Osakwe, who is the presidential candidate of the NRM in the Feb. 25th elections implored all Nigerians to remain optimistic and confident about the democratic evolvement of the Nigerian state. *WITH A HEART OF GRATITUDE*

My People

I am delighted to once again, appreciate you deeply for your support, during my campaign for the just concluded Sénatorial election. May Almighty God who saw the roles you played individually in the secret, reward you openly abundantly in Jesus mighty name.

For several years, I was unresponsive to the inner prompting to step forward and help get Ogun State, most especially Ogun East fixed because I believed politics is dirty. It was in 2001 that I finally lost the strength of refusal and said YES to the call of Political Apostleship. I humbly assure you therefore that I didn't run for Senate in Ogun East just as an ambition but a burning desire to be part of Change Process.

The level of underdevelopment and poor leadership in Ogun State is abysmal and my wealth of knowledge, state of heart, sense of purpose and deep understanding of the problems and the solutions tormented me to step forward and lead the way in addressing these issues. The primary reason I ran was to be the difference that will inspire other Nigerians to be the difference our country so badly needs, in the area of leadership and good governance.

This particular election expanded my understanding why our country continues to grapple with the same problems for over 62 years. People's consciences were up for sale for as little as a packet of plantain crisps and a bottle of coke. Some were comfortable with N200 as a reward for their votes.

I saw from a vantage position, as a contestant that good people may never win elections in Nigeria because the sentiments that rule deeply in the hearts and minds of most Nigerians may successfully obstruct their emergence. As human beings, many times, the connection between us and our sentiments make us take decisions that are not in the best interest of community and national development. Decisions that we may later regret in our quiet moments.

My exposure as a key actor in the 2023 elections affords me the opportunity to experience betrayal as never before. Your closest friends, families, colleagues and neighbours may only pay lip service support to you and may infact vote against you at the polls because their allegiance is more to their "temporary stomach infrastructure" which I premised on intellectual poverty and myopic political exposure. The need for the emergence of a candidate that is most suitable to drive community, state or national redemption and transformation takes a backstage.

I saw clearly that this character or behaviour flows from the low level of political education and social intelligence of most Nigerians.

It also becames clearer to me that if Nigeria will ever become a great nation, all well meaning Nigerians must work hard to help Nigeria turn these weaknesses of low political education and feeble social intelligence to positive strength before 2027. Failure to do that will elongate the sojourn of our great country in the mire of poor leadership and underdevelopment.

Though we didn't win the election for Senate in Ogun East and will therefore not be able to launch the YESSS AGENDA Project that owed the ace to Ogun East rapid advancement, however, my commitment to promoting development in Ogun State and Nigeria is unwavering. I will double my efforts as a private citizen to serve my nation better through my many community development involvements by the grace of God.

I look forward to the opportunity to continue to connect with you to serve our nation and make her better.

BREAKING: INEC declares APC’s Bola Tinubu winner of Nigeria’s presidential election

The electoral commission, INEC, has declared Bola Tinubu, the candidate of Nigeria’s ruling party, APC, as the winner of Saturday’s presidential election.

Mr Tinubu defeated 17 other candidates who took part in the election. He scored a total of 8,794,726 votes, the highest of all the candidates, thus meeting the first constitutional requirement to be declared the winner.

He also scored over 25 per cent of the votes cast in 30 states, more than the 24 states constitutionally required.

INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, who announced the final results in the early hours of Wednesday in Abuja, said Atiku Abubakar of the PDP came second in the election.

Atiku polled a total of 6,984,520 votes in the election.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party came third in the election with a total of 6,101,533 votes while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP came fourth with 1,496,687 votes.

Mr Yakubu said a Certificate of Return for the President and Vice President will be presented by 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the National Collation Centre.

Only the top four candidates won the presidential election in at least one state. Each of Messrs Tinubu, Atiku and Obi won in 12 states while Mr Kwankwaso won only in Kano.

However, winning a majority of states is not a requirement for a candidate to be declared the winner of the election.

Mr Tinubu won the election in Rivers, Borno, Jigawa, Zamfara, Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo and Ogun states.

The presidential candidate of the NRM, Amb. Felix Johnson Osakwe has admonished all Nigerians to embrace peace during the general elections holding on Feb 25th, 2023.

According to him, it is the sole prerogative of God Almighty to crown kings. He therefore enjoined everyone to vote their conscience for the type of nation they wish to live in.

