Finally Outside!

The weather is finally warming up a little and we were able to go outside and enjoy the sunshine for part of this session. Despite a little snow left on the ground, we walked around this couple’s beautiful, spacious yard and took advantage of some late day sun. Their dog, Gypsy, had to get in on the action too. She loved being the center of attention! But I don’t think she’ll mind sharing the spotlight once the baby arrives. Stay tuned for some pics once the baby is here!

A trip to the city

I had the pleasure of traveling to NYC with Kelsey this past weekend for a newborn session. It was a cold but sunny day – perfect traveling weather. We got to spend some of the afternoon with this little beauty. She made the trip worth while! They say she has her father’s eyes and her mother’s lips. Anyway you look at it, I think she got the perfect combination. And she did so well during her little modeling session! “Picture perfect” you might say. I know, that was a little cheesy (Yup, I’m full of them! I’ll quit while I’m ahead.)

The first time I had a session with Lidia was about six months ago. She was cute as a button then, and still is now! She warmed up much faster this time – by the end of the session I was reading Eric Carle books with her! 6 months makes such a big difference at this age. They are constantly changing and developing their own personalities. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to capture her again!

3 weeks and counting

This mama-to-be was looking for some pics with an edgy flair, something to represent her style. Her best friend bought her the session so she could capture her pregnancy in the last few weeks before her son was born. They had a good time picking out her clothes and playing around with her make-up for a more dramatic effect. I had a great time changing up the lighting and I couldn’t resist the beautiful natural light coming in through the window.

Brody

Meet Brody. He’s your typical fun-lovin 2 1/2 year old. He showed me his trucks, his bear and his blanket. He also showed me his favorite dinosaur book – complete with a big “ROAR” and all. We played and watched Dora. And in between all this, we had a photo session. I’m not sure Brody even noticed

Rebecca & Todd Engagement

I met with Todd & Rebecca on a cool morning last weekend. They really wanted their engagement photos done outside, despite the wintry weather. I was up for it when they said they wanted to meet in Bushnell Park – a favorite place of mine. And although the session was short & sweet (since we were all freezing) they didn’t have a problem snuggling up and keeping warm! Todd’s twins came along for some photos and some hot cocoa afterwords! I’m looking forward to their wedding in Sept. Not only because they are such a wonderful couple, but I know it will definitely be warmer too

Also, you’ll notice a little change here on the blog. This is one of the new features that I’ll be using to display pics. All you do is click on one pic, it will enlarge the image and you can click through each one to view them. Let me know what you think!

“My Heart is Happy”

Most 6 year olds are concerned about what they got for Christmas or if they will have gym tomorrow at school.

Most 6 year olds are trying to keep their little brother out of their room and really love riding their bike.

And, like most other 6 year olds, this one does all of those things. But she also does a bit more…

She’s compassionate. She’s fair. She has a great ability to see the good in people. She’s mature beyond her years in some ways, and in other ways, she’s just a regular six year old.

But to me, she’s amazing. And I’m so proud and awed by the things that make her who she is.

She started asking back in July around her 6th birthday. She really wanted to donate her money to the Children’s Hospital in CT. “To help the kids” she said. We told her we thought it was a great idea and she could save some money and make a donation. She saved all her tooth fairy money and filled her piggy bank with any change she could find. Last week we all went to the hospital and brought her donation with us. It didn’t matter how much money she brought with her in the envelope.

The thing that really mattered was what she said on the way home in the car… “my heart is happy”.

First Session of the New Year

I got to spend the afternoon with a great couple and their new little one this past weekend. I met them a few months ago at their pregnancy session and I was so excited when I was asked back to take pics of Cameron. He is cute as a button! I found out a few things while I was there – Cameron doesn’t like baskets, he LOVES being held and his parents are naturals! They weren’t phased by his crying and knew exactly what he needed and how to sooth him.
And that would be why he’s soo calm here:

I did bring a light with me but the natural light was great!

There’s another cutie in the family too…

It’s finally here. 2010 has arrived! I couldn’t be more excited. Don’t get me wrong, 2009 was a great year. I met amazing kids, families and couples. I traveled to beautiful beaches and warm, cozy homes. It was truly an honor to meet each and every one of you for the first time – and it was fantastic to see some of you back again for more sessions! I really have the best clients! Check back here for new specials for 2010 and of course sneak peaks from each session. The website should be getting it’s face lift pretty soon too. Please, drop a comment or a hello when you stop by! I hope to offer new things this year that will serve you better and keep Jennifer Landon Photography your photographer for all life’s moments!

Last session of the year

What a fantastic way to end this year’s sessions! This great couple became new parents right at the end of 2009 and I can’t think of a better way to start out the New Year! I think these should be Lucas’s New Year’s resolutions:

1. Eat

2. Sleep

3. Have great hair

4. Find a way to wrap your parents around your finger

5. Always look cute

(Something tells me this will be easy!)
