My Little Football Player Joel

I got to go and see my Grandson play football tonight! Joel was so cute out there blocking and running with the ball! It brought back so many memories watching his Daddy play ball for so many years!

It was also great to have some relaxing time as my life has taken a 360 degree turn. My oldest son, his wife, and my three grandsons have moved in with us. They are all keeping me crazy busy! Just trying to keep up with my schedule was a challenge but, now add 5 more people in our home has really stretched my time! It's been a challenge to have them here but, it's also so great that they have moved back to our city. We won't just have short visits anymore. We all are cherishing our time together as a family. We all are also looking forward to them moving into their own place and setting up a residence here.

So...God has been moving and changing things with me. I hope all of you have has a fabulous summer!

This is the story of my adult life with food allergies, and environmental allergies. Now, recently finding out that I cannot have gluten for health reasons. Walk for Life in Baton Rouge, La

This past Saturday we went to the Walk for Life in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This was significant because it marked 38 yrs of legalized abortion. Louisiana, the state that I live in, decided to have a statewide walk for life in order to honor this monumental event.

As many as you know, I am involved with a ministry called Tears To Treasures. This ministry is for abortion recovery (psyscological healing after abortion). We also do counseling to prevent abortions. Anyway, we were allowed to have a table set up to talk to people about our ministry. It was wonderful to be able to network with so many like minded people at one time!
Here is a pic of me waiting to talk to people. Oh, I am dressed like this because it was so cold here. You would thing because we live in the south that it would be warmer, but it was 33 degrees when we arrived. We were inside this tent (so no sun) so that made it even colder.

Another Awesome thing about he day was the founder and Executive Director for Tears To Treasures was asked to give her testimony. This is Michelle's testimony about how God saved her and healed her from her abortion that she had 30 yrs ago. Now, she has this ministry to help re-store broken lives. Also, to prevent lives being destroyed from abortion. I am so proud of Michelle! Praise You Jesus!

This is a fairly new ministry that just got it's 501 (c)3 status (non-profit). We operate by donations only. This is a much needed ministry here in Louisiana, around the USA, and around the world. It's Time For A Change!

I'm sorry it's been so long since I poated anything on my web site! So, many things have been going on in my life! As a matter of fact, a good way to describe it is that I have shifted into the fast lane on the highway! I am not here today to tell you that though.

My heart is quite heavy as I watch a very dear family to me, destroy each other! It is a very large family (12 brothers and sisters). There are many issues in this family! It is extremly dysfunctional! There are addictions and compulsions! None of them believe in going to therapy for counseling to get some help (to make any positive changes in their lives). I say it's time for a change! Then, there is one more thing that is very much grieving me (besides all these other things) is that none of them have a personal relationship with the Lord!

Recently, they lost their father. Instead, of grieving over the loss of their father some of them were actually verbally fighting! Instead of joining together as a family to get through the loss of their father it has made them split apart, basically. I know their father is looking down from Heaven right now, and is not happy about what he is seeing!

I ask you my readers, to pray for this family! They really need it!

This is a great book on organizing. It is a useful tool for organizing your life, home, schedule, and business. I love her ideas on using a Daily Planner. This tip from her has helped me tremendously in my personal life and my business. I appreciate Lisa’s wonderful sense of humor and that is fully reflected in her writing. I like how she gives worksheets in her book to really get to the heart of the matter. I highly recommend this book. It’s a great read. You will learn valuable tips that can carry you from singlehood, and all throughout your adult life.

Successful couples are savvy. They read books, attend seminars, browse Web articles and observe other successful couples. However, successful couples will tell you that they also learn by experience – trial and error.

Here are ten principles of success I have learned from working with and observing hundreds of couples:

1.Happiness is not the most important thing. Everyone wants to be happy, but happiness will come and go. Successful couples learn to intentionally do things that will bring happiness back when life pulls it away.

2.Couples discover the value in just showing up. When things get tough and couples don't know what to do, they need to hang in there and be there for their spouse. Time has a way of helping couples work things out by providing opportunities to reduce stress and overcome challenges.

3.If you do what you always do, you will get same result. Wise couples have learned that you have to approach problems differently to get different results. Often, minor changes in approach, attitude and actions make the biggest difference in marriage.

4.Your attitude does matter. Changing behavior is important, but so is changing attitudes. Bad attitudes often drive bad feelings and actions.

5.Change your mind, change your marriage. How couples think and what they believe about their spouse affects how they perceive the other. What they expect and how they treat their spouse matters greatly.

6.The grass is greenest where you water it. Successful couples have learned to resist the grass is greener myth – i.e. someone else will make me happy. They have learned to put their energy into making themselves and their marriage better.

7.You can change your marriage by changing yourself. Veteran couples have learned that trying to change their spouse is like trying to push a rope – almost impossible. Often, the only person we can change in our marriage is ourselves.

8.Love is a verb, not just a feeling. Everyday life wears away the "feel good side of marriage." Feelings, like happiness, will fluctuate. But, real love is based on a couple's vows of commitment: "For better or for worse" – when it feels good and when it doesn't.

9.Marriage is often about fighting the battle between your ears. Successful couples have learned to resist holding grudges, bringing up the past and remembering that they married an imperfect person – and so did their spouse.

10.A crisis doesn't mean the marriage is over. Crises are like storms: loud, scary and dangerous. But to get through a storm you have to keep driving. A crisis can be a new beginning. It's out of pain that great people and marriages are produced.