He particularly advised all Nigerians youths to shun all forms of violence during the elections and should not subject themselves to be used by self seeking and power hungry politicians as agents of mischief.

Osakwe who signed the Peace Accord alongside other presidential candidates in Abuja last Wednesday opine that Nigeria is our motherland and we must remember that elections will come and go but Nigeria must stand.

It is really sad and highly unpleasant what we heard and see from the former Governor of Lagos SENATOR BOLA AHMED TINUBU did in ABEOKUTA. The party held him in the highest esteem, but unfortunately he decended on the president needlessly, something he shouldn't have done no matter what he thinks anyone did to him. He made sure that he got the opportunity to drag president Buhari into his issue, whatever anyone did to him Abeakuta. He even went to the extent of making a mockery of the president that without him (BAT) BUHARI wouldn't have became president. I won't say he wasn't in his senses because he went there to see people and campaign. If we allow things to continue this way, then only GOD knows what will happen. Only GOD gave power to president Buhari, and anybody who try to touch our leader will definitely face the consequences.

So what do you think is wrong. Is it not correct that he helped the president?

BREAKING: Alaafin of Oyo is Dead [PHOTOS]

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, has been buried in the ancient town of Oyo in south-west Nigeria.

POLITICS NIGERIA earlier reported that the Alaafin died on Friday after battling a brief illness.

His remains were buried on Saturday within the premises of the palace a day after he gave up the ghost in a hospital in Ado Ekiti. He was aged 83 years. Islamic clerics led by the Chief Imam of Oyo town were joined by members of the family of the late traditional ruler and some of his chiefs to offer prayers for the repose of his soul.

Speaking on his demise, Governor Seyi Makinde stated that it was a personal loss to him.

“Oba Adeyemi was our last man standing in the rank of most eminent royal fathers with long years of leadership,”

“He became a golden king, an institution and an authority rolled into one by virtue of his immense experience, wisdom and understanding of Yoruba history, royalty, and politics.”, he stated.

2023 General Elections: PDP Will Return to Power - Hon. Muritala speaks.

The Publicity Secretary of the People's Democratic Party in Gombe State, Hon Muritala Usman has stated that, Nigerians are waiting for PDP to return to power come 2023 general elections. In his statement, he said APC have inflicted pains on the people.

He made this disclosure while speaking to Jejetv at the Party's Secretariat in Gombe State.

Hon. Muritala said the fold of the PDP is in the increase because people believe the best alternative is the People's Democratic Party.

He said;

" People are joining PDP on daily basis because they have discovered that APC is a party of deceit at all levels. The infrastructure development we enjoyed in Gombe today was brought to the state under PDP led government".

The Publicity Secretary noted that, the only party that can salvage the country from poverty, mis-govenance of the ruling APC is the People's Democratic Party. " A lot of people are tropping to our party to either support or contest for political offices; as it stands today, PDP is the beautiful bride".

He said the leadership of the party is working towards uniting every members with promise of conducting free, fair and credible primaries, noting that, once there is unity in the party, the days of APC led government are number at all levels.

Hon Muritala further reiterated that, the party need a unifier who is so passionate about Nigerians and capable of reforming and fixing the country's many challenges created by the incumbent administration.

His words: " For us to get it right, the party leadership must shun sentiment, ethnicity or religion consideration must be jettisoned while picking our presidential candidate. What Nigerians need at this time is somebody who will unite the country, somebody with solutions to insecurity, comatose economy, infrastructure decay among others because APC government has divided Nigeria along ethnicity lines".

He commended the National Body of the party for throwing open the presidential ticket to every interested members of the party, adding that, equal opportunity will further unite the party rather than zoning it to a particular region.

Meanwhile, Hon Muritala described the state chairman of the party in Gombe as a man of impeccable characters, highly cerebral, and active politician that has restored back the lost glory of PDP in the state.

To get the way forward, it is imperative to identify and itemize the problem facing Nigeria certificate in Education and we have strong believe, as a student body that this summit will provide the way forward.

PROBLEMS FACING NIGERIA CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION AND WAY FORWARD.

