Meg and Patrick kept a running theme throughout their wedding planning, their love for the ocean and Boston, the city where they first met and fell in love. Both Meg and Patrick grew up on the water and on their wedding day tomorrow, they will be married in front of the Boston Harbor in front of all their loved ones. Kids Easter Party

Our inspiration for the Easter Party came from the desire to style something fun and exciting. With a little help from some of our amazing vendors, we were able to do just that! By leveraging Spring pastels and zooming in on the small details and you can't forget the DIY touches, we were able to transform our vision into the idyllic Easter Party. We brought our imagined color scheme to life by incorporating 'Easter' holiday colors and patterns and adding in our DIY products such as gift baskets, hanging flowered eggs and framed artwork. These DIY products were the magic touch. The best thing about incorporating them is that they can be used for Spring decorations and inspiration for upcoming parties. What a great segway into the warmer months!

Easter Parade Shoot

The lovely Sharnel from Sharnel Dollar Designs in Australia, styled this adorable party that is full of Easter Inspiration. All the colors and details are perfect. I can't get over the cuteness of the bunny cupcake stand from Pottery Barn - I think it may be the perfect addition to our Easter table!

Andrea & Mike

Andrea and Mike decided that they wanted to have an intimate wedding with family in Hawaii and then have a fantastic party upon their return. We wanted to carry over their Hawaiian theme and have many of the same elements at their party. You'll notice the nods to Lei's, coral, tropical flowers and many other tropical items.

The day of their September party, the town of Fairfield was issued a tornado watch {see picture below} and since the venue was right on the beach, we were a little nervous to say the least. We were very fortunate that a tornado didn't touch down, but the rain and wind was pretty bad. Laura of Laura Dee Photography was super sweet in having them take some wedding pictures following their party - we were only able to capture a few in between the rain. Check back for those adorable pictures in the coming weeks.

A Boston Engagement Shoot

This past weekend, Timothy and Lyndsay flew to Boston for their engagement photos. They wanted to encompass the historic Boston landscape while celebrating their love for one another and their excitement for what's to come in their lives, together. Val Nanovsky of Valdorama captured beautiful photos of the couple out and about in the city of Boston. In Boston, Valdorama had the opportunity to capture the couple near the water, in the subway and near the aquarium. Thank you Val for sharing these magnificent photos - we can't wait for the wedding in June!

Je T'aime Paris Party

Our lovely friend Sasha from Little Chiyo sent us this beautiful Je T'aime Paris shoot. We saw an image - of Sasha (who never models her tutu's) showcasing her new line of tutu table skirts, and we knew we had to feature her. The theme was 'Parisian Chic' and the color scheme consisted of shades of pink that had pops of black and white accents.

The beautifully styled sweets table was created by Tara from Cupcakes by Tara and featured delectable delights such as strawberry macarons and raspberry truffle Eiffel Tower cupcakes. There were also a selection of sweet filled apothecary jars, cheesecake pops and heart shaped coconut-flavored ices. Let's not forget to mention that the Eiffel Tower favour bags were from Bespoke Party Products and were dressed with Sasha's Fairy Floss Pink Table Tutu.

DIY Snow Globes

Spotted - DIY Monogram Mason Jar Snow Globes from our friend Alissa, founder of The Printed Palette. When I saw these, I knew I had to ask her to put together a tutorial. She did such a great job and this sounds super easy {and fun} that we are going to make a few last minute gifts this weekend!

Supplies:

Glue Gun
Mason Jars {wide mouth lids are the best}
Small Wooden Letter {via Michael's}
Glitter Spray Paint {translucent base} w/ gold or silver glitter
Tissue Paper Confetti {via Pom Love}
Fake Sparkle Snow {via Miniature Maker Supply}
Bottle Brush Trees
Scotch Self Stick Felt Pads {optional}
Small Paint Brush
Acrylic Paint {via Martha Stewart}

Instructions:

1) Paint your wooden letter(s) with your favorite paint color. Let dry. If you want to paint the tips of
your bottle brush tree, this is the perfect time to do so.

