Vintage Me- Videos!!!

WOW!! I was just going through youtube and found some old cute videos of work I had done when I was Modeling and Acting... YEARS AGO!
I had booked a commercial / music video for Axe Body Spray when the term and body spray

"Boom Chicka Wah Wah"

came about. They flew us to Prague where we filmed in an Old Castle for a week, it was an amazing experience. My character was called "Adriana" aka " Chicka". I played a spoiled rich bitch - ( ironic LOL ) who's daddy funded our music group. We danced, we sang and I had the time of my life. It's so much fun to look back 5 years ago and see what I was doing, how I looked and how much I have grown up. I loved taking the subway in NYC, going to castings and booking jobs. It was a lot of fun!
So here is the video as well as the cute behind the scenes video from Axe Body Spray, I hope you enjoy.

I had also booked a music video with the artist Eamon. You will probably remember him best from his hit song "F*ck It"!! The video I appeared in is called "How Could You.. Bring Him Home". The song is about a guy ( eamon )who comes home to find his girlfriend ( me ) cheating on him. I had the time of my life filming this video. I never wanted to be a "music video girl" but I loved the charter I got to play here... I loved acting, the emotion and everything that went into it. Eamon is a really talented artist and has a naturally amazing voice. Im honored to have gotten the chance to work with him and his team.
Side note: I think I was about 21 years old here... My how time flies.

Meet my BBFFLAAF Blair

So you're probably wondering what BBFFLAAF stands for. Well, back when Blair and I were in Elementary school we decided that we both had other "best friends" but we wanted a title for each other that meant a little bit more than just best, SO we came up with

'Bestest Best Friend For Life Always And Forever'

Blair and I have been Best Friends since we were 2 years old, making us best friends for 25 years already. We met in Nursery school and attended the same schools all the way through high school.

Blair also happens to be 1 day older than me. Her birthday is February 16th and mine is February 17th.

We always had joint birthday parties and still did even at 21 !!!

We are so alike, yet so different; I truly consider her like a sister.

In 2009 I moved with my now husband from NY to CA leaving all of my family and friends behind. It was really hard for both Blair and I to not be together. Just the simple things like going to Taco Bell at 1am together, or our trips to Harmons Beauty Supply, dying each others hair and just bullshitting in bed together ... Not being able to just jump in my car and drive 2 minutes to her house was really hard. But, we have managed to not let the distance come between us. I travel to NY often to visit my family and friends, and she tries to come visit me in California 2-3x a year.

This past week she came to CA to visit me. When we are together we always act like "fools". We are REALLY silly together. The time and distance has 0 effect on our friendship, and we are very lucky for that. SO, we decided to make a fun little video of us at my pool. It really shows our silly side, a side that not many get to see, or probably even though I had. We had such a fun time jumping and diving into my pool, but MAN, its definitely NOT like when we were 10 years old. My back was KILLING me the next day LOL.. ahhhh! Anyway, I hope you enjoy my little video

I would like to make it clear that I did not sign myself and our company up for this grant and neither did my partner Lilly. A friend did and with good intentions, however I felt weird even posting it and asking for your vote! Its true, I am very blessed and fortunate. What I posted was true however that we are just a small business with the same odds as everyone else to either make it or not. But I do not NEED this grant and yes there are other companies out there that could use it much more than we could.

To those kind and generous people who understand where we are coming from and voted for us... a big THANK YOU! How I Met My Husband...Our Story

This is one of my most requested posts and I'm glad I finally got around to writing about it, so here we go.

I would like to begin my story with a few pages from a book ' My Psychic Stories '. Before Alki went on his business trip to America where he then met me, he saw one of London's Tops Psychics, Jayne Wallace. He had no idea what he was about to be told and then actually happen.

Please know, I am not glamorizing any of what happened above before I met Alki. The fact is, If there aren't any problems in someones relationship, there is no need for a person to leave their partner. The fact that everything went down the way it did is self explanatory; unfortunate, but meant to be the way it is.

Jayne and I became great friends. And when it came time to get married, I knew I wanted to have her be one of my bridesmaids in my wedding. After all, she did bring us together. Well, Alki's father did, but she delivered the message :)

Where It All Began For Me.

3 years ago in April 2009 I had just gotten out of a pretty bad 3 year relationship ( I'm a relationship type of girl ). It wasn't an easy breakup and didn't get better after we ended it either, but thats a whole other story.

