Long Overdue

As the title suggests, it has truly been a very long time, I hope everyone is well and everyone is enjoying their long weekend. I have gone out so much but have failed miserably when it comes to taking pictures, but I said that this time I shall definitely take pictures I had to make sure.

I've been looking for a red dress for such a long time and I finally set my sights on this one and I really like it and I hope you guys will like it as much as I do. The pictures do not give it justice, the material is thin but thick and soft enough to adjust and feel comfortable. The back is what sold it to me though, it's what I call effortly simple yet beautiful

FOTN and OOTN - Christmas Day

This is my first face of the night/day (FOTN/D) and I've seen many people do this but I wouldn't be able to do FOTN very often because I simply don't wear make up a lot lol. If you guys want me to do it then I will, just let me know by leaving a comment.

I left it simple at the top with exception of the lashes but I went all out on the lipstick with a bright red. The red lipstick isn't as bright as the picture shows it's more of a deeper red but I had the flash on so it looks a little washed out but it was still fabulous.

Another outfit of the night, I've had this dress for a year and its never been worn only because I didn't like the way it looked on me. I was debating whether to wear this to my work christmas party or the dress that I actually wore (check post here) which I preferred anyway.

I had reservations about this sequin number because it's backless at the back which I didn't like to be honest but the rest of the dress was really nice. I was looking for something like this for ages, I actually wanted the french connection one which I was so close to getting but my size was sold out unfortunately. Thankfully, though I stumbled across this one which drew my eye because it was much cheaper than the French Connection dress.

I enjoyed wearing it actually and I wore it with a blazer unfortunately I didn't take a picture with it though. The first picture with my sister was before our 5 hour cooking spree and the last picture is just before I changed so apologies for looking so tired.

Hi guys just a quick post I thought I would share what I wore for my work Christmas party. I bought this dress two years ago and I could count on one hand how many times I've worn this it.

So I thought its about time this dress made an appearance I teamed it up with a black blazer and J. C. inspired Litas. I dressed down the rest of the outfit because I wanted the dress and my nails to stand out.

There are parts where my hair is curly and others where it's not because I didn't know which one to go for but I ended up going for the curly one instead because I don't wear my hair curly very often. As well as a red lip which brought out the colour of my blush.

Sparkles all night long

Hi guys, nail post of the night I thought I would show you guys a glittery look to hopefully inspire you for christmas and new years. Unfortunetly, I didn't take pictures of the nail polish because I was out but I used OPI nail polish in Joy and Miss Sporty sparkle polish which didn't have a name to add a beautiful effect.

TIP: if you are going to try this, you have to wait for the nail polish to dry for 5 minutes to make sure it doesn't smudge then apply the sparkle polish or you could just sprinkle glitter.

I added another purple polish on top to draw a line I used an Art Deco nail art polish which you could use to add designs if you wish.

It's all about 'red' baby

Well I am so happy to finally have a chance to blog here if you follow me on twitter you know the reason why I've been absent for a bit. Here we have a nail polish which I've had on before and absolutely love, it's Barry M's bright red. The red isn't bright personally but its vibrant red which would look fabulous at a christmas party. It's a perfect red colour in my opinion.

However, although I may love the colour the polish is quite thin for me and I had to apply three layers on and still felt as though I should have applied more. As I have most Barry M nail polishes I've realised that the nail polishes range in texture and consistency some are thicker than others so it just depends on your taste and how you like your polishes.

Of course guys feel free to let me know if you have tried this colour before and also I was thinking of doing some christmas nail polish ideas and designs so if you guys would like to see that please let me know below. I was going to try and do one for every week in december, emphasis on the try lol but we would just see how it goes so let me know as soon as possible and if you have any ideas of specific things you want me to do.

