Jeffrey Appling placed First in the Ring division, First (tied) in the earring division, and Second (tied) in the Pendant/Necklace division. Appling honored in Las Vegas

Jewelry designer Jeffrey Appling of Palm Springs placed as a finalist for the 2007 Saul Bell Design Award competition for jewelry design. Both the designer and his design were honored in Las Vegas during The JCK Show--Las Vegas, June 2nd. Jeffrey received a certificate from Rio Grande for being a finalist in the Gold/Platinum category for this international design competition. The honored ring consists of hand engraved Platinum borders with a faceted Black and a faceted White Pearl protruding through the shoulders. Tsavorite Garnet and Pink Sapphires are pave set around the pearls. The inside of the ring was created to acurately fit the human finger. Appling places first in design competition

Jewelry Designer Jeffrey Appling won first place in the Saul Bell Design Award competition (2006). Appling and his award winning ring "Hands to Water" were honored at the JCK Show in Las Vegas. The award has helped put Palm Springs on the map as a desitation for Inovative Jewelry Design. The award winning ring contains a flawless, 23.80 carat Aquamarine, hand-cut with "optical dishes" to resemble bubbles in water. Pave set color enhanced blue Diamonds and near colorless Diamonds were used to enhance a water flowing effect. Appling credits specific Science Fiction Films as a major influence upon the rings conception.
