Yes, it's been a while, for which I apologise; but I am back again!

It's difficult and time consuming keeping up with Facebook, emails, Instagram and You Tube and I have to be honest and say that my BLOG is always the last in line - though it shouldn't really be so.

I made these adorable Nutcracker Tags this morning during my live, and I just had to share them with you.

These tags are approx 5" high, and the kit makes 12 tags in total; 3 of each of the 4 designs above. For £14 that works out at just over £1 per tag, but I think these would also make great card toppers too.

The decoupage elements all have added glitter, and it would be an easy kit to make with young children as there is no cutting (other than the twine), and all the adhesive is included in the form of glue dots and dimensionals.

I have placed these in little bags with card backings, but watch out for some finished cards in my next post.

A kaleidoscope of Butterflies!

Did you know that a group of butterflies is officially called a kaleidoscope, and can also be called a flight or a swarm!

I think that the descriptive word Kaleidoscope was absolutely spot on for our cards recently. Have a look:

These cards were all made at #coffeeandcard this week. The stamp set is Beautiful Butterflies and it has a set of matching dies that are extremely versatile.

As well as cutting out the stamped images, there is a detail die and a die that creates a butterfly shaed card in its own right. We used these in our Class in a Box for February. Watch out for our next post which features our card designs for our Class boxes (photo below)

Stampin' Up! Storybook Garden Patch for card making

Among the Swallows - Featuring the Spotlight Technique

Hello and welcome back. Apologies, I haven't blogged for a little while, but I am trying to get back into posting more regularly, even if it is just a few photos of what we have been up to each week.

Our post today features the Spotlight Technique. This is where a part (or parts) of a larger image are highlighted, usually by colouring an otherwise monochrome image.

We used the online exclusive stamp Among The Swallows which is currently on offer at £13.30 instead of £19 in the UK (February 2025)

Details:

We used Early Espresso for inking the stamp, and trimmed down the image sheet to 9.5cm x 13.85cm.
We cut a background card layer to 10cm x 14.35cm and this was placed onto a white base card 14.845cm x 10.5 as folded.
We used a 2.25" circle punch for the chosen section, and then punched a larger circle 2.5" to create a circle layer that would be seen behind the panel.
We coloured the small circle panel with an assortment of Blends alcohol markers. This was then added to the card with dimensional foam pads.
A diecut panel with the sentiment was added to the top.

Making a celebration rosette card

Hello and welcome back to this week's BLOG post with our #stampsetoftheweek Round We Go.

We started off the week with some simple card designs, just using the stamps. Both the dots and the pinwheels/flowers work well in all colours for all recipients. Perfect for birthdays, exam results etc.

Fun, cute cards with the Sweet Peas stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Don't be fooled by the name though - these are peas (as in the vegetable) and not sweet peas.

With a fun play on words - like HapPEA Birthday and You make me HaPpea - this is a great card making stamp set for all ages.

It also makes a great baby card with the Welcome Sweet Pea sentiment too! Baby cards were very popular in our coffee and card sessions.

There are assorted pea images, including a party pea, a grumpy pea, a baby pea and two sets of peas in their pods. Of course there are 2 peas in a pod too - great for anniversary or twin birth cards!

All have fun, smiling faces apart from the grumpy one. The retired colour Parakeet Party or the current Granny Apple Green Stampin Up Blends pens were perfect pea colours!

For our second card session, I had to do some masking and add lots of peas - which you can see in this video. It is not an original idea of mine, I saw this created by another Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - but I am struggling to remember who it was. If you know, please let me know so I can credit them accordingly.

Perfect card design for crafters who don't like colouring images

Hello and thank you for catching up on this latest BLOG entry.

This week we chose Poised Peony as our #stampsetoftheweek and it was a great choice for #coffeeandcards too. We teamed it with our Subtles Designer Series Papers - stamping on the background papers with the smallest peony bud to create a pretty co-ordinated design.

Here was my sample using Pretty in Pink:

As always, there were some fabulous choice of colours - you can check out my reel on my Facebook page for more details.

The main image was stamped in Early Espresso and we used the Blends alcohol markers to colour the images.

It's time to get myself organised!

What can I say? I have been very lapse indeed with my BLOG

I seem to be able to keep up with my Facebook and You Tube channels, but my BLOG always seems to be at the bottom my my list.

Not that I don't have anything to post- I have PLENTY to share with you.

So, I have challenged myself to make sure I am blogging again, thanks to a conversation with another Demonstrator Michele Miller from Australia. Michelle and I met up today - during her trip around the world - how lucky was I that she chose to join us at coffee and card this morning! That's just one of the many benefits of being a Demonstrator.

Michele is an avid blogger and so I have commited to getting my own blog updated and posted!.

Here we are at coffee and card in Brackley this morning. Michele is in the pink at the front on the right.

Trusty Tools Stamp set for a great DIY enthusiast

Trusty Tools is a fantastic stamp set

To make cards for all the DIY and mechanics in your family. Whether that is for birthday, Mothers Day, Fathers Day or other occasion.