Welcome back guys to another post and I hope everyone enjoyed Bonfire Night because I surely did and I took some pictures to show you guys on what I wore on saturday. Knitwear is obviously in for autumn and so is knitwear skirts which you guys have probably seen in most commercial stores and I found this aztec knitwear skirt and I knew I had to get it. I fell in love with this skirt straight away and didn't hesitate and it is definitely in my favourite purchases of the new season. I paired them with some black wedges from peacocks and my Zara blazer.

Haulage

Hi guys, this is the first time I've done a haul (things I've bought) so I thought seen as I've bought a few things in the last few weeks I thought I would share it with you guys. There are still a few things to come and a few things I need to buy but I will update you guys and do another haul post if you guys want to see them, let me know.

My Zara Blazer

I have been on the hunt for a cobalt blue blazer and I finally found one and I absolutely love it. The material and style is exactly what I wanted and I'm so glad I found it, I forgot how much I bought it for but its was really cheap because I found it on ebay. In the past year I have collected varies colours of blazers and I have 5 blazers at the moment and I will be getting 3 more hopefully to complete this collection. Blazers are ideal to throw on and just go either to dress up or down an outfit.

The Accessories

On one of my trips to the shops I stopped by Primark and decided to top up on some jewellery and this is what I bought. I bought three pairs of earrings and one ring, I am addicted to rings and not only do I collect blazers but I also collect rings and I have too many to count off the top of my head. But, if you guys would like me to show them please let me know. There seems to be an Egyptian and tribal theme in Primark (both a trends) at the moment with a range of colours and I definitely think it's worth having a look. All jewellery were under £10.

The bag and the fedora hat

I've wanted to buy a fedora hat for some time now and I finally found a reasonably priced hat in Primark for £6 and I love it. There were 3 colours purple and I forgot the other colour and black which is what I bought, because it's versatile and will go with anything in any season. I haven't got many hats the hats I have are either beret or beanie for the winter months really but never really thought I would wear or buy a winter hat but I'm embracing the change. The coral bag is lovely also, to be honest I bought it for the colour, I love the colour because it will bring a pop of colour to a dull outfit such as all black which I tend to wear when I don't feel like 'dressing up' then I add this bag and it looks amazing. The bag was £8 I believe.

The knitwear

We all know autumn is here so that means it's time to take out or buy some knitwear. I love buying knitwear it brings a certain satisfaction that I can't explain, I love buying chunky scarves, hats, caridigans you name it I love anything chunky and I doesn't stop here either. These are the cardigans I've bought recently the first is from Peacocks and the other two are from Ebay (the middle cardigan is vintage), and I can't wait to style it in an outfit and show you guys. The gold detailing on the red cardigan is so lovely and I purposely bought it on the larger side because I wanted a boyfriend fit.

This cardigan is versatile because you are able to wear it as a jumper as well as a cardigan and add a chunky hat and scarf and your good to go.

The brown cardigan which I've had for a while is one of my favourite purchases so far as its so warm and so far I haven't seen it on anyone (yet) and to make it even better its got a batwing arm to it and its oversized too so it is easy to layer it.

Hello guys and welcome back to a new installment of 'Nail Polish of the Week'. I really needed to cut my nails because as you can see from my last post here they were really long so I took this opportunity to paint them too.

I've had this nail polish for such a long time, this was probably one of my first nail polishes form Barry M. This weeks polish is indeed from Barry M, called 'Bright Purple' and this is a great dupe for Rimmel London's, 'Plum Seduction' which I blogged about here with a flash.

The colour is amazing as all the nail polishes I've used from Barry M, they have great lasting power and are creamy enough for them to glide on the nail and not look streaky. This colour looks great for the autumn/fall season too as dark pinks, reds, berry, greens and browns but also if you just want to add a little bit of colour to your outfit, what ever the weather lol

I bought this from Superdrug (I think) but check online here to see were your nearest Barry M counter is. I hope you guys enjoy the pictures. A Touch of Jade

Hello everyone, I thought I would do a nail post and this is something I came up with and it might seem a little intricate but its really simple and easy to do in 10 minutes. I bought a few nail foils and I have wanted to do something with them for ages but instead opted for just plain nail varnish instead.