It was about May, maybe June 2009 and I was downtown in the Fashion District ( I was living in NY at the time ) shopping for fabric to make some bikinis at home. A good friend of mine who lives between Florida and New York was in town visiting for a few days and happened to be a few blocks from where I was having a lunch meeting and told me to come by. So I finished up at the fabric store, got in my car and drove to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel where my friend was having lunch. As I walked in I spotted my friend and this man at the table, my friend saw me and waved me to come over. I gave my friend a hug and then he introduced me to Alki; "Jen this is Alki, we may be working on a project together". There stood Alki, Grown ( as in Grown ass man ), clean shaven, salt and pepper hair, in a grey suit dressed to a T, he stuck out his hand and said with his British Accent ( he is however Greek ) " Hello Jennifer, it's very nice to meet you". I remember exactly how I felt when we shook hands, and as we made eye contact... THE MOMENT we made eye contact and shook hands I KNEW he was THE ONE. Something inside told me " OMG this is the man I am going to marry" !!! I almost didn't know how to feel. I never had this feeling before. I mean of course when you have a boyfriend you talk about marriage and having babies , but this was different, this was real. I suddenly had this war going off in my head saying "Are you F*cking crazy, You just got out of a 3 year relationship and don't even know this guy, don't say things you don't mean". LOL I swear this is what was going on in my head as I sat down to have a quick bite to eat.
I got so nervous, I didn't even have an appetite and I didn't want to eat anything that I would risk getting something stuck in my teeth and not realize it. On top of that, I was in leggings, uggs and a white t-shirt ( I still have the same outfit I wore, I refuse to throw it away ), I had barely any makeup on, just SO NOT the way you want to look when you meet your future husband.

Alki was catching a flight that night back to London where he was living a the time. He asked for my info to keep in touch, but I was so nervous I gave him only my email address. LOL
He emailed me that evening before he boarded his flight. He said exactly this, "Things are going to get very complicated very soon". At the time I had no idea what that meant but it wasn't long before I found out.

Alki and I had kept in touch, and yes I finally gave him my phone number. He would Skype me during the day from his office in London showing me around and putting all of his employees on camera. He was like no one I had ever met. He was funny, charming, smart and a bad ass BOSS!!!! I would text him pictures of me making the "kissy" face. It was a new facial expression for him and he loved it. He too sent me the "kissy face" pictures which I still have today.

The next week I was working everyday during Market week in NYC modeling shoes. Alki told me he wanted to fly back to NY to see me since I would already be working in the city everyday I could come and meet him when I got out for dinner. I didn't know what to think. We had definitely gotten to know each other a lot better in the 2 weeks since he had been to NY but I never met someone who wanted to go so far out of their way just for ME! So the following week he came and after work I went over to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and met him in the lobby. He had reservations all booked at the amazing restaurant at the hotel,so we walked in and were seated at a booth over looking Manhattan. I don't remember what we were talking about but all of a sudden, in this fine restaurant he started drawing a penis on the table cloth.... and so I turned around and put my favorite sexual "character" on the table clothes as well. We both signed our names under our drawing and walked out. I was dying... I had really met someone as funny, free spirited and even more crazy than me. We just had so much fun together and the way he looked at me, the smile on his face- I knew he loved me.

2 days later Alki flew back to London. He wanted to take our relationship to the next level but mentally I just wasn't ready. After getting out of a bad relationship especially when it didn't end good, it's hard to just jump into another relationship. I was 24, an adult and I just wanted to be free and live my life without having to answer to anyone for a change. I KNEW I would end up with Alki. I knew we would get married, But I needed to be fair to myself and to him, and at that point in my life I couldn't give him 100% and for me, its all or nothing.

Since the moment Alki and I met and started "dating" and talking regularly we were both always 100% honest. Its the best way to be, because then you dont have to worry about covering your tracks and you can be and feel completely free.. and quite frankly, at that point I had nothing to lose. I told him exactly how I felt and he understood, but he was relentless. He literally followed me all over the US. If I traveled to Miami, he would meet me there, when I was in NY- even if I couldn't see him or I was busy he would show up at my house anyway... He was pretty much obsessed. He admits it and says how unhealthy it was for him. He literally couldn't work because all he wanted to do was be with me and the fact that he couldn't killed him. I was most definitely playing hard to get, but not to be a bitch but because I needed time to be alone before I got into my last relationship ever! I didn't feel bad, I needed to do what I needed to do.

He got my name tattooed before we were even engaged!!!

Long story short, we dated, we traveled together , he took me to Greece for the first time, showed me "his" Island, I met his kids and could totally see my life with him forever. 4 months since we met, about Late September I remember giving Alki a call. He was in London at that time. I told him exactly this... " I think I'm ready to take our relationship to the next level. I took the summer and did what I needed to do and my mind and head are completely clear and Im ready to give you 100%". SILENCE..... Nothing but SILENCE... Finally he said " OK, I agree, Ill come to see you tomorrow Im booking my flight now". I couldn't wait to see him.