It is so versatile and features paintbrushes, tools and some great sentiments. It was our #stampsetoftheweek last week and was used at all of our #coffeeandcard sessions. The first two photos are the simple coffee and card designs. You can click on either of the top two photos below to watch the video that shows how I made them.

The attendees at coffee and card had a great time with these, it seemed to inspire some fantastic ideas. I have to share two of these - from Father and Daughter duo Scott and Faith Hawkins. Scott is known for his love of masking images - and this was a fabulous result as you can see.

More Sparkling Snowflakes Designs

The Sparkling Snowflakes stamp is so versatile for Christmas Cards.

Here are some more samples I made during my Facebook Live videos. The first uses the Snowflake 3D Embossing Folder, and then I used the Snowflake Foiled Papers for the Stack, Slice and Shuffle technique which I used at a class recently.

The backing piece is from our White Centre Paper pack, which I put through our current Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder and then used a small sanding block over the embossed detail, which shows the white core through it.

The layer of white card is die cut using the Scalloped Contours dies, which I stamped with the snowflake in the background. The larger sentiment in Night of Navy comes from the Joy to You stamp set. A little bling was added, and the card done.

I also used the stunning Snowflake Magic metallic papers (sadly now sold out) for the set of 3 cards you can see below. Such an easy way to use up paper and create multiple cards at the same time! I used 3 pieces of designer paper (9.5cm x 13.85cm), stacked together and cut at the same time into 3 different pieces. It's best not to go for triangles as they can all look the same and make it difficul to put back togethee, unless you like puzzles of course!

Christmas Cards with Sparkling Snowflakes

Quick to make Christmas Cards

The Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set from Stampin' Up! was our choice for coffee and card recently.

For this card, you could use any image really, or any other snowflake set you may already have as it is a simple card design which could easily be replicated.

There is a co-ordinating Snowflake Tag Topper punch, which I used to create the backing detail in the photo.

For my card layers I used a piece of Fresh Freesia that measured 14.35cm x 10cm. I stamped over the background with assorted snowflake stamps from the set - to make life easier use the largest stamp first, gradually getting smaller and filling in the spaces.

The co-ordinating colours I used were Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. I stamped the sentiment onto a die cut piece of Basic White card cut from the Nested Essentials dies - a really useful set of stitched shape dies.

Easy Christmas Cards with simple colouring

Using our #stampsetoftheweek Joy of Noel

We made some simple Chrstmas Cards at coffee and card recently. With just a small amount of colouring required, these cards come together really quickly.

The colouring can be quick and easy, as the image areas are fairly small and you can just 'scribble' the colours in. I used our alcohol markers (Blends pens) but you could also use Stampin' Write markers or watercolours pencils - really any colouring medium you like.

There are 2 main foliage images in this stamp set, plus the NOEL, some extra sentiments and some useful small images. The curved foliage is perfect for wreaths of course!.

I cut some Basic White card 92mm x 92mm and stamped straight onto this for both card designs. I used Shaded Spruce ink for the foliage stamping and Poppy Parade or Real Red for the sentiments. I used our Very Best Trio punch for the decorative corners; watch the video for some hints and tips for using this punch.

I used various Blends colours for my shading - mostly Shaded Spruce, Real Red or Poppy Parade. I also used our retired Just Jade pens.

The white was layered onto assorted red and green base cards which measure 99mm square. You can get 3 cards out of an A4 sheet if you score down the long centre line (10.cm), fold in half and cut at the open edge 99mm. Just turn the card 90degrees and cut twice at 99mm, that gives you 3 perfectly square cards in total.

I stamped the block sentiments from the Bold, Merry and Bright stamp set, easily fussy cut with scissors. These were layered up with dimensionals (foam pads)

NEW Deckled Edge Circle dies

Welcome back - another short break I am afraid, but I am finally back and ready to roll. It has been a busy time, having been over to Las Vegas for the Stampin' Up! leadership conference, the new mini catalogue launch and lots going on at home too!

So, let me introduce the new Deckled Edge Circle dies - an amazing 14 dies in the set - the largest reaching nearly 6" in diameter. Easily missed - you can find them in the mini catalogue on page 63.and priced at £35.

These are perfect for cardmaking and scrapbooking and making hanging ornaments as you can see above! I used our new Self Adhesive Glimmer Sheets (Silver and Gold in the pack) to cut the rings, and stamped the circle centres using our recent #stampsetoftheweek Joy of Noel onto Basic White card. I attached these to the Real Red die cut circles, and then stuck the outline gold rings on the outer edges.

The photo above show sone side of the ornament - very tricky to photograph. The block sentiments you can see come from the Bold, Merry and Bright stamp set - I wish we had more sentiments like this as they stamp so well.

Trucking Along - making some great cards with this cute truck stamp and punch

Suitable for young and old - this Truck stamp

Is part of the Trucking Along bundle from Stampin' Up! It has some great 'loads' that the truck can carry, including a Christmas Tree, a stack of presents, plants, a palm tree and surfboard and some sunflowers. There is a matching punch too, so no fussy cutting of the truck is needed.