However, this time I thought why not, this design is called african jade and it brings a little glamour to a plain nail varnish such as Barry M's blueberry which I used below. This design would look nice during christmas parties or any party when you want to add something unique and different.

Unfortunately, I can't remember where I bought the nail foil from but they are fairly easy to come by these days in places such as Boots and Superdrug.

'Fit and Flare' for any Occasion

The style and fashion from the 1950's continue to still influence the high street and designers in the 21st century. There has been a revival of interest in this decade which promotes elegance and sophistication with pieces and I below I have pictures comparing styles and hairstyles that have been transformed and been reinvented in this era. Also, below is my adaptation of the 1950's fashion and hairstyle, I hope you guys enjoy and let me know what you think.

1950's Hairstyles

Hairstyles in the 1950's consisted of soft flicks and wavy loose curls which represented the glamours culture of hollywood and in that decade. Today we still see the influence of such hairstyles from that decade with stars such as Katy Perry rocking her glamorous look matched with a red lipstick. Quite 'pin-up' too.

1950's Fashion - Pencil Skirt

The pencil skirt has been and will always be in fashion as far as I'm concerned because it is such an easy way to dress up and look sophisticated without much effort. So we can see from both pictures that there isn't much to change or has changed since the 1950s because it's a classic, except the fabric used today are varied and you have more to choose from.

1950's Fashion - Shirtwaist Dress/Fit and Flare

This is absolutely my favorite piece from the 1950's, the 'fit and flare' dress where it shows off the feminine curves and brings out the best in your figure. The dress became very popular in the 1950's and was typically buttoned down from the top and then turned into a full skirt from the hip and went all the way past the knee caps. These dresses came in short sleeves and no sleeves to cater for the day and you could pair this with heels and a cardigan for the night.

I wanted to buy a few new nail polish for ages but I haven't seen anything that I liked and also I cleared out the whole collection of nail polishes of Barry M. Nuts I know but it's true. Then, after walking past the counters for the tenth time I stubbled across this nail polish which is stunning.

This colour is by Revlon called Peachy and is part of their 'Top Speed' collection. The colour is stunning it's a coral colour which would suit those who have a summer tan because it brings out the warmth in their skin. I have purchased other Revlon nail polishes before and I've always been a fan, however with this nail polish the first one I have purchased in this collection, I found that it dried too quickly while I was still applying it.

The colour is stunning but in order for me to make it look presentable I have to apply it really quickly and whilst you could possibly get away with no top coat on other nail polishes (which you shouldn't anyway) with this nail polish I strongly recommend that a good top coat is applied to smooth out the streaks left by the quick drying process.

Nonetheless, I would like to get the other colours in this collection but I would have to love the colour a lot to purchase it otherwise I wouldn't buy it knowing how it works. I don't remember how much I purchased it for but I think it was £4.49 in Superdrug.

I applied this polish on friday and I'm just taking the pictures today and it has chipped in certain areas. I hope you enjoy it below

It's not just any blue; It's Mavala Cyclades Blue

I seem to be leaving years and years between posts and I am so sorry guys I've been feeling very distant with my blog concerning what exactly I want to do. This all started when I got back from my holiday but don't worry guys I will still upload and I'm starting to get back into both twitter and blog.

On a positive note, this is a 'Nail Polish of the week' I missed out last week because I didn't have anything exciting on, but I thought I would try Mavala's nail polish in 'Cyclades Blue'. I have to say this is a beautiful colour and I've had so many comments on it from guys and girls alike. This polish applies very nicely and it's thicker than the polish I previously tried from the same company and I prefer this colour anyway. The blue is more of an indigo blue rather than a sky blue like the pictures suggest.