Government policies: It is important for the educational stakeholders in this summit to recall that the policy of federal government stopped, NCE holders from going to National Youth Service in 1984 , and this policy was the beginning of diminishing the value of Nigeria certificate in education, the policy of federal Government fail to realize that NCE offer to Students that passes through Colleges of education and it takes minimum of 3 years for Students to get this certificate , before such a student can get his/her Degree he must spent minimum of another 3years sometimes 4years as the case may be, this make it minimum of 6 -7year for any teachers education Students that pass through Colleges of education to be a degree holders , before 6year of academic battle, the age limit of NYSC catch up with Colleges of education Students. what we understand about this policy is that, a student that chooses to have Nigeria Certificate in education must be ready to sacrifices his or her NYSC, this is a policy that need quick adjustment for the summit to get the way forward on NCE.

The lecturers of Colleges of Education cannot raise to professorship level without moving to university. Meaning that there is a limitation governing the college systems. Many lecturers lecture both in colleges and university and if checked you will notice that such lecturer is well grounded in the field. If so why can’t they be professors?

The joint admission and matriculation board {JAMB}, has made NCE looks like a dumping ground for those who could not secure admission to varsity, and as such many students comes into NCE not for the passion of teaching rather as an alternative to kill boredom. Or are forcedly sent by their parent or guidance.

THE WAY FORWARD.

The federal government as matter of urgency should adjust the act that established National Commission for Colleges of education and empower all Colleges of education to offer Degree certificate to all Students finishing their NCE program by doing a top up program of one year and maximum of two years depending on the course of study and then become a degree holder

Educational programs should move out of University or strictly supervised by the NCCE, any Students that are interested to study education should pass through Colleges of education.

Students of Colleges of education should be allowed to service or NYSC should remove age limit for teacher’s education Students.

Lecturers of colleges of education should be able to raise to professorship while remaining in Colleges of education.

Jamb cut-off mark for colleges of education should be reviewed, and admission giving on merit because teaching is a very sensitive part of the society, and no nation can do without it teacher, and as such when we build the teachers we build the nation and when we destroy the teachers, we destroy the nation.

APC CONVENTION: ADAMU, OTHERS NWC EMERGES THROUGH CONSENSUS PARTY FAITHFUL DISAPPOINTS DOOMDAYS PROPHETS

After a long awiting National convention of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC and days of negotiations and disagreements, the party finally held it convention opting for consensus formula to select its national working committee members.

The favourite consensus candidate of the President, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari Rtd., for the position of the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, was ratified as the new party chairman late Saturday night as other contenders makes their demands.

Adamu, a former governor of Nasarawa State who is a present senator at the red Chambers of the 9th assembly, emerged as a consensus candidate. Adamu was not among those who initially expressed interest in the chairmanship position. However, he was later drafted into the race by the Presidency and some governors.

The former governor of Nasarawa State, emergence as consensus candidate, force other aspirants and party leaders to make demand for various positions of the party, and this lead to the delayed in the commencement of the convention which was scheduled to start by 1pm but rather kick started by 8:23pm.

The New National working committee will manage the administration of the party for the next four years, plan and oversee the party’s primaries ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The Vice-President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, arrived at the event at 7:59 pm; the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan at exactly 7.06 pm, while the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, arrived at 7.03 pm.

Confronted by the delegates’ restiveness over the delay, Gbajabiamila said it was better to start late and get things right or never.

Main while, most of the party chieftains have praise the wisdom of the leader of the party, president muhamedu Buhari for bringing together all members to make the convention a success contrarily to prophecy of doom that said, APC will break up after it's convention or even go into extinction.

All is set for the all progressive Congress national convention, holding at eagle square the nation's capital City Abuja to elect the national working committee of the Nigeria ruling party APC

Many political watchers have said after the event of today, many party faithful will take their stand to remain or jump the ship of the APC as a result of how the game of selecting national party leaders is been conducted.

At the 2022 Alumni Association Lecture Organized by the University of Ibadan the Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Abdullahi Umar Ganduje gave a lecture on "CHALLENGES OF INSECURITY AND NATION BUILDING".

In his lecture held in the school premises he said "it is relevant and important in the current events when Nigeria has been persistently experiencing security problems and it is an attempt to look into issues of national security as they affect effort at building a virile and strong nation through the employment of contemporary approaches in dealing with these challenges.

JUST IN: Court Remands Abba Kyari in NDLEA Custody till March 14th

A Federal High Court, Abuja has ordered that embattled police cop, DCP Abba Kyari and six others be remanded in the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) till March 14.

