

In light of Labor Day this Monday, I’ll use the upcoming day off to reflect on my business.

I plan for a slow morning, a bit of time alone, and journaling reflections as prepare for the last quarter 2026.

Want to join me by getting a look at my schedule?

SLOW MORNING:

Wake up without an alarm (usually 5am)

Meditate and pray

Workout (yoga or pilates to stretch and rotate slowly)

Home by 7am to have coffee with JD before Luna arises.

TIME ALONE:

Walk on the beach, walk in nature, or get a facial

JOURNAL REFLECTIONS:

What am I proud of in the last 90 days?

What is the biggest lesson I learned in the last 90 days and what will I do in the future to prove I’ve learned from it/won’t repeat it?

What will I focus on in the next 90 days?

What specific project must I complete in the next 90 days?

Where will I travel to experience business and pleasure with my family in the next 90 days?

I’ll be home at 11:00am and spend the rest of the day with friends and family, and I hope you find time to pour back into yourself, not just your business.

To making the next 90 days the best of the year,
j*

There are things many of us don’t admit publicly, especially not on social media.

As my friend Jamie said, “I’m bored of business owners not sharing the real sh*t they’re navigating behind the scenes…”

So here’s mine…

I’m at a point where Life threw me a pool floaty, an oxygen mask, and slowly turned to look at me in the backseat of her rollercoaster and whispered with a country drawl, BUH KHUL UP.

Then took a drag of her cigarette and went all gas, no breaks.

Despite my best attempts, my only option has been to hang on for dear life…and choose to enjoy the ride.

A newly-hired teammate ghosted us after three weeks in her position. Like, just disappeared. No contact, ignoring messages, left without a note. We were left to pick up pieces in her absence, and I felt confused. (We’ve since hired a new person and have chosen to believe everything is happening FOR us.)

I’m struggling with a mental block with my social content. It feels off, I feel off. Not only is this factually annoying, it’s secretly tied up with my identity as a creative entrepreneur. I feel like a painter who’s staring at a blank canvas with a palette of paint in front of me, but can’t will my brush to move. (But I’m still creating and posting every day because action is the antidote to feeling stuck.)

I signed a new consulting client. Things are under wrap right now as we build her brand and marketing strategy, but I AM SO EXCITED I LITERALLY FIST-PUMPED THE AIR LIKE I WAS FROM THE JERSEY SHORE when the contract closed. (Gym, Tan, Laundry.)

It’s hard saying no. I’m in a season where opportunities abound and I wish I could say yesyesyes like Oprah to them all. Instead, I’m choosing to stay focused. I’m reminding myself that less is more. But it really sucks sometimes. (Discipline > Distraction)

Like always, business is a mix of beauty, boldness, and bewilderment (let’s also throw in beguiling, beautific, bombastic because I LOVE ALLITERATION and I’m sitting with an open thesaurus), but I want to remind us (mostly me) that we’re not alone.

We’re the fortunate ones who get to choose this life, this business.

What a gift.

Brash and Brightly Yours (SOMEONE TAKE THE THESAURUS AWAY FROM ME),
j*

P.S. Dropped a podcast I’m particularly proud of, “Action First. Confidence Later. (WHAT to do & HOW to do it)”… I walked through a conversation outlining how, precisely, I approach business building with a specific framework for the WHAT and HOW of success. You can listen to audio >>HERE<<, or watch video >>HERE<<.

I’m testing a new thing in my business: I’m teaching a live class every Tuesday.

Crazy, right?!

I want to share the 3 Best/Worst things about this new form of weekly business building.

3 BEST THINGS

The LIVE connection – I’m teaching in real time to business owners and the connection is palpable. I can literally feel their desire, fear, hunger to learn how to build a successful online version of their business.

Improving my Presentation Skills – I recently spoke at Shelby Sapp’s Women and Wealth Conference and I noticed a distinct difference in HOW I spoke. It was calmer, confident, and in flow. When I reflected on why, I immediately understood the power of weekly reps my live class provided, which improved my in-person delivery.

Q&A = R&D – During my live class, I open Q+A at the end. The premise of the class is outlining my 4-part method to creating a successful digital offer and online business based on your expertise and experience. By the time Q+A rolls around, the business owners in the class present incredibly insightful questions and answering them helps me craft my offer even MORE carefully each week. It’s like a healthy dose of Research & Development, which I’ve loved.

3 WORST THINGS

The Anxiety Spike – This is hard to admit, but I start feeling anxious the day before the live class. My stomach aches, and I nervously start pumping my right leg when I’m seated. I want to teach so well for people who attend, that I begin spinning around how I can get better, what could go wrong, and how I can serve them. And that leads me to…

Tech is Unpredictable – While on a recent trip to Atlanta for a conference, I was slated to teach the live class from my hotel room. The wifi didn’t work. I switched the wifi, no luck. I tried tethering to my phone, that didn’t work. I ran to the conference center to use that wifi, and guess what? IT DIDN’T WORK EITHER. What I learned from this lesson? I need to buy Starlink and take it on every business trip.

The After Effects – I can be pretty hard on myself after each live class. I analyze what I could have done better, or how I could’ve presented better. I also feel deeply responsible, but I remind myself to stay grateful. It’s a gift to be able to empower entrepreneurs to create a successful online offer that changes their lives. (Yes, I know that sounds dramatic, but I deeply believe).

This year has been a way for me to test new things as I grow my business and—like always—I want to share the lessons from my journey with you.