The colour has lasted a while too, I've had this on since last week and these pictures were taken today (Monday 15th) so you can see that there has been no sign of wear and the colour hasn't faded either. This colour is beautiful guys and it's definitely worth a try remember they are the same price if not less then the Barry M polishes the mini versions anyway. I'm on a blue nail polish craze at the moment too.

'Mavala' in the Greatness

Hello guys, well it has been a very long time since I blogged for varies reasons such as holiday and other commitments. Fortunately though, I'm back and with a 'Nail polish of the week' and I am introducing to you guys a fairly undiscovered brand called 'Mavala'. I wanted to move away from Barry M, Rimmel and Revlon as much as I love them (and I will still use them) but I wanted to broaden my nail polish drawer.

I came across Mavala while searching for new nail polish ideas and designs and this brand cropped up so I went on there website to discover more. I immediately loved the colours but thought this must be expensive but I was indeed wrong. I think I found Mavala at the best time as they have brought out new colours for their 'Pop Art' effect for 2011 nice vibrant colours and lipsticks to go with it (unfortunately I didn't get any) which I will get and take pictures to show you guys. Check below for the new nail polishes

I wanted to find something that is as good as Barry M in terms of staying power, opaqueness and most importantly at a good price. I believe that Mavala is definitely a brand name to watch out for and I will be featuring more on my blog. Stay tuned.

Look Good for Less - Maxi Dresses

Hi guys, welcome back to another addition to 'Look Good for Less', this time it's for Maxi Dresses. Maxi dresses are literally everywhere and they will always be 'in fashion' spring, summer, autumn and winter that's why they are so popular. I have found a few bargains and some where you could splurge and get if you feel like to. There are so many that I could have filled my whole blog with them but the dresses below all include where you could get them and how much.

Below we have two dresses from Boohoo, I think boohoo is a great place to go if you want to add some essentials at affordable prices. You could definitely get yourself a bargain here. The dress on the left has a really nice tie at the front for extra security and the dress on the right has fab detailing on the back to spice up a simple black dress. At a bargain price get your own at £10 each.

Another place where you could get yourself a bargain is Peacocks at £20, which is where the dress on the left is from. The details on both dresses are really nice so if you're looking for a boob tube dress to avoid those tan lines these would be a nice option. The dress on the right is from George at Asda, yes George at Asda head to your nearest Asda's for a mega bargain of £12.50.

The dress on the left hand side I thought would look really nice with an oversized hat like this one and gladiator sandals. This dress is from Evans and the other dress on the right is from Marisota and both cater for larger size ladies so you could look amazing in the sun. Unfortunately both dresses are rather expensive in my opinion but still nice nonetheless the Evans dress is £45 and the Marisota dress is £36.

These two dresses are for those who love florals, they are in this season so why not. The first dress has straps which crosses at the back I believe and tightens on the waist line and the dress on the right has beautiful floral designs in a boob tube style. Both dresses retail at £25 the first dress is from Peacocks and the other is from Boohoo.

I absolutely love these dresses very summery yet elegeant at the same time. I love the coral colour on this Miss Selfridge dress, also available in green and the Peacocks dress lets you show enough cleavage even for those conservative ones. The Miss Selfridge dress incorporates three trends this summer sheer, coral and maxi dress, you could have all of that in one dress for £45. Expensive you say, yes I agree but you should try and find something in this style in Primark, either way it's a hot dress. The Peacocks dress is hot also at £40.

I thought I would add a similar section just to show you guys that you could probably find the same style of outfit in more than one place. So below are two dresses both very similar the only difference is that the one on the left from Miss Selfridge is £50 and the other from Prodigyred is £20. Take your pick and look fabulous this summer

I get inspired by many people and I got inspired by this blog recently 'A Pair and a Spare'. I think she is amazing and she makes it look so easy too. She has definitely inspired me to do more diy projects of my own which I will share with you guys of course. Sheer clothing is in this summer so I decided on a sheer skirt because they cost too much in stores. So, I thought I would make it instead and I'm really proud of it. I hope you guys like it.

