Happy Valentine’s Day, patrons! On this romantic* edition of JD’s, Dan Nikolits, Lindsey Wahowiak and Security Stephen Dix share their tales of romance gone awry. In addition, there’s discussion of the importance of font size, the importance of knowing Sam Jackson is NOT Laurence Fishbourne, the importance of not publishing your terrible poetry (especially when you’re famous) and the importance of not using too much hairspray before getting behind the wheel. All in all, there’s a lot of important stuff going on.

Plus: a discussion of which celebrities (allegedly) smell bad, a Valentine’s/Traverse City themed cocktail and a Comment Card asking to pump up the jam.

It may be fall, but the folks at JD’s Cocktail Lounge have the beach on their minds this week, albeit a beach filled with dangerous nuclear fallout. The fellas discuss cell phone table etiquette, the trench warfare mentality of online dating, how Jordan can’t open a peanut and Dave’s transformation into Joe Dirt. In addition, Guinness Book of World Record attempts are almost always not worth pursuing, “Gravity” is okay and Netflix and a certain epic Greek poem have a lot in common.

FROM THE ASHES OF A PHOENIX WITHOUT GOOD EXCUSES, JD’S COCKTAIL LOUNGE IS BACK. This episode was recorded quite a while ago, but got lost in the shuffle of so, so many things. While Dave and Jordan have taped a new one, they wanted to get this up for your ears…it ain’t timely, but hopefully it’s still entertaining.

SO….in a salute to FATHER’S DAY (yes…yes, we know), JD’s Correspondent Lindsey Wahowiak talks about how her dad is a secret feminist and getting mid-Michigan’s biggest religious zealot to support the Vagina Monologues, while Dave discusses his dad’s 180 on his most sturdy piece of advice and Jordan documents his return to the mythic land of Ruby Tuesday’s. In addition, there’s talk of an Isakson wedding (not Dave’s), using geography as a pickup line, “Girls - Season 38” and Jordan’s greatest fear when communicating with others.
