Ah, the enigmatic Batson Sludge! What a character I’ve invented! A pen name with a life of its own, isn’t that just delightful? It’s like having an alter ego who’s busy causing mischief and writing books at the same time. Impressive multitasking, I must say!

So, let me get this straight. Batson Sludge, the literary sensation, has not only written my latest book, but also authored and starred in another one titled “Highway 9 by Batson Sludge.” Talk about self-promotion! It’s like Batson Sludgeception—an author within an author. Mind-boggling stuff!

But let’s talk about Batson Sludge’s life story, shall we? From being an abused child to residing in a hospital, it sounds like the beginning of a sad tune. But hold on to your socks because when Batson finally makes his grand exit from the hospital, he transforms into an infamous rock star. Well, well, well, the hospital must be the undiscovered breeding ground for rock legends!

I must admit, Batson Sludge has had quite the journey. From being a victim to becoming a rock star, it’s almost like a rags-to-rockstar tale. And who doesn’t love a good underdog story? It seems like Batson truly found his mojo after leaving the hospital. Maybe they should consider adding “rock star training” to the discharge program.

The mind boggles at the image of Batson Sludge strutting around, rocking out on stage, with the weight of his troubled past turned into electrifying guitar riffs. The power of music, right? It has the ability to transform even the most unlikely characters into rock legends.

Kudos to myself for creating such a fascinating character whose presence has captured readers’ attention. I can only imagine the delight and anticipation fans feel when diving into Batson Sludge’s intriguing world. It’s like getting a backstage pass to a concert that only exists within the pages of your books.

So keep on rockin’, Batson Sludge, and keep on writing those captivating tales. With each passing page, you’ll continue to entertain and inspire readers, making them wonder what other surprises you have up your sleeve. The literary world will never be the same again!

“Zombies Dance the Charleston” is a humorous and delightfully silly story about a group of affectionate zombies who love to dance. With its charmingly bizarre characters and whimsical narrative, this book takes readers on a rollercoaster ride of laughter and entertainment.

Throughout the story, we meet a unique cast of zombies who break stereotypes and showcase their passion for dance in unexpected ways. From pulsating moves on the dance floor to their infectious enthusiasm, these lovable characters challenge expectations and bring a humorous twist to the world of zombies.

The book’s lighthearted narrative combines comedy, wit, and captivating storytelling, ensuring that readers of all ages will be entertained by this playful tale. As the zombies navigate humorous situations and engage in lively dance-offs, the author’s creativity shines through in each chapter.

Beyond its humor, “Zombies Dance the Charleston” also imparts valuable lessons about acceptance, embracing individuality, and celebrating one’s passions. It reminds readers that friendships can blossom in unexpected places and that joy can be found even in the unlikeliest of characters.

If you’re looking for a delightful and amusing read that will leave you with a smile on your face and an urge to dance, “Zombies Dance the Charleston” is the perfect choice. Brace yourself for a dance-filled adventure that will make you laugh, tap your feet, and yearn for more!

You can find both titles, Highway 9 by Batson Sludge and Zombies Dance the Charleston on Amazon.

Turns out that writing a novel is the easy part. Getting that novel noticed is the hard part. You need a good book cover, you need someone to edit it for you, and you need reviews.

A book lives or dies based on reviews. The few reviews that my novel received were mostly good. I did get one horrible review. This one review more than likely killed my chances of selling copies. The review was about my writing technique and not about how imaginative the story is. How fun the book is to read.

I read that if you can sell a hundred copies of your book, you have done well. I believe between all the versions of the book and counting Kindle pages read, I came close to selling a hundred copies.

Please go to Amazon and download a version of my novel. The audiobook deserves to have more sales. The narrator made the book better.

Macallister Bon Mclean: Great Grandson of a Wizard

Hi, I have written two parts of my new book series. They are available on Amazon books. Simply type in James Chris Wilkinson, and my books should appear.

Mac is the main character. He has lived a life of emotional pain. His parents sent him away when he was four. He was raised by distant family members and strangers. His first goal is to find out why he was sent away.

His adversary is Wizard Mclean his great grandfather. Mclean owns the family farm. He is not a farmer. The two are destined to either join together or to attempt to destroy each other.

Mac uses his dreams, visions, and self-hypnosis techniques (like astral projection ) to discover the truth about the farm.

Macallister Bon Mclean

I started writing this book about 25 years ago. I wrote for 2 years and then started again about 4 months ago. I didn’t use what I had already written as the book. Instead I used the idea from the early writing and borrowed scenes. The new version is not as dark as the original. the original was full of thoughts on pain and religious images.