2) While your wooden letter is drying, spray paint the inside of your jar by holding the paint can steady
with one hand and slowly turn the jar with the other so that the glitter shows evenly throughout the
jar. Close the lid back up and give it a quick shake to be sure there is no excess glitter in a specific
area. While glitter is still wet, take a small (half dollar size) handful of the fake snow and spread
throughout the sides of the jar. This can be done by sprinkling with one hand and slowly turning the
jar with the other. Let dry.

3) Once your painted items are dry, you are ready to assemble! I use felt pads to elevate my monogram

letter and tree since the wide mouth jars are taller. This will also allow you to fit more pretty pom

confetti and snow at the bottom! Hot glue the felt pads to the bottom inside the jar's lid. Repeat if you

are using more than one. Hot glue the monogram and tree to the top of the felt pad(s). I like to glue

the letter to the middle of the felt pad and the tree off to the right or left side of the letter (depending

on which letter you are using). For example, if you are using the letter "K" you will want to glue the

tree to the left side. Let dry. *Tips for fun extras: I like to glue a fun little embellishment on the top

corner of the letter opposite the tree. I used paper rosettes from Lucky Girl Goods.

4) When your glued items are dry, fill your jar with pom confetti and fake snow (as much as you like).

Close your jar and shake until you like the way the confetti and snow looks. I also like to close mine

in such a way that the 'Ball' logo on the mason jar shows to the front where your monogram is.

It is fun to do with girlfriends and on certain steps, you can even get the kids involved! The most important thing to remember is to have fun!"

Minnie Mouse 2nd Birthday

This second birthday party is near and dear to us - it was for our little girl. She just loves Minnie and so I thought it would be a perfect theme for her. The fabulous invite, banner and printables are from Photo Designz on Etsy. Lori just took my vision and ran with it; everything was perfect.

I think my favorite decor item was the ribbon topiary. To make, I cut 3" strips of ribbon {and to save time I did this all at once}, folded in half and used a pin to secure on the foam. It was super easy, just took awhile. The Terra Cotta pots were sprayed pink and filled with rocks to hold the dowels. I then just used some crinkle paper to top them off so the rocks weren't visible.

We wanted to give Aurora's cousins little gift boxes. These adorable pink with white polka dot boxes were created by Rosie of Unique Boutique by GaMi. Rosie also created the 'thank you' labels for the front. The boxes were filled with all things Minnie Mouse - Pez dispenser, stickers, a mini stuffed animal and other goodies. The lovely custom fondant toppers were made by our sweet friend, Brittany, from Edible Details.

The glittered 'A' was a piece of foam that was spray painted a glitter pink. All the pieces were glued to dowels and placed into the pots and ribbon was adhered to the top.

A HUGE thank you to all of our vendors - the theme was changed last minute and everyone was so awesome in adjusting things accordingly and on such a tight deadline. It wouldn't have been possible without you!

The Helpers

There are some days that just change things forever. Horrific, tragic, earth-shattering moments that will change our world. With the tragedy that occurred so close to home, I can't even begin to comprehend how the families who lost a loved one, let alone a child, are coping.

Our little angel turned 2 yesterday. As we were opening presents and eating cake, I couldn't stop thinking about the parent's who will never celebrate another birthday with their child. As much joy as I felt, my heart was breaking.

I have been holding Miss. A closer - cuddling and kissing her more than I already do. My instinct is that I never want her to leave our side. That is not a reality. There are no words to describe what has happened or why it happened. When I saw this quote posted by Positively Splendid, I thought I had to share - Mr. Rogers is teaching a life lesson with his words.

Secret Garden Shoot

Our recent Secret Garden inspired shoot for DIY Weddings Magazine is one of my favorites to date. We shot on location at Topsmead State Forest in Litchfield, Connecticut. Since we had to wait till this issue went live, we've been anxiously waiting for the perfect time to share.

From Jennifer of Jennifer Lynn Events...The romantic grounds of Topsmead were the most ideal location for our "Secret Garden" photo shoot. The rich landscape is filled with bright, luminous flowers that create the perfect ambiance for any bride who dreams of an outdoor, country-esque wedding. We utilized nature in its own form by accenting the flowers, trees and grass with the bride's wedding gown. We didn't need to accessorize the bride with much more than an exquisite bracelet and vibrant florals since Topsmead already had copious amounts of options. That's the thing with country, outdoor weddings - you already have the stunning scenery.