The next day he landed in NY. He asked me to come get him but he landed in the middle of NYC Rush hour traffic and I decided to call him a car service instead ( ~~such a bitch~~ ). He arrived at my house pretty late. He said hello to my family ( which he had already met a few times ) before they went to bed and then him and I watched some TV together while he ate. We then walked upstairs to my old bedroom/ guest room ( I had 2 bedrooms) where I grew up in and where we would spend the night; all of my dolls were still in the cabinets. We shut off all the lights, got into bed and shortly after Alki placed a box on my stomach. My stomach dropped, I think I went numb and I was short of breath. I sat up immediately and asked "What is this !" I wouldn't even touch the box. In the back of my mind I knew what it was, Alki is crazy like that and after only 4 months of knowing each other I knew he was crazy enough to do something like this. When he knows what he wants, he gets it! He said "open it", but I couldn't. He pulled out a flashlight, shined it on the box and opened it. There , in the tiny red box was an ENORMOUS DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RING!!! The biggest I had ever seen in my life. I couldn't believe my eyes. Alki had asked me a few months ago what style ring I liked and all I said was " Round ", not thinking anything especially after 4 months!!! He did this ALL ON HIS OWN, and he did SO GOOD!!! Back to the story... As the flashlight hit the diamond ring in my pitch black bedroom, it made all kinds of shapes of light reflecting all over my walls and ceiling. He then started telling me exactly how he felt since the moment he met me, how he had never felt this way and how things had NEVER felt so right. With the diamond ring still in the box, and my jaw still on the floor I was in shock. He didn't actually come out and say "Will you marry me" so I wasn't really sure what I was suppose to do. He then told me to put it on, so I did, and it fit perfect! The only thing I remember myself saying was " Oh My God, Oh My God ".

I don't remember how the rest of the evening went but I do remember waking up and double checking my ring finger to see if this had actually happened. It was real, this had happened and I was engaged !!! The next morning when I told my mom Alki had proposed, she wasn't entirely shocked because she knew how much Alki loved me and knew how I felt about him, but when she saw the ring she couldn't believe her eyes... No one could. The only problem was that not many of my friends or family had actually met alki. Some of my closest friends knew about an him, and my mom, step dad and brother had actually met him a few times, but when my mom and I made phone calls to our family the first things out of their mouthes was " She's engaged... to WHO ?" LOL . It was sort of awkward but a time to celebrate. That afternoon we met my father for lunch, it was the first time my dad had actually met Alki in person, but he knew all about him from my mom and I!
The news spread like wild fire around my town that I was engaged to a "Billionaire" and that my ring cost "more than a Lamborghini ". It was pretty funny.
We had a long engagement and married almost 2 years later in May 2011.

We quickly went back to Greece to celebrate, then to London then back to NY. I packed my things and in October 2009 we moved to California. We didn't have a home yet so we stayed at the L'Ermitage in Beverly Hills for 2 months while we shopped for our dream house. We finally found it, and in December 2009 we moved in, right before Christmas. Along with the excitement of moving into a DREAM House, Alki also surprised me with my DREAM CAR- a brand new 2010 Convertible Bentley GTC SPEED !!!! My life was and still is, my Dream!!!

Still to this day Alki opens all doors for me and treats me like a princess. We have the best relationship I have ever had, and he has ever had!! We continue to make communication a key component in our relationship. If something bothers us, or we are feeling a certain way, we talk about it. We never keep secrets- unless its to plan a surprise party for the other, and we always make alone time a priority. My favorite thing to do is to be just Alki and I. I look forward to the evenings and weekends where we get to be alone and do whatever, even if it's nothing at all.

A relationship is without a doubt hard work. But if the person is worth it, you enjoy putting in your all for the relationship.

Alki is my best friend, my soul mate... He is my everything. Our relationship may not be conventional but there is no book of rules on LOVE. We LOVE each other more than anything, and respect each other completely. To me, he is the most handsome, kind, caring person I know. He is willing to help anyone, he's smart, charming, sometimes crazy and has the most addicting laugh I have ever heard. He is also sloppy, forgetful, stubborn at times, but when you love someone, you love ALL of them, good bad, ugly and sad.

He adores me , and I adore him <3

I love him when he farts, when he burps, and when he stinks up the bathroom. I love him when he forgets to get me a card for my birthday, and christmas and valentines day and our 1 year anniversary LOL. I love him when he snores, steals all of the blankets while we sleep, and when he leaves a trail of clothing in the bedroom to the bathroom and repeatedly walks over it without picking anything up. I love him when he messes up my clean kitchen, leaves banana peels on the counter when the garbage is right there and when he yells "where are my keys" EVERY SINGLE MORNING without fail! I think about him every second, of every minute of every day. I get so excited when I hear his car pull through the gate that I run down the stairs like a little kid to meet him at the door!!!

Most people see our relationship from the outside looking in. I get how people can judge us and assume certain things. But 3 years later ( in LA thats like 15 years LOL) we are still going strong and have no end in sight. I see us growing old together like all of my grandparents are. I always said " I want a Notebook movie kind of love". Im very traditional at heart, and when I said "till death do us part" I meant it.

Alki, I Love you without knowing how, or when or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way.

Homemade Juices and more !!!

Summer is officially here and besides ice pops, Fresh homemade juices are a necessity for Hot Summer days. When Alki and I first moved to California, all I wanted was a juicer. We were given one as an engagement gift from my family and have been addict to it ever since. Not having any idea where to start with juicing I ran to Barnes and Noble and picked up a few books on juicing; I also needed some books for my bookshelf anyway so it was perfect :)

I knew for sure I loved Cucumber- but didn't know what health benefits it had as far as eating and juicing. And of course Carrots are great for your eyes... but what else? If I was going to juice I wanted to do it right and know exactly what I was drinking and what it's benefits were, especially if I was going to be feeding these questionable colored juices to my husband. Along with information in the books I bought, I also did some research online.