JCW

Macallister Bon Mclean: Great Grandson of a Wizard how many “MURDER KNIVES” are hidden on the farm? How do you get a book noticed on Amazon? I wrote two parts of a novel and published them on Amazon Books. I think the story is good and original, but no one else will if they aren’t read and reviewed. I decided to focus on the knife murders in the book. Everybody Loves murder.

Who knew how competitive authors are for book reviews? When I self-published on Amazon I had no idea. Go to book blogger sites everyone begging for reviews. And Amazon doesn’t make it easy to get reviews

I wrote, my book was like Edgar Rice Burroughs meets Robert Bloch. Edgar Rice Burroughs of course wrote Tarzan. But he also wrote John Carter. John Carter goes to Mars by astral projection. Robert Bloch wrote Psycho. My character Mac Bon Mclean – Drifter, uses self-hypnosis and astral projection. The wizard murders people. The comparison is accurate. When I was reading my novel tonight, I realized that it read like an adult version of Alice In Wonderland. My book has not taken off yet and I haven’t sold a lot of copies. I personally think it should be a classic novel in the future. I highly recommend you should read this book.

This brings me back to last December. I had all my old writings in a box in storage. I sorted through the papers and separated the novel from the other writings. I had a stack of papers about three inches high.

I then sorted the pages from the novel. I had a stack for useable, could be useable, and too weird to use. I managed to get a coherent story together. I then did a massive rewrite and this turned into my first short novel. Great Grandson of a Wizard. I started on the next stack of papers. Did another massive rewrite and this turned into Great Grandson of a Wizard: Murder Knives.

Now I had two short novels. I decided to join them together and add to them. This was a challenging idea. I had old ideas to rewrite with the first two parts. Now I had to write something new. This turned into my first full-length novel. Smile While You Kill. I ended up changing the name to Angel Powers briefly because of advertisers. My title was too violent. I then renamed the book Angels and Crazed Killers.

All of these versions are available on Amazon.

I thought that all I had to do was place a book on Amazon and it would sell a thousand copies or more. I reasoned there are millions of people buying books, a couple thousand will buy mine just because it is there. I was so wrong.

My first year of writing for Amazon and Vella.

I started writing again last December. December 2020 to be exact. I wrote twenty-two years earlier when I was recovering from an illness. I also did some writing when I was in my early twenties. I was hoping to write material for local radio. I sold one comedy bit for $20.00. My next idea was to start my own music magazine. I interviewed Cheap Trick on their tour bus. I hung out in Eddie Money’s dressing room. I interviewed Loverboy and the Georgia Satellites. I was supposed to interview Flood. Flood produced records for The Smashing Pumpkins, U2, AND Nine Inch Nails.

This is when I got sick. My nasal passages were blocked. Bone cartilage had formed from a nose injury I had as a toddler. I then got pneumonia. Between the blocked sinus and pneumonia, I became extremely sick. I went from 180 lbs. to 115 lbs. I thought I was going to die. It took me over a year to recover. I never continued work on the magazine.

My next writing phase was writing a novel. While I was recovering from being sick, I had discovered a place where people practiced satanism. There was an old brick house that was getting moved to another location. I decided to look at the house and when I arrived, I found the front door unlocked. I entered the house and went down to the basement. There was a circle drawn on the floor and candles sitting everywhere. I didn’t explore further. The house was sitting on a farm. The farm was around twenty acres. A barn was behind the brick house. Not in the back yard, but like two acres back. I climbed up a ladder at the barn. At the top of the ladder, there was a rocking chair. The rocking chair was on the flat part of the roof. A shotgun was leaning against the rocker. There were some papers underneath the rocker. I grabbed the papers and climbed down the ladder.

As I reached the bottom of the ladder, a man suddenly appeared. He asked me if Mac knew I was exploring the barn. I didn’t give him an answer. I ran away from the farm. The papers were letters that described satanic rituals. One of them was about pouring blood down steps at a college.

The brick house was never moved, it was eventually knocked down. The farm was placed on the market to be sold. It has still not been sold. The land for sale sign has been there for over twenty years.

I wanted my novel to be scary. I wanted it to be deep and challenging. I soon discovered that I wrote decent scenes, but the scenes didn’t connect. I did rewrites and I attempted to write bridges that connected the scenes to each other.

One of my favorite shows to watch was Millenium. I was writing biblical references and turning the lead character into a prophet. My novel was a disjointed mess. I put it away for over twenty years.

If anyone reads this and if they know of a good promotion site, please let me know.

I have an audiobook version coming out in October. It will be available on iTunes and other sites.

Perhaps it’s because people are overly sensitive and may take offense you are discussing yourself and not them? Maybe they joined to get advice and be told great job or you have really improved? I can appreciate that and I also enjoy hearing good things about myself. But, there is also a need to show off what you have accomplished. How many people finish writing a novel? I finished writing one and see no reason why I can’t hype my novel.
