I wanted to show you this clever and adorable gift I got from my friend Sara.

Isn't it a great idea? Sara used the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, which was put in a standard type frame. The ribbon is on the "outside" of the frame (so it doesn't get smashed). When I have something that I need to order, I just write on it with a dry erase marker. No more little notes lying around my desk top getting misplaced. I love it!

It's Banner Time!

Check the list out to see if your favorite stamps or accessories are there and order them before they are no longer available! Don't panic - you have a little more time, but not much!

I have another banner to show you today. My stamping buddies and I got together early this month and each of us made a banner similar to this. We were inspired by one that Shelli Gardner had done and posted on her blog. You can see Shelli's banner HERE.

The colors I used are Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Crumb Cake with a little Always Artichoke added. (My living room furniture is about that shade of green, so I figured if I ever wanted to put this up in the living room, I wanted it to coordinate.)

Here are close-ups of each panel. The size of these is about 5" by 7". I've listed the stamp sets that I used on each panel under the picture. I think they're pretty self-explanatory, but if you have any questions, just pop me an e-mail and I'll try to answer your question as best I can!

The background piece is from the Natural Composition Specialty DSP - and since the design was the music staff, I thought that was appropriate for me. Also used the Dress Up Framelits Die, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Creative Elements, Paper Daisies (retiring), 5/8" Vanilla Flower Trim (also retiring).

This was my "fussy cutting" card for the group. I find cutting out images like this (known as fussy cutting) relaxing. I was working on them at a Creative Escape weekend and had many people comment on the amount of cutting I was doing. Hey, what can I say? Call me nuts, but I like to do it!

I can't remember if Yvette said she stamped and embossed with white first and then stamped with the dye ink on top of that or vice versa, but it looks cool whatever way she did it!

Do you see that gorgeous strip down the center? That is made by taking the Delicate Details Lace Tape, applying it to Whisper White card stock, and then sponging over the top. When you've sponged as dark as you'd like, simply pull up the Lace Tape! You can re-use it again and again. Gorgeous!

Spring 8x8 Shadowbox Insert

I have a new shadowbox insert to show you today! I absolutely love the bright, fun colors that we used.

What do you think? Do you like it?

We took our inspiration and color palette from the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Paper. We also used a lot of the images from the Spring Sampler stamp set and the Rain or Shine stamp set. All of these products are in the Spring Catalog and will be available until May 31, 2013 (only about three weeks).

The banner was made with the Designer Type Photopolymer Stamp Set. Because of the photopolymer, I was able to "bend" the banner before I stamped it, and it was a piece of cake to stamp the letters in each section since the stamps are completely clear!

I'm telling you, these inserts are addicting! I'm sure we'll be making a summer one pretty soon.

Spring/Summer Banner Class

Pretty Postage Samples

Would you believe I've got the "crud" again? Really, I've had enough of this.

So since I'm really wanting to be upstairs relaxing on the couch, I'm just going to throw a few samples at you and head off to that goal. These cards all feature the Pretty Postage stamp set. Such an adorable little stamp set, soon to head off into retirement.

I should be ecstatic - my preorder of new catalog items came today. Normally when the UPS guy gets here, I'm like this...

But today I could barely muster a Guess maybe I should head off to bed instead of the couch.

Stamp Group Cards

With the retiring stamps and accessories lists out, I have started using pretty much all retiring items for my classes and clubs. This will be my last opportunity to demonstrate them before they fly away for good.

My bi-monthly stamp group met last week and we did these two cards for their projects.

SUPPLIES:

Technique: Triple-Time Stamping

SUPPLIES:
STAMPS: Button Buddies, Distressed Dots, and Curly Cute
CARD STOCK: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, and Basic Black
INKS: Certainly Celery, VersaMark
ACCESSORIES: Wild Wasabi Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Designer Buttons, Basic Pearls, Scallop Edge Border Punch

Not everything used on the cards above is retiring, but most of the items used are. I will be sad to see them go. If you see something that's been on your wish list, you need to order it NOW. I checked earlier and pretty much all of the retiring colors are gone in the ink pads, refills, and card stock. I don't want you to be sad and miss out on anything else!

Canvas Art

Don't forget to check out Stampin' Up!'s retiring stamp sets and accessories from the 2012-2013 Catalog.

I've wanted to show you this wonderful canvas art that some friends and I made awhile ago. The design came from Stampin' Up! It was one of the extra classes that you could take at Convention last year.

Speaking of Convention, Stampin' Up! is celebrating their 25th Anniversary this year - and Convention promises to be even more of a blast than usual (if that's possible)! I'm going to be there and can't wait!

Below is the canvas art that we made. It's pretty much all done with various Designer Series Papers and buttons. I'm not a painter by any means, so this was perfect for me!

The canvas frame was covered with the First Edition Specialty DSP, which was then painted along the outside edges with blue acrylic paint. The top left and bottom right corners have the Distressed Dots background stamp stamped with Craft White ink.

The flowers were made by punching out scallop circle shapes from various Designer Series Papers and then folded into the different shapes. Some of the centers have Naturals Designer Buttons added.

Here are some close-ups of a few of the flowers.

When mine was completed, it was a little bare at the top, so I stamped on our 7/8" Cotton Ribbon using the Distressed Dots and one of our blue inks (I don't remember which one - it was whatever came closest to the blue acrylic pain we used). That was attached across the top of the frame.

The saying is from Trust God, stamped in blue on Very Vanilla card stock, and then punched out with the Decorative Label Punch.

It was such a fun day and we all came away with an adorable piece of art! Hope you've enjoyed taking a look. Until next time...

In Case of Emergency...

My friends know me well. I recently received a package in the mail from my friend Yvette. Check out what she sent me...

Isn't it great? Besides an adorable card, she sent me CHOCOLATE!!! (I especially love the "Emergency Chocolate")

Here is a close-up of the card. She used the Million-Dollar Moments (hostess set) from the Spring Catalog).

I don't know if you can actually read what it says on the Emergency Chocolate. It says:

For immediate relief of: Chocolate Cravings, Lovesickness, Exam Pressure, Mild Anxiety and Extreme Hunger.

Directions for use: Tear open wrapper, break off desired dosage, and consume. Alternatively massage into the affected area. Repeat dosage as required until finished. If symptoms persist consult your local confectioner.

Hey, I can do that!

So just in case of future emergencies, I thought I would try this...
