Etsy Treasury

2011-09-18T10:00:00.000-05:00

This morning as I was viewing my Etsy "favorites", I noticed that I have been drawn to collecting baby blue. They looked so nice together, that putting them together in a treasury collection was a given.

Pennsylvania Garden Wedding Purses

2011-08-30T11:07:00.000-05:00

Good Morning! I just finished the cutest purses for a garden wedding in Pine Grove Mills, PA. Can't wait to see her pictures. Thanks Jessica!

Grass Roots

2011-08-19T13:07:00.000-05:00

How, in all the 17 years of living in this area, did I possibly miss this treasure?!? My dear friend, Trish, asked me to do her a favor by driving her to her workplace, when in fact, she did ME the favor. What a treat! Grass Roots in Ottertail County is filled with the unexpected. It is what you would call (or I would call) "Beautiful Chaos". I came home with a small collection of produce, so I am doubly rewarded by this visit.

Wedding Party Set~ finished!!

So fun!

2011-07-03T10:06:00.002-05:00

Today I was presented with my first award. Actually, I didn't know anything like this existed, but I am excited to receive. To Lana Koopman of My Design, My Life , thank you so very much for your recognition.

According to the rules of this sweet award, my acceptance speech must include:

seven random facts about myself
a thank you to the person who nominated me with a link to their blog
passing on the award to at least eight other bloggy pals

Ok, here goes:

Seven random facts about me:
1. I am a super taster/smeller. Chances are I can figure out ingredients in a recipe upon taste. If I smell someones perfume and find out the name, I probably will never forget it (the smell or the name). I recently was able to fulfill a dream of creating my own perfume in Grasse, France, the perfume capital of the world. It doesn't smell very good. Haha
2. My dream job would be to be an event decorator and have a creative partner to fuel eachothers creative energies.
3. I take forever to tell a story and tend to go off on tangents.
4. Pet peaves...... dog's riding on a driver's lap, kids not in backseat, towels not folded neatly, kid's saying "like" all the time.
5. I cherish my longgggg walks with my daughter. (wish my other daughter would join us in the fun)
6. I have a 83lb Goldendoodle that puts a smile on my face even when I don't always feel like smiling.
7. I'm known for my mint juleps and have an amazing porch perfect for drinking them on. However, I have just discovered how to create the BEST Pineapple/Basil/Mojito and I may be posting a tutorial very soon. Delish!!!!

Now I am passing the award on to: (in no particular order)

1. Keren of freeprettythingsforyou - She has the most darling selection of FREE vintage image/clip art, has awesome giveaways, pretty diy crafts, party planning ideas and is super sweet with advice to help out the new blogger ;).

2. Susan of Mapleandmagnolia - decorator extraordinaire!!! Holy smokes! This women accomplishes more in one day than I can in a year. She has an incredible eye for design and recently purchased a new farmhouse that already looks as if she has had it for years. Amazing before and afters. I am addicted to her site.
3. Anders Ruff of FabulousFeaturesbyAndersRuffCustomDesigns - Showcases the most incredibly decorated parties and printable accessories. So creative and inspiring.
4. Beth of PatinaWhite - her site was my first exposure into the blog world. She amazes me with her eye for finding beauty in JUNK. She has incredible eye for fashion, decorating, and is so darn clever with her creations.
5. Lisa of LisaLeonardDesigns -her jewelry designs are so personal, her eye for creative photojournalism is touching, and her writing touches my soul. She is everyone's sweetheart.
6. Cindy of MyRomanticHome - if it weren't for the men in my life, i would LOVE to decorated like Cindy. Her style is so perfectly feminine and pretty. She is such an inspiring independant woman.
7. Courtney of pizzazzerie - everything you could ever desire in entertaining ideas. This site has it all!
8. Tina of CherryHillCottage - of all the blogs I follow, I have been the most inspired by this one. Tina's taste is closest to mine (or at least.... how I WISH mine was!). I love all her ideas and wish I could borrow her for one day to work her magic in my home.