Glitz and Glamour, it's all over, White?

I feel like I haven't done a 'Nail Polish of the week' for ages but really I think it has only been 2 weeks. The reason for this is if you don't follow me on twitter I said it's because I was giving my nails a break, I also done a treatment on them too. I could definitely see the difference when applying polish this week.

So, back to what the post is actually about, I was recently in Brick Lane, London which is predominately an Asian area full of colours and glitter. Not only is it good for a good curry but the artwork is also inspiring too, the colours which I saw were mainly whites, pinks, reds, greens and golds. Those colours are indeed incorporated in this weeks 'Nail Polish of the week', I just couldn't resist.

Look Good for Less - Statement Shoes

I have started a 'Look Good for Less' series as everyone is shopping for holidays and would just like to buy affordable things. Everyone likes a bargain.

I wanted to show you guys these heels because I find them very peculiar but fabulous all at the same time. I'm talking about statement shoes, you would presume that you would only see them on catwalks and high fashion photo shoots. However, for this summer season you will actually see them on the high street and in low to high end online stores. These are just a few to show you guys how and where you could get statement shoes and incorporate them in your wardrobe for all year round fashion.

The first 4 are affordable but the others can be seen as an investment.

This first one is from Asos, it might look really high but just remember there is a platform too. So, it should be comfortable to walk in and wear for those endless nights out. If I was to wear this I would keep it simple at the top and make this the standout item that you wear to make it the focus. This shoe comes in green, purple and nude.

This heel people are either going to love it or hate it either way it's a statement. This is from Schuh its available in red too.

These are a little bit more wearable than the previous one but still have a statement feel to them. They are available in Nude, Black, Red and Yellow and you could get them at Schuh

Now these are what you would see J-Lo in lol they will definitely bring spice to any outfit. Together with the platform and high heel this is screaming 'Statement' and you could get this at Asos

Totally Blocked it

As we all know colour blocking is the trend for spring and summer but a lot of us find it rather hard to wear bright clothing. Whereby, it be a bright green jacket, bright pink jeans, or bright blue shoes it could seem quite daunting; I totally understand. However, I've never seem this type of colour blocking or should I say colour blocking on this part of the body; no it's not there.

'Peach Melba, such a Grey Matter'

Hey guys, welcome back for the forth installment of 'Nail Polish of the week'. The colour today is Barry M's Peach Melba and Rimmel London's Grey Matter. I was inspired by a blog which had black on black nail polish but unfortunately forgot who it was sorry. Though, I paint my nails often at least once a week it's hard to bring something new and inspiring for you guys. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy it.

'To die for heels or heels i'd die in?'

Hiya guys, I thought I would do something different in comparison to my previous posts. I what your thoughts on these heels hopefully commenting is back up and running again if not tweet me and let me know (kay_411).

These heels are from Kurt Geiger Carvela and they have 5 or 6 inch heels with a hidden 1 inch platform. The unusual heel made me go for it I couldn't resist and they look FABULOUS on. I know they probably look hard to walk in but I found them comfortable to walk in.

However, I have only worn them once because I don't find them versatile enough (and because I have many pairs of shoes). You do have to be careful what you wear these with because they could easily look very 'un-ladylike'. Unfortunately, not suitable for a glamorous occasion in my opinion.

Are these heels scary enough for you to think you would probably die trying to walk in them or heels to make people jealous? Putting all that aside, are these 'To die for heels or heels i'd die in?'Let me know what you think.

'I've cracked it, Beige Style'

Hi guys, here it is the new installment of 'Nail Polish of the week' - part 3, this time it's another Barry M product but with a twist. The bottom colour is Rimmel London pro - in Beige style and the Barry M nail effect nail polish in black. I bought this in Superdrug while they were having a 2 for £5 on Barry M nail polishes. The Rimmel London nail polish was purchased a while ago but should still be available in any drugstore. I hope you guys enjoy