Add in some trees, the truck of course, clouds and road and you have a very versatile stamp set indeed. All of the items have co-ordinating filler stamps, or you can colour the images themselves if you prefer.

You can see above, my first example, using the presents and the sunflowers, with that lovely Gingham paper behind the Scalloped die. These are layered on standard sized A6 cards, so the Gingham layer measures 10cm x 14.35cm. You can see the video on the basic card by clicking on the photo above.

It was our #stampsetoftheweek, so was used at coffee and card for all 3 sessions.

Of course, I had to make a Christmas version, using the popular One Horse Open Sleigh papers for the background. These papers are just perfect to have something placed in front of them. I took the colour inspiration from the marina Mist backing paper.

Although we made many cards with this bundle during the week, my final card was my favourite, using the Flying Seagull card design from Susan Campfield, a demonstrator in the USA. I converted the sizing for UK cards. You can see the full video of how to make this card in the video below.

There are some usedful sentiments in the stamp set too. The papers and the bundle are from our Online Exclusive range - you won't see them in a printed catalogue.

Inked and Tiled Collection from Stampin' Up!

What a great combination of products in this Inked and Tiled Collection.

This collection features some stunning papers and a stamp set, as well as the punches which make great cards for everyone. You can just use the punches in their own right with papers or card of your choice. You can see our #coffeeandcard design being created in this video:

Once I had started, it was hard to stop as there were so many ways you could use the products. Here is a Tic-Tac-Toe or Noughts and Crosses version:

I just used Basic White card to form a square card base, cut some thin strips of Basic Black card for the grid and added the Good Luck sentiment from Charming sentiments.

Our second video of the week featured two cards which I made with the stamp set and some of the papers.

The first card was very popular indeed with many people saying that was their favourite of all the cards with that stamp set. The inspiration was all from the Inked Botanical papers.

The second card (on the right) was made with viewers choice of colours - we ended up with Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath - such a soft pretty card - what do you think?

Let's Go Shopping

I wasn't sure how popular this bundle and papers would be as they are quite specific! I need not have worried!

I used the papers for coffee and card, and my stamp set of the week last week, and it proved very popular indeed. Thanks to everyone who ordered.

Here is a sample from coffee and card - you could fussy cut the shops with snips or our NEW craft knife tool which I am loving. You do need a craft mat underneath though! Don't spoil your best dining table.

As it was our stanp set of the week, I carried on creating. Click on the 2 photos below for the links to the live craft sessions. The card on the right was a real success - I wanted the look of architectural drawings.

This final card below shows the sweet little lamp posts that are part of the die set. Full product details can be found in the links below. These papers have fabulous reverse sides too, which include bakery and craft items.

Easy cards with the Naturally Gilded Papers

These Naturally Gilded Papers from Stampin' Up! are stunning, but do not feature in a printed catalogue. They are one of many current online exclusive products.

It was an easy choice for our coffee and card design recently, using them as the basis for the card, and adding colour using our Blending Brushes and Ink Pads.

Here are some of the finished designs:

For the cards above, we just used some blending brushes and ink, after cutting the paper to size to fit our A6 card base. A video showing you how I made these can be seen here:

I went onto create some more cards just using the offcuts from above! Here's how:

Two Tone Flora - fabulous cards Part 1.

Two-Tone Flora stamp set

This was our #stampsetoftheweek from 20 March 2023 and it really didn't disappoint. We began with some simple stamping, progressing during the week - adding the dies and the papers and ended with a stunning stamped one sheet wonder which made 4 cards. This stylish set of photopolymer stamps from Stampin' Up! is in our current mini catalogue (Jan-April 2023).

Simple stamped card to get started

We started with this simple card for our #coffeeandcard sessions. There was a choice of the deckled rectangle or a stitched circle die-cut, both of which were mounted onto a backing paper and then onto one of our notecards. In the sample below, I used Orchid Oasis and Parakeet Party inks.

Making it larger

From here we progressed onto some standard sized cards, but with a similar layout - this time we used a circle die from the Stylish Shapes and I chose some bright colours as you can see. These were Mango Melody and Sweet Sorbet. The sentiment on the cards below is from the Best Family Ever stamp set. The narrow banner die is also from the Stylish Shapes set of dies.

Flowers galore!

There are so many flowers in this set, so I stamped samples out onto card for everyone to see the different types. You can use two different colours of ink, or you can use 1 colour and stamp off to get a lighter version. Here are some of the sample flowers.

Stepping up and adding dies

From here I went on and used some of the flower dies from the matching die set. In the card below I stamped 3 of the flowers (Melon Mambo and Gorgeous Grape), and the foliage (Pear Pizzazz) and then die cut them before adding to an embossed background of Basic White Card. This folder is part of a set of three new embossing folders available in our online store.

This layer was then added to my Melon Mambo cardbase, and the inside stamped to match. You can see the video of how this card was made by clicking on the image below.
