Supplies:

How to Make:

Step 1.) Cut circles of any size out of the heavyweight blue paper. (I used glitter paper here.)

Step 2.) Cut the straws into pieces of similar or varying lengths.

Step 3.) Fold each one of the circles in half and make two small cute on either side of the middle so that you can thread it similar to a button.

TIP: Use the pen to open up the holes so that you can thread the string through the holes more easily.

Step 4.) Thread your pieces on in any design you like.

Happy Holidays! This fun art activity is important for development! Young children need activities that strengthen hand muscles so they can learn how to write. This Cork and Eraser Stamping Christmas Tree Craft offers creativity, counting skills, following directions, and fine motor skills. Hooray! Another way to learn while having fun together!

Supplies:

• Green paint
• Blue, yellow, red paint 
• Brown paint
• A cork
• A unsharpened pencil with an eraser
• A paper plate
• Paper

Directions:

Step 1. Pour a quarter-sized drop of green paint onto a paper plate

2. Add dime-sized drops of paint to the plate in the colors you wish to decorate the tree with.

3. Model for your child how to use a wine cork to stamp the green paint onto paper. 

4. Depending on the skill level of the child, you can either explain how they can stamp a triangle shape or you could lightly draw a triangle shape for the tree, and then have the child stamp inside.

5. Use the pattern, one stamp at the top, then two below it, three on the next line, and repeat until you reach the desired length. This is where the little ones can work on their counting skills.

6. After the tree is formed, add a line of 2 – 4 brown stamps for a tree trunk.

7. Next, offer your child a pencil or Q-tip, and encourage them to stamp some “ornaments”. 

8. Allow to dry and then display.

Cook: 55 Minutes

Ingredients:

1/2 lof of french bread, italian bread, or country bread; cubed
1/2 white onion; diced
2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
1 tablespoon. fresh rosemary
salt
black pepper
2 cups chicken (or vegetable) broth
2 large eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon butter

Instructions:

Place diced bread onto a bakig sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 200 degrees fahrenheight for 20 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and butter a baking dish. In a skillet, over medium heat, add onion and celery and cook until soft and fragrant, 8 minutes. Stir in garlic, thyme, and rosemary and cook until fragrant, 1 minute more. Season with salt and pepper.

Place bread in a large bowl and add skillet mixture. Toss to combine. In a medium bowl, whisk together chicken broth and beaten eggs and pour over bread mixture. Toss until completely coated.

Transfer mixture to prepared baking dish and cover with foil. Bake until cooked through, 45 minutes, then remove foil and cook until bread is golden, 20 minutes more.