So today I laid out all day by my pool. Being in the sun for so long I felt really dehydrated and desperately needed a juice pick me up. I picked out whatever I had in my fridge and decided to make a fresh juice for my hubby and I- No juice recipe book needed today LOL. But I did go through a few to choose a some juices that looked good so I know what to buy when I go Food shopping tomorrow.

With a juicer at home, you get to keep the left over skin or pulp from the fruit and veggies and use for a number of things. I read online that you can put it in your dogs food, which I did and they loved it. I also read people have taken the left overs and made dried fruit leathers with it, mixed it into muffins and added it to a compost pile in their yard. If you think about how much money you spend at a juice shop, whole foods or a restaurant for a juice - having your own juicer is well worth it.

I lined it with a zip lock bag because I like to keep the pulp and use it for a number of different things. Also makes for an easier cleanup.

The color is a mucky green brown- BUT tastes incredibly healthy and refreshing

The left overs I will feed to my dogs in their food. I have also read people using it as a natural face scrub and putting it tint the dirt when they plant mew flowers. Why throw it away when you can do so much with it :)

The Juicer we have is a Breville Stainless Steel Juice and Blend . The Breville company offers many juicers at different prices and I have been really happy with it. It's also very easy to clean which is important. The Jack Lalannes Power Juicer Express I've heard is a good one and is also sold on ebay, amazon.com, Officemax and Kohls- although having said that- the ratings on amazon don't seem amazing for this juicer. The Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice Extractor also looks like it is good, is only $65 on amazon.com and has 4 out of 5 stars; 716 reviews!!! If you don't have a juicer you should definitely invest in one; Its a great appliance to have .

I went through some of the books and found it so useful that they included in the beginning what each veggie and fruit was good for. I included a few recipes that sounded super yummy and not too involved. Having given up meat in January of this year I found that I started bruising a lot more easily due to the lack of iron in my body. Spinach is a great source of Iron but I can't stand eating it all the time. With a juicer I can mix it in with and apple and other fruits to mask the taste and still get all the nutrients my body needs!

I think the wheatgrass powder can be found at whole foods!! Haven't tried it yet

I thought these were interesting. It tells you the condition and then next to it what veggies they recommend you consume to help with the problem. Very Interesting!

Another Super healthy veggie that I love and just found out its a natural diuretic is BEETS!!! I love putting beets into my juicer and having fresh beet juice, it's so refreshing and has amazing benefits.

When I lived in NY I would eat these pickled beets right out of the jar! I LOVED them- but only this particular brand.

They are nothing special, you can buy them anywhere but they are sooooo yummy. I would buy the sliced one though :)

The pigment in Beets is called Betalains- and we can thank them for their function both as antioxidants and anti-inflammatory.

" The pigments that give beets their rich colors are called betalains. There are two basic types of betalains: betacyanins and betaxanthins. Betacyanins are pigments are red-violet in color. Betanin is the best studied of the betacyanins. Betaxanthins are yellowish in color. In light or dark red, crimson, or purple colored beets, betacyanins are the dominant pigments.

The betalain pigments in beets are water-soluble, and as pigments they are somewhat unusual due to their nitrogen content. Many of the betalains function both as antioxidants and anti-inflammatory molecules. At the same time, they themselves are also very vulnerable to oxidation (change in structure due to interaction with oxygen). In addition to beets, rhubarb, chard, amaranth, prickly pear cactus, and Nopal cactus are examples of foods that contain betalains.

not your nonna's gnocchi

I ran across a fun way to use beets, in gnocchi! They look beautiful and taste great too! I have to admit that I don't enjoy the earthiness of beets, but loved this recipe because the parmesan and ricotta balanced the strong flavor. If you love beets, use more than the recipe calls for.

Here is the recipe (makes 4 main-course servings):

3-4 small beets, trimmed
1 pound fresh ricotta cheese
1 large egg
3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 cups flour, divided
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
2 tbsp olive oil
fresh rosemary sprigs, or bunch of basil, chopped
Additional Parmesan cheese, shaved
Additional basil leaves, to garnish

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Wrap beets in foil and roast until tender, about 1 hour. Cool 15 minutes. Slip skin off beets; discard skins. Coarsely grate beets. Place grated beets in large bowl. Stir in ricotta, egg, 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Mix in 1 cup flour. (Gnocchi dough can be made 1 day ahead. Cover and refrigerate.)

Lightly dust baking sheet with flour. Place remaining flour in small bowl. Using a tablespoon as aid, scoop dough into small rounds; transfer to bowl with flour, roll to coat. To shape the gnocchi: hold a salad fork in one hand so the tip rests on the work surface at a 45-degree angle. Place a piece of the dough at the top of the tines with your free thumb in the center. In one gentle motion, quickly press and roll the dough along the tines to make groves in one side of the dumpling. The other side will have a small dent from your thumb, perfectly suited for holding a sauce. Transfer gnocchi to prepared baking sheet. (Can be prepared 6 hours ahead. Cover and refrigerate.)

