Don’t Call It A Break-Up

It’s the last ever episode of Jay n’ J. That’s right folks, the guys are parting ways and thus the naming convention doesn’t really make sense anymore. Jay n’ Jordan aren’t skimping though. They’ve got the usual stuff with a bit of a twist. First is the regular intro jazz with an “of all time” added to the end.

Then listen for an interview with local film makers and CineCoup entrants Akash Sherman and Zachary Vydra. Two out of the Three minds behind Uprising. They talk to the guys about what their project is all about, and what it’s taking to get their film accelerated.

After that hear Jay n’ Jordan talk about the beginning, the middle, and now the end of Jay n’ J. And don’t call it a break-up!

Slider - Ninja Turltes

Remember back in the 80s when you’d sit down for Saturday morning cartoons and those silly anthropomorphic crime fighters would come on the screen? No not those ones. The other ones. Those Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have made there way back to the small screen and Jay has brought local TV/comics expert and Comics! the Blogger James Leask onto the show to talk about Nickelodeon’s version of your favorite 80s show. Listen in as the guys talk at length about what they think of this new representation of the Turtles, AND James has a special giveway for a few lucky listeners (as always use #JaynJ to enter)! You can’t go wrong.

Retro Review - RoboCop

Jay? Have you ever watcher RoboCop? No? Don’t bother. What’s that? You want to do a retro review on it…

That was pretty much my side of the conversation when Jay decided that he wanted to watch RoboCop. Why not do a retro review on it, right? RoboCop was released in 1987 and stars Peter Weller as RoboCop. Did Jay like what he watched when he saw RoboCop for the first time? Did Jordan change his mind about wether it’s worth watching? Slider - Bill Eddins Interview

We hope you enjoyed the Oscars this weekend! To celebrate Jay sat down with Edmonton Symphony Orchestra conductor Bill Eddins to talk about this Summer’s Two Orchestras Play the Music of John Williams. John Williams has been apart of many Oscar winning movies, and won many Oscars himself. So we thought it kind of made sense… right? It was an absolute honour to talk with Bill, and you can hear why in the interview. Bill can go from talking about the amazing work of John William’s in ET to the fun and ridiculousness of award shows. Listen in as Jay talks one on one with the super talented Bill Eddins.

The Oscars are almost here! And just like last year, Jordan and I are going to put our Oscar predictions up on the world wide web for you to see (check them out below). And also like last year we’ll be tweeting with the hashtag JaynJOscars on Oscar Sunday (5:00pm MT February 24th) and we want you to join. But we won’t be doing it by ourselves this year, oh no…

This year Jordan and I will be having an online AND offline party. We’ve invited some of our past podcast guests to the #JaynJ theatre to help us tweet, discuss, and generally make fun of The Oscars. Maybe we’ll even do a little side-betting on who will win some of the smaller awards? Or maybe a “Who can make the best Family Guy reference?” game of some kind? Either way be sure to tune into (and join in on) the #JaynJOscars twitter stream starting at 5:00pm MT on February 24th. It’s going to be a ton of fun.

There was some big news last week on the upcoming Star Wars movie, so Jay n’ Jordan thought it would be a great time to bring you their thoughts on the Edmonton exclusive Star Wars Identities. The guys went to the Telus World of Science a while back to check it out and in this episode they’ll tell you what it’s all about. Did the guys see Yoda? Did Jay s Star Trek love get in the way? Was Jordan shocked by the amount of clouds in Cloud City? None of these questions will be answered, but tune in to find out what questions will be! Discussion - Movies vs. Video Games

It’s the guys’ first official episode of Season 2! And Jay n’ Jordan are bringing you something a little different than usual. A while back Matt Dykstra and Aaron Taylor where talking about the emotional connections and differences between Video Games and Movies and the guys’ thought it would make for the perfect episode. So here it is! Matt and Aaron join Jay n’ Jordan for a deep and dissecting episode talking all about which is the more emotionally investing medium: film or games? With examples from Skyrim, Ocean’s 11, Halo 4, Tree of Life, and many other games and films. This is definitely going to be a polarizing episode. In this month’s full episode with Jay n’ Jordan, the guys have something a little a different then usual. Retro REVIEW - Interview with the Vampire

So, we’re not sure if you’re aware, but a certain vampire movie came out this weekend and Jay n’ Jordan didn’t see it. Instead the guys sat down to talk a worthy vampire movie. Being that Jay hadn’t seen Interview With The Vampire, they thought this weekend would be the perfect opportunity to revisit this classic. No Team Jacob or Edward, just good old fashioned Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise being vampires. Listen in as Jay n’ Jordan talk REAL vampires!