Quilts of a Different Color

2011-07-02T13:06:00.001-05:00

A couple of new quilts posted onto my etsy page. These were published in Irena Bluhm's book "Quilts of a Different Color". The technique involves hand-coloring the quilting in with colored pencils and sealing with a textile medium. I can tell you that the top quilt (partially pictured) took over 60 hours just to complete the coloring process.

If I don't get a chance to Blog before the weekend.... Have a happy and safe 4th of July. Grace and Blessings to you all.

4 Etsy Treasury features in 1 day

2011-06-29T18:27:00.001-05:00

These past few days I have been so busy trying to get stuff posted onto Etsy. Apparently, some others are finding them-which is good!!! I've been featured in the following treasuries. What a wonderful group of compiled items.

Monkey in the Orchard
Children's Fourth of July
Oh Honey, Let's Have a Picnic
Cherries!

Take a look at all the fun things these Etsy sellers have rounded up for summer fun!!!

Vibrant Colors Quilt

2011-06-28T10:59:00.001-05:00

I love to come up with quilt designs. However, I'm not too good about writing instructions. Maybe someday. This is one of the quilts I pieced this summer. It had a matching counterpart that was a twin size, but that is now home to a new graduate. Of course, I'm kicking myself that i didn't take any pictures.

It has been my goal to utilize the fabric I already own. I am proud to say that both of the quilts required NO PURCHASING of fabrics!!!!!

This quilt is available for sale on my etsy site: www.jeanamichelle.etsy.com

Attack of the Dog... COLLARS!!!!!!

2011-06-27T15:53:00.002-05:00

This is my excuse!!!!!!! Believe it or not, this is just a small sampling of the multiple dog collars I have been making. I have to admit, its rather addicting to create these beauties. It also makes me want to have another dog. I don't think my husband would appreciate our dog, Hansel, walking around in a daisy embellished accessory. Hopefully, I can get back to business and back to blogging now that I've built up quite the inventory of these. Please visit my etsy page for purchasing. http://www.jeanamichelle.etsy.com/

Look what came in the mail!!

2011-06-06T12:38:00.002-05:00

Isn't this just the sweetest card?! Delivered just in time for my daughter's 21st birthday tomorrow.
Picocraft's Etsy site is one of my favorite shops to happen upon and Armine is the nicest lady to do business with. Buying cards from her could become quite addicting.

Cottage Color Party is...... YELLOW!!!!

2011-05-23T22:16:00.002-05:00

Isn't yellow such a happy color? And, when it is in the form of a daisy, it's perfectly bliss.

This month's Etsy Cottage Style color party is YELLOW. I am so happy that I have the perfect item to share. My blue gingham purse/clutch is accented sweetly with the slightest touch of yellow in its delicate daisy trim.

Cherry on Top

2011-05-23T21:57:00.001-05:00

Both of my college aged kids are home, so I officially have all 3 kids in their nest. Yay!!! I just love having them home as I know the time is fleeting.

Now... back to business.

Here are a few of my newest Etsy creations (with the Cherry on top of course-haha)

2011-04-20T22:00:00.003-05:00

LAUNCHING!!!!

2011-04-19T15:11:00.000-05:00

Hello Indie Biz! I have so much to accomplish, but here is a sneak peek into my creations.

Everybody Makes Mistakes

2011-04-19T09:46:00.000-05:00

I have been so busy getting ready to "Launch" my line of clutches, that I have to admit, I get a little sidetracked. My cute little muslin bags arrived yesterday and I was so excited to show you, that I accidentally stamped my logo upside down. Now I have Miley Cyrus' annoying song "Everybody Makes Mistakes" in my head. (For those of you with teenage daughters, you most likely understand).

Blog Intimidation

2011-04-12T08:35:00.001-05:00

Holy Smokes! This is it... my first posting into the Blog world. I have been consuming myself with "how-to" books and still feel clueless. (Advice will be welcomed and appreciated.)

Spring brings us such excitement for growth and I intend to let it inspire me in my own personal life. With that, let me welcome you to JeanaMichelle, where time spent on the porch is always lovely. Grace and Blessings to you all!