Melt butter with rosemary or basil in heavy large skillet over medium heat. Cook until butter begins to brown, about 3 minutes. Add olive oil, set aside. Working in batches, cook gnocchi in large pot of simmering salted water, 3 1/2 minutes. Using slotted spoon, transfer gnocchi to skillet with butter, olive oil and rosemary/basil. Heat over medium heat, stirring gently to coat. Transfer to plate; sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese, garnish with basil leaves and serve.

My next appliance splurge will be on a dehydrator so I can make my own dried fruits and not have to worry about what has been added to them. Yummy healthy snacks!!

Meet your Designers!!!

Lilly and I are so excited about our very first Designer Profile, out this month in Regard Magazine.

You may not know this but Lilly and I both merged our swimwear lines, Have Faith Swimwear and Femme Noir Swimgerie, to create the powerhouse brand we now call Have Faith Swimgerie.

The merge was natural as we had the same vision, the same goals and both brought different yet very important things to the table. But it wasn't all business, Lilly and I became best friends first, before realizing we had way more in common than just us owning a swimwear line. We both consider ourselves Fashionistas, we both have the same tastes, we could pass as sisters although I am Italian and she is Persian- ( we call ourselves Persalian ) and we even drive the same cars, but amongst many other things we believe this was meant to be. Deep into our first season together it couldn't have been better.

Dimitry from Regard Magazine shot us for our first ever designer profile at my house in Beverly Hills. The pictures came out amazing and Lilly and I are so excited to share our story with you.

Regard Magazine Interview

With all the various aspects fashion available, what made you decide to design swimwear?

Once upon a time, a girl didn't have too many options with swimwear. You could either get a basic, boring bikini, or a barely there, skimpy string bikini. As fashion lovers, we found it difficult to find a bikini that expressed our individuality, made us feel sexy, and maintained class. Therefore, we decided to make our own! We both love to design, not just swimwear, but we felt that swimwear really needed a fashion revolution, so we decided to start one.

Prior to joining forces, you both had your individual companies, Have Faith Swimwear and Femme Noir Swimgerie. What was your concept behind each one?

Have Faith Swimwear:

Growing up, Jennifer wasn't always able to afford the hottest, trendiest swimwear; and, being a model, she could never find a bikini that would accentuate her curves the way she felt they should be.

Coming from a background of seamstresses, and knowing how to sew, Jennifer started designing and sewing all of her own bikinis. She would attend pool parties in both Miami and Vegas wearing her hand sewn bikinis and girls would always ask her where she got her bikini from, and would tell her how much they loved it. Having just moved to CA, she decided to turn her talents into a swimwear line, sharing her curve accentuating cuts with everyone. Jennifer's ultimate goal is to bring girls glamorous, amazing quality made swimwear at an affordable price!

Femme Noir Swimgerie:

Personally, I was fed up and frustrated with boring basic bikinis, or skimpy barely there string bikinis that lacked style and class. Despite the fact that I'm an attorney, fashion and design had always been a passion of mine, therefore I decided to create my own swimwear line.

I wanted to create a line that eluded sex appeal, yet was still ultra-luxurious and classy. For inspiration, I looked to lingerie instead of swimwear trends. I never felt sexy at the pool in a swimsuit, but I always felt sexy in lingerie, so I tried to capture the allure that lingerie provides and incorporate it into my swimwear. The result was something I felt wasn't quite swimwear, yet wasn't quite lingerie, so, I decided to merge the two names and I created the term "Swimgerie": Lingerie Inspired Swimwear.

Women have become so liberated in last 50 years, I felt it was about time our Swimwear evolved also.

So now, you've now combined both brands as Have Faith Swimgerie. Why did you decide to move in this direction and what do you have planned for future collections?

Jenn and I went from being competitors, to best friends. Our lines were quite different, so we never felt any sort of competition between us; however, we quickly realized that we had the same goals in mind (to offer the best quality, most flattering, cost effective bikini), and that combining forces would create a powerhouse swimwear brand that would offer women so many different styles, and types of swimwear. Have Faith - Swimgerie was born. Each season, the label releases two collections. A fun, flirty, glamorous collection of Swimwear, and a sensual, seductive, lingerie inspired collection of “Swimgerie.”

For future collections, we plan on really glamming out the bikini with all sorts of jewels, appliqués, and fun hard-wear. We also plan on taking the term "Lingerie inspired Swimwear" to a whole new level. Men may very well begin to confuse the bedroom with the beach as underwear is suddenly going to look a lot more like outerwear! We think world is ready.

Swimwear is not an easy business to be in. What challenges and benefits have you seen in your line of work!

Swimwear is a difficult business, most people don't realize just how much work goes into designing, producing and selling swimwear. Sometime, we get criticism from people claiming that it's not difficult to design a little top and bottom to a bikini, or sometimes think we just go shopping and tanning all day. Reality couldn't be farther from that, we bust our behinds day in and day out with the brand.

Challenges arise everyday. From production mistakes to material crises, in the garment industry, challenges are the norm. We try to take things one day at a time, tackle one problem at a time. Having a partner has really helped in this respect. Areas where one is weak and would regularly panic, the other is strong and tackles the issue, and vise versa.

