This little guy made his way into the world about 4 weeks ago. He was awake through most of the session and barely complained about it. He had his bottle, his pacifier and his mommy & daddy. What more can a baby need!

Greg & Candace

It becomes harder and harder to choose blog pics for weddings lately. I want to tell the story of the wedding day (without posting 100′s of photos for people to scroll through) but I want to add just enough so people can get a feel for the day. So bare with me here…I picked quite a few.
I think it goes without me saying that Candace and Greg are made for each other. You can see that in every pic of them together. They can’t take their eyes off each other. They can’t make a move without wanting the other with them. They don’t want to walk the dog, tweet or run to Starbucks alone. They are the perfect accessory for each other. They compliment and enhance each other. I figured that out in the 5 hours I was with them that day. And I’m sure everyone else who was at the wedding already knows this about them! It was a beautiful wedding for these soulmates. Shaun and I had a blast sharing your day with you at Dolce in Norwalk! All the happiness to you both!

Greg gave Candace an exquisite Cartier love bracelet! (I’m giving the “hint, hint” to Shaun!!)

Candace made all the jewelry that she wore and her bridesmaid’s wore. She also put together the bouquets and invitations. She rocks!

Family Fun

This session took place on a humid evening last week. The sound of live music was coming from the patio of Lucky Lou’s in Old Wethersfield while this family was having a great time playing in the gardens behind the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum.

Baskets & Caterpillars

This adorable litte guy is only 6 days old. I can’t even remember what it was like when my children were 6 days old. (Probably because I was so sleep deprived!) Blake was calm through most of this session until it came time for the basket. His mom really wanted some basket shots and he was protesting! Even though he cried and got tired of having his picture taken (granted we were putting him in spots all over the house!) his big sis just loved holding him. She is his second mother. Blake is one lucky boy!

I never cry at weddings….

I guess I should rephrase that – I never USUALLY cry at weddings. This one however, was the exception.
I was very lucky to have been chosen to shoot Kate & Morgan’s wedding at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills in Middletown CT. (I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned once or twice that I LOVE it here so it was great to shoot a wedding here)
The first email I received from Morgan stated that they wanted to meet with me about shooting the wedding, and that they were only looking to have people involved who were supportive of their marriage. After attending the wedding that day I do believe that they have the most supportive friends and family that I have ever met! They said the most heartfelt vows (written by them!) and there couldn’t have been a dry eye in the place. Every speech that was made and every hug that was given made it clear that Kate & Morgan are two people whom everyone LOVES to have in their lives.

I loved every little detail that was at the reception

They chose not to see each other before the ceremony so everything would be a surprise. It WAS a surprise when they both walked down the isle with almost matching dresses on!

Back at the Barns

Amy has a wonderful way about her. She’s a dancer and it is obvious in the way she moves. She was very comfortable in front of the camera. This is something I appreciate not only as a photographer but also because I have never been totally comfortable in front of the camera myself!
We were at the Barns at Wesleyan Hills (stay tuned for another post from a wedding I shot there!) Thanks to Kelsey for her help on this shoot – she was great at pointing out some new spots to use there!

Cameron

Boy, time flies when you’re having fun. I can’t believe it was back in January when I first met Cameron. He was a tiny little thing who didn’t mind having his picture taken. But now, things have really changed. I think for the last 6 months Cameron has been prepping for this session. He pulled out all his great modeling faces while I was there. I barely have any pics of him NOT smiling! And believe me, it’s one of the cutest, two-little-teeth-smiles I have ever seen!

This one cracks me up!

A Little Girl on the Way

The storm clouds rolled into Old Wethersfield threatening us with some thunder during this session….but the first raindrops fell just as I was taking the last few pics.
I love this location. I’ve shot here numerous times and it never gets old. I find a new spot to love each time I come. And this time the new spots were filled with this great couple! Amy looks so wonderful pregnant. She was about 4cm dilated during this session and we were a little worried the baby might come before we got a chance to take the pics. But the stars aligned (or at least the storm clouds did!) and we were able to have this amazing session.

It was great to meet this little guy – his family has been anxiously awaiting his arrival! When I was at their house for the pregnancy session I remember seeing his empty room with a few little baby items on the floor. Their front room was full of little baby goodies that were received from the baby shower. And now here he is! We went back up to his room for some shots and his crib was set up and those baby items were placed around his room.
And he was just perfect.

I thought this was soo cute – he just turned 1 month old so they had a sticker to put on his onsie. They have one for each month to place on him and take his pic until he turns 1 year old!

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee – Middletown Teen Theater

This post is about DRAMA.. not the kind you find all over the television now-a-days. More like the kind that makes a photo jump out and grab you, or more like the kind that great actors produce every time they get into character. As you can tell from the images below the cast of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” knows how to bring drama. This cast consists of Students, Alumni and Staff of Middletown Teen Theater.

Middletown Teen Theater is a local theater camp for various ages that is put on Ali Sinicrope and her hand picked staff. They have summer and vacation camps where your child can learn the ins and outs of performance theater (not to mention, the character building that comes along with it) from an extremely talented staff. Don’t believe me? Check out “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” at the Middletown High School, June 24-26th at 7pm for all three shows. You can purchase tickets online here.
