Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam

History

Before 1963, Shah Alam was known as Sungai Renggam and was a palm oil plantation which was situated between Petaling Jaya and Bandar Diraja Klang while being connected through the only highway at that time, the Federal Highway.

Malaysia grew rapidly after its independence in 1957 under the ‘Father of Modernization’, the second Prime Minister of Malaysia, Allahyarham Tun Abdul Razak Hussein. Shah Alam was opened in 1963 with the purpose of making it the administrative center of Selangor once Kuala Lumpur was made a Federal District on February 1st, 1974. With the consent of 8th DYMM Sultan of Selangor, Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj on December 7th, 1978, Shah Alam was proclaimed the capital of Selangor with an area of 41.68 square km. Shah Alam had encountered several processes of extending its areas and the last was on January 1st 1997. Through the Gazette Plan 1190, Shah Alam was extended to 293 square km.

Tampin Municipal Council was formed on 1st of July 1980, resulting from restructuring via provisions of the Local Government Act 1976. Tampin was previously known as Tampin Board of District. Tampin stretches the areas of 50 square miles or 12,949.94 hectare. The area which falls under the administration of Tampin Municipal Council includes Tampin Town, Gemencheh Town, Gemencheh Lama, Gemencheh Baru, Batang Melaka , Air Kuning Selatan, Gedok and Gemas.

B. CONDITIONS FOR APPOINTMENT AND QUALIFICATIONS

1. 1. The candidates for appointment should have the following qualifications :
a) Malaysian Citizen;
b) Not less than 18 years old on the advertisement closing date ;
c) (i) Bachelor Degree accredited by the government from local institutions of higher learning or equivalent qualifications ;or
(ii) Bachelor Degree in Law accredited by the government from local institution of higher learning or equivalent qualification.
(Starting salary is on GRADE N41:P1T3); or

(iii) Bachelor Degree in Law accredited by the government from local institutions of higher learning or equivalent qualifications.
((Starting salary is on GRADE N41:P1T4);

d) Credit in Bahasa Malaysia / Bahasa Melayu (including a pass in Oral examination) in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia level or equivalent qualifications accredited by the Government.
2. Officer who is working as Assistant Administrative Officer and Admininstrative Assistant (Secretarialship) Grade N32 is qualified to be considered by the Appointment Authority for promotion based on appointment to Admin Officer GRADE N41, subject to vacancies, when he or she has been confirmed in the service:-

a) (i) has a qualification as per above 1(c) paragraph; or
(ii) Pass in a special exam; and
b) Less 54 years old on the appointment date.
C. HOW TO APPLY

a) Application should be made using Special Form which can be obtained from Tampin District Council (Admin Division) for free. Either collects personally or by send a self-addressed and stamped envelope measuring 32cm x 22 cm.

b) All application form must be attached with a passport sized photograph, copy of identity card, copy of birth certificate and school certificates, testimonial letter and other relevant documents certified by either a People’s Representative, any government officers in Management and Professional Group or Support Group 1 who was given authority or a Penghulu or JKKK Chairman with official stamp.

c) All applications should be addressed to