Although, it may be stressful and challenging, the benefits of our business are tremendous. Creating something from nothing, and then watching it grow and succeed is so rewarding and instills an incredible amount of pride in us. We get thank you letters from girls that love their suits almost everyday, and even photos from customers that want to express their appreciation on how sexy they feel in their Have Faith Swimgerie Bikini.

We also have a huge celebrity following, which is really fun. We've seen our suits grace the covers of some of the biggest magazines on some of the hottest stars, and that is very rewarding.

Besides Have Faith Swimgerie, who are your other favorite fashion designers and must haves for your personal closet?

Both Jenn and I are are huge fashionistas! We love to have fun with fashion and our closets. Some of our favorite fashion designers include Helmut Lang, Vince, Rag and Bone, J Brand, ALC, Dsquared, Christian Louboutin and Chanel. Although designer labels have a special place in our hearts and our closets, we still find amazing pieces at more cost conscious stores such as Forever 21, H&M, and even second hand thrift stores.

We both feel it’s not about the price tag, or brand name, but rather how the girl wears the item.

Congratulations, on your success thus far. We wish you the best with your brand. What advice do you have for other up and coming swimwear designers?

Don't let other people make you feel insecure about your designs or your dream. Believe in yourself because if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you either..

Lately my friends and I will go to thrift stores, consignment shops and second hand stores- find amazing dresses and then have them tailored to fit like a glove. It makes the world of a difference and will make you look like a million bucks with such an amazing fit! You can find so many jewels at second hand shops and no one would ever know!

I have also taken out my hair extensions and only use clips in mainly at night when I go out for dinner. Please see my last blog "Product Haul" to see what I'm using to strengthen my hair.

So years years ago, before I started getting lip injections, I saw a commercial or infomercial about this lip plumper by Cynthia Rowland. It looked so amazing that I bought it. My friends bought it too and we all LOVED IT!!!

It's kind of like a P*nis Pump" but for your lips LMAO... Anyway, After looking at my old pictures from my last post "Vintage Me" my girlfriend reminded me how we used to carry it around with us in our bags and pump our lips in the car and so on.. We were OCD with it.

Beacon's Closet- SO I used to spend a lot of time in Brooklyn when I lived in NY and I would DIE to go shop at this place. It's like a thrift store but HUGE and has both current an vintage items. I would spend HOURS in this place. I bought a pair of Robins Jeans for $16.00 and they were practically brand new. I used to get so many amazing pieces there. Its definitely a place you need to spend time in and rummage though the racks; but SO worth it. I also like this place because you can " Buy, Sell and Trade". When you clean out your closet, bring your old stuff to them and they will give you 2 different prices for your trade ins; one for cash, or one to trade for other items.. SO awesome.

Lohmans- Has designer goods; clothes, shoes, jewelry, sunglasses, lingerie, mens.... everything. Some of their prices can be high but they are definitely lower than buying them in a regular store.

Nordstrom's Rack- LOVE Nordstroms. Nordstroms Rack is a "discounted" Nordstrom of all their "last season" clothing. Lots of goodies!

Forever21- Obviously has super cute clothing and amazing prices...

Hollister- I LOVE Hollister. Their shorts are my favorite fit and all their long sleeve shirts fit amazing. Their cuts rare just so amazing and super casual sexy. Cheaper than Abercrombie and way cuter if you ask me.

EBAY- You can find anything on ebay, and trust me I have. Some of my most Glamorous friends shop on ebay as well. The key is to check the sellers feedback and to see how many items this person has sold before. Paying through paypal really protects both the buyer and the seller and I have not had a problem with ebay or paypal ever! I like to sell some of my clothes and shoes on there as well.

Guilt.com- This is a website similar to ebay but they have exclusive designers that are different everyday. Its a "members only" site. All you have to do is visit the site and request to become a member. Then they send you an email with your login and password. One day this website had Herve Leger dresses not he site- SO CHEAP and they literally sold out in less than a minute. Check out the site to learn more.

ASOS.com- I have blogged about this site before but wanted to share it again. This post has a wide range of different brand from super cheap to pretty expensive. I have gotten the cutest dresses for so cheap yet they look and feel really expensive; my kind of buy :)

Daffy's - I used to find really amazing things at Daffy's. They have designer brands at discount prices. One of ym favorite jackets that Is tills ear to this day is from there. Look amazing for less <3

Joyce Leslie- I think this shop only exists in NY. I used to live there. Every week my girl friends and I would go and buy an outfit that we would were out that weekend. The prices are amazing, and Is till go there for smile t shirts, tanks, and leggings.

Boscia- Makeup breakup cool cleansing oil - I really like this. I use it when my skin is getting kind of dry .

Put it on a dry face and massage, then rinse and do a send wash with a wash cloth to ensure all makeup is off.

Don't be scared by the "Oil", its really light and hasn't broken me out.

Benefit- Foamingly Clean facial wash

Clarisonic Mia- light pink.