Kyari was arraigned on Monday morning before Justice Emeka Nwite where he pleaded not guilty to charges of Drug-Trafficking levelled against him.

Abba Kyari was arraigned alongside four other senior police officers and two civilians. The NDLEA filed an 8-count charge against them.

POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the 6th and 7th defendants(the two civilians) pleaded guilty to counts 5, 6 and 7. Prosecution counsel, Joseph Sunday asked the court for an adjournment to enable them to review the facts against the defendants. He said this would enable them to confront them with the evidence.

Counsel for Abba Kyari, Kanu Agabi (SAN), said they have filed an application for bail, adding that the defendants are entitled to bail because it is a bailable offence.

He argued that the decision of the prosecution to review the facts against the defendants was unnecessary, noting that it would amount to prejudice if the allegations preferred against the defendants turn out to be false.

It will be recalled that Kyari entered hot water after attempting to bribe an official of the agency with $61,000 to facilitate the release of seized cocaine.

He said "The party is sabotaged by the the heads and he is advised not to waste his funds as there is no reason for him to continue the race".

He further stated that the party have concluded that Adeleke should go on as the PDP candidate and there is no reason for him to waste his funds.

Police in Aliade, Gwer East local government area of Benue State have handed another male child to the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon Emmanuel Ortserga on Monday, 12/7/2021 at the local government council Secretariat, Aliade.

Making the official handing over of the child to the Chairman, DPO of Aliade divisional headquarters, SP Bathromew Ali represented by ASP Franca Abgenor told the Council Chairman that one Mrs Uchenna Ugwu a cake Baker in Makurdi who supplies cake to her customers in Otukpo and other places in the state last Friday 8/7/2021 joined an on_ coming bus in Otukpo that was conveying passengers from the East to the North. In the bus , the said Uchenna Ugwu sat close to a young lady of between 18 to 20 years who was carrying a barley two Months male Baby and were speaking Igbo language.

On reaching at Austoma village, Aliade, the said Uchenna asked the driver to stop for her to collect monies from her customers. In the process, the young lady also dropped, asked Uchenna to hold the baby boy to enable her find a place to ease herself at about 1:00pm which she held the baby boy and waited for the young lady to come back for her child till 7:30pm to no avail before she took the baby boy to the Aliade police station.

Receiving the child, Chairman of Gwer East local government council, Hon Emmanuel Ortserga represented by his deputy , Hon Austine Nemba commended Mrs Ugwu for taking good care of the child and subsequently handing him over to the police. He also charged her and the police to continue with their humanitarian services in the society.

The council Chairman lamented the high level at which young ladies are gabbling with lives of children whom he described as leaders of tommorow, saying that posterity would one day judge then negatively. He therefore urged parents to monitor their daughters to avoid a repeat of such barbaric act.

He recalled that an abandoned male child was recovered in the area on 30/6/2021 barely a week to the present case.

Alh. Ado Hussaini, DG due process and project monitoring bureau, speaks on the function and activities of the bureau why answering questions from news men in his office, the DG said; It's function is mainly about procurement, organisation and monitoring it was established in 2009.

The bureau is also in charge of clearing of contractors and advice Government on how contract can be awarded and report back to Government.

Transparency and accuracy is the agency watch word in other words vision and mission statement, this help the agency in giving back useful information to Government. The DG seeks for the cooperation of the people as he said due process is a child of government and government is the agent of the people. He mentioned the newly constructed general hospital in Garki and Gantsa LGA others include electrification project in Birniwa LGA, construction of hand pump in Garin Sani Gariki LGA, and construction of road in Kanya Babba Babura LGA and many more others, as some of the project monitored by the bureau. Due to how Jigawa State due process and project monitoring bureau has conducted it's activities it has been applaud to be one of the best agency in the State as well as the country.

Andy Uba wins APC primary election in Anambra

An All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Anambra State, Andy Nnamdi Uba has defeated 13 other aspirants to emerge the party’s governorship candidate in the next November 6 elections.

The chairman of the APC primary election panel and governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, announced the outcome of the poll at Golden Tulip Hotel, Agulu Lake, early on Sunday.

Uba emerged winner with 230,201 votes while his closest rival, Johnbosco Onunkwo polled a total of 28,746 votes.

The total vote cast was 348, 490.

The full results as announced by the election committee for each of the candidates are:
