Celebrate books and reading, and words – spoken, sung and recited Ocean County Library’s 10th BookFest! A Festival of Words. The outdoor festival features talks by authors, booksigning, crafts, music, dance and of course food, balloons and our favorite furry character Sparks!

Joining us for BookFest this year are authors Ricky Riccardi, whose biography Louis Armstrong: the Later Years was written up in the New York Times, Fran Capo, author of It Happened in New Jersey, is the Guinness Book of World Records fastest talking female, Artie Bennett presents his hilarious rhyming “The Butt Book” for the younger set, and author Carlotta Holton supplies some vampire-mania for the Teen crowd.

Other features include Kevin Mullin, The Student Athlete’s Guide for the Future, Patricia Robinson – The New Jersey Coastal Heritage Trail and Wonderwalks, Jeff Cohen The Asperger Parent: How to Raise a Child with Asperger Syndrome and Maintain Your Sense of Humor as well as some intentionally funny murder mysteries.

Mr. Scott ‘The Music Man’ will deliver a uniquely creative and energetic high energy, very wacky, warm hearted music and movement experience for children and their families.

Celebrate the amazing repertoire of beloved American, the legendary “Man in Black”, Johnny Cash Tribute with the Basement Musicicans Tony Pileggi, Rick Hohowski and Tom Rutt.

This will be the episode which was filmed back in June in Point Pleasant where Ocean County Choppers came and unveiled the Feather Free Zone custom chopper. We had also unveiled our bike cake there which was a smaller duplication of the original. Not sure if we made it on tv but I would love for everyone to take the time out and watch. Rock ‘N Ride is a fully supported, family-friendly bike tour along scenic Long Beach Island. Support and Gear Wagons, bike mechanics and road marshals are on location to ensure your ride goes smoothly. Ride at your own pace and pause to sightsee with your team of family, friends & co-workers at beautiful rest stops along our 40, 20 and 10 mile routes. The day culminates with The Red Cross ‘“Party in the Park.” held at Sunset Park. You’ll enjoy a fantastic BBQ, fun filled activities and live entertainment from rock & roll greats…GENERATION NEXT!!!! and a special appearance from the Rock n Roll Chorus!!!!

The registration fee on Sunday, the day of the race is $70.00 for Adults and $25.00 for kids!