I bought the Clarisonic Mia when it first came out> When I first tried it I felt like it was breaking me out. But After people swearing up and down about it , I decided to give it a second chance. With it I use the Benefit- flamingly clean facial wash. It smalls really nice and gets my skin really clean. I mainly use this in the shower and mainly on the weekends when I wear foundation at night.. So far, amazing results :)

Sephora sells replacement brushes for the clarisonic. I bought 2 different kinds but have been using the deep cleaning

You may or may not know but I recently took out ALL of my hair extensions and have been rocking my natural hair for about a month now. When I first took them out, my natural hair was horrible. I recently used the tinted body lotion and loved the color it turned me. I also used it on my face and it was fine.

I will warm you however, that once you apply a coat of it and it dries, don't go back over it adding more. It gets all cake and although I have never looked blotchy after washing it off, it does and will look blotchy on your skin. I try my best to get it as smooth looking as I can but... sh*t happens LOL. All in all, I like the color i am after I have slept with it on.

Apparently Derma Blend is for people with severe acne, scars and /or tattoos. BUT Lilly and I decided to give it a try, because it it could cover up all of that, then it must be amazing. DIY: 2 Ways to Turn Winter Shirts into Summer Shirts!

While transferring out some winter clothes to my alternate closet I found a few shirts I never wore and quite frankly, didn't think were that cute on. I also just received a shirt in the mail that I LOVED on the website but was disappointed with the fit when I received it, so added it to my pile of "Things to alter" as well.
In the summer I love to wear high waist bell bottom jeans with cropped tops. So I decided to turn this long sleeve plaid shirt into a cropped short sleeve shirt.

Here's how:

Sort of boring and never worn. While you have the shirt on make sure to mark where your desired length is for the sleeves and the length of the shirt before cutting it.

Lay shirt on the floor making sure all the seams are flat and even.

Cut straight across at the point where you made your mark. Using a ruler or anything with a straight edge will make this easier if your shirt does not have stripes like mine does.

Cut sleeve at mark, then lay the sleeve on top of the other to assure accuracy on the length for both sides.

And there you have it. A super cute cropped top with short sleeves. You can make them as long or as short as you want. Just roll and secure with a needle and thread on the inside arm.

Another cute way to transform some old cotton shirts is like this:

Cute shirt, Boring fit. Again, mark where you will start your cutting. For this shirt Ill cut from the neck line down .

Lay the shirt out flat, again, lining up all the seams so it lays flat and perfect.

Start cutting from the neck line area down since this area needs to be 100% even.

I wanted my entire sides to show in this shirt so I left only 3 inches above the bottom of my shirt. Once you cut one arm off, lay it on top of the next and use it as a guide.

Holla! A super cute tank with revealing sides. Perfect for summer.

Now, if your neck line doesn't allow you to wear it off the shoulder, I reposted a DIY post I did a while ago; this will help complete your shirt.

Rock a sexy little lacy bra under it or were it to the gym with a sports bra :)

Here is what the T-shirt looked like when I bought it. A boring neck line that just did nothing for me.

All I did was take a pair of scissors and cut around the neck line first in the front ( grey bottom piece) .

Then I cut in half the back piece so it still had some structure to the neck line (2nd down)

Then I tried it on and thought it could use just a TINY bit more off the front (3rd down)

And WALLLAAAA!!!! HOW CUTE is it now.. and SOOOO simple

And you wouldn't even know I cut it up myself :)

Soo cute and great for summer. You know how I LOVE my off the shoulder shirts :)

This is why I got the shirt. How sick is the back!

I want nothing more in Life than to have the love that my grandparents have in their late 80's and 90's. I still have all 4 of my grandparents; 2 that are in the mid- late 80's and 2 that are both 94 years old. All 4 are still together!

My life may be unconventional but I am very traditional at heart. I enjoy and cherish the phases in life- ( i.e.- dating, then getting engaged, then getting married, then having a baby...) and so on.

My mother posted a picture of 2 of my grandparents while my grandpa was in the hospital recently. Looking at this picture of them, it brought tears to my eyes. They are both so happy to be together, laughing and smiling at each other and holding hands... I want what they have.
They are still so in love and have been together since they were both so young. I took the photo and added a quote that I really love and keep dear to me. I hope you enjoy <3

With the great response I got on my first "Make-Up UNDO" video I decided to tape a Full DO and UNDO of everything that goes into getting ready for a night out. I did my makeup, my hair and showed you what I wore out. But the best part is coming home and taking it all of, and I mean ALL OFF..
No one ever shows that and I thought it would be a cool concept, so I did it.
At the end it is just me... and thats what I want to show...
Im human, I have Flaws, I have feelings, I get pimples and my hair is not perfect.

Hey Girls.

So, I know I have done a makeup tutorial before along with lots of other girls but I haven't come across anyone who has done a video of themselves taking it all of... as in their makeup LOL.. I thought it would be a cool concept and decided to give it a try.

Here is my mini video.. Im calling it the "Makeup Undo"..

