Here’s another photo of the Great Wall of China at Simatai.

I took this picture of the Great Wall of China through a window in one of the towers, like the ones depicted in the photo. I used the flash to illuminate the window making the inside of the room stand out while you can still see the view of the wall in the distance. This particular section of the Great Wall is at Simatai. Although, it is less touristy than the Badaling section of the wall, there are still merchants on foot that follow you selling you water, t-shirts, etc.

When I saw a friend taking a picture of this drain spout, I also thought it could make for an interesting photo. The spout is ornate, the shadow makes it a little dramatic, and the red is bold. We came across this scene on one of the inner walls of the Forbidden City.

When you visit the Forbidden City, there are several exhibits within the wall that you can visit. This photo, from one of the exhibits, is a tea canister. If I recall correctly, it is gold and is supposed to look like a lion.

Pictured in this photo is one of the many guardian lions that can be found in the Forbidden City. You can tell that this is a female guardian lion because she is playing with a lion cub with one of her paws.

I took this shot at the entrance of the Forbidden City in Beijing. I’m not sure if the the statue in the picture would technically be considered a totem pole or not. Reading on the internet suggests “no” but I only spent 15 minutes on the issue. Leave a comment if you know.

A few weeks a ago we visited some friends in Boston who have this great roof-top balcony that overlooks the Back Bay section of Boston. Their deck includes a few garden items including a chili plant.

On our way to Loon Mountain to view the fall colors I noticed this very colorful row of trees lined up along train tracks. To the left of the tracks there was actually a miniature golf course.

While touring around New Hampshire we made a stop a the the base of the ski resort known as Loon Mountain. The colors in this area were extremely vivid and probably the most vivid of the entire trip. If I recall correctly, the top of the building here is a rental shop and lunch spot.

Here’s another photo that I took while we were in New England. I took this photo near the Connecticut River in Norwich, Vermont. As you can see, the color of these leaves were extremely vivid.

Here’s another photo I took while visiting Woodstock, Vermont. This huge tree caught my eye due to it’s size, the veritable rainbow of colors scattered across it, and the moon directly above.

While on vacation in Vermont, we took a day trip to check out Woodstock, Vermont. I took this photo while wondering around this quaint town. After visiting Woodstock, we drove on further to have a beer at Long Trail Brewing Company.

I took this photo of New Hampshire Covered Bridge #20, the Cornish-Windsor Bridge, on the New Hampshire side of the Connecticut River. Just outside of the bridge there is a sign with the following details:

Built in 1866 at a cost of $9,000, this is the longest wooden bridge in the United States and the longest two-span covered bridge in the world. The fourth bridge at this site, the 460-foot structure was built by Bela J. Fletcher (1811-1877) of Claremont and James F. Tasker (1826-1903) of Cornish, using a lattice truss patented by architect Itheil Town in 1820 and 1835. Built as a toll bridge by a private corporation, the span was purchased by the state of New Hampshire in 1936 and made toll-free in 1943.

While wondering around Norwich, VT taking pictures I came across this colorful leaf that had landed on some pink-ish colors flowers.

While we were on vacation in Vermont some friends had recommended visiting Woodstock. While on route from Norwich to Woodstock we noticed a bunch of people standing around and taking pictures from the side of the bridge we were crossing. We pulled over to see what the view was all about and found Quechee Gorge. The river that goes through this gorge is the Ottauquechee River.

Dartmouth has a beautiful ivy league campus which is enhanced by the bright fall colors. The red leaves on this tree were especially striking with the campus buildings in the background.
