Our sweet and talented friend Bridgette once again captured some very sweet pictures of our family!   After the drought we've been having in Texas, we were lucky to find a lush little spot. This flight back to Nebraska was our easiest one to date with both kids.  Sloan is getting to an age where he will watch the iPad or draw for chunks of time without getting too restless. Marin's teacher invited parents into the classroom for a little Thanksgiving snack and performance.  Marin has only 12 kids in her class and they really are a sweet group of kids.   They were all lined up to sing us a couple songs! My mini-me singing 'Appo Bufday do mommy'. We celebrated Marin's birthday with her friends at our neighborhood pool. She was so excited about swimming in the DEEP side of the pool. Here comes Oliver!  The kids loved the slide. Marin has been begging to take the training wheels off of her bike, so this weekend it finally happened! She's ready to give it a try on two wheels. We took advantage of the long weekend to make a trip to San Antonio. Little did we know we were driving into one of the worst rainfalls on record in San Antonio!! They got up to 17 inches of rain in about a day.  Fortunately, there was an indoor/outdoor pool where we spent most of our time shielded from the rain.  We contemplated going to Sea World, but the rain answered that question for us.

We made it to early church on Mother's Day followed by a trip out to the Oasis.   Morgan made her first solo flight to Texas to come visit us. She just finished up her Freshman year at UNL! I heard great things about Berry Springs Park in Georgetown, so we decided to check it out last weekend.  The main attractions are two donkeys name Poco and Amigo.  Marin had a blast feeding them!     Pure excitement! These pictures of Sloan 'drawing' remind me so much of Marin at this age. He has really good fine motor skills…his gross motor is pretty stellar too--this kid can climb! It has been a lovely spring in Texas. We've finally gotten some rain and we're still having lots of 70* days! This means it's picture time in the bluebonnets! Marin & Sloan were so excited to finally meet their new baby cousin, Madeline! We headed to Dallas and stayed at the Embassy Suites in Frisco. Nana and Papa came for a visit before returning to Nebraska and one of the highlights was playing 'Boom' Bird {Angry Birds} on Papa's iPad. Even Sloan got in on a bit of the 'gaming' action! There may have been a bit of Mickey Mouse Clubhoues playing too! The kiddos love that!   Cumberland guys love their screen time! I'm guessing Sloan is our mini Wizard in training!

It only took about 183 tries, but we got a pretty good shot of everyone looking in the same direction! A few more egg hunting pictures...  Even Sloan got into it toward the end and was proud of his good find!  The holidays are a little sweeter with these two little monkeys to keep us on our toes.

Marin dyed all of the eggs for us this year! She insisted that she didn't need any help and sure enough she didn't! The best part??  She was busy for the better part of an afternoon. Easy does it! Way to go, big girl!