I just came home from Dinner on a Saturday night and decided to take it all off in front of the camera. I started with my fake eyes lashes, then to my lips, then my jewelry, eye makeup, face makeup etc.. Then I take out my ponytail and ALL of my clip in extensions as I do not have any hair extensions in at the moment. At the end its just me... and thats what I wanted to show... Im human, I have feelings, I get pimples and my hair isn't perfect.

So my hard work has paid off!!

Our swimwear line Have Faith Swimgerie just released 6 NEW bikinis last night. We were holding out this long because we had a new site designed since our merger and wanted it to be a HUGE Launch!! But because we had to push back our photoshoot; which I will be in this time, we decided to just choose 6 to tease everyone for what will be coming. We have 30 bikinis to launch this summer. In 2 weeks we will launch the new site for Have Faith Swimgerie and another 8 bikinis. Then every 2 weeks following we will release a few new bikinis!!! Day 3 & 4 of my Isagenix cleanse !!

I just completed my 3rd and 4th day on my Isagenix cleanse. I started at 114lbs and I did get down to 110.4lbs yesterday but then went out for dinner ( oops ) and even though I ate very little, the scale this morning says 111.6lbs. STILL- 3lbs less in 4 days and Im only trying to lose about 5-7lbs tops so it was ok for me.

Day 3

I woke up and made my juice cleanse.

9am-I mixed a handful of ice cubes with 8oz of water, added my 2 scoops of cleanse for life ( I got the power form instead of the juice form because the juice needs to be refrigerated) and then I put it all in my magic bullet blender and drank right out of the cup. Isagenix also sells a great blender so if you need one I recommend one of the 2 for sure; they are so easy! Also took my accelerator pill

Isagenix Snacks

11am- I set my alarm to remind me to eat a snack 2 hours later. I try my best to stay on schedule. I also drank 1 bottle of water

1pm- Juice number 2.

130pm- I had 2 of the IsaDelight plus chocolates that Isagenix says you can have 30 min before your Isagenix snacks- so I took this opportunity to indulge lol.

-- The IsaDelights are filled with amino acids and can help curb your cravings. They come in both dark and milk chocolate.

2pm- I had 2 isagenix snacks and a full bottle of water.

4pm- 3rd Juice and took an accelerator pill

530pm- 2 more IsaDelights Chocolates

6pm- 2 snacks and a full glass of water

8pm- 4th and last juice for the day!

Its important to keep yourself busy. After this juice day I went back to Isagenix and ordered a bunch of their approved snacks for the shake day. Im not gonna lie, I so badly wanted to eat on the juice day, I got hungry quite a few times during the day and was so tempted. I read just now that you can have a few small slices of apple or pear- which would have helped a lot. The only thing that motivated me ws actually seeing a difference.

Here are my measurements on day 3:

Height- 5'6"
Weight- 111.2lbs

Neck- 11.7"

Heres what I started with

Day 3

Im super happy with the results I'm seeing so far. Even my skin is looking better. I still have 6 days left on my actual cleanse because the first 2 shake days were only prep days. But even still, in those first 2 shake days I saw a difference and lost weight.

Day 4-

So day 3 was good for me, I stayed home, I painted, I worked in my office ran to the post office... nothing strenuous. Well, day 4 I had planned on seeing my trainer. I was feeling good, looking good and excited to get into the gym. BIG MISTAKE! I was trying to lift and squat and do all the normal exercises I do every week, but I just had no energy. My ears kept getting clogged, my legs were shaking.. I normally for 3 sets per exercise and after the first round I was pretty much giving up. I should have just went and did a bunch of cardio. I told my trainer Lauren Kern that I think Im going to end my session early today; she couldn't even believe it. Instead of quitting she lowered all my weights and made me finish. Im happy I did but I just wanted to say how I felt working out hard on my cleanse day because someone had asked me for my opinion.

After the gym I had to run some errands and got pretty tied up. By the time I got home I was starving so I cheated and ate 1 tofu chicken patty.. It was my own fault for doing to much and not staying on schedule. Anway, 30 minuted after that I picked back up with my juice and carried on.... Until my husband came home and wanted to go for dinner... Which I did. I had 4 pieces of salmon sashimi and some brown rice. But I still have 6 days left and am doing so good already so I allowed myself to go, but I wasn't happy about it...

Day 5- Back to business

Today I'm back on to my shake day and Im super excited. This is something I see myself doing even when Im not cleansing hardcore. I really enjoy the shakes and believe its detoxing my body and helping me lose weight. I got my husband to finally try the shakes and he couldn't believe how good it was. He told me he felt really "clean" and energized and the shake filled him up enough that he didn't want or need to eat anything else; and for my husband thats a really good sign.

I did have a training session booked for today but I decided to cancel and try Pilates for the first time with my friend Paula. Im hoping it will be a lot easier than lifting was yesterday.

Its currently 830am here in california and I am going to drink a glass of water now and then at 9am have my first shake!!!

Im super excited because today my 2nd order from Isagenix should arrive. I went back and ordered a bunch more of their products which Ill list below. I should have just got the presidents pak and split it with my husband, then we would have had all the goodies and saved money. Note for next time!
