Interview about my health insurance headache

I did an interview with InsuranceQuotes.com last month that was posted today. All I remember about this interview is that I conducted it from my bed first thing in the morning. (Well, it was first thing for me, though it was probably second or third thing for most other people.) I also thought I was just going to be quoted once or twice for a bigger article, so I was surprised and delighted to see the whole interview is published. I’m also glad I was awake enough to put together complete sentences, or that the interviewer was kind enough to edit it that way for me.

In case you missed my appearance on the Patt Morrison show on KPCC, you can listen to the 20-minute segment here. Big props to Flyleaf Books for letting me use their landline to do the phone-in interview. The only person I know who has a landline is my mom who lives 600 miles away. Everyone else uses cell phones, which must be really annoying for radio producers who fear their guests might drop out mid-interview.

In addition to the blog book tour that’s continuing through next Tuesday, a few more positive reviews of Chocolate & Vicodin have been rolling in.

Women’s Life Link posted a lovely review that said this, among other things:

I believe that Jennette is extremely gifted as a writer and could likely do stand up comedy, as long as there were no bright lights, smoke, and loud fans to exacerbate her one headache that has now lasted for over three years…I admire her. I relate to her. I hope she keeps writing great books.

The WRAL staff is really on the ball, like one of those trained seals in the circus. They’ve got the video of my interview up only 3 hours after it happened. I watched it and I didn’t cringe once, which is rather remarkable.

I’ll be interviewed on the Think show at the Dallas, Texas NPR affiliate KERA sometime between 2pm-3pm EST. You can listen to their live stream here.

Tuesday, March 1: 12:40pm EST
Tune to WRAL, the Raleigh-Durham CBS affiliate around 12:40pm when I’ll be interviewed during the noon news. They don’t appear to have a streaming feed, so unless they post the video later you’ll have to be a local to watch it.

Tuesday, March 1: 3:00pm EST
After my TV appearance, I will drive home and find a spot in my apartment with good cell phone coverage so I can talk to SiriusXM’s show Cover to Cover on Sirius 117 or XM 163. You have to be a subscriber to listen.

Wednesday, March 9: ~~5:25pm~~ 5:40pm EST
At ~~5:25pm~~ 5:40pm EST I’ll be on the Patt Morrison Program on KPCC, the Los Angeles NPR affiliate. Click on the “Listen Live” link in the upper left section of their web site to listen to the live stream. NOTE: Please note that the time has been changed to 5:40pm EST or 2:40pm PST local time.

Chocolate & Vicodin is featured on the “New in Paperback” table of Barnes & Noble, right at the front of the store. This pretty much made my year.
